Morning all

Hope you're all well?

Crunchy and questions I'm going with summerbird and am saying baby too!!! Oh and holding out for you too MAF

Well it's the day of my appointment so I'm working from home today, I'm actually too distracted to do anything. Note to self - must try harder!

Linwin · 06/10/2008 10:29

Hi ladies,

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

So my last AF was on the 27th of August which makes me CD41 today. I did a test last week sometime and it was BFN. I truly don't believe I am PG as I keep getting those AF back twinges to say she is on her way. I think it might be stress or something and last month AF arrived late as well on CD38.

Anyway my problem is I have to sign the contract for my new job this week, but what if there is a slim chance I am PG!!? Should I go to the doctors to confirm before I accept?

DawnAS · 06/10/2008 11:06

Hey Linwin,

My view is that you should go ahead with your new job, because if you're not PG and you don't sign, you could regret it. They will not expect you to have known this early on, even if you are PG. You have to look after your future and you need to know that you have a job to go back to after you have the baby (if that's what you're planning to do...).

That would be my advice anyway....

Linwin · 06/10/2008 12:07

Thanks Dawn I appreciate the advice.

The added complication is we're also being offered contracts to stay in our current role (but with the new company) and receive the same terms + bonus we got last year. Which is a fair amount of money and there wouldn't be an issue if I was PG or with continuing TTC.

Oh god, I am so crap at making these sorts of decisions.

summerbird · 06/10/2008 12:53

linwin go for it, sign the contract, as dawn has said you wouldnt necessarily be expected to know at this point.

I should hear this week whether i get an interview for the post i applied for, i will cross that bridge when i come to it.

OP posts:
DawnAS · 06/10/2008 12:54

Ahhh, well that makes a difference Linwin. Do you know how safe it will be to stay where you are (is anyone really safe these days...?)?

If you think staying where you are might be safer, that could also be a good decision, because you wouldn't have the stress of trying to learn the ropes in a new place and wouldn't have a problem with maternity benefits.... tricky tricky...

xx

Linwin · 06/10/2008 13:33

I think it will be safer to stay than it will be to leave, as I'll have to work a probationary period of a few months in the new role and they could get rid of me at any time.

Weird thing is my DH seems to be pushing me into the new job. I've explained about the whole waiting to TTC aspect but it doesn't seem to bother him that it could be 2 more years before we could have our own DC.

I know what you guys are saying about the new company not having to know but I would definitely put it on hold for a year or so to build up goodwill

Anyway, enough of me whinging, Crunchy I'm crossing my fingers for you.

wishinanhopin · 06/10/2008 14:50

Hey All
Hopw everyone had a great weekend. Finished my round of Provera yesterday, now waiting for AF to pay a visit so I can start clomid.

summerbird · 07/10/2008 09:04

woo hoo - fingers crossed wishin

good luck to you linwin i would play each month at a time, you may feel secure enough to get PG/TTC sooner than you think

DawnoftheDead · 07/10/2008 13:17

Hey all,

Do you like the new name? Thought it was nice to have a change for Halloween!! I'll have to make another change for Xmas - hmmm, not long to go so I'd better start thinking about it!!

Wishin, I'm really wishin for your AF to hurry up!!! Hope it comes soon for you!!

Linwin, so what was the final decision that you made about the job? It never helps making a decision like that when you think you know what's right, yet someone else isn't as sure.... Whatever the outcome, it was meant to be so go with your gut instinct hun.

Summer, how are you today? I am bloated and still constipated although it has eased a little bit... My cup of tea tastes foul though, I hope that's not going to be a symptom because it's pretty much all I drink (decaf of course ).

I've got loads of boring prep work to do today so I've put my old "Erasure Greatest Hits" album on - I forgot how much I loved those boys!!

Waves, babydust and hugs to everyone else!! - Come on, let's have some more halloweeny names!!

FlirtyThirty · 07/10/2008 15:15

Dawn - my taste buds have goone to pot! Tes curiously is something I have started to drink (didn't before being PG). All food and drink tastes funny and I am ALWAYS thirsty in part because whatever I try to drink tastes so awful I have to stop.
I am hungry but really struggling to find anything that tastes nice. Before being PG, I LOVED cooking and made everything from scratch, not I wretch if I even walk into the kitchen!? Very very odd!!! I'm hoping that I regain my taste soon as my diet is rubbish compared to normal...

