BTW, ladies, may I ask an indelicate question? What are your feelings about BDing during the 2WW? Maybe I have miscarriage paranoia now but I feel nervous about it. What do you think?

StealthPolarBear · 07/12/2008 15:36

I was sure I wasn't pg last time (last time I was pg I mean) so obviously lack this miracle instinct
Given my weird cycle I BD all the way through! Can understand nerves about it though. Has anything specific been said to you?

VillageMum · 07/12/2008 16:35

No, nothing specific at all! It really is just paranoia...

VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 07/12/2008 19:08

I think it's ok to bd during 2ww, just no swinging from the lamp shades, or jumping off wardrobes .
I am right there with you on the paranoia though.

hello VM and verykeen, nice to see you on here too.
stealth, this is kind of my 2nd cycle of trying since i came off the PIll, but me and dh were so ill last month we only bd'd twice! we've done it more this month but unless i ov-ed when i think, not sure if it could be my month.
so, go on VBM, what are the 3 day post ov symptoms?

olivo · 07/12/2008 19:30

oh, and with regard to 2ww bding, should be fine but we probably won't as i'm paaranoid too.

CakeForBreakfast · 07/12/2008 20:02

Hello all, mind if I join you...

...I'm a new poster, after being a lurker for over a YEAR.

I have to speak up now as I'm crazed from ttc! I've been trying for 8 months, and every one of those 8 managed to convince myself I was pg despite vowing to myself I wouldn't become the symptom spotting, neurotic weirdo I sadly am.

The interesting bits are: I'm 33, with one dc (17months) who was conceived no sooner than we decided to start trying. I went to my GP last month who said to see her again after trying for one year. Ah well.

Oh - what does "2WW" mean?

twoplease · 07/12/2008 20:12

hello all, can i join in too? i think am af due on christmas day so that makes it pretty damn festive ttcing #2 - dd is 4 in 10 days - have been trying for a little bro or sis for her for 10 months.

i am trying (and failing)to ov spot - am using opks not temping but not sure i trust them too much!! def got a ov type pain today but only cd8 or 9, i do have 24/5 day cycles so a possibility i guess.

2ww = two week wait cake for breakfast

CakeForBreakfast · 07/12/2008 20:27

Hi twoplease, I have a 26(ish) day cycle and have had ov type pains on cds 11 and 12, which also coincided with ewcm. I know I would fluff up opks and temping so try to spot the usual bodily signs.

StealthPolarBear · 07/12/2008 21:19

Hi CakeFOrBreakfast and twoplease

CakeForBreakfast · 07/12/2008 21:27

Hello StealthPolarBear, It feels good to have come out of the lurker shadows

VillageMum · 07/12/2008 22:09

Vjay, what, no swinging from the lampshades? There goes my usual sexual repertoire! Erk, no, I'm sure you're right, and olivo too, but I'm just too afraid to do anything that might dislodge a possible bean - ridiculous, isn't it? I'm even climbing the stairs slooooowly, and that egg might not even be fertilised!

cake, someone on another thread assumed that 2WW stands for 2nd World War - the mind boggles... forget BDing - just mind the bombs...

olivo, the 3-days-post-ov symptoms these superfertile babes totted up were things like tingling nipples, cramping, enhanced sense of smell (one of them said she could tell by the SMELL OF HER WEE that she was pg!) ravenous appetite etc. Oh yeah? I thought the hcg hormone that produces all these things only gets produced after implantation at 7-10 days! This month I had stunning mittelschmerz as usual during ov followed by mild cramping since, am always ravenous, and can't say that my wee smells particularly nice, but I'm holding fire before I declare that these are pg symptoms...

twoplease, ov type pains on cd 8/9 in a 24/5 day cycle sounds about right? If you use OPKS try not to use very early morning wee as the LH surge normally happens later in the day.

2manychips · 07/12/2008 22:27

Hey girls, I'm cd 17 today. Ok to join? I certainly bd'd during my 2ww last time (I have a 19mo dd. Tell me though, do you drink much alcohol during this time? not sure what best to do with the xmas parties coming up.

LadyMetroland · 07/12/2008 23:01

hi all - I am on 2ww too. Currently 5dpo, so testing around 15th.

Came down with a virus yesterday and had fever earlier today (temperature this morning was 38.44!!!!) so am hoping that's not going to bugger things up. Am taking paracetemol and hoping that's going to harm anything either - without it my temperature was just going up and up.

Anyway, feeling a bit better this evening and still hopeful about success this month. Also decided that even if I'm not pg, at least that means I can drink over Christmas... 2manychips I'm trying to avoid alcohol at the mo - although I did have half a glass of vino on Friday night. Doubt that small amounts can do much harm.

smileycat · 08/12/2008 08:56

Hi ladies, can see a few names on here that I recognise, can I join in too for the festive 2WW, I'm only CD5/6 today so still a while to wait for me, should OV sometime early next week then the 2WW begins, will be due AF around 28th/31st just in time for a New Year bean (please)
TTCing for number2, my ds is now 10 & after 10 years of not knowing if I really wanted No2 I now do & I'm now paying for being so indecisive as I'm on month 5, had a very large cyst removed in late March along with my ovary & tube so I guess that kick started me into trying for number2, have appointment booked with gyni in the Nyear if things go happen this month to see if there are any problems......well enough of my history...let the 2WW begin

VillageMum · 08/12/2008 09:49

LadyMetro, I'd take the paracetamol - it won't do any harm at all to your chances of ttc or to a developing embryo, and it's better to keep your temperature down if possible.

smiley, hello from the other thread! ((waves))

2manychips, I'm avoiding alcohol completely at the moment, but that's because I stopped drinking in July when I found out I was pg and just didn't start again after I miscarried in September - I just felt too sad to indulge... if you do drink, keep it in moderation, I'd say, just in case you're pg. Good luck!

smileycat · 08/12/2008 10:37

LadyMetro the ones that get pg & don't know about it till theres no AF drink & take headache pills, when I got pg with my ds I was on honeymoon & drank lots & probably took paracetemol to ward off the hangovers (long time ago so can't remember but usually do) & he was born perfectly healthy so I wouldn't worry too much about taking some to control your temp, I know we never forget that we are tccing but we can't put our lifes on hold either hoping that this month is the one....although I did have a migraine the month before last on my 2WW & suffered in silence

CakeForBreakfast · 08/12/2008 13:52

Morning, following on from the booze and painkillers thing, have any of you cut out caffeine? I can't do without my mug of builders tea in the morning and of course, my paranoid mind wonders if I oughtn't...

VJayMerrilyOnHigh · 08/12/2008 18:15

Hello, wow it's getting busy in here. cakeforbreakfast I cut out caffeine during my last pg, but it ended in mc. I'm still off it now.
I think we should start a 'day to test' list;

VJay hopefully testing 21st

i had a month off booze last month and am taking it easy this month, have cut down on caffeine but its weird - i'm sure its ust to feel like i'm doing somthing proactive as i didn't give anything up when i got pregnant with dd 4.5 years ago!!
