Great news Dawn!!

Morning all.

Welcome babck Belgian - wishing you lots of luck ttc in 2009, fingers crossed it all happens naturally for you.

HC - hope you're feeling better this morning!

Dawni - good luck with the b'ding - the ewcm is a good sign to just crack on

Had out New Year party yesterday and don't think anyone noticed I managed to make 1 small glass of wine last all day . Am officially 5 weeks today, but am counting it as 4 as I don't think I ov'd until cd 21 or 22. Would rather be 1 week behind - and dd was born a week late so I think my cycles are just traditionally quite long.

DawnAS · 02/01/2009 12:18

Hello all,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Frosty, I hope that you're feeling better now!! Did you manage to soak all that alcohol up? Good luck for this month and well done with the BDing while comatosed!!

DD, I am so thrilled for you still. What a lovely New Year pressie for you and your DH!! I think your prediction may be right, hopefully we'll find out in about 8 days from now!! Going off to Adams tomorrow since all the news about them possibly going under, hoping to catch some bargains!!

BSL, how are you hun? Thanks for your good wishes and I'm hoping for a really good 2009 for you and your DH.

Dawni, all sounding good hun!! Good luck this month.

Belgian, welcome back!! Keeping everything crossed for you!!

MJIM, I did originally put in an order for a girl with the man up there, but I think after the recent problems, I am going to be ecstatic whatever this little monkey turns out to be. I'm convinced it's a boy to be honest - but would love a little girl. Will find out soon!!

CE, hi Hun, thanks for your good wishes. Now we've got the all clear, I am going to start putting some pics of my bump online, but I want to wait until I pick up all my NEXT purchases from my sister's place tomorrow, because at the moment I look like a refugee in all DH's clothes. Going out is a nightmare as I only have one pair of non-maternity jeans and one pair of non-maternity combats, just in larger sizes. What a state!! But I've ordered some lovely stuff from Next.

For all those TTC - I predict a lot more babies in 2009!! Good luck ladies!!

So, I think I might have felt our little jellybean move for the first time yesterday. I'm 17w 2ds so I'm not sure if it's too early, but it just felt like a bubble bursting in my tummy, to one side of my belly button. It happened while I was peeling vegetables for tea last night and I felt it twice in about 10 seconds and then didn't feel it again. I've never felt anything like it before, but I guess I won't know until I start feeling it more frequently...

Hope everyone is having a lovely start to 2009 - although it is freezing!! My Mum is currently upstairs putting wallpaper up in our main bedroom, just on one wall. She finds wall-papering therapeutic and since I have to work, she offered to do it - how lovely of her!!

Catch up later guys!!

xxx

detoxdiva · 02/01/2009 12:41

Oh Dawn - that def sounds like the first feelings of baby moving - I remember that with dd. You're not sure at first, but a bubble is the best way that I could describe it too.

Talking of predicting the sex, has anyone seen the Chinese gender predictor? If you google it it brings up a table where you look up the mothers age at conception and the month of conception, and it tells you if you're having a boy or girl. Sounds wierd, but it has been right with my dd, all 3 of my friends children and my mate at work who looked at it before her sexing scan...and it was right!!! Obv I am trying not to get too excited yet about this pg, but I have looked and it is predicting a boy which would be fab!!!

I'm normally a complete sceptic about things like this, but it really seems to work - God knows how

Dawni · 02/01/2009 16:21

Hi ladies, seems to be a happy start to 2009 and a hopefull one too...

Got a faint +OPK today and my saliva test shows ferning, so lots of BDing the next few days I will also read my fertility spell for 3 nights and then live in hope !!!

frosty Hope your back to 'normal' now after the new years festivities

detox I think i would be the same and trying the chart also, i love stuff like that, hence the fertility spell

dawn things are sounding fab now, how very exciting

Hope everyone is fine

Love to all

Oh, have caved in and had some wine. Had my friend and her 2 DC round and they were quite wild and messy so feel I deserve it. My friend is due No 3 in 9 days so we talked babies a lot. Was OK as am on the active TTC train. The only time I can't cope is when my temp drops and then AF arrives. My friend told me she was temp taking without her DH knowing so asked how the beep of the thermometer never woke him and she told me she took her temp before bed. I said it only works after 3 hours continuous sleep but she said she did notice a pattern and she did get PG straight away once her DH gave in. So, are we wasting our time with all this temp lark?

Wonder how long the festive smileys will last.

Dawni-go girl with your slight +ive OPK. Always a good sign to me. Am starting testing tonight on CD 6.

detox-those Chinese gender things never worked for me. I am still a firm (ish) believer in the string test despite 2 failures. Am about to see if my girl prediction comes true for my friend.

