Lots of luck for this morning GG. I hope they eggstract lots of eggs, that they are all eggcellent and that the process is not uncomfortable. Let us know how you get on.

I hope MrGG is able to do his part (sure he will be). Actually one of my biggest concerns when we were considering AC was that if we did IUI my DH would have to visit the wanky porn room and produce every 5 weeks or so. When I told him he would need to do that he asked could he not just go once and the clinic freeze some! My face did this: .

LMAO at the copious quantities of CM. Perhaps you should take a photo and put it on the internet to make those os us who produce normal amounts paranoid!

I'm glad to hear everything is going well MOB, and how nice to have twin boys. Now you can get on with only thinking of boy names...

We're counting down to our holiday on Friday. I still need to get out my summer clothes, check they still fit (I am lardy these days) and make sure I have everything I need. But somehow since I stopped working it is awfully hard to motivate myself!

Yesterday I saw the local midwife to get boooked in the system. It is a bit soon but sometimes London hospitals get full a bit quickly and I wanted to make sure everything was in okace before my hols. She's booked me into our local hospital (which is not the one where I go for the EPAU but which is far more convenient). Either way the EPAU that I go to is going to give me a scan in three weeks to check everything is still going ok. I am feeling quite sick a lot of the time so I hope that is a good sign.

Higs to everyone I haven't mentioned. I hope you are all well.

Caitni · 24/02/2009 10:47

Morning ladies

GG I hope the egg collection goes well and it's not too painful. I hope they retrieve a good number, and even more importantly I hope the ICSI goes well. I'm going to be checking here obsessively later and tomorrow to see what your news is .

Bucky that is absolutely fab news about your PCT's better funding! Am as our PCT is rubbish (one attempt, waiting list of a year) and annoyingly our GP is actually in Islington PCT which has much better funding and waiting lists . Still, I'm resigned to doing our first attempt privately anyway as there's no way my sanity would surive a year's wait...

MrsH good idea getting booked in early - it means you can enjoy your holiday without that added worry . And the sickness is definitely a good sign...roll on three weeks for your scan!

MOB so lovely to see you - and baby boys!! How wonderful! I'm very glad to hear the pregnancy's going well

Waves to PnM & RFN2&3

So I'm having the strangest cycle ever, as am now on cd 26 and on second day of very light spotting. Since I had an ultrasound on CD11, which showed an egg almost ready to pop, I really thought I'd ov'd on CD12 so was expecting a normal 24 day cycle. I've never had a cycle longer than 24 days except when I had the CP in Sept...Of course, despite my promise to myself not to, I did a FR this morning and BFN (I was even though rationally I know that our likelihood of natural conception is so low...). I'm going to chart next month as I need to get my FSH, LH & Oestradiol tested on day 2-5 so I want to be sure when things are happening! Wish my body wouldn't mess with my head like this, though I bet typing this has made my period show up!

Anyway, got to run this was supposed to just be a quick post to wish GG luck as I've got heaps on at work at the moment!

Bucky2008 · 24/02/2009 11:25

Just dropping in quickly to say I have booked a table at the Engineer for Saturday. I had to change the time to 13.00pm, hope this is OK.

MOB I have requested you as a friend on FB so that if you want to come I can add you to the attendees.

I have booked for 5, Caitni, GG, PnM, DG and Me. Ei, let me know if you are coming, MrsH is on hols...Did I miss anyone?

OP posts:
Caitni · 24/02/2009 11:52

Bucky you are an organisational genius!! I saw your note on FB and was racking my brains and couldn't get further than Lemonia (my knowledge of primrose hill is sadly lacking). But now you say the Engineer and I suddenly remember that I had a tremendous lunch there with colleagues a while ago. Great choice. Can't wait to see everyone (though we'll miss all you non-attendees )

GorgonsGin · 24/02/2009 13:19

hello there, just a quickie post because I am at home again lying on the couch with a blanket and very sleepy

MOB - two little boys!! I am all excited and happy for you and hoping that some of your good fortune rubs off on me!! Are you coming to th emeet up?

