Oh, and whilst I'm in the mood for giving TMI, my cervix is bobbing up and down in my fanjo like it's on a bungee, what the hell does that mean?

VerifiedLU4097 · 14/12/2008 15:00

Bratnav- sorry to hear that. Missiemoo- here's hoping! Also TMI. but does your cervix feel really smooth and hard? Mine did and BFP!!

MissieMoosMummy · 14/12/2008 15:56

Difficult to say as the bugger has popped out of reach this morning and not returned yet. I think it was a bit hard, but definitley not squishy, and there was a tiny hard bump on it too, it felt like a grain of sand.

So pleased for you with your BFP - how do you feel now that the news has sunk in? Did you say this was your first?

VerifiedLU4097 · 15/12/2008 09:18

Feeling unreal as only symptoms are sore boobs- my DH is fascinated by them. Doc said- reality check- 1 in 4 pregnancies fail and I should be prepared for this. Fine, except my SIL has lots of miscarriages (no relation to me) so my DH is saying stuff like, 'when you really are pregnant, or if you're pregnant'. I have shown him 2 BFPs and had it confirmed by the doc and I know I might lose it, but it does not mean I'm not pg right now. My DH seems to be bolstering himself up in case of failure (and is hunkering down til 12 weeks) and I find it quite annoying. Also, I never realised that the amount of weeks pg is based on the first day of my last AF (yes it is my first time!!) so I'm 5+3. When I say I'm 5 weeks to DH, he's like, is that 5 weeks from docs calc or 5 weeks from conception, cos you're not really 5 weeks are you? ARGHHHH! He's so clinical about it. Moan moan moan. He's happy really, but pessimistic. Moan over!!!

Morning all,

hope everyone had a good weekend. I've been really lazy although I did manage to get most of my wrapping done and wrote out all my xmas cards (all from a cosy seat on the sofa though).

How does anyone manage this 2ww thing without going completely barmy? This is only our first month of ttc but I am sooooo impatient already . I think it's worse because it is xmas so have been out shopping for godson, nieces and nephew etc so can't help wondering whether we will have our own DC or bean to shop for next year. AF is due on xmas eve so now I really can't wait for xmas!

smallone · 15/12/2008 09:54

I'm lurking at the mo, just left the august board but not going to put myself on this one officially till after Christmas!

Congrats verified! Don't worry about your DH, they very rarely get a grasp of it! You could tell him that a GP's date is only an estimate and your scan will prob be different anyway! You've got 35 weeks left to go either way! Good luck.

bratnavipoddslitecuddlytoy · 15/12/2008 10:52

Verified, tis the way men are I'm afraid, (well my ex was), when you start throwing up every morning, he might believe you are 'properly' pg then

missie, I know what you mean, I think I should be ov around now, but keep testing and nothing, maybe I am using the tests wrongly? This bit is almost worse than the 2ww bit, waiting to shag (actually we're not, sorry, TMI) maybe, waiting to shag productively instead of for the loveliness

We did LOADS of shopping and wrapping at the weekend, just DPs last bit and ALL of my presents this weekend. So tired and DD2 is home from school, which means I am home from work, supposedly working from home...

Ruby01 · 17/12/2008 13:56

Verified Huge congratulation and you should be excited fingers crossed it will all go well and your Dh will catch up in no time

I do need some help/advise/some peace of mind!!

I am due AF on xmas day but yesterday evening started to suffer what felt like period pains - I said to Dh that either i was going to get AF early or i was ovulating much later than I thought I was going to (have not done any tests to see what best time conception time is but usually can feel when i am ovulating and as a rough guide i use the time line thing on babyworld)

Anyway have just suffered a very light brown show whilst going to the loo sorry TMI now i am worried, its not my AF. I previously suffrered an eptopic at 7 weeks and this was exact thing that prompted all the hospital examinations- am I far too early on (if i am at all! )to suffer eptopic or have an implantation bleed- i dont think i can even do a test yet as im not due for a week -- has anyone got any advise/explanation - my last AF was on the 27/11

mrsdisorganised · 17/12/2008 14:04

Ruby01 my last af started on 27/11 too and I ovulated yesterday...using OPK sticks for the first time, due next AF on xmas day too...weird!! Maybe you have had an implantation bleed?!, I don't know much about these things but as I share your dates I thought I'd let you know, sorry not much help

Ruby01 · 17/12/2008 14:12

thanks loads for that mrsd so i need to make sure we are back at baby making just in case I am ovulating - wish I could get to the bottom of the show but i guess i have to wait and see

fingers crossed for you though hopefully it will all work out right

mrsdisorganised · 26/12/2008 19:10

Happy Christmas girls!

TrixieVix · 26/12/2008 23:17

Hello ladies....how did the testing go yesterday??

