littlemiss. For me the recovery was worse than the labour and I still feel like I missed out on something but I am probably just being bonkers.

theboob · 06/01/2009 21:11

pain after being cut was horrible, but not long lasting, after the other two it was just a bit of swelling and tenderness....but it's true what they say you do forget

there are lots of horror stories out there but really if it was that bad i would not be on number 4

never felt tearing

Ralphie0956 · 06/01/2009 21:15

I know, you get to hear so many stories. One of my friends said she didn't feel a thing while the other almost screamed down the ward.

They say that no deliverly is the same as any other!

Lets just all cross fingers that we're be telling our own stories once more in Oct 09

WizzyWoo · 06/01/2009 22:14

FifiOk Thanks for the ov stick link I've bookmarked the site for future ref if I don't get a BFP early next month... Here's hoping you don't need to use the sticks after this month.

Ralphie0956 The last thing I want to do is tell you horror stories so I'll keep this brief - I unfortunately felt both cutting and tearing and screamed the place down. Like Earlynite, I really struggled afterwards (peeing hurt like hell and I couldn't sit or lie comfortably enough to breastfeed properly). However like Theboob I've got over it, hence ttc #2.

I was advised by my MW last time to massage my perineum and vagina with vaseline to try to avoid tearing but was too grossed out and embarrassed to do it With the benefit of hindsight and having had what felt like half of Newcastle seeing my bits when I was in labour for 38 hours, I'm not really embarrassed by any of that stuff any more - once I'm pregnant I'll be buying shares in Vaseline!!

Just remember, no matter what, when you feel your first wave of love for that little person (whether it's immediately or much further down the line in my case), it suddenly becomes all worth it

MintChocAddict · 06/01/2009 22:17

Hi All,

Have been using OPK's this month and detected +ov today! Woo-hoo!!!

Fingers and toes crossed.

Ralphie 0956 - I also had an episiotomy (sp????)and stitches with DC1 and although it did really hurt at the time, I agree with TheBoob - am also willing to go through it all again, so hope that reassures you.

Good luck to all.

theboob · 06/01/2009 23:06

little tip for future ref regarding peeing after tear/cut,a jug of warm water and pour as you wee no stinging at all and good hygine for your wound,my jug went in my changing bag every outing

also have good tips for first poo after delivery but will save that till we get our BFP's as i now sound like an old fish wife

WizzyWoo · 06/01/2009 23:21

Wish I'd known about the warm water thing... You're right - BFP's here we come!

hello all, please can I join? only on 2nd cycle of ttc no1, felt really down after AF arrived, which I know is ridiculous (touch wood!), was already starting to feel that this will never happen to me. Cycle is 32 days I think (still settling after stopping pill).
Bd'd every other day until CD14 but then dh had to go on 10 day trip abroad, so not sure its going to be my lucky month . Does anyone else have to deal with a dh/ dp that works away a bit? I'm just worried that is going to make it so much harder to get pregant... (although after reading about the 'tearing', not sure i'm in such a hurry now!!!!)

Morning Girls!

how are you all today?

ive updated the list this morning.

had a crap day yesterday. bank froze our account as someone has tried to spend near on £1000 on various things, now got to wait for new cards. plus side is the bank managed to notice in time so they didnt actually get away with any of our money.

going back to the tear question.... i had a 3rd degree tear with ds1 he was 9lb 40z and i was only in labour 4 hrs. then had to have an op on my bottom when he was 10 months old. was horrific.

had c section with ds2 he was 2 wks early breech and 10lb.2 was too scared to attempt vaginally. def have a c sec this time round.

baby dust to all xxx

Bubble you were lucky - my brother's card got abused and because they didn't notice he had to cover it - really unfair! at least the bank noticed in time.

for those of you doing ov sticks - i had a faint positive two days in a row and then yesterday absolutely nothing - is it likely i ovulated between those two tests??? or is it my body still being messed up after mmc? really confused

FifiOK · 07/01/2009 09:10

Littlemiss Not really sure about your faint positive results. All I know is that the LH that it detects exists in your body all the time anyway so it is possible to get a faint positive on days when you're not ovulating. Also though a lot of people have said you can be very fertile after a MC so it could be that you have seen a surge. I've been TTC since an ERPC after MMC back in Sept. My first AF took 6 weeks to come but everything has been very regular since then. You are right though... all very confusing.

dancingqueen very sympathetic to your DH working away. We both do odd days away most weeks so the planning gets very complicated. Have just been able to cancel one night away next week which means we should now only miss one critical night rather than two

mosschops30 · 07/01/2009 10:22

ralphie if youre cd30 you need to come to the september thread

hey bubble no sign of AF yet lots of conflicting feelings though (sickness, then cramps) who knows whats going on.
Will test again friday if no joy, then will come and join you guys over here.

