Hello and happy New Year. Did test early-ish with standard PG test kit so not ideal conditions (sorry but suspense killing me). Came up BFN but AF not due until Sun/Mon. Not too fazed as enjoying birthday with friends and will re-test if no AF. What will be will be.

Have ordered OV sticks though so will give them ago in Feb (DH in Uganda for half of Jan!!)

Hoping babies are well and fellow TTCers are having fun

Mandy73 · 03/01/2009 19:53

Happy new year everyone!

Belgian great that you're back!

LOTS of love, hugs and new-year-well-wishes to everyone.

Sorry I've been rubbish at commenting but we've had more or less an Internet-free two weeks - must say it's been ever so de-stressing.

xx

HumphreysCorner · 03/01/2009 19:53

Aw, sorry about your BFN PurpleCrazyHorse-hopefully you will get a BFP very soon.

HC and Dawni - this thread has been such a massive help! I would never leave, but yes, it feels like bereavement each month. I'll be alright...I've just never experienced anything like this before. If I've wanted something really badly, I've worked my arse off to get it. I feel helpless and frustrated. I know things are moving fast for us (fertility helpwise), but 'wait and see' is a very new and unpleasant experience for me...

HC - I feel like you have been such a huge help to me. We've been handholding for over 6 months now! I'm sorry we are both struggling! 2009 seems like a good year for us though!!

Dawni - I am so happy you are feeling good about TTC because of the thread! And wow! I have no right to moan, do I!!!!

Myjob - Bells is still in 9-12 months clothes and she's 15 months. She looks so lovely and happy...and all is fine. Plus yes, the weight gain sounds really good!

Purple - wow your DH is off to Uganda...? How come? We went to Rwanda for our honeymoon about this time last year. It was amazing!!! Sorry about the BFN too!!! Has HC been telling you about the benefits of fertilityfriend??? I've found temping and to be really helpful. OV sticks and temping together might help!

Big waves all round!

Thanks for the FF info. Currently waiting to see if AF turns up. Either way at least I'll have a better idea of my cycle.

Bluestar: DH is supporting a local development charity and is going out as a photographer (his hobby but poss moving towards some paid work). Not my idea of fun and unfortunately really bad timing on TTC front. Congrats on the wedding last year - what an unusual honeymoon destination, was it beautiful?

Dawni · 04/01/2009 06:31

Morning ladies...

bluestar You moan all you like darling, no matter how long anyone has been trying, it really isnt easy, and its so hard sometimes to stay positive, its been a hard road for us on may an occasion but here we still are, hope it gives you some hope for the future {{sending love}}

Im sat here at stupid o'clock ready to go to work, I am utterly knackered after all the late night BDing, just hope its worth while !!! Lastnight was a bit of a struggle as poor DH wasnt in the mood, but he came through with the help of viagra and the troops marched in

No time to chat seriously, gotta go

Love to all

theboob · 04/01/2009 07:04

hi all
sorry not checked in for a while
its my birthday today and i have been up all night ill, really tired from BD everyday which i am now sick of

ment to be going out tonight with friends but if i carry on like this i'll be staying in my bed ,hope you are all well sorry not had time to read through all posts will catch up later, but fingers crossed for all on that 2ww

take care xxx

HumphreysCorner · 04/01/2009 11:21

Morning all

theboob-oh, sorry you feel poorly. Best stay in and get better.

Buestar-how are you today?

Dawni-day off tomorrow for you.

Had a very feint +ive on my OPK so if I go by last month it will be much stronger in a weeks time. Last month we did the every day BDing when I saw the feint line but by the time it was bright we were knackered. So, am doing the every other night until it gets brighter. DH said he won't have a few soldiers tonight, he will have a big army!

Ironing to do and veg to prepare for tea so better get on.

Love to all Bonkers, Bonked and Bonker's Babies.

Morning all

Hope you are feeling better soon theboob - and Happy Birthday

HC - good luck with the plan of attack this month

BS2009 - don't feel bad about feeling down on here...we all have our own individual experiences of what you are feeling.

MJIM - think you have the right approach of what to do with Naomi and her feeding. Some babies are just little (and lovely ) and like you say, as long as she is happy and healthy, then best not to worry.

