Hi everyone, just checking in.
Dalrymps, did DH know BD was 'scheduled'... or was it your secret?

I'm starting to think these chaps who don't want to know all the details are being a mite selfish (my dp being one of them, not necessarily yours of course!). I'm sure it's a bit different for them, as they may feel too much pressure to perform, which may result in no performance, but, you know, I was thinking about all the ladies on this thread and other similar ones on here, and on other forums as well, who are all consumed by this lark - counting days, trying to engineer sex at the right time, trying not to test etc etc... and I thought, why the hell should he not know, seeing as how he is as keen as I am for us to be adding to the family! So Wednesday's try was done in full joint knowledge that that was probably my last fertile day of the month. Anyway, just a little rant...

PDR... are you still feeling sick? How's those ears?

bringonthetrumpets, thank you for your support of my early testing justification theory! I am really trying not to sympton spot, and honestly I don't think I really have any symptons. Thing is I've conceived 3 out of the last 7 calendar months (not including this month), and I think that means 5 or 6 AFs (as Chemical Ps and MC reduced the number), so I think I'm starting to lose my ability to spot any difference between normal and pregnant - as being in the very early stages of pregnant has been becoming 'normal'. IYSWIM! Anyhow, am only CD19 - but I know I will not get beyond Saturday in terms of waiting to test (holiday or no holiday!).... am already desperate! If I succumb to any ridiculously early testing I will ofcourse update you on any 'I can see a line if I hold it up to the light and squint and bend the stick a bit' type stuff!

But surely you have started your double-buggy research by now...

Biccy · 09/05/2009 23:43

Oh before I go... here's my latest technique for getting pregnant... I've spent the money I was saving for maternity clothes (on non maternity clothes). Surely that's gotta do it!

Dalrymps · 10/05/2009 12:37

Biccy - It was scheduled with his full knowledge and consent . I told him we are doing the deanna plan this month and showed him the opk so he has been briefed. He was a bit on and off in the early days with the 'don't tell me cause it ruins the spontinaety' etc etc but now he's fully 'on board'

Good luck with the early testing . I'm sure the fact you have spent your maternity budget on non maternity clothes must mean you'll get pregger this month

PolkaDotRachel · 10/05/2009 13:05

Hi everyone!

I am an administrator in a hotel but since coming back after mat. leave I have also taken on the events (weddings, private punctions, the odd conference) side of things... It's great when you get a nice couple but there are some who want champagne for the price of OJ if you know what I mean!

Would much rather be a photographer though!

No more symptoms I'm afriad but no AF either and the way my cycles have been, she could appear at any time lol!

Ears are feeling better but still can't hear 100% (beginning to forget what that felt like to be honest!) but will finish the course of antibiotics...

Am just having a bite to eat (rather eat here than at home!) then off to the madhouse! My mum has been looking after LO this morning so hopefully my DH will have done some washing up etc

Dalrymps · 10/05/2009 14:33

Ah, that sounds like a very interesting job too .

Hope your ears get back to 100% soon...

Hoping your dh has done the washing up!

Dalrymps · 11/05/2009 10:29

Ooh, it's my first day of opk testing today, quite excited

Rtuff · 11/05/2009 10:53

Bringon That sounds very eciting where in the states are you heading to? DH and I have been having the "lets move to the states" converstaion for the past year now, and a job position has just come up in New York so some serious thoughts going on about it now...

Well i am officially on the 2ww now had my smiley face day on Saturday, so twiddling my thumbs now, BTW I'm already symptom spotting!! Far to early i know!!

How is everyone today? I'm in a positive mood today, but give me 10 days and you'll all have to hold me back from POAS!!

Dalrymps · 11/05/2009 11:01

I'm feeling positive too rtuff

Although I seem to have got in to the 'zone' where I'm not really expecting it to happen this month iyswim cause i've thought it would previous months and then been dissapointed.

Now i'm just kind of regsigned to keep trying month after month till it finally happens but am quietly confident it will happen at the same time iyswim.

Sorry i'll stop babbling now!

PolkaDotRachel · 11/05/2009 12:23

Hello everyone - Rtuff and Dalry I'm feeling very positive today as well!

Not only did we win the (charity) lottery jackpot on Saturday, I just picked up "special delivery" letter from the Post Office and low and behold, LO has won 1st prize in the photo picture wall competition on the Children's Mutual website! If anyone else has their CTFs with them - give it a go - £100 vouchers!

If things happen in 3s what more is to come?????? A new baby ???

Think I will get him a slide for the garden

Dalrymps - the minute you stop thinking about TTC it will happen - as if by magic - this happened to two of my friends.

Rtuff - possible move to NY sounds very exciting! V !!!!

bringonthetrumpets · 11/05/2009 12:43

yay for opk testing dairymps !! hopefully that smiley face/second strong line will come up for you quickly ! i've been interested in these, so you'll have to keep us updated on what you think.

rtuff we are moving to minnesota. it's where i grew up and where my family still is.... so i'm so positively excited to go back home!!!!! i miss them all so much and i'm so looking forward to the nice warm summer they have going on there!! ahhhh, 2 more weeks.... i really hope this is your big month too! i'm getting just as excited for everyone on this thread as i am for myself. with anyone else i think i'd be really jealous of a bfp-but with you guys i'm cheering you all on!

polkadotrachel congrats on the big wins!! a new slide sounds lovely. perfect for the nice weather we've all be having lately. one more big thing waiting to happen for you, hope your bfp is it!

bringonthetrumpets · 11/05/2009 12:45

sorry rtuff totally forgot to mention, that's awesome that you've got such a great opportunity! NY is so beautiful!

