Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

Just incase that doesnt sound to good, can i just say that i did a pregnancy test both times before going out for the night! Neg tests then 2 days after night out...poss tests...if im lucky to get pregnant again i will try not to repeat it lol...

irishmumwannabe · 12/12/2008 13:29

lol @ little pea - thanks for teh advice.
When my sis was pg she didn't know. We were in the pub after my grandmother's funeral and really went mad then a month later she found out she was 3 months! Her kid is grand though and she wasn't ttc anyway!

I'll test again on Sunday if AF not showing it's face

JumpingJellyfish · 12/12/2008 13:54

irishmumwannabe- sorry that it was BFN this morning but keeping everything crossed a BFP is on its way- what type/make of test did you use? Was an extra sensitive one like a First Response? I am sure a couple of drinks tonight won't do any harm at such an early stage- I didn't know I was pregnant with DS (had come off contraception but weren't really trying) and had quite a big night- the next day realised my period was a couple of days late, did a test- BFP- and felt so awful about the drinking . When I went to the GPs I asked her about it and she said it was very unlikely to have had any effect as the embryo had barely implanted- from that moment on of course I didn't touch the stuff! (didn't want to anyhow as morning sickness put me right off, even the smell of alcohol would make me sick...). Hope you have a great night out and good luck for when you next test!

Littlepea, shoptilidrop & Forcessweetheart- really feel for you, must be so hard when your DH's are away for such long periods. Forcessweetheart hope you manage to fit as much BDing in as possible- it's hard enough when you're looking after a toddler let alone when you only get 2 days a week to BD in. Hope you have a lovely eve tonight.

No news here...no pre-AF spotting yet which I am expecting today or tomorrow, as it usually comes on CD23 ready for proper AF on CD26....but not getting excited either...

Any news from Bubblebell? xx
Good luck all!

pinkie08 · 12/12/2008 14:15

TrixieBelden · 12/12/2008 20:34

Sorry, am just coming to after fainting dead away at irishmumwannabe's NINE siblings! I'm an only and I always wished for lots of brothers and sisters...being one of ten sounds amazing.

Now that I think about it, I conceived DD after quite a few drinks on holiday. She's the healthiest person I know and, sadly, is far more clever than I so I say go on, have a drink.

Keep your strength up, shoptilidrop!

Am trying to psych myself up for being pg. I had such a miserable time with morning (and afternoon and evening) sickness last time, for a full five months, and fainting...I think I need to write a letter to myself to read in case I do get pg, instructing myself to buck up and get some exercise and eat sensibly and take my iron supplements, etc. It's a bit scary to think of going through it all again.

bubblebell1 · 13/12/2008 16:07

hi girls!!

hope all is well...lots of bd ing and grapefruit drinking

sorry irish about the BFN but it could still change. ive got my fingers crossed.

STILL no AF here im really peed off at mo.. hopefully thats a sign AF is on her way.

irishmumwannabe · 14/12/2008 11:34

Hey everyone,

Well AF due today and so far no sign - feel sick for the past 4 days though and lat test BFN.

Really weird last night cried at everything on TV - Harlequins winning therugby, all the stories in Strictly come dancing and of course the X Factor final. Im never that emotional ut think it's just the AF knocking on the door.

Ah well we'll have another bd marathon next month which DH is happy about!

Bubble that's so frustrating for you - I really hoe you get some kind of answers soon.

LOL @ Trixie - it was good craic growig up though - especialy at Christmas. And we're all fairly close now as well which is cool. None of us are planning on making that a family tradition though. DH is an only and he first met my whole family at Christmas which was a bit like jumping in the deep end god bless him!

Anywho - jumping have my fingers crosed for you tomorrow I'll let ye al know what happens AF wie for me.

God luck to all of you for the rest of the month - hopefully we have lots of BFPs soon enough. to those on hte 2ww - hope the suspense doesn't kill you all!

JumpingJellyfish · 14/12/2008 12:49

Ooooh irishmumwannabe keeping everything crossed your AF stays away...

No pre-AF spotting yet from me, which is kind of weird, as usually happens from CD22 or CD23 (at least that is what has happened for the previous 3 cycles). But I'm not getting my hopes up as a few spots on my forehead appeared this morning which always seems to happen when AF is on her way. Also sore boobs which again happens when AF is on her way. Will try to keep resisting testing until Mon eve or Tues morn as sure AF should be here by then...

Good luck to all those on the BD marathon and for those on the dreaded 2WW!

Bubble- hope you get some answers somehow soon, being in limbo must be terrible...and it's so annoying your GP didn't offer more help.

Well DH just left for the week. Weekend didn't quite go as planned but went OK. Friday night's planned seduction went up the spout! I was all kitted up in a sexy little babydoll lingerie set, I had 3 glasses of champagne, and passed out cold on the couch! DH had to throw a blanket over me and go to bed alone. Since the gastric bypass replumbed my digestive system I can't hold my drink at all!
Did manage to BD Saturday night, then again this afternoon, so hopefully that'll be enough.

shoptilidrop - he's in Blandford, retraining from being a REME VE to being a Signals IS engineer. He gets a lift with another guy on the course who also lives in Aldershot so that I can have the car all week so he couldn't come home easily - might have to look into getting a few hours babysitting and drive down there for a quickie myself though!

step away from the pg tests jumpingjellyfish, hope AF stays away this week for you.

irishmumwannabe has it stayed away? The day's almost over! Fingers crossed.

