CE the nursery looks fantastic - I love the wall!

onlyanauntie-would say you would only be 2 weeks as it sounds like you had a proper AF.

Back later as DH wants to borrow my laptop.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 05/01/2009 22:22

Thanks everyone. Confirmed with ClearBlue test and told DH. Keeping it quiet until 12wk scan as very early days. Got until then to decide when to tell parents.

Big shock as very lucky with BD timing.

theboob · 05/01/2009 22:27

congratulations purplecrazyhorse

HumphreysCorner · 05/01/2009 23:02

Morning all, congrats purplehorse

Still have abdo ache, this happened last month, no sooner did i finish ovulating then the pains started abd carried on the whole 2 weeks till af arrived, i cant even dream that things are ok !!!! I dont know why i put myself on this shitty one way rollercoaster

D xx

PurpleCrazyHorse · 06/01/2009 07:21

Thanks everyone. ClearBlue confirmed result last night but we're keeping it underwraps until after first scan. Can't quite believe it. Guessing I give the GP a call to get the ball rolling?

PurpleCrazyHorse · 06/01/2009 07:43

Sorry for the duplicate post, the computer has just gone crazy!

CE the nursery is fantastic, you've done a fabulous job - how very exciting. Is that wallpaper or a mural? Very impressive.

detoxdiva · 06/01/2009 08:28

PCH - Congratulations! I too am giving the docs a ring today just to get in the system. Still have the m/w's phone number from last time so will also ring her to get first appointment made.

CE - great buggy and the nursery looks amazing! Am looking forward to decorating our nursery too, as dd was only a few months away from moving into her 'big girl's bed & room' when we moved here, so never did much with the baby room (i.e. just plonked the cot in there

Dawni - it's so frustrating isn't it? Try not to get too down - easier said I know - sometimes these things happen when you least expect them too.

HC - good luck with the bd'ing. Sounds like dh has been performing well

So...a stats update

DetoxDiva - 4+4 (I think!) EDD 11.9.09 - No.2 DD 3yo

MrsPuddleduck · 06/01/2009 09:30

Morning.

Congratulations Purplecrazyhorse!!! This really is a lucky thread!!!!

Detox - congratulations too! Sorry I missed your bfp - it must have been over Christmas! My first due date was 31/8 so I have come over all nostalgic!

Onlyanauntie - any news?? Are you going to hang around? We need more ttcers around here!

CE - love the pushchair and the nursery! DH says when we conceive I am not allowed anything new that's what he thinks anyway

Busy day today, now I have finally decided to put heart and soul into ttc my childminding business has started to pick up. Have a school teacher coming around this afternoon who wants part time from june and then full time from sept for two children. It would be ideal for me as I would be able to get the school holidays off with my own children but am really stressed about the whole thing now. If I conceive I will have to tell her that I intend to take six months off and will mess her around big style (children are just adopted as well to make things worse) and on the other hand I may never conceive and we need the money. Can everyone put their two penneth in please????

Must dash and make the house look tidy.......

HumphreysCorner · 06/01/2009 10:07

Morning ladeez

ChocEclair-loving the nursery as I have a major slight obsession with giraffes at the moment, hence DD2's baby jungle theme nursery with extra giraffes. Had an elephant obsession when DD1 was born so Humphreys Corner it is in her room. Like the pram too. Saw my school mum friend's new baby boy (born Boxing Day) and she rushed out to ToysRUs and bought a system suspiciously like yours.

Dawni-try (know it's difficult) to relax in the 2WW. The aches don't always mean AF is on the way.

Willmouse-TBH, TTC is the only thing on my mind which takes priority but as it is taking so long I would take on any mindees you are able to manage at the mo then deal with telling the mums later on when you get a BFP. Also, the mum may change her plans at anytime without worrying about putting you out. Nothing is set in stone. I would like a new pram too, wanted one when DD2 was born but as I don't use them for long (go into a buggy ASAP for transport convenience) but wasn't allowed. DH also thinks out M&P was too big so could try and work on him if the need arises.

DetoxDiva - 5+4 (I think!) EDD 5.9.09 - No.2 DD 3yo

Have phoned m/w and need to get my forms back to her this afternoon and she'll try and get me a booking appointment in 2 weeks. Trying not to get excited...but it's soooo difficult

PurpleCrazyHorse · 06/01/2009 10:16

OMG DetoxDiva we're exactly the same (at least on my rudimentary calculations!). 4+4 and EDD 11 Sept. Need to be on time or quite late as wedding anniversary is 15th!

Willmouse that's tricky. I honestly don't know which way to go. Although we planned TTC, I intend telling work it was a happy unplanned (will have been in post for a year in April). Feel a bit bad but trying to think that these things happen and work should be prepared!

HumphreysCorner · 06/01/2009 10:30

Have probably said before that both times I took a job at a Branch of the Bank I ended up PG less than a month later. The 1st time we had been TTC a year so decided to take the job as it could have been another year of TTCing but luckily I fell that month. The 2nd time I was actually 4w 3days PG the day I started but having MC a few months before I still started and the Manager was fine about it. Said it wasn't that good timing but never mind.

detoxdiva · 06/01/2009 10:31

PCH - I think I'll be unsure of my edd until the dating scan as although my lmp was 28.11.08, I don't think I ov'd until around cd 22, so I think I need to add a week on to any due date . Still, it's exciting to have someone else going through the same thing

MrsPuddleduck · 06/01/2009 11:50

My house (well downstairs anyway) is now officially as clean and tidy as it was on Christmas Eve.

Still have excess rubbish though

onlyanauntie · 06/01/2009 12:07

Still symptom spotting like crazy...felt sick again all last night, couldn't eat me lasagne , and could feel belly gurgling abd popping when I was in bed - is this a sign??? Or am I clearly mental?

MrsPuddleduck · 06/01/2009 12:30

Onlyanauntie - you are not mental, just trying to conceive. If you hang around long enough you will see that we are all mental. I am terrible for symptom spotting.

Is it your first month ttc? and is it your first?

I never really get morning sickness until about 7/8 weeks in but for some it can start really early.

Only 3/4 days until you know.......

onlyanauntie · 06/01/2009 12:44

Yep, ttc my first... broddiness kicked in about a year ago after years off 'me, kids? No way...'

Had v early mc last January, ttc til summer then put it off for a bit, now back on the ttc wagon again...

detoxdiva · 06/01/2009 12:49

Welcome onlyanauntie No, not mental...but symptom spotting will send you that way . Try and hold off the tests until Sat as that's another sure fire way to madness. Good luck ttc - hope it's a lucky month for you.

MrsPuddleduck · 06/01/2009 13:06

I am back ttc after a bit of a break as well, as is Majormoo - so we are in the same boat so to speak.

Lets start the stats off again, I know Detox did it earlier:-

Sorry, not Majormoo - Belgianbun

Majormoo has had her baby - sorry for cofusion

HumphreysCorner · 06/01/2009 13:30

onlyanauntie-sorry to here you had a MC but so pleased you are back on the train with us. All aboard ! Nearly every one of my 10 cycles has provided symptoms to convince me I was PG. On Fertility Friend last month I got 76 points which is a guide to how likely you are to be PG. When I removed the tick in the alcohol consumed box it gave me 88 points. On another TTC thread a girl got 88 points and a BFP so next time I shall not obsesss ignore the points system.
