Hi everyone

Well i'm now onto cycle 13 AF arrived yesterday, onwards and upwards....

How is everyone else?

VivClicquot · 26/05/2009 09:33

Morning ladies

Can I join this thread please? Am 31, and came off the pill at the start of April, with the intention of properly trying to conceive baby #1 in November, after our wedding.

So, 43 days in, I still haven't had AF and my boobs are absolutely killing me - I keep telling myself this is very very normal and that my body is just readjusting after 11 years on the pill. However, when I've had breaks off the pill previously, I've settled back into a regular 30 day cycle right away.

So, do I test or not? Am completely new to all this so am not sure if I'm being mental already!

tostaky · 26/05/2009 10:39

test!! test!! test!!

Im joining the thread as well a i have just stopped the pill three days ago and waiting for AF before TTC-ing for DC2...

Cant wait, cant wait!!!

kittycatcat · 26/05/2009 11:11

Welcome to vivclicquot and tostaky

Um viv i THINK that is normal but i would poss do a test so you know for sure. Your bod can take time to adjust.

Good luck ladies )

No news here. Still waiting for AF which i keep thinking has arriveds but hasnt. I know it's on its way. Grrr. TTC not going great Dalrymps tut. How are you? x

PolkaDotRachel · 26/05/2009 20:00

Welcome vivclicquot

Hello everyone! I am still waiting for AF - surely this can't be normal?! First day of last period was latest 17th April !!!

This is nothing to do with TTC but...

Having a hectic week as LO has "slapped cheek" although more like "slapped face, arms and legs" lol! Poor little thing has scratched one eye and one ear raw Took him to see nurse this morning as thought it might be something more serious but it's not.

Got cleaning company coming to blitz the house tomorrow and thank god my Mum has agreed to look after DS while I go to meeting in the morning - nursery said he could go in but he looks so poorly and just wants to sleep I couldn't send him.

Hope he's ok for 1st birthday bash on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone TTC tonight ;)

Biccy · 26/05/2009 21:38

Hello everyone! Had a lovely holiday thank you. Did get back on Saturday, but been having computer problems, and also arrived back to discover a large black dog had arrived in our house for a week. (He's absolutely lovely, just one more thing to fit into the routine!).

I'm doing ok. 5 weeks today and doing pretty well at not thinking about it all the time. Still really trying not to think of it as real yet. I know I posted what the due date would be back on CD8... but I can't remember and have decided not to work it out again so I don't get a date fixed in my head yet. Feeling fine (other than my balance is off tonight, so I'm sitting on a level chair on a level floor, but I feel like I'm tilted!).

Dalry, I don't know whether you really had to 'stop', and couldn't find an answer... though I have to admit that I held DP off as I was feeling really paranoid that any bumping might upset my cervix! CD25 now? Ooh, I really hope it's this month.

Welcome viv, I agree with the others, I think it could just be a settling down after pill thing, but like you I always settled straight back into regular pattern after coming off, and the only time my boobs ahve ever been painful was when I was first pg with #1, so I'd do a test to set your mind at rest... if you are pg you may need to think about your wedding dress!! (But then, I am a serial ridiculously early and often tester, so maybe you shouldn't listen to me).

And hello tostaky, good luck with it all!

Kittycatcat, have you tested yet? How late are you? I always feel like AF is arriving when I'm actually pg (feels like it's coming, actually feels like it's arrived, hasn't, all this goes a way fora cuple of days, then starts again). I felt very pre-AF for a couple of days while I was away (did my head in!). Similarly PDR, what is going on?!

Thought I'd just mention also that I think those cheap tests you can get on the internet are not very good - they do show up a positive, but when I had a clear one on a boots test for the day of your period, a cheap internet 'early' (though not 'ultra' early) was so faint only a hardened tester such as myself would have spotted the line!

Bringonthetrumpets, hope you're enjoying your last night with DP for a while. Look forward to hearing about your trip.

Right, better go and check on the dog!

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 08:52

Hi Biccy
According to FF AF was due 24th.Did a test Tuesday which was negative. Was an internet one. The ones they say the NHS use - not bought on ebay if that makes ANY difference. I am checking constantly. What's going on? OUr bodys are cruel. I just know its going to turn up
And dog??? haha x

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 08:54

PS i have my pelvic ultrasound today.

VivClicquot · 27/05/2009 09:32

Morning ladies,

Well this could quite possibly be the most embarrassing entrance onto Mumsnet ever. Took a test two hours ago and it was a very very big fat positive.

Am in a total daze. Am over the moon but have a million questions running through my brain - not least what the hell am I going to do with my beautiful wedding dress. Or the three week honeymoon round Thailand for that matter.