Right ho, better get on with the macaroni cheese.

Laters!

Hey, girls. Sorry to disappear after my post the other day. I came down with nasty bug/food poisoning (not sure which), threw up 4 times in 3 hours and couldn't eat till the next day. (which will hopefully have helped erase the extra padding on my hips that I've acquired over the past few weeks!).

Anyway, all OK, except that I started spotting again, and Lewisham hospital are quite keen that you go in if you bleed or spot at all, so was in there being poked and prodded this morning (although I suppose it is reassuring that they keep such a close watch). I'm not worried though - Bo is a little tyke and already not giving me a moment's peace, so I know he/she is OK .

Dawn, so so happy your results are OK, and you've got all your lovely new maternity clothes to look forward to. The feelings you have are definitely baby (unless you have really bad wind). So exciting!

Welcome purplecrazyhorse and welcome back belgian.

Hoping for a fab year full of babydust for all, and looking forward to our 2009 BFPs and babies.

Oh, and CE - you are SO far from being a pudding. I have just had to make DH take another pic and save it to the laptop so I can post it to prove you are tiny. We're due practically the same day, and I'm twice your size - take a look! . As I've said many a time, I blame my short waist - nowhere to go but out.

Happy New Year.

Evening ladies

MJIM sorry you are having a tough time atm - remember most things are just a phase and I am sure that Naomi will settle down - but lack of sleep is just the pits isn't it? Was the HV who weighed her concerned about her weight?? I am sure it is just that she is a really petite little girl and there is absolutely nothing wrong.

CE lol at your photo - there is barely a bump there!! By that stage, I looked like I had swallowed a (very large) beach ball

Daisy now that is a bump lol! Hope you are fully better now!

Dawn great news about the results and that you can feel your baby - there is really no nicer feeling

BlueStar2009 · 02/01/2009 22:33

Evening guys,

Dawn - not doing so good. Found out another friend is expecting...it just feels like it's never going to happen for us. Very low, but trying to look at the new year as positively as possible. Truth is I'm struggling. I have a weblog that's been going a few years...I can't muster the optimism to write more than Happy New Year at the moment.

Daisy - sorry you're having spotting! Good to hear you're being looked after and little Bo is doing good!

Ceebee - poor little Josh! we had fireworks on New Years day evening. My little niece was so funny...she doesn't like the fireworks when they are going off (and says NO NO NO), but afterwards, she takes everyone, one-by-one back into the conservatory to show them where the fireworks were! So funny bearing in mind she's only 1.3 and has to point at 'dat dere'!

Myjob - my sis went through the same as you with her DD. Worryingly low weight gain etc. she saw lactation specialists and paeds. Bells is just a little girl...my sis is small too, so maybe Naomi is just going to be petite. My siis is still worrying even now, but Bells looks happy and healthy, she's just not got a massive appetite.

Frosty - good to hear you got back in the saddle!! Was the hangover very bad??? I have never really suffered bad hangovers, except once and I vowed never again! Thank goodness, because it was painful and hurt like hell!

BB - good to have you joining us TTCers again.

Dawni - I watched a bit of Jonathon Creek, but I think I liked the older ones best. My DH can't stand them, so i usually have to sky plus and watch when he's not around!

Welcome PurpleCrazyHorse! It's nice that you want to come and join us over here too!

DD - well done on the wine! It must be tricky at this time of year!

Anyhow, off to bed.

Oh forgot to say...Dawn - how lovely for you to be feeling the baby! Will mail soon!

Morning ladeez!

DawnAS-that first feeling is fab isn't it. I was naughty with DD1 and used to prod her that hard just to get her to go 'get orf me' and kick me back.

Bluestar-I really do feel for you and have nothing I can really say to help the pain you are feeling right now. I liken it to some kind of bereavement. Stay with us won't you?

MJIM-DD2 was BF and was always off the scale with her weight gain and still is really but she is fine and the HV wasn't worried. She is 2 1/2 and this Christmas wore clothes aged 6-9 months and 12-18 months (which buried her). Looking back she only weighed just over 10 lb at approx the age Naomi is now. (Can't remember how many weeks she is).

daisyj-how are you today? Hope all is OK now.

Ceebee-yes, Sam will smile any day now. Bet you can't wait.

Dawni-still sending the troups in? My poor DH-honestly, we are never 'up for it' at the same time. He is stressed with work and I'm trying to tell him it is good stress relief.

PurpleCrazyHorse-any news, did you test?

theboob-how are you. Don't be a stranger will you?

Big wave to everyone else, am about to start the mammoth task of taking all the decos down so back much later!

Yes, DD2 had gained 5 lb from birth weight at 16 weeks so Naomi is doing fine methinks.
