OK girls, will go and get the list, but have lots of comfy sofa's and chairs, chocolate cake and virtual champagne.

Good luck and positive vibes to us all!

Hi all,

Hope everyone is ok. Af as arrived and we have been for talk at clinic. They have suggested IVF so we start in 3 weeks with the drugs to get ovaries started and all that stuff.

Not sure what days af would be due or when things are due to happen so not sure if can stay on thread...

blackrock · 28/01/2009 21:35

Here comes the AF again, methinks... rumbles aloft....slopes off to find some comfort food.

Having CBT, and able to use it to a degree in the less anxious prone situations, and post anxiety otherwise.

Using the beta blockers at work, and they are working.

On the road to normality of sorts!

zen1980 · 29/01/2009 20:35

Hey everyone,
Hows everyone doing? Beanie so sad AF got you
Myself and DH have decided that we will not wait until AF returns but start TTC again now. Wasnt told of any reason to wait so I feel ok and feel that it gives me something to focus on now.Fingers crossed we wont need much TTC, did a pg test this morning and was BFN so suggests hormone levels have returned normal x

I've added 3 days to each as was last updated on Thursday - hope this is right.

My clearblue fertility monitor trial has finished, they say they say they will send me a printout of my cycles over the last 6 months.

Had a chat with my OH last night and he thinks I should stop using my fertility monitor all together! I cried! but I actually think he might have a point now that I know I will be having more investigations and I have a good idea of when I ovulate anyway. He thinks it will take the pressure off us both and I can see his point.

wave to all.

They rack up so fast, don't they?

I have to admit- I read around in the forum- tthere are so many out there that say the day they moved/got a new job/were otherwise distracted they got pregnant...not entirely unconvincing, even though a lot of that is probably post-hoc....
Anyway, might not be the worst not to use the monitor, Beanie. I was thinking hte same, actually, especially as I abou tknow when ov happens, and not that cheap either...

blackrock · 01/02/2009 21:27

They do Comma. My thermometer has run out of batteries, so have stopped temping for a bit.

Comma2 · 02/02/2009 15:15

Personnally I think temping is the worst stresser of all. I did it for a couple of years and was so glad when I got the monitor and stopped...forever hoping it won't drop and then all the guesswork that is still involved on when ov really is...huh. Not to talk about timing and whatnot. Not for me.

ClaireDeLoon · 02/02/2009 22:37

Hello all, sorry you're back at the top blackrock, comma and beanie

Re the temping/monitor thing I temped for 6 months, that gave me time to understand my cycle and then it was a blessed relief to give up. But everyone is different, if it ain't a problem for you to do it and you don't feel stressed why not continue? If like me opening your eyes on a morning is a real struggle let alone focusing on a thermometer reading then don't stress.

beanieb · 03/02/2009 10:51

Am struggling to keep positive today. My day three test has come back at 12.2 when Ideally they are looking for under 10 and nearer 7

I had an internal scan and they could see a folicle on the right and say I should ovulate soon but then when I asked for my blood tests and they went through it they mentioned the peri-menopause which has really upset and worried me.

I haven't cried, I just figure what's the point getting upset, but I am just so worried now that I am basically never going to have a child or children.

Once again the person I saw noted that I had missed the deadline for free ivf by a couple of months and said 'you must be gutted' which I thought was a bit crap.

I have called the other clinic about my HSG and it looks like I am going to have to wait until March to have that as it's too late in this cycle.

I don't know what to say to my OH.

Comma2 · 03/02/2009 14:08

Oh that is nice! To hell with insensitive infertility-people! Better gut him, I say.

On the bright side, I would think if they find something, they can try and fix it. Even peri-menopause should be somewhat reversible, as far as I understand. Did you read up on this stuff yet? Anyway, if you have a follicle, you wouldn't be menopausal....

Tell your OH what they told you. You are together in this.

Hang in there.

beanieb · 03/02/2009 14:19

If they find that I am just old and menopausal I am not sure they can do anything. I don't think I will even be allowed Clomid.

I am far too negative for this thread and so I am going to try to stay away for a while. I have some stuff to sort out in my head.

