Hi All, have been on a couple of ttc hreads but due to sad arrival of af yesterday and x2 negative pg testa thought I'd start a September one.

We are ttc#2 we already have dd(2) and had a mc in September this will be cycle 3 since mc.

Mc hit me hard, more so than other adverse life events for some reason also head full of other stuff such as trying to complete a Post grad Diploma in Cognitive Therapy!!

Anyway want to try to be optimistic and hopeful and not (too!) obsessive this month!

Anyone else fancy joining?? xx

Updated for today and added snowfall back in.

Homeinthesun sorry AF got you, but welcome to the bottom of the list, was beginning to worry I'd end up hanging around here on my own.

littlepea and irishmumwannabe crossing everything for you. Symptoms sound hopeful, and this does seem to be a lucky thread!

hi everyone!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

congrats to those with bfps and good luck to those on the 2ww.

well... i had an awfull new years eve. at about 3pm i had the most awful pains down low on my left side sharp and extreamly painfull. i couldnt stand up straight and it was making me feel sick. it wouldnt shift so i called the dr out at about 11pm and was taken to hosp.
had a pt which was neg urine samples clear but my womens bits were so so tender and painfull. i was given painkillers and monitered. i came home yest and was told to come back for a scan today if i was still in pain. they said they didnt know what was causing the pains but the pains have just stopped. im still a little tender but i dont even need to take painkillers.

(tmi alert) so after bucket loads of ewcm i had a check and my cervix has disappeared out of reach.

please someone tell me that those pains were not ovulation pains because i dont think i could survive another bout of that and the pains makes my sex drive vanish.

i am hoping AF turns up soon. im fed up and feel like ive waited forever and some for dc3

Issy42 · 02/01/2009 15:26

Hi all. Just popping in again to say congrats to Trixie and hi to bubblebell - how awful for you, did you go for the scan today? Keep us posted.

I'm not going to join the thread but due to a miscalculation on my part and being a bit naughty there is a very small chance that I could be on for September after all, though there will be repercussions if I am. Full story on this thread.

Good luck everyone and Happy New Year xxx

Snowfalls108 · 02/01/2009 16:43

Has anyone else read every single webpage relating to how soon you can test after conception, oh and every single page relating to symptoms while trying to fit them to those that I'm having.
Aaaaa! Driving myself barmy.

AF not due until the 8th. That's 6 days. 6 very long days. And even then if I OV'd when I think I did I wouldn't get a BFP. From my extensive reading (!) it would seem that the earliest I could expect a BFP would be the 9th and probably later.

Doesn't help being the only one in the office. Gives me more time to browse sites. At least Radio 1 is playing lots of cheese!

Sunnydale · 02/01/2009 17:29

Happy new year to you all, and congrats on all the BFPs! Especially good to know that you can still BD once and get PG - takes the heat off. Now what does anyone reckon: we BD'd day 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15 - is that enough? Can we stop now? Am beginning to feel like a sperm bucket. No idea when I ov'd as not temping or stick-peeing this month, so am leaving it to chance in a bid to feel more relaxed / less obsessive. Only thing is, we got drunk on CD14 (well, it was Hogmanay) so am hoping the gynae who told me it was okay to drink on the day of conception was right, as I must admit I felt a bit foolish / guilty for doing so when I'm ttc. Oh well, people have done worse I suppose and the main thing is that DH could still "perform", despite getting hammered. Sorry, that's probably TMI. So it's the 2ww for me now - HATE IT HATE IT. The first week isn't so bad, but the second week, when you COULD test and it MIGHT show so you DO test and it's a BFN and then AF is late... AARGH! Snowfalls, I sympathise. Minx, like the new name, good idea. Issy, you naughty girl! And dear Bubble, thinking of you and sorry for your pain. Sounds far to severe to be ovulation pains but I'm no doctor.

littlepea72 · 02/01/2009 18:42

Bubble i dont know what it could be, i remember when i had my Op, i lost the baby, it took ages for my body to get back into place. Sometimes i would have pain so bad, and it felt like someone was sticking hot needles in places , but i would be doubled up. I had to go for a scan to see if they had left anything in the womb, but it was clear, just my body which wasnt a nice experience. Go for the scan, it will put your mind at rest, and if it is ov then at least you be prepared for what is to come. I hope all will be well with you.