Wishing you all lots of luck for this month

pinkie08 · 07/01/2009 10:30

Mosschops will keep fingers crossed for you for Friday and no AF.

The whole pain debate is interesting.

I ride horses for a living and was told natural birth could be v painful due to strength of muscles due to the riding. Old wives tale - almond/oliveoil on the bit that tears

didnt tear or have any discomfort when finally get that elusive BFP will be doing same again.

girlwithacurl · 07/01/2009 11:09

Hello everyone, nothing to report, just waiting for BD marathon
Welcome dancingqueen, fingers crossed mosschops
Good luck everyone else!

eeyore2 · 07/01/2009 11:11

Hi everyone, can I join you?
Eeyore2, ttc #1, cycle 1 cd43.
I came off the pill at the end of November and but it seems like it will take a long time for my body to settle down. Now on CD43 and still no sign of AF, plus didn't seem to ovulate and BFN from a test I did just in case. Now I'm just crossing my fingers AF arrives soon so I can get going! Good luck to all of us, and here's hoping for some nice regular cycles!

bubblebell1 · 07/01/2009 11:13

good luck moss i hope af stays away. fingers crossed for fri

littlemiss thats awful! did the bank pay it back?

i did ov tests a few weeks back when i didnt know where i was in my cycle and had about 3 with faint pos results. i did 1 on day af arrived and it was clear... they r very confusing... but i suppose if u get a +ive and ewcm u could say u ov'd.

OP posts:
littlemiss26 · 07/01/2009 11:32

Bubble no they didn't pay it back - apparently they don't have to!!! which is why people should take out card protection plans or something to cover themselves against it happening to them (she says, not actually having one of her own!)

eeyore when i came off the pill it took 8 months!! and i never got a period i got pregnant on the first ovulation. My doctor said its really common for people to take up to a year to get back to normal after taking the pill - i'm never going near it again if it screws me up that badly

as for ovulation, i think my problem is i don't have a 'normal' i've only had two real periods in the last decade (due to pill, pregnancy and breastfeeding) and those two were 23 days and 45 days, so i have absolutely no idea what my body is doing - its a nightmare. So which i was a regular 28/30 days person like the rest of you

bubblebell1 · 07/01/2009 11:44

god! its just our current account. i thought it was covered!! i will have to check with them.

eeyore this is my first period since coming off the pill in oct! i hope things are sorted soon. i guess its pot luck. when i came off i was bombarded with stories of women concieving in the first month.. its taken me 3 months and 1 cycle and still waiting....

OP posts:
eeyore2 · 07/01/2009 11:55

Thanks Bubble and Littlemiss, it's great to know I'm not the only one. I wish I'd come off the pill while I was waiting TTC now, but of course you don't really think about these things, do you.

theboob · 07/01/2009 12:14

i got pregnant on the pill with ds1,after that i have always had the implant and conceived in the first month after removel with DD and DS2 ,but now i have said that it wont happen
but i got AF a few days after removel so that is a good sign ,i hope everybodys cycle settles down soon

i just wondered if any body else has an enlargred overy? if so does this effect ovulation ,when i was 16 i used to bled between pill cycles really heavy they scaned me and thought i had a cyst ,after a laparoscopy it turns out i have a suger sized overy

it's just i feel really really strange "different" but i'm only on cd 14 but i just feel strange and wondered if my big O could release early ......i sometimes have a second AF after another but not every month ,i'm off to google

(I am turning obsessed already and It's only day 14 )

HomeintheSun · 07/01/2009 12:27

Hi dancingqueen when we lived in the uk my dh had to stay at work and be on call for a weeks at a time, every five weeks or so, I remember one weekend he was suppose to stay there and he came home on the friday and Saturday night the result of that was DS. I hope I ovulate before the 21st of this month because DH has to go to the uk on a course for a few weeks.

This month I will be watching out for EWCM, and I have ov sticks and keeping my fingers crossed.

DevilsAdvocaat · 07/01/2009 12:43

i had a second degree tear with ds and i didn't feel it! lucky me. i had g and a and a shot of pethidene.

it did hurt having the stitches but i used gas and air again which helped. the stitches healed quickly and i didn't find them too painful afterwards.

i second warm water whilst you are peeing, it really does help.