Hi ladies - long time no speak. I fell off the wagon for a bit, have been trying hard not to obsess, and feel much calmer about it all. (at the moment!)
Have been having acupuncture since November and that has made me more relaxed. So much so that i had two 29 day cycles back to back!
Doctor has put me on clomid for three cycles now, I start whenever TEW turns up. He seems to think it will work for us, although I am hearing very mixed messages from everyone.
Anyway, hope you are all okay, sorry to see some familiar faces on here still. We shall overcome!
Beanie- I'm really sorry you are struggling at the mo, I hope they can help you. x
Lou xxx

Jaamy · 03/02/2009 16:10

Hi Lou - I was on Clomid for just 2 cycles when I got a BFP with DD1. We'd been trying for 3.5 years so a success story here. Hope it works for you. Had also been having reflexology at the time so the acupuncture could play a part for you too.

ShayeraHol · 03/02/2009 18:41

beanie, I'm really sorry you're struggling at the moment. If you do take time out from here then hope it helps you - and we'll be here for you if/when you need us. Can't believe some of the things they're saying to you - so bloody insensitive.

Just found out that my company's relocating in about 5 months - so not sure how much time & energy I'm going to have for TTC with the hassle of house selling etc.! What timing they have...

zen1980 · 03/02/2009 20:39

Hey everyone,
Beanie - sorry about appointment today, medical ppl can be so insensitive its unbelievable!! I know how you feel about being negative when you jus want to lift your head up but keep your hopes there as it is definatly not over and there are positive things to take from today. Hope you will stick around

Shayerahol - what a bummer about work, they too are inconsiderate!!

I'm not doing too well today have lost my voice for the 1000th time, and feel like crap, and desperate for af to turn up so can ttc. Its driving me mental!!

Hey to everyone else, Lou, Jammy and sorry for those who ive forgot x

Jaamy · 04/02/2009 14:27

Sorry beanie - completely missed your post. I'm so sorry that the appt didn't go well. How are you today? Please talk to your OH. I'm not going to say that children are more inportant that OHs or vice versa but you really need someone to go through this with you and no one is closer than your OH. I'm sure he has feelings too that he wants to talk about.

Can you get a break away to just try and relax without other distractions together? Easier said than done but I think it might give you chance to talk and who cares if you're not sure what to say and it all comes out muddled, it's better said than not at all.

Take care x

blackrock · 04/02/2009 18:51

Beanie. We are here to talk to, but OH is the best one, and you are certainly not too negative. I know it is hard, but do try to stay as relaxed as possible. Distract yourself with preparations for you ad OH. Distraction is good therapy, and cannot do any harm.

Jaamy · 05/02/2009 21:15

Hello all! CD29 and no sign of anything AF, pg or otherwise. It does, however, look like I've sneezed in my knickers ever time I go to the loo Sorry if TMI. This is good, isn't it? Isn't it?

I've done a little search for some on the list that we haven't heard from for a while - if only to stop me from reaching for the nearest HPTK - and found recent BFPs for theboob and mummy2t. Very many CONGRATULATIONS to you! Hope the others who have gone a bit AWOL are all ok. x
Also tidied up the graduate list so it only goes back 6 months. May be it will encourage us to get onto that short but perfectly formed list!

Jaamy that sounds very exciting! I am hopeful for you!! Are you feeling brave enough to test soon?

Comma2 · 05/02/2009 23:46

Jaamy, yes great! Very good sign. Got my fingers crossed for you.

I am fed up with ttc...stupid miscarriage has transformed me from being perfectly relaxed about it into hysterical obsessive. I am not going to check in for a while (yeah right) just to calm down and enjoy the moment.

Cheers and good luck to everyone!

Jaamy · 06/02/2009 11:53

Comma - please take care and come back from time to time, hopefully with some good news. Or even for a bit of a moan - I'll probably still be here x

After telling everyone not to give up hope I think I'm on the verge of doing just that. AF arrived this morning, after lulling me into a false sense of excitement the last 2 days. Good job I didn't waste a test on her! A lot and emotional and very because I was sure we had caught the bean this time. Am waiting for DH to come home so we can figure out when he'll be around for a doctor's appt. Got to know one way or the other whether I'm ever going to get this or are we flogging a dead horse.

Claire are you hopeful this month? May be the new relaxed approach will work. [jaamy scoops up babydust that missed her and throws it in Claire's direction]

ClaireDeLoon · 06/02/2009 13:58

Comma sorry it is all so hard at the moment, as Jaamy said anytime you need to talk we're here. Hoping for a sticky bean for you in the meantime.

Jaamy sorry she got you

I'm on CD2 I just was too not bothered to update the stats and I wasn't even upset this month or very hopeful.