Snowfalls, we will find out at the same time...the waiting is crap!! Ive already tested twice, why i dont know, its way to early!! lol...

minxofmancunia · 02/01/2009 20:25

Hi everyone still mistified as to whats' going on with me, cd35 no af and another bfn . Boobs still hurt like mad, worse in the eve.

WTF is going on!!!!!!

My only theory is that I ov'd v late maybe on cd26 instead of 14-17 which is usual for me. If so af due in a week or so.

too late to do any bd now i've worked that out although did have a drunken fumble in xmas eve (with MiL in the house .

Ho hum yet more waiting......

Bubblebell I hope you get anwsers soon, it does sound pretty severe I've had some quite severe ov pains before though that have bent me double lasting a ocuple of hours or so, not enough to go to hosp though. Hope you're ok. xx

HeadFairy · 02/01/2009 20:56

Hello everyone, what a lot of news to catch up on, sorry if I forget everyone's names, but just wanted to add my congrats to those with bfps... evie, bexxa and trixi I think (blimey, I'm lazy, how hard it it to scroll down? )

Issy, crikey, just read your story on the other thread. I hope you do get your bfp and manage to avoid the ivf, but on the other hand I can see it would be complicated. I hope you get what you want, whatever it is!

Minx, (great name change btw, I hope it brings you luck) I hope you get some answers soon and that your hormone levels just haven't risen enough yet to trigger the bfp.

Snowfalls, I'm due on the 6th or thereabouts too, we'll have to do some virtual hand holding, although I'm fairly certain I'm out for this month. Already getting pre af signs, and we only managed one bd thanks to my horrendous cold.

Bubblebell, that sounds awful, I hope those pains don't return. I don't know if it's related but after my mc the first time I ov'd was mega painful, I had normal ov pains at the beginning but they lasted ages, four days or so, and eventually the whole of my lower back was in agony and the pain wrapped around my waist. I thought something was seriously wrong with me, but I just took paracetamol as I was truly fed up of doctors and midwives by then. I've ov'd twice since and it's not returned, so hopefully if it is the same as me, then you won't get it again.

I've just updated the list because for some reason I was on cd 30. My heart skipped a beat when I read that, I thought I'd totally lost track of days and I was actually 2 days late. Sadly not... still on cd 23

Hi I signed up with a thing that sends me regular advice on what to do and what to avoid to get pregnant and I was sent this yesterday which I found informative and thought I would share it.

When you are trying to get pregnant, it is very important to be aware of what pain medication you may be taking, as some can increase the risk of miscarriage or prevent conception. Basically, you should avoid all painkillers other than acetaminophen or Paracetamol (otherwise known as Tylenol), which have no harmful effects. But do avoid ibuprofin, aspirin, and others, which could effect the ability of the embryo to implant into the womb. The embryo may not implant at all (no pregnancy) or it can implant poorly, resulting in an early miscarriage. The most dangerous time to be taking these medications is when you are approaching ovulation.

minxofmancunia · 02/01/2009 21:49

Do you have a link homeinthesun?

Have just had a quiet cry to myself thinknig there's something really wrong with me

HomeintheSun · 02/01/2009 22:27

Hi Minx I didn't mean to up set anyone, are you ok?

I signed up for it some info I think it was called either 7 ways or 10 ways to get pregnant quickly, by Beth Kiley this is the web site the info came from.

www.cleanair.org/CEH/CEHNewsroom/Painkillerssj.htm.

I read it this and couldn't help but wonder, this month I was so sure I was pregnant (I know it was probably wishful thinking) I had cramping, and a bit of spotting, my boobs hurt like hell along with other things. I hurt my neck and took some ibuprofin and about 24 hours later I came on but really heavy and yesterday I passed (sorry if tmi)a couple of clots the size of a golf ball. But I guess I'll never know if it was an early loss or a heavy period. I won't be taking it in future though.

Snowfalls108 · 02/01/2009 23:08

Hi.
Littlepea and HeadFairy great to know that someone else is waiting as well. Fingers crossed for all of us!

mosschops30 · 02/01/2009 23:14

I wouldnt worry too much. A lot of women (me included) who werent trying or expecting to be pregnant have done all sorts to their bodies.
I was suffering terrible migraines when I concieved ds and was talking tension headache tablets like smarties.
I also got horrendously drunk (again didnt have a clue)
My friend went to Alton Towers when she was about 3 months, totally unaware and enjoyed the rides.