I have booked an early private scan for 27th Jan when I will be 8 weeks, which also happens to be our wedding anniversary....so fingers crossed for a double celebration) as I can't face the prospect of waiting for 12+ weeks to see that this pg has developed as it should. An indugent luxury we can't really afford, but if things are not ok, then I would rather know sooner than later.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 05/01/2009 07:38

Ok. AF late and have a BFP of about half the pinkness of the test line (instructions say this doesn't matter) - did follow instructions to the letter this time. Haven't told anyone other than MN and will buy a fancy test today if still no AF.

[Shaking!]

Don't want to believe quite yet. Will update later.

detoxdiva · 05/01/2009 07:54

PurpleCrazyHorse.....wow.....sounds promising . I used a Clearblue Digital after getting a feint pink line on one of my cheapo Ebay tests....keeping my fingers crossed for you, but it sounds good to me

HumphreysCorner · 05/01/2009 08:53

That sounds like a +ive to me PurpleCrazyHorse. The test for DD2 didn't appear straight away so had a shower then looked at it and saw a feint line. Update us later won't you?

Last dayn of school hols today and my diet starts tomorrow after I get weighed tonight at WW.

Love to all!

Thanks for the support. DH suspects I think, as it's a bit tricky to pee on the stick without it sounding odd He hasn't said anything so that's fine by me, don't want to get his hopes up unless I'm pretty confident. Will pick up a decent test after work.

Anyone else felt weird telling their parents? I don't really have personal chats with mine and them knowing we BD is freaking me out!

HumphreysCorner · 05/01/2009 09:44

Lol-I wee in the jug that DH uses to wash his hair with then dip the sticks as I seem to have lost the ability to aim. I am v. close to my mum and dad and just told PIL outright the first time. The second time I wrapped a scan pic up for MIL.

Off out now, back later!

Hi to everyone - sorry I have been gone for the whole of Christmas its really good to be back though

I have scanned through the postings and can't remember what has happened but basically

Purplecrazyhorse - as long as you have followed the instructions a line is a line!!

Mandy - contratulations on the result!

I am def ttc with a vengance from next month. Have a HSG test on 21st so will have to be the month after that. I am considering phoning up for the results of my 21 day blood test but fear the worst so I don't think I'll bother - just wait until I see the consultant in Feb! DH chickened out of his sperm test on his birthday so is doing it on 19th. He went off shopping to Asda over christmas and came back with zinc and vitamin c tablets so it is obviously on his mind! LOL!

Hi to everyone else! I think we need to do some stats soon......

DawnAS · 05/01/2009 15:10

Hello all,

BSL, how are you today hun? Feeling any better, I hope so!! I'll mail you soon.xx

HC, Good luck with the army tonight - hopefully they'll be firing all guns and have a good aim!!

Purple, as others have said, a line's a line!! With this one, the line was so faint that I didn't even notice it at first and threw it in the bin. Then I dragged it out 5 mins later and the line was there!! So faint though, DH had to look twice. So I did another one four days later and it was much darker. Good luck with doing another test tomorrow!!

Willmouse, welcome back! Hope you had a lovely Xmas and New Year!! Hoping 2009 is a good year for you hun!

DD well done you for booking that early test!! Sometimes these things have to come before money don't they, even if others may see it as a luxury. It'll be a luxury for you to be able to relax!! My 20 week scan is the 29th January (although I'll actually be 21w 1d - ). So hopefully we'll both have some good news that week!!

Mandy, welcome back hun - glad you had a peaceful Xmas!! After getting our all-clear last week, we're waiting for the confirmation letter to come through so that we can phone up and find out whether it's going to be a Mr Man or a Little Miss!! I'm convinced it's going to be a boy, DH thinks a girl. Well, at least we know that one of us will be right!!

Hello to everyone else!! I hope that 2009 has started positively for everyone.

I can't remember who suggested it (I think it was Detox), but there is Chinese Gender Predictor website. Well I tried it for a laugh and it did come up with "It's a Boy" when I put in my details, so who knows. I guess it's got a 50% chance of being accurate!!

I've booked my 16 week check with my new MW tomorrow (even though I'm going to be 17w 5d - ), but I just wanted a heartbeat check after the amnio, plus I haven't had my blood pressure checked in over 10 weeks, so I need to have that done really.

I haven't felt any more baby movement since Thursday, but I've been told that it's not unusual at this early stage. I'm sure in the next week or so, I'll start to feel the little monkey move a bit more...