I think it went well this morning - at least I hope so! Much quicker than I thought because we were first on the operating list. They got 11 eggs I think that is quite good....? . I over heard the lady in the bed next to me (couldn't help but hear - it's the NHS so packed in like sardines with only a curtain between us) and she was undergoing her fourth cycle . they got 9 eggs from her though so that has to be good news.

It interested me because by the sounds of it, she had undergone three cycles of private IVF already. I assume they ran out of money and joined the NHS queue, which in my health authority doesn't ban you from NHS treatment like in some places.

The egg transfer will probably be on Thurs or Fri - I get the call from the emryologist tomorrow to find out if they have fertiliased, how many and next steps. DH said he did his best to produce the best sample he could, so fingers crossed.

Looking forward to the meet up at the weekend . Thanks for organising Bucky

I'll catch up on all your posts and respond properly to everyone's news later when I wake up, 'cause I'm nodding off here .

Madoldbird · 24/02/2009 13:46

GG so pleased to hear you back and that it's all gone well. 11 eggs is very good. I've been thinknig about you all morning. Enjoy your rest this afternoon - i loved the spaced out feeling the drugs gave me!!!

Caitni at your strange cycle. I guess even if the egg was about to pop, it may have taken a few days to actual do it. (I am of course, secretly hoping that it turns into an extra long, 9 month cycle for you)

Bucky Thank you for finding me on FB! I am sadly lacking in friends at the moment!! How do i find the rest of you?? I didn't realise there was a meet up this weekend, I'll have to see what DH, DS & DD are up to, and then let you know.

Love to everyone else. XX

Caitni · 24/02/2009 14:26

GG 11 eggs - woo hoo! That's fantastic (or should that be eggscellent ). It's a really good number, as when we went for our consultation at the Lister she talked about how at my age they'd hope to retrieve 8 eggs and anything over that's a bonus. Glad to hear you're taking it easy this afternoon. An afternoon nap sounds like the perfect way to recover from the sedation and stress

MOB much as I'd also love a strange cycle that was 9 months long (tis the stuff of my dreams after all!) I reckon my egg must have gotten nervous at making its screen debut at the scan and hung around a bit longer. It's just the sonographer's reaction was "oh wow, that egg's about to be released" so I really thought (based only on CM admittedly) that CD12 was when I ov'ed. Would have tried to fit in a bit more action if I'd known it was going to hang around a bit longer . It would be great if you could make the meet up, as I'd love meet you "properly" IYKWIM

MrsHappy · 24/02/2009 15:50

Just a very quickie to say "YAY" for the 11 eggs, GG. Have a good rest.

PicknMix · 25/02/2009 08:40

Morning everyone,

Will be quick as am supposed to be working but wanted to say a big WOWZERS to GG on your egg collection , sounds like they got a bumper crop! Hope the sedation has worn off a little now so you feel more human again.

Hi to everyone else, be back later xx

MrsHappy · 25/02/2009 08:41

GG has the embryologist called yet? [nosy]

GorgonsGin · 25/02/2009 09:04

Morning ladies!

i am back in the office this morning, but think i should probably have taken the day off. My tummy is all swollen and I have bad period-type pains. I bumped into my horrid boss coming through the door (nickname = Delores Umbridge), who knew i would be off work yesterday with "health related issues" (that's as much as i am telling her) and the nosy cow kept asking questions "Are you feeling better today?" "What did you say was wrong with you....?"

MrsH - the embryologist is going to call me this afternoon with the news about how many of the eleven little blighters have fertalised and are looking healthy enough to progress to transfer, which may be as early as tomorrow. I am absolutely on tenterhooks today and can't concentrate at all [v. nervous emoticon].

Will post again later when i know more.

Hope everyone is happy and well,

GGx

GorgonsGin · 25/02/2009 09:30

I've just heard from the embryologist . Jeez, i am soooo jumpy today i nesrly fainted when the phone went!!!