Flirty x

saz007 · 07/10/2008 15:37

Thankfully I can still face food, although I have eaten some dried apricots this afternoon and now am feeling a bit odd. I'm constantly hungry, which is a bit disconcerting as I've got ages to go - I'm going to be the size of a house!!! I'm also drinking water like it's going out of fashion! No wonder I'm peeing loads

Please don't laugh at me but for the past few days I've really wanted a pot noodle, I just cant actually bring myself to buy one

DawnoftheDead · 07/10/2008 17:38

Hey Girls,

Flirty, that's so weird that you say that about food. My problem up to now has been the constipation, but today, for the first time, my taste buds have started to change. I'm currently trying to eat Bombay Mix (the only thing I fancied) and it doesn't really taste of anything. I'm actually quite excited because it's the main symptom I've had that's different to last time. Plus, (.)(.)s have been sore for the last couple of weeks, but this afternoon, really really painful, both sides on and off. First one side then the other. Never had that before!! All I fancied to eat at lunch time was a bowl of supernoodles - really didn't fancy anything else. They're so bad for you but it was that or not eat anything!! DH bought me some scrummy cheese at shopping though and I lurve cheese!! Only boring cheddar though for me now.... Also had some definite light-headed spells today...

Saz, if you fancy a pot noodle hun, you have one!! Maybe you'll realise that you don't like it afterall and won't have another one!

For dinner tonight we're being unhealthy... We're having cheesy mash (yum) which is then baked in the oven (they used to make that at school and I used to have it on it's own like that - yum yum) with Spam Fritters (ahhh, another school favorite...) and Baked Beans - yummy!!

Oh another thing - we always treat ourselves to a jam doughnut on shopping day (Tuesday) and I could't eat mine today. Ate half and just didn't want the rest. But of course that could be to do with the constipation aswell...

So do you like my halloween name then?

xxx

summerbird · 07/10/2008 17:51

I am being completely thick here but is dawnofthedead the artist formerly known as dawnas ???? Seriously i am a doughnut!!

I am loving the halloween name though, tres cool!!

Hiya flirty i havent had any food cravings or taste changes yet though i do get that nasty metallic taste in my mouth. My decaf still hits the spot! Though i have stopped the lattes, i tried a large latte with one shot in caffe nero the other day and it was like drinking a pint of hot milk...

Hi girls

Just a quick post as I wanted to let you know that DH and I have had devastating news today - I've miscarried. We're not sure when it happened, but I was referred to the early pregnancy unit at the hospital by my GP yesterday. They did an external and internal scan, and a urine test and I am no longer pregnant.

We're both totally shocked and extremely upset. I have not had the most straightforward of pregnancies as you know - a period after conception, followed by spotting and a general lack of symptoms.

I also wanted to let you know that I'm going to take some time out from MN, but I will be back, I promise.

Big hugs to you all xxx

FlirtyThirty · 07/10/2008 18:20

Oh, Bubba! That is tragic. I am so sorry for you. Huge hugs and stregth to you and your DH. I am so sorry for your loss.

:-(

crunchynutter · 07/10/2008 18:27

bubapp I'm soo sorry. It might be good to have a break from MN but remember you're not alone and it might help to talk to others who have been through the same? Of course only you know what is best for you and I really hope you and your husband are ok. Good luck with everything xx

I've had some bad news too (not havig a great time!) my best friend called me in tears late last night. She has to go into hospital as they have found a normal cells in her smear test. I just didn't know what to say without sounding contrived. I've been bloody useless at work cos ok so worried about her. I've looked it up and I know it could be nothig but that doesn't see to make us feel any better about it all xx

wildfig · 07/10/2008 18:30

BubbaP - I'm so sorry. Hugs to you and your DH. x

heverhoney1 · 07/10/2008 21:06

saz007 · 07/10/2008 22:18

Oh BubbaP I'm so sorry to you and your DH. I hope you both take care of yourselves. We will all still be here when you are ready to come back. Thinking of you xx

DawnoftheDead · 08/10/2008 08:13

Hey Bubbap,

I'm so sorry hun.

Having been there, the most important advice that I can give is to make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to heal, emotionally. At these stages, the physical side heals quickly, but the emotional side can take much longer. And when you're ready, try again. But that "ready time" changes with every single person.

I do know what you're going through and it might not feel like it now, but you will be Ok.

Sending loads of love and support to you and your DH now. Come back to us when you're ready, we'll be waiting.

Loads of love.

D
