Bucky - I remembered that your hospital appointment was today, so wanted to check in and wish you the best of luck with it. If your health authority gets a move on with a referral we could be IVF cycle buddies Please come back and let us know how you get on and what the doctor says.

Caitni - I LOVE the idea of a Belfast sink planter for growing salad leaves and £5 is SUCH a bargain. I thought you'd be fighting off DIY enthusiasts who wanted authentic sinks for their country kitchens to drive the price up. Well done! I am so jealous of you having a garden (GG an her DH = urban squalour flat dwellers) and can just imagine you and your DH being like Tom and Barbara from the Good Life

Readyfor2and3 - I share caitni's envy of you having twins and one of each too. You and MOB are so lucky. Maybe IVF will bless me with two little ones, although even one would be perfect. Congratulations on a good 20 week scan and hope the baby readying preparations are going well!

Ei - love the new Easter name . If your AF is late, you've got to TEST woman! We need some more good BFP news round here!

hello MrsH and everyone else. MOB - thinking of you, if you are about.

I got my Naughty Nun costume in the post this morning . Had to sneak it out my pigeon hole and dive into my office in case anyone say it . It's a bit cheap and nasty (thin static inducing nylon - nice!), but, hell, it will do the job for a party! I'm not splashing out £50 for the full Vatican approved, as seen on Julie Andrews, suitable for your very own "Climb Every Mountain" moment stylee, habit and wimple you could hire

speak later and have a lovely day whatever you are up to.

GorgonsGin · 16/04/2009 11:40

p.s. - our next Wimbewai(n)f meet up should be a campervan convention or brownies 'n' guides style camping session

PicknMix · 16/04/2009 13:04

Afternoon all!

Am liking the name Ei, have all limbs crossed for you - when are you going to test!??

Good luck at the hospital today Bucky, really hope its a positive experience for you, will be thinking of you so make sure you pop back and let us know how it went

MrsH I'm really pleased to hear that the scan was all good and you're able to put your feet up a bit now. Going to have to get cracking on a cyber name for him/her soon - 'Happylet' doesn't really work

Its lovely to hear from you MOB but I'm really sorry to hear about the scare you've had. Step away from google and try and get some rest. Really hope the twins can stay put a bit longer, will be thinking of you next wednesday.

GG the outfit sounds v fun - not so keen on the nylon aspect but am sure you'll do Julie Andrews proud .

Am deffo up for the camper van WIMBERWAI[N]F meet - my friends have converted their transit van (we're so classy!) to accomodate surf boards plus beds for riders, it even has a little fridge so kinda counts as a camper, can I come in that!?!?

Sorry I can't help with your blood test results Caitni - I did read your thread and was pleased to see someone could alay some of your concerns though. Congrats on the sink buying!!! When you finish your garden do you fancy doing ours?! Its like a meadow at the moment - my friend offered to bring her Shetland pony round to trim it down . 'We' (and by we I mean DH ) managed to dig over the veggie patch so its ready for planting (bit late this year) so just have to decide what to grow. Am gonna go for salad'y' and fruit things as we get a veg box delivered from a local farmer.

I'm supposed to be working from home but its just not happening today!

Temps still all over the place here for anybody who wants a nose

or maybe here?

Madoldbird · 16/04/2009 16:32

Hi ladies

Bucky Hope the appt goes really well for you - have been thinking of you.

EI Looking good for you... let us know if you test

Caitni Your trip sounds like it was fantastic! Sorry to hear your blood test result was a bit mixed - I'm sure this one you had today will show you have lots of lovely eggs left.

RFN2 Glad your scan went well - and congrats on one of each! How's the bump?! Mine's enormous now, but i still can't quite believe there's 2 babies in it

GG With all that nylon - don't stand too near a naked flame at the party!!! We MUST have pics of you in this outfit!!

PnM Had a peek at your chart. Don't worry too much about the fluctuations at the beginning of your cycle. I used to find that mine were all over the place in the first week or so(so much so that on several occasions i went out and bought HPTs ). Hopefully it will settle down. I'll keep an eye on your chart in a non-stalkerish kind of way!

Several of you asked how many weeks i am - i'm 26 weeks tomorrow. So i'm at the stage where they would stand a chance if they had to come out now, but the longer they stay in there the better the survival rates.

JollyBear · 16/04/2009 21:04

Hello peeps,

GG Sounds like quite the outfit! I do like a fancy dress party, it does liven things up. Hope you have a great time.

bucky Hope the appointment went well today.

MOB What a worry. Scans can be wrong so things might actually be fine. I suspect it is really hard to get an accurate measurement with two of them in there. Hope you get good news on your next scan and your boys get longer cooking time.

PnM I agree with MOB that give it a few more days and your chart should hopefully settle and make more sense. It is a bugger that going private would mean you'd have to do all the tests again. Your PCT are crap.