So where the bloody hell do I go from here?!

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 10:12

OMG Vivcliquot that is amazing. HUGE congratulations )))))
Right, calming self down. Eek. When do you get married? Crumbs.

VivClicquot · 27/05/2009 10:30

Wedding date is 14th November - so rough counting on the fingers says I'll be 30 weeks by then. Oh my god. Oh my god.

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 10:36

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee i dont know what to say. Can you postpone? Have you holiday insurance so you can postpone that too? Crumbs. x

VivClicquot · 27/05/2009 10:59

Hahaha since we got engaged, I have given my fiancé one job to do - sort out the wedding insurance. Six and a half months on and I'm still waiting for him to do it... (which also explains why he's only been given the one wedding job so far!)

We might be able to postpone, but I'm not sure at this stage that I'd want to? Guess it's something for us to talk about over the next couple of weeks.

A dress is just a dress, right?

sobs at thought of the lost Ian Stuart gown

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 11:01

still very excited for you x

Dalrymps · 27/05/2009 13:46

WOwEE!!! Huge congratulations VivCliquot! So excited for you, what did your dp say???

If it were me i'd get a lovely preggers wedding dress and go ahead, it'll take twice as long to arrange once the baby is here! Not sure what you'd to about the honeymoon though?!

VivClicquot · 27/05/2009 14:22

DP was happy and excited and got a bit teary and just kept repeating, "But you told me it would take AGES for your ovaries to wake up after coming off the pill!"

I've just met him for lunch and we kept nervously giggling lots - but we decided we definitely want to go ahead with the wedding. Getting a new dress should be fine, right? And as for Thailand, who knows...! Lots to think about I guess!

bringonthetrumpets · 27/05/2009 14:28

Greetings from Minnesota! Feels so strange to be back here, you have no idea. I feel like I'm going through a culture shock and this is where I grew up.... very strange experience to say the least. Ds is 8 months and he did brilliantly on the plane. 8 1/2 hours and he didn't really cry-a little fussing but that was about it. The lady I was sitting next to is expecting a granddaughter in August so she was very happy to have some practice, she was such a godsent! My mum has gone Nan-overboard and my son is completely set up with anything could ever need. I think she's got enough nappies for him to last for at least a good 3 months. Lol, bless her, she's so happy we're here.

Dh and I had a fabulous last few days together....b/c I was finally ovulating! Yaaaaay! There was no mistaking that one. Twinge on the right side and plenty of ewcm (sorry, tmi but I'm very excited to be working properly again after finishing bf'ing!) So now we're in the 2 week wait. I know these two weeks are going to fly by but I'm already like....eeeeek I can't wait to test!

Anyways, that's me all caught up at the moment! So glad to be home to be honest!

Wow vivcliquot ! how exciting! That's awesome that you've just joined and already have a BFP! Really hoping it's the good luck charm for the rest of us. Maybe you and your dp could have a small wedding and then have a big reception once the baby is born so you could wear your amazing dress?

Hope the pelvic scan goes well for you Kitty!

Getting close Dairymps gosh, fingers crossed for you that this is the month!

Glad to hear you've had a nice holiday, complete with a new family member Biccy. Do you have any symptoms yet? 5 weeks is still 5 weeks, and that's still very exciting. I know this will all go perfectly for you and I'm just really happy for you and your dh!

PolkaDotRachel · 27/05/2009 14:30

VivClicquot - major congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking about your wedding dress.... if you do decide to go ahead... I'm sure you could get it altered and let out at the back, no? Shame to buy a whole new dress? I managed to cram myself back into mine for "blessing ceremony" when about 5 months gone without any alterations but it had a lace up back which was helpful!

If not I bet there are loads of gorgeous maternity dresses - I'm thinking greek godess stylee ;)

As for honeymoon....hmmm maybe Thailand at 30+ weeks would be a bit of a mission if only because of the heat! I think technically they would let you fly but why not postpone for a year and go as a family when the baby is 1?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps. STILL no AF here. Am going to do another test. Back later for results! X

bringonthetrumpets · 27/05/2009 15:16

ooh goodluck polkadot!

kittycatcat · 27/05/2009 17:11

Hi all

Scan was fun. Thought i was going to wet myself. poss tmi! lol. The nurse said she couldnt see anything glaring at her and that my ovaries appear to be working fine. Hurrah.

Hey bringonthetrumpets great to hear from you. Must be strange eh.Fingers crossed for 2ww!

x

PolkaDotRachel · 27/05/2009 19:57

BFN... again....

Surely my cycle can't be 41 days long??!

Does anyone else have a really long cycle?