I think those of us who are actively ttc stress over little things which may not necessarily be in the best interests of our babies but have nonetheless been done by millions of women unknowingly before the get a BFP.

littlewifey · 03/01/2009 08:50

Hi Ladies, Can I please join? Have been lurking for the last week.. so congrats to Bexxa, Evie and Trixie on your recent BFP's. I am also currently on the 2WW, well think I am.. this is day 25 for me. However, I've been doing the OPK sticks from ebay and haven't had a positive result and no idea if they just don't work (cheapies) or if my body doesn't work My cycle doesn't help either, as since a MMC over a year ago, I've had anything from 30 day cycle to 38!!
Mosschops30 I would agree that a lot of women unowingly do things, while we stress when trying to conceive! My SIL didn't know she was pg and she was drinking loads at parties etc before she found out. She's now got a healthy 3 month old

TrixieBelden · 03/01/2009 09:33

littlepea - my boobs mostly hurt at night. They woke me up a few times. They only started to hurt consistently throughout the day on the day AF was due.

Snowfalls - I was just the same, driving myself CRAZY, testing repeatedly too early and despairing. I used different kinds of (expensive) HPTs and didn't get a +ive till the day I was due.

bubblebell - I think that might rank in the annals of Worst New Years Ever. How are you feeling now?

minx - how maddening! Hope you get some answers soon.

Came home from holiday with my third cold of the season, and this one is a cracker. Grumpy grumpy grumpy. Here's to lots more BFPs in the next two weeks!

katster37 · 03/01/2009 11:18

Wow, congrats on all those BFPs, how jealous am I?!?! Not really, it's terrific!
Well, I am on CD16, had LOTS Of EWCMCDs 11 - 15 so am thinking I OV-ed yesterday, but not sure. BD-ed on CD9, 11, 12 and 14. Do you think the little sperm (eeew, hate that word!) could survive from CD12 until 15?? Hopefully some will have, anyhow!

Am not sure if this is updated correctly - feel free to change!

I am so weak. Did a test this morning, 5 days before af due and suprise suprise got a bfn. I am now promising myself and dp that I will note do another one until the 8th. 5 whole days away. I think it's important to remember a lot of people aren't actively ttc when they do, and they do all sorts of unwise things and end up with healthy babies.

Trixie, my boobs hurt so bad a couple of days ago, now i can feel some discomfort at night, but not much. Sickness now and again, but im not sure. Doesnt help that im packing boxes after boxes!! Will just have to wait, it does feel different but as always it could just be me.

Snowfalls, i have done 2 tests...way to early...will try to hold off too!! lol...

Littlewifey, I to had mc a year last Nov, well they call it that but the heart stopped at 11 wks, so they had to op. Its only this month, a good 13 months later that my cycle has been 29 days again, before it ranged from 32-35 after mc.....so i think that was my body getting ready again. I had some terrible clots which the doc said was the lining coming away, just took me alot longer than most, and the only ok that would work telling me i had ovulated was the dear ones...clearblue dig. I remember starting with them and buying 2 pks so i wouldnt be to early testing or too late....it was worth the money.

Hi to everyone else!!!

mosschops30 · 03/01/2009 15:34

bexaa thats given me great hope. I did a first response test yesterday (6 days early) and got a BFN.

Am still hoping for a BFP next week, have promised I wont test until next Friday which seems like a lieftime away.

(BTW am still waiting to be invited into the fold of this thread and added to the list cliquey indeed )

bubblebell1 · 03/01/2009 15:36

hi ladies!

didnt bother goin to hosp. my ds' are too hyped up to sit in a hospital waiting room and i dont have anyone to watch them. ive had enough of hospitals at the mo. plus the pain has gone completley now!!!! how confused am i.

i will however go if the pain comes back at all.

im keeping everything crossed except my legs that this month will be the month that everything returns to normal for me ive got a welcome party ready for AF when she turns up. party poppers, balloons the lot.

hope you are all well. not going too crazy in your 2ww.

i know its hard but try and stop yourself testing til due date. the results are so unreliable xxxxx

bubblebell1 · 03/01/2009 15:37

Aww moss... whats your details and i will stick you in... or just add in yourself. the more the merrier xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

mosschops30 · 03/01/2009 15:40

Thank you was feeling left out

What do you need, Im not that good at my concieveing knowledge yet.