Anything happening today bubble? Hope you get it sorted soon.

Good luck everyone.
Lis x

ForcesSweetheart · 14/12/2008 19:28

Folks when should I use an ov test strip? Is first thing in the morning best? If it shows +ive does that mean I have just ov'd or am about to ov? New to these things, used a persona machine to conceive DD but was a long time ago now. I have a load of cheapie ebay strips and figure they may help confirm when would be best day to take a road trip

littlepea72 · 14/12/2008 19:36

Hi ForcesSweetheart, i use the clearblue OK, it gives me a wee smiley face and then you are meant to "do the busisness" that day and a few after. I read that after it shows then you ov between 12-36 hrs after. Hope thats a bit of help

ForcesSweetheart · 14/12/2008 20:01

That's fab littlepea, thanks, will start testing tomorrow morning. L x

MissieMoosMummy · 14/12/2008 21:31

I hope no one minds that I've come to join you ladies and added my name to the list. I've been on the other September thread, and feeling rather obsessive right now.

I'm overdue on my normal cycle, but to complicate matters, I only have a guess at when/if I ov'd based on EWCM which was all over the place:

Have reattached littlepea to the list, not sure what happened there :-)

I've just unearthed an instruction leaflet from the bottom of my bag of ov test strips which answers all the questions I had. In case anyone's interested it says:

Do not use first morning urine samples, as LH is synthesized in the body early in the morning it will not show up until later in the day. The best time to test is between 10am and 8pm (glad I found that, would have tested first thing otherwise!)
It also advises reducing fluid intake for 2 hours prior to testing.
And just as littlepea advised, it says ov should occur 12-36 hrs after a positive result.
So from that I reckon my best bet would be to drive down the day I get a positive ov result. Fingers crossed it's wednesday as he'll have "sports afternoon" and be free to nip off for a quick BD!

Welcome aboard MissieMoosMummy, I reckon we're all just a tad obsessive but hey ho! Best of luck!
Lis x

MissieMoosMummy · 14/12/2008 23:53

Thanks for the welcome Forcessweetheart, we hail from the same neck of the woods - I'm in Farnborough!

Just been to the loo and noticed AF has arrived.

So

Very

Very

Disapointed

Still, next cycle is only a few days away.

Think I'll pour myself a stiff drink tonight and cheer the rest of you on from the sidelines.

ForcesSweetheart · 15/12/2008 01:19

aawww MMM so sorry to hear that. Better luck next month. Here's hoping we'll both get bfp's soon and bump into each other having our scans at frimley!

Sans04 · 15/12/2008 04:17

bubblebell1 · 15/12/2008 08:40

Hi ladies!!

How are you all?

Hello to sans, hope you dont drive yourself crazy on the 2ww.

Sorry AF arrived missie. good luck for the next cycle.

forces sorry the WE didnt go to plan. i read on aug thread that opks detect the surge but ov can sometimes be delayed so if i were you and you could get a babysitter then once you get a positive on opk go that night and the next few too just to make sure.

littlepea72 · 15/12/2008 09:09

Sorry to hear about your AF MMM, good luck to everyone on their 2WW...I'll be there myself pretty soon. x

littlepea72 · 15/12/2008 09:10

Irishmum...any luck yet??

irishmumwannabe · 15/12/2008 09:45

Still nothing to report here - AF hasn't reared it's head but I'm holding off on testing until maybe tomorrow or Wednesday - just in case it's being shy this month.

Hi to the newcomers - sorry AF came for you MMM. Sans hope you're keeping busy during the 2ww!

Jumping - how are things with you? Good luck with teh testing adn hope AF stays well away!

Good luck with teh plan Forces - hope it happens for you!

Betetr get back to work - I'll keep you updated if anything happens! :-)

irishmumwannabe · 15/12/2008 09:46

I will start reviewing these messages soon - sorry about the spelling.

Oh had a good night on Friday night - only had 3/4 drinks as well - that was very good for me!

JumpingJellyfish · 15/12/2008 10:24

that's good news irishmumwannabe- hoping AF stays away! And I'm impressed with your restraint in not testing!

AF isn't here yet but very much feel she's on her way, reckon will be by the end of today so not testing yet.

Welcome missiemoesmummy and sans04, though sorry the witch got you this month missiemoo have everything crossed for the coming cycle- surely all the festivities should play in our favour! Think I'll be joining you at the bottom of the list v soon... I keep saying I won't get obsessed but it's so hard not too...made worse in a way maybe by having been so lucky with my last conceptions & falling straight away (didn't even know when in my cycle to try!)

Sans04 really feel for you trying so long- can't imagine it (finding trying for 6 months hard enough). My SIL was trying 15 months then fell pregnant the same months they took her day 21 bloods ironically! But know how hard it was for her.

2manychips any news? what length is your cycle normally? Hope AF stays away!

bubblebell- hope the GP today is a bit more helpful and can maybe to a blood test to rule anything serious out. Good luck.

Good luck everyone, especially those on the awful 2ww...

MoreThanChocolate · 15/12/2008 11:06

Hi everyone and good luck with your baby plans.
We are ttc #1, first try after a mc at 5-6 weeks in October.
Have become quite obsessive - how dh copes with me I don't know.
Could I join the list please
I'm 37, no kids yet, now CD 28 af due 19th November dc would be due 1st sept... if only we could be lucky this time.
Symptom spotting: Have the usual pre period pains off and on plus some breast sensations that I don't recognise (or is that my imagination ).