Your garden must be huge to need a pony as a lawnmower! Our garden is tiny but we have two blackcurrent bushes and a rhubarb plant - they are much easier to grow than vegetables! I plant beans and other veg every year and spend vast amounts of time trying to keep slugs off them.

ei Love the Easter name! GO and test NOW or at least post your chart so we can have a nosy .

caitni Your holiday sounds lovely. My parents went round Europe in a camper van for their honeymoon. I've always fancied one myself!

MrsH Hope the nausea eases up soon.

RFN2 One of each, how lovely!

No more jollycub teeth to report, thank goodness!

BuckyIsLucky · 16/04/2009 21:24

Hey JB very impressed with your blackberry bushes! You girls never cease to amaze me . Glad Jollycub hasn't had further toothage before time!!

PnM I'm rubbish at reading charts, but it looks very pretty .

MOB 26 weeks ???? OMG when did THAT happen??? . It was only the other day you were having IVF . I think JB did a fabulous job of being objective and sensible so I concur with all she said...Let us know how the next scan goes and lets hope than twin 2 was just hiding behind twin 1. Just playing a little bit of hide and seek perhaps .

Well, I went to the hospital and waited forever as they were running 2 hours late! Never played so much solitaire on my iPhone! . Anyway, you all know how it goes now...we were referred for IVF. So DP and I have to go back for blood tests for HIV, hep C etc and I have to have a scan to check ovaries etc. Then depending on my scan date, I get an appointment see the nurse who sends off the forms to Hammersmith Hospital. Then off we go to waiting list for 6-9 months. Apparently the wait is about 6 months including one cycle...whatever that means! I have also been sent home with a prescription for loads of clomid that I have to continue to take in the meantime. So, credit where credit is due, they were very proactive, but the wait , AGES!!!!

Ah well, I am already planning my next girls holiday so I will get to fit that in in the meantime .

Hope you are all having a good evening. Just wanted to fill you in on what happened.

SmilingEi · 16/04/2009 22:04

hi ladies
hope all is well
bucky good news about the referral and clomid so hopefully you wont need the referral after all
MOB when do you have to go back to find out what is what with the boys?? i hope all is well and 26 weeks!! thats flew over!!
PnM i couldnt see your chart for some reason!! boooo!! i love a good nosey at a chart i do
here is my chart if ya fancy a look
so no news from me yet except no AF, loads of CM, pains low down, and a general feeling from me im now 14DPO and my usual LP is 11 days so...late what dya'll think??
xx ei xx

PicknMix · 17/04/2009 07:15

Just a quick one from me.....

Ei I think I speak for all the WIMBEWAI[N]Fers when I say TEST WOMAN TEST

Of course, no pressure or anything.....

xx

MrsHappy · 17/04/2009 09:13

Hi all

Bucky that is good news about the IVF referral. So it'll take a while to work your way up the list, but at least you have got the ball rolling. And if you need to know anything about the Hammersmith you can ask GG about her experiences there.

MOB I'm sorry to hear you are having such a worrying time with your twins. Obviously the longer they stay in the better, but at least you are getting further along every day. I am told that scans are not as accurate re weights and sizes as people like to pretend, so hopefully you will get better news next time.

Picknmix as someone else said, charts often can be a bit bouncy in the first week after your period. Other than those two very low days your temps look pretty normal to me. I shall keep stalking your chart though, cos you know I am nosy!

Caitni I'm glad you had fun in the camper van. If it isn't yours do you hire it from somewhere? Can you tell I want famous five style camper van adventures? I'll be posting the stuff today, by the way. I completely forgot yesterday. You're very creative using a sink for a planter. Alan Titchmarsh will be looking over his shoulder!

GG that nun's costume sounds delightful. Just stay away from naked flames!

JB glad all is well and that the teeth have stopped coming. I have gardening aspirations too and have to buy lots of plants because only 10% will survive the Mrs H treatment!

RFN2 you are so lucky having one of each. I wish I could have done that the first time around - it's a sort of organised woman's way of having children. Like Margaret Thatcher.

Ei I agree with PNM, test please! Aside from anything else, don't you need to start drugs if you are pg? Plus I am v nosy (but you already knew that ).

News from here? Well the nausea seems to be letting up a bit but whenever I think that it clobbers me again. I'm getting a bit stressy about the lack of work - and I am not going to fit into my interview suit before long (since I have bloated out really quickly this time), but hey, it'll come good in the end. And either way, I get to spend my time knitting baby blankets! We've finally told DD about the baby. I expected her to just sort of forget about it, but she is really interested. She's been telling me that the baby will have to sleep in my room, asking if I will breastfeed the baby and telling me she is going to share her baby toys with "our baby". It's incredibly nice.

Caitni · 17/04/2009 13:20

Hi ladies,

happy friday to everyone!!

