What does CD mean? (Forgive my ignorance!)

My LO is 5 yo old now, and I'm with a new partner. I'm terrified that we're both too old to conceive now, so hopefully this will bring us luck! (I'm 37, OH 40 and never had kids before).

Quick update - still no AF (not had one since 6th October 2008!) and just done ANOTHER test with a BFN. So confused, but finally pulled my finger out and booked a Dr's appointment for blood tests tomorrow. What do you think they'll ask/do?

Hello everyone, thought i would share something. My hubby is gettng a bit presious. "He's not a machine you know"

Evening, I OV on the 16th day from start of my period and my cycle is 30 days on av.
They do say that 14 days is the norm, but it can vary!
I've downloaded a free trial of an OV calender that highlights your must fertile points within the month including when you ov, all you need to know is your last period and av cycle lenght (which we all know off by heart) .

It's a 45day free trial which is enough time to figure out when when you OV.

i have no idea how long my cycle is ,this will be my first month of ttc,have also been looking on fertility friend so think AF is due on the 21st jan.......i really dont want to wait that long it goes so slow lol

Great idea. I'm so excited by this - I don't want to tell any of my friends/family that we're ttc so I've been feeling about to burst with keeping it a secret. It's so good to be chatting to others about this

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one feeling impatient. Now that we have decided we are as ready for a baby as we'll ever be I just want to get on with it. I can't wait to be pregnant (although then I'll probably just be impatient to get the next nine months over and have my baby ).

trixie i was in the same boat as you before af arrived. i was 2 months late. i went to the dr twice. on the first occasion he said.. 'ER your either pregnant or your period will be here very soon.' then i went again a few weeks later and she said it can be normal for women to just miss periods for up to 6 months! (not heard that before either) but she refered me for a hcg blood test which too came back -tive. that was the 18th dec and then on the 4th jan af arrived no explanation.

i know how awful it is when you just want to get busy with ttc and you have no idea where you are in your cycle.

hope she comes soon xxx

right, I have been doing ov tests and thats fine, but before i had my miscarriage two weeks ago i always had no line at all except the day or two where the LH peaked for ovulation. I have been doing them a week and the last two nights i've had a faint line. I'm confused about whether thats a peak or not?

so... i thought i best find out something about CM and cervix shape. I have to admit i've avoided getting too into this as it seems a bit yuck to me . But i think i need to see if there are any other signs that suggest ovulation. can anyone talk me through what i should be looking for???

littlemiss excuse if tmi... you need to look out for EWCM (Egg white cervical mucas, or fluid if you hate the m word, which my DP does ) this should look like egg white and be stretchy. This is like the fluid sperm live in and means they can survive for longer. Most people only get 2-3 days of EWCM, although it can depend on your age, diet etc. Apparently drinking grapefruit juice can increase it, but I can't make myself drink it yuck... When you identify EWCM its go go go!!!

can i just ask you all a question? do you wait until a specific day to do the bd or do you just go for it as often as you can manage?!

last time we just did a lot of bd, i wasn't counting days or anything.

i don't wait for a specific day, but i do it the day of positive ov test and then the 48 hours after that guaranteed. The rest of the month its for fun

well last night was a little strange

we both could not be bothered BD but knew we had to,DH said because he knew it took him a looooong time
he said i'm putting to much pressure on him,in a good way though,well i'll keep up with the BD for a few more days then ill have a rest ,hope you are all well will post longer after college

I only started doing ov tests as we were trying for a while with no joy and the first month I did an ov test I fell pregnant.

It's just a great way to know the best times to get giggy!

Hi Devil, I've just started using ovulation sticks this month. DP works away a lot at the moment and I thought it would be useful to know when I ovulate so we can try to get together at the best times if possible. I'm also hoping that it will stop me getting too excited (then really disappointed) the months we don't manage but thats probably hoping for too much.

what is the best day to have sex in regards to your ov? is it on the ov day?
