I love the Christmas decs (but not as much as I love the champagne!)

I've just worked out I'll be ovulating over Christmas week around 22nd onwards and we're both off work so we'll be able to pretend we're just having relaxing holiday sex not having a baby sex

Morning all. Went to the Hospital today to see a Urologist as I had a scan a few months ago and they found intermittent swelling in my Ureta valve. Not sure what I expected but I feel disappointed. I went originally because I had a swollen node in my groin and pains just below my ribs. Anyway the Dr I saw said they shouldn't really have used the term intermittent as it doesn't make sense for that part of the body. She says it may not be a urology thing but they are going to send me for some kind of injection into my veins and an xray!

I told her I was TTC so she said I should take a urine sample when I get the appointment as they will need to check that I am not pregnant.

Then...

ahe asked me how many times I have sex :O! I told her that I was using a fertility monitor so we went for it during my fertile time nad she said from a urologists point of view I should be having sex every two days!!

I know some people think you should have a day on then a day off, but every two days?!? Her reason was that my OH would be 'pumping out low quality sperm'

I always thought this was rubbish and that the accepted method was to just have sex as much as possible?

Then she said 'oh I know what it's like, me and my friends have been through all this and it's so commen for women to have children late as they build their careers'!!

I'm really annoyed. She's presumably not a fertility expert? I know she was trying to be kind bu my career has sod all to do with me not having had babies yet.

Hrmmmph!

Hello all - I am new, can I join?
Joining after recommendation from sis who uses mums net a lot.

So...my story...lets see if i get all the abbreviations right!! ttc dc #1 since May / June... no luck yet. Regular AF's which is good cos I don't have the whole thing of when should i test?

And...it's good just to read things from people in same position and not feeling like I'm some weirdo for being a little bit anxious sometimes!!

peacelily CD means cycle day, so CD1 is the first day of your period, and you're not thick, it took me ages to get the gist of it.

Hello ladies,
love the new thread title!

I have stopped (finally)feeling sorry for myself after a month of weekly acupuncture. it is FAB. I am very chilled, have cried lots, which i think has helped me finally let go of the baby. I am looking forward to Crimbo and spending time with my lovely nieces.
Sorry for not being around much, didnt want to drag everyone down along with me.
Am feeling much more positive, and hoping for a BFP for me and all the other people on here who have been waiting for so long and being so lovely and supportive.

You're being so brave. You really deserve your BFP, and a very sticky one. I hope we all get one soon. It's comforting, from a selfish perspective, to see other people on the list who have been here as long as I have, but in the nicest possible way I wish none of us were here.

beanie - every day is fine as long as your OH doesn't have issues with his fertility I think (so needing longer for his fella's to regroup). But I could be wrong - its all so confusing.

Hi everyone, af arrived an hour or so ago so back to CD1 for me cycle 3.

Have had a chat with dh and even though it's only our 3rd cycle because of this postgrad diploma I'm doing and the fact it's Christmas and we've had a tough few month s( he's been knocked back at job interview which meant the world to him) we've made a decision to still have unprotected sex when we feel like it but no ov sticks, no timetable, and drink what we want caffiene and alcohol!

If it happens it happens if not we've decided to go for it properly next year ie being healthy drinking grapefruit juice, him taking zinc znd such like. Don't think I'm going to bother again with ov sticks for a while though, just seemed to make everything so stressful then waiting for af to arrive, hellish.

Good luck and lots of festive babydust to all you babydancing lovely ladies out there. Fingers crossed for an extra xmas/new year surprise for us all this year! xx

Well ladies... after the BFN earlier in the week and no sign of AF I peed on a digital stick and... BFP!

Yippee! I can't believe it!!!

peacelily I like what you are saying, after 2 mc's this year, I'm trying to do what you're doing, being relaxed about the whole thing, but it isn't easy. Good luck xx