Ok, this is what happened.....of the eleven eggs all were suitable for fertilisation (no duds ).

As of this morning, six have fertilised normally and are all the same size/continuing to divide . Due to my tuinnel vision about this, i have no idea if that's good or bad!? I think it's ok - the embryologist seemed quite pleased. I didn't want to compare myself to anyone and get stressed, so, deliberately, I have never really researched it!

Four didn't fertilise and one did fertilise, but was genertically abnormal (that'll be DH's fault )

She said they will grade them over the next 24 hours and see how they develop and transfer is scheduled for 9.30am tomorrow....

readyfornumber2and3 · 25/02/2009 12:02

Hi all just wanted to pop in and see how things are going

GG Wow things are definately moving fast for you and your DH, good news on the eggs and I hope that you get a really good sticky pair for the transfer tomorrow x (May see you on the twins threads soon )

MrsHappy Hope you and the bean are ok and that you and DD are looking forward to your holiday must say im rather of south africa x

Caitni How is the odd cycle going?

MOB Glad things are going well and congrats on the 2 little boys cant wait till my 20 week scan to see what we are having!

Hi to everyone else not mentioned and hope you are all well x x

PicknMix · 25/02/2009 12:35

In my [admitidly very novice] opinion that sounds like a good result GG

Best not to over analyse, totally agree with your decision not to compare to anybody else.

Will be cheering those 6 eggs on for the next 24hrs for you!!

At least you can [hopefully] not be quite so jumpy for the rest of the day now (although can't believe the transfer is scheduled for tomorrow!!).

Tell Delores to keep her beak out of your business. Or alternatively, stump her by saying "are you coming down with something yourself, you're looking very peaky" (thinly veiled criticism I appreciate, but she should know better).

MrsHappy · 25/02/2009 13:24

Hello

GG I'm sure I read that they look for about a 60% fertilisation rate with ICSI, so you sound exactly right. Anyway, that is 6(!) potential chances and I am sure you'll get a couple of top-notch embryos to transfer (can't believe that might be as soon as tomorrow - it's amazing). Your boss sounds a bit grim. If she keeps asking about yesterday you should invent some cervix-related malady and describe it in graphic detail. That'll learn her.

Well, nothing so exciting going on here. I had lunch at 10:30 this morning after concluding that the only thing that would make me feel less queasy was an egg mayo sarnie. More interviews tomorrow, then lots of packing. Bring on the jobs!

Hope everyone is well. xx

GorgonsGin · 25/02/2009 14:13

MrsH - good luck with the interviews! I am sure it's fine to have lunch at whatever time if is staves off the nausea. Can't believe you will be flying out to sunny SA in the next couple of days. By the time you get back, I might know what my BFP/BFN situtation is

picknmix - how are you doing today? Any news about referrals or anything.

hello to readyfor2and3 - I would LOVE to come and join you n the twins thread eventually, but i am trying to stay grounded and not get carried away with imagining anything at the moment.

I am doing accupuncture too (supposed to be eggcellent for implantation) and you go for a session before transfer and another session straight after, so my first Mr Needles appointment is at 7.15am tomorrow morning

Caitni · 25/02/2009 14:29

GG that is such great news about the number of fertilised eggs! I'm so happy and relieved for you that this stage is over . I'm hoping they all develop eggstra well overnight. And transfer tomorrow - wow! I'm going to be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Great that you've booked in with Mr Needles btw - pre & post ET is when it's supposed to help most . Hope it helps your tummy feel better too. Your boss sounds horrid by the way!

MrsH good luck with the interviews! And that sarnie sounds like a great way to stave off sickness

Big waves to PnM Bucky RFN2&3 MOB

JollyBear · 25/02/2009 16:24

Woweeee GG that's wonderful news! I did post a few days ago (to congratulate you on a bumper egg collection) but it must have gone awol . How very eggciting! Did you decide to take a holiday for the 2ww or are you waiting it out at home? Ignore your boss, she sounds awful and VERY nosy.

MOB Twin boys That is such good news. Have you names in mind yet?