MrsH that is so sweet about your daughter - I'm so glad that she's showing such positive interest. I have two nieces in London and the older one is just so sweet with the younger one. I just love it (it helps that I'm quite close to all my siblings, my sisters in particular!). And try not to stress about the work situation - you can start humming que sera, sera as your new mantra . And if you fancy a little camper vanning then I can highly recommend Vanilla Splits (we chose Florence)

MOB I hope you're doing OK - I'd echo what everyone else has said about the unreliability of the scans at this stage. I'll be keeping my fingers fervently crossed for maximum cooking time for your little boys

GG that outfit sounds hilarious (though potentially a fire hazard ). I had to laugh at your Tom & Barbara comment - my best friend's two cats are called that after the show . My DH is keeping his distance a little bit (prob cos he knows the gardening is a ttc/IVF distraction!) but enjoys sitting in the garden drinking beer and chatting to me as I weed/sow/mutter to the plants to help them grow (he's also a little obsessed with all the "worm action" around the compost...if you ever meet him no doubt he'll quickly tell you that there's lots of "worm action"...can you tell I think it sounds wrong??). Still, since we're only renting I've decided to use this garden as "school" for when we have a garden of our own and I can really get to work . And you're right about the price of some of the Belfast sinks - seems that if the description includes the magic word "vintage" then the bids go crazy!

Bucky yay for the referral! And for filling your boots with Clomid . Lucky you getting Hammersmith too, like GG. The wait till fly, especially as you can fit in a girlie holiday in the meantime. Wish I could do you a porno bunny but will have to do instead!

Ei god, when you will you TEST woman!!! Me nerves are shot, I need some positive news!!! I echo with MrsH, don't you need to let your consultant know as soon as you're preggers? I'm so happy for you though, and will be keeping my fingers crossed for a happy and healthy 9 months for you

PnM sounds like you're pretty organised with your veg patch...so far I've planted spinach, courgettes, lettuce and some random herbs (like borage, to help the strawberries that are already there, and camomile). I've also got some carrots ready to show, and then need to sort out rocket, spring onions and whatever herbs I stick in the planter (am also tempted by tomatoes, potatoes, raspberries and blackberries, space allowing). I'm trying to do companion planting, so have things like nasturiums ready to plant out as well. Though I'd love if the grass looked like a meadow! I'm thinking of trying to work more clover into it (I have a personal vendetta against expanses of plain grass - terrible for insects!)...now if only there were more time in the week for all of this

JB wow, what a lovely honeymoon for your parents! So romantic...

RFN2&3 waves to you and your twins

So I was a bit mugged by my emotions last night - suddenly turned on DH as he innocently finished a beer, ranting/crying that if IVF didn't work it would be because of his beer () and also wondering whether we should just go to Norway for treatment instead...Felt much better by this morning though, so reckon it's just the stress of waiting for the AMH results.

Am so glad it's the weekend. A Greek Cypriot friend is having a big lunch tomorrow to celebrate Orthodox Easter, so reckon it'll be sore heads chez moi on Sunday!

JollyBear · 17/04/2009 20:07

Just a very quick post as there is sme snuffly crying starting up.... but, ei is that a + I see on your chart?!!

MrsHappy · 17/04/2009 20:10

Oh my god. Ei - I see that + sign too. Yay!

(don't cry, JB, it'll be ok )

PicknMix · 17/04/2009 21:14

I spy with my little Ei (do you like what I did there?!) a Big Fat Positive

Woooohoooo!!!

Caitni · 17/04/2009 21:23

SmilingEi · 17/04/2009 22:21

Caitni · 18/04/2009 07:39

Ei, I think it's a good sign getting a positive with afternoon wee as it's still very early days . Fingers crossed that this morning's test result is stronger. And it's only natural that you're worried, but every pregnancy is different [caitni throws ei all the positive and sticky vibes she can]. We're all here for all the hand-holding you need

SmilingEi · 18/04/2009 09:02

readyfornumber2and3 · 18/04/2009 10:02

Congratulations EI
What a fab way to start the weekend

digitalgirl · 18/04/2009 17:24

lurk lurk

keeping my fingers crossed EI

MrsHappy · 18/04/2009 19:28

Ei those line ones (FR, BD, Boots etc) don't come up dark for me until I am about 40dpo! Get a CBD and get it in words. As you are late it should work any time of day - just hold you wee for 4 hours and pee away!

(And quiet congratulations from me )

MrsHappy · 19/04/2009 12:17

That's a pretty good temp rise today Ei. Did you pee on another stick this morning?

Caitni · 19/04/2009 19:11

Just a quick message to say hi to everyone.

Ei that's one nice temp rise today alright (god, I only thing I love more than chart stalking is stalking a positive chart!!).

Hope everyone else has had a great weekend - I love the sun!

xx

BuckyIsLucky · 19/04/2009 22:20

CONGRATULATIONS Ei ....sending sticky vibes your way, do another test and let us know how you get on. (higs).

Madoldbird · 20/04/2009 09:50

Incredible busy day... but had to pop in for news!!! Congratulations EI I know it's early days, and that you must be anxious, but my hands can be grabbed as tight as you need. We're all here willing this to be a sticky one! Do you have to get in touch with the consultant now?

Hello to everyone else. Be back properly soon. XX