Anyway, time to get back to work!!

xxxx

Dawni · 05/01/2009 15:52

Hi everyone, spent my day off cleaning and rearanging the livingroom !!!

Got a -OPK today, thankgod we sent the troops in lastnight, ov has only lasted 3 days, with two feint lines then yesterdays bright one....I hate the waiting part now, AF due 16th ! Didnt realise the line would just not be there, thought it would be feint again ?? Ive never tested everyday, usually once i get a positive i dont test again and just go for it !!

Hope your feeling better BS was thinking of you XX

purplecrazyhorse sounding good to me !!!

Hi WM nice to have you back, happy new year xx

HC hope things are going well for you, it'll be good to get the kids back to school, i only hope mine can get his backside outta bed in time to get the bus !!!

Love to all

D xx

DawnAS · 05/01/2009 16:00

Hi Dawni,

Fingers crossed for you this month then hun! The month that I fell PG, I'd had a faint line on OPK and then a bright one and only BDd three times, so we were really lucky!!

Good luck getting the Xmas tree in the loft - I can never even get it in the box!!

xxx

Dawni · 05/01/2009 18:24

Thanks DawnAS Im not sure if we should BD tonight just incase ??? Im not good at the waiting part i just hope we've put enough effort in...time will time, im just gonna be fidgety now. Managed to get the tree back in its box in a fashion and up in the loft, good god it was cold up there !!

Hope your feeling good and things are going well

ChocolateEclair · 05/01/2009 18:28

OOO so much to read!

PCH - erm as far as I am aware, a line is a line! It's not possible to have any line unless you have HCG, which you can only get from a pregnancy! So, CONGRATULATUIONS!!!! . 2009 is looking good for us all!!!

Oh and I found it quite hard telling my parents also, as DP and I have only been together 18 months and they had no idea we were ttc so it was surprise to them. I was embarrassed about my Dad knowing his little girl has sex! It was fine though, not as bad as I thought!

Detox - good idea about the early scan, not a luxury at all, it will really help you relax. Not too long to wait either!

Dawni - hope you caught the egg! Sounds like you put plenty of effortg in! (but about the viagra!!!)

HC - So you are trying the MJIMeveryotherdayapproach??? LOL! Hope THIS is your month, I really do. Hope you see a nice strong +opk as I never used to get one!

Dawn - I wouldn't fret about not feeling baby for a few days, I didn't feel anything at all until almost 20 weeks, which is very normal. And if you have your scan a week late, you will def be feeling something by then so won't be nervous about it!

WIllmouse/BB - welcome back to you both. Nice to have you both back on the ttc bandwagon! Good Luck!

HM2J/MJIM/Juanitad/majormoo - hope the babies are well! They sound so lovely - any chance of some more piccies???

Mandy - great to hear you are well! How is your bump doing?

BSL - sorry you have been felling down - it is really horrible when people announce their own good news isn't it? Because you really are happy for them, but sad for your self at the same time. I always used to try to think about it like if I was to fall pg this month, ooo I would already be say 2 weeks pg etc etc. Try to remember to do things not related to ttc to take your mind off it - stuff as a couple you know. Big hugs xxxx

All good here, I was back to work today but only for 7 weeks! Wow! It's all starting to seem quite real now! We even bought a pram in the sales. I will put a link so you can tell me what you think! Also, we have now finished the nursery, photo on my profile if anyone is interested!

CE ... 12 weeks and counting! xxx

Can anyone give me any thoughts on this probably daft and hypothetical situation??

I BD'ed on the last day before AF came on 14th Dec (only time that month, he was away). Then, had normal period, 5 days long, all completely standard.

Then went all out for it with the BD-ing over Christmas, think ov day was Xmas day according to my calculations (28 day cycle etc etc) and think I felt some OV pains that day and evening.
Anyway, AF now due on Sat, but since Friday have felt sick and light headed on and off throughout the day and normal everyday smells (like toast)are making me wanna hurl. Also got weird popping feelings in stomach and v windy (sorry tmi). Can barely fasten trousers and have just had to change into v sad baggy tracksuit bottoms straight after work!

Anyway, my point is...if I was pg (a big 'if'), is there any chance I could be 6 weeks pg rather than 2 weeks IYSWIM?? Or is it v rare to conceive just before AF turns up??