Am in a bit of a quandry - I've been feeling like I've got early pregnancy symptoms for the past few weeks, but did a test a couple of weeks ago and came -ive. I've still had no AF and DH has noticed my boobs have changed and moods have been a bit all over the place. Soooo, I did a cheapo Asda pregnancy test (not digital) and peed on it for the required amount of time and got no line. Went for a shower and when I came back to it a few minutes later, there was a very faint line in the test window. I took it downstairs to show DH who couldn't see the line. Anyhoo, we've since been out to friend's house for dinner, and come back and DH can now def see a line too. So - what does this mean? Should I have disregarded the test after 10 mins? Am I pg or is it just a line that comes up when it's been saturated in urine?!?!!?

I can post a pic of the test up on my profile, but am a bit embarrassed as it is V.V.V. faint and am thinking maybe it's wishful thinking on my part!!!

mrsdisorganised · 27/12/2008 09:44

With my first dc i took a very cheap test whilst out shopping, came up negative, kept it because I was positive in myself that a negative result was wrong.....and when I got home looked at it again only to find a very faint line had appeared too...did another test the next morning still positive....so I think it's possible although you're not supposed to keep them after a certain number of minutes. Good luck Trixie

TrixieVix · 28/12/2008 11:13

Well.....went and bought a Clearblue digital test and did it with the first wee of the day and.......WAIT FOR IT.........'Not Pregnant'.

Bummer - well and truly gutted

Never mind....roll on next month eh?!

mrsdisorganised · 28/12/2008 11:40

Hugs trixie...always next month least you can have a New Years drink (if you drink!) x

christmosschops30 · 29/12/2008 21:25

well this thread has grown since I last saw it had anyone left yet for a pg thread?? Hope everyone is good and had a great xmas (and great ttc)

Me and dh have been trying this month, but have both had flu so not sure if that will have affected our chances, also dont seem to have an EWCM part of my cycle so just been guessing at ovulation.
If it doesnt happen this month will buy a home ovulation kit.

Fingers crossed, I can start testing about the 8th Jan if AF hasnt arrived by then

bratnavipoddslitecuddlytoy · 30/12/2008 10:06

Hi ladies, well a busy Christmas, DP taken into hospital with suspected appendicitis on 21st, finally let out at 10pm on Christmas Eve, and he asked me to marry him on Christmas morning, over the moon (also because it's the most PERFECT ring ever).

I had a tummy bug and didn't eat or drink much over Christmas at all, but it seems it wasn't a tummy bug at all. I tested yesterday morning and got a BFP

mrsdisorganised · 30/12/2008 10:13

Bratnav wow!!!!! Huge congratulations.. Well done x

TrixieVix · 30/12/2008 11:41

AWESOME news Bratnav - what a wonderful double-whammy!!

So pleased for you - fingers crossed for everyone else too xx

mosschops30 · 30/12/2008 13:57

Oh bratnav congrats so pleased for you in every way
You have to keep your fingers crossed for the rest of us now

pinkie08 · 31/12/2008 11:45

Hi all, COngrats bratnav

Not sure what happening with me but guess i am out as had some spotting yesterday which is a sure sign af is on its way.

Bit disappointed as body tricked me all the way o cd27, usually happens on cd25 but hey ho guess its not to be this time.

Am having one more month of clomid and then fertility specialist app came through for the 12Jan so thats bucked me up a bit.

Happy new year to all and i hope that we all get our BFPs soon

bratnavipoddslitecuddlytoy · 31/12/2008 13:13

I will definitely have my fingers crossed for you all

I am off to he docs on Friday as I will need to have a dating scan, I am still not convinced that the tiny bleed I had at the start of December was AF, so could be anywhere between 4 and 10 weeks I think.

mosschops30 · 31/12/2008 22:11

Bratnav I need you to hang on in here until I get my BFP so pleased for you though thats wonderful.

Whats all the cd stuff?? Its on all the ttc threads but I dont know what it stands for

I gave dh a shopping list tonight with a first response preg test on it but he came back without one saying 'if you wanna spend £15 to test 6 days early then you go up the shop and buy it cos I'll wait' arse so I dont know, AF is due on Monday I think. I have period like pains though so could this be anything else or is AF deffo on its way?

OP posts:
pinkie08 · 02/01/2009 21:01

Im out for the september baby, gutted really thought we cracked it this month as got all the way to cd27 with no spotting and we covered all crucial days before and after ov.

Specialist appointment in 10 days so at least they start some proper tests.

Mosschops30 Cd means cycle day, so first day af is cd1 then DPO is days past ovulation.

Hope you get your bfp

mosschops30 · 02/01/2009 22:59

so sorry pinkie will keep everything crossed for you for next month, you'll get there, we both will

I did one of those First Response tests today (6 days early) and it was BFN am consoling myself with the fact that in trials it only identified pregnancy at 6 days early in 62% of women, am hoping to be one of the 38% it hasnt detected.

Keeping everything crossed for all of us TTC