Biccy · 12/05/2009 07:42

Hi all.

Is it an OPK day today Dallrymps?

Glad everyone is feeling positive. I don't know if I'm feeling positive, just really really hoping this is the month.

PDR have you managed to stay away from the tests so far? Must be CD27 for you? Am getting all jittery for you!

Symptons: mild cramping yesterday and today (today is CD22) and really irritable.... but

skin is dreadful, which I take as a pre-AF thing, and so could the grumpiness be...

so, positive symptons neutralised by negative ones.... still no intuition either way.

Ordered my First Responses this morning

Biccy · 12/05/2009 10:07

Oh, and I'm really aware of my boobs today... but again, that could just be pre AF stuff. I really hate the way so many early preg symptons are really just the same as pre-menstrual symptons.

Dalrymps · 12/05/2009 11:50

Yeah an POK day

Yeasterday's pok was a faint 2nd line which is classed as negative according to the instructions. Was only CD10 though..

I hate the way pmt is the same as preg symptoms too, how are we supposed to know?!

PolkaDotRachel · 12/05/2009 12:25

Biccy according to FertiliyFriend I am CD26 today - no sign of AF but have not been v regular so she cannot be trusted ti turn up on time lol!

I think if still nothing on Friday I will do a test - have LO's swimming lessons on Fridays so AF is bound to turn up just to make things more complicated!!!!!!!!

Good luck has ended.

Just got email saying all Heathrow Airport Parking is now 20% off. Booked 10 days parking yesterday so am now £20 out of pocket. Pretty sure I said "no marketing emails" as well so I should never have found out! How annoying! On the other hand, if anyone needs airport parking - book now!

Biccy · 12/05/2009 14:37

PDR, don't see it like that - had you benefited from that you'd have had your 3 bits of good luck... this way, you've got one to go!

Faint line is good Dalrymps I'm sure, shows something's going on, even if you haven't peaked yet... bet tomorrow's is a bit darker.

I am feeling very proud of myself. Having ordered 2 First Responses this morning, I found myself in Boots today handling a pack... and managed to put them back and walk away ! Hurrah! Is obviously still too early to test, even with one of those, but was soooo tempted. Silly I know, but I'm really pleased with myself for resisting.

bringonthetrumpets · 12/05/2009 15:43

yay well done biccy! trust me, i've done it faaaaar too many times.

wooo hooo! girls aloud concert tonight! loads of drinks with the gals and then lots of lovely drunken bd'ing with dh when i get home. should be a fun night he won't know what hit him.

Biccy · 12/05/2009 21:18

Hello... anyone there tonight?

Dalrymps · 12/05/2009 22:00

Me me, I'm here!

Did my 2nd opk today, still just a faint 2nd line, will keep going.

How are you?

Biccy · 12/05/2009 22:11

Hi Dalrymps - glad there's another faint line.. I found it really weird, I have to say.

but.. I have been a naughty girl... CD22...

had some cheap internet tests in my drawer and just couldn't resist tonight and what do you know? A very faint BFP. Really faint, but undeniable when you're as experienced as me in these things!

Decided it was daft, must be seeing things, got out a Boots one I had that you're not supposed to use until AF is due... and, erm, BFP on that one too. again, faint, but undeniable.

There's going to be no holding me back from those First Responses when they arrive.

I am incorrigible. Really not a good role model! There's such a high chance it won't go very far .... I just have this huge desire to know. So, I'm just hoping that these test showing up BFPs so early is a positive sign that I've got lots of lovely HPT and maybe it's going to really happen this time.

Cheers to Deanna, whoever you are!

Dalrymps · 12/05/2009 22:28

Wow Biccy, thats VERY exciting!!! I have all my fingers and toes crossed that this one will go all the way for you .

Have you told your dp?

This gives me hope that Deanna might work... I have to say I find the ov testing a bit weird, I kind of don't believe i'll get a positive result on one. Feels like i'm testing for something that might or might not be there iyswim. If I do get a positive opk it'll be weird to actually know i'm about to ovulate! Did your opk's get increasingly darker over the days or just dark one day?

Eek, I can't believe you got several BFP's!!!!! SO so pleased for you!

PolkaDotRachel · 12/05/2009 22:33

Biccy

SO pleased for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very exciting! Fingers crossed for you!

Nothing to report here!

Off to bed!

Biccy · 12/05/2009 22:35

Hi, the first two OPKs were really faint, then the next was darker, then the next was dark, then the next was faint, then it was gone.... it never got absolutely as dark as the control, but almost - I think it really is a brief window when it peaks, so if you tested a couple of hours before or after you might a different level showing up.. so I just worked on the basis that the peak must be the positive. That worked ok as the peak happend on a due day for BD, so when the next day one was fainter we just got on with it again! Not very scientific I know...

Hope it will give you some hope.. am sure you will be much more self controlled and not test so early though!

It is exciting, but I know I need to try and keep quite cool about it, as it is so early. Can't rule out that it might go negative even before AF is due. That's the downside of knowing so soon isn't it? Still, I am still glad to know we are getting the sperm to meet the egg! It's really all we can do - the rest we just have to leave to nature.

Have you kept up with timetable so far?

Biccy · 12/05/2009 22:39

Thanks polkadot... I do admire your self control. Wish I had some!

And to think I was congratulating myself on here earlier for putting those tests back on the shelf at Boots....

Dalrymps · 12/05/2009 22:51

Ah I see, i'll look out for mine getting darker then. Yeah we've kept up with the timetable night off tonight, on again tomorrow night. We're on CD 11 at the mo.