MrsH Glad to hear things are progressing well. Good luck with the interviews.

Hello and big higs to PnM, bucky, caitni (is af still awol? - I hope so ), RFN1&2 and ei.

Bucky2008 · 25/02/2009 17:17

Fab news GG. Hope all goes well tomorrow. Higs.

Tell your mean boss you have the Ebola virus and that if she comes to close she might catch it and the flesh eating bug may eat her face off.... Stupid woman hope she gets a Pinocchio book for Xmas.

OP posts:
GorgonsGin · 25/02/2009 17:48

Bucky - LOL at Ebola Virus. I was very tempted to say I'd got the clap and I spent the day at the GUM clinic, just to see the look on her face. She's such a cow - she's reported someone to HR for working from home without her written permission. We work from home all the time! Sheer vindictiveness, but in this job market I am anxious not to antagonise her

Actually, i got Delores in this year's secret santa. I bought her a venus fly trap . Don't cross GorgonsGin!

What of everyone else's news? I fell like I've hijacked the thread for my eggs and their day to day progress. Are the non-PG ladies still temping and cycle monitoring?

Looking forward to the meet up on Saturday! The Engineer is fabulous. i had my 27th birthday party there.....quite a few years ago!

GorgonsGin · 25/02/2009 17:49

Big hello to Jolly too!

PicknMix · 25/02/2009 20:23

Just eaten some slightly belated pancakes - yum! Esp with a bit of Nutella (although can't beat a bit of lemon and sugar)

Lovely to 'see' you JB, how is DD doing?

How are you Caitni? Has your af appeared yet??

Do you leave on Friday MrsH? I'm v of your trip - it's where DH and I were supposed to be going in April for a friends wedding but we cancelled as we wanted to save money just in case we needed to go down the IVF route. Really should learn to stop putting my life on hold for ttc - starting to regret our decision of not going now . Good luck for the interviews tomorrow - have my fingers firmly crossed for you.

Hows my SBB doing today? Are you ok Bucky?

Can you make it on Saturday MOB? Would be lovely to actually meet you! Great pictures on FB btw - the pic of you and your family from your wedding is beautiful.

How are you and DH doing EI? Big higs to you and him x

Nice to see you as well R4N2&3! How is pregnancy going for you?

Hi to anyone else I've inadvertantly missed...!

Worked from home today which was nice, was able to catch up on emails etc so feel a bit more organised.

No idea whats going on with my body at the mo - period finally stopped (7 days ) but copious amounts of cm (apol. tmi) so DH and I have decided to (again, tmi) make a real effort this cycle so its going to be an every other day month for us. Oh Yes. Who said romance was dead? DH is already looking tired and we're only on day 5!!

Trying desperately to remove the negativity surrounding ttc at the mo - MrsH was it you who used a hypno cd? If yes, would you recommend it?

Madoldbird · 26/02/2009 06:37

GG 6 eggs fertilised - that's a great reult!! Hope ET goes really well. Will of course, be thinking of you. X

Not ignoring the rest of you - just in a mad rush!! Back to talk to the rest of you soon.

PicknMix · 26/02/2009 07:44

You'll be at Mr Needles right now but just in case you pop on before going to the hospital, I am thinking of you today GG and hope the transfer goes well. Am also v excited (eggcited?) for you!!

Caitni · 26/02/2009 15:10

Hi all,

just popping on to see if GG had any news - hope the transfer went swimmingly!

MrsH not sure if you'll have time to pop on before Sth Africa, but hope you have a great holiday (and hope the interviews went well too ).

PnM I know what you mean about getting past the negativity that can come with ttc, I was so down before Christmas it was grim, so went through that "conscious decision to be more positive" thing too...a hypno cd may help but sounds like you and your DH have an excellent plan for this month

CD 3 for me and am back on the temping this month (also need to get some sticks for the CB monitor too). I want to know exactly when I ov this month - no surprises!

Hi to Ei Bucky JollyBear MOB RFN2&3 and everyone else. Hope you're all well.
