DawnAS · 08/04/2009 15:44

OMG Iate, I am salivating just reading your recipe!!

Time for me to go and test my blood now from after lunch and then I can have a snack!! Hmmm, I think it will be scone with butter and no-added sugar jam with a nice cup of tea!!

It's not as boring as it sounds - honestly!! (Believe me, I'm grateful for any sweetness I can get these days.)

By the way, that Pork sounds gorgeous!!!

Summer, you're so lucky - I'm so bored with my job. I didn't get ONE email today so I've done nothing...

Iate, Jelly is a pink one!!

Actually, be interested in your views on these names. We definitely have to have Ellen Rose as middle names as Ellen was DH's Mum's middle name (she died when DH was 15) and Rose was my Nan's name.

So, what do you think of these:-

Ellen-Mai Rose
Mischa Ellen Rose
Sophia Ellen Rose
Maia Ellen Rose (pronounced my-a)
And our current favourite, Lily Ellen Rose.

Strangely, I remembered today that my wedding bouquet and those of my bridesmaids, had Calla Lilies and Roses!! So Lily Ellen Rose would be quite appropriate!!

crunchynutter · 08/04/2009 19:16

That cake sounds gorgeous I have an urge to bake now lol!

I think the virtual baby shower will go down well- I have seen loads of lovely things to bring!!

Summerbird Congratulations and enjoy your time off!

Iate I'm glad you're feeling positive and keeping well, you sound every inch the domestic goddess- Bree Van de Camp eat your heart out

I've been feeling particularly rough today had a really upset stomach last night so my mom has let me stay in all day (I have managed to clean, cook, wash, dry and iron lol) but i've had to literally run to the toilet about three times heaving- it's horrible as i'm not actually being sick but it's like every part of my body is trying to. Not very pleasant! So i;m trying to eat something every hour or so and i'm constantly sipping water to hold back the nausea.

I have my friends coming round tonight though so it should be nice to see the girls xx

BubbaP · 08/04/2009 20:14

Hi girls!

I?ve been keeping track of everyone?s news?. But haven?t had chance to post a long message or to send each of you individual messages. Anyway ? a big hello from me!

IATE great that you?re keeping strong and positive, keep us posted on any developments.

summerbird great that you?ve finished work! Woooohoo! That?s great! How are you getting on with the nursery, clothes shopping, name choices etc?

Dawn we?ve got a very similar taste in names, my favourite ones from your list are Ellen, Sophia, Lily and Rose. How about Ellen-Mae or Ellen-May (I always think of Mai as a Welsh spelling, but you may have your own reasons for using this spelling?). I?d have to agree that my favourite is the same as yours ? Lily Ellen Rose ? love it!

crunchy hope you have a lovely evening with your friends and you don?t feel rough.

Has anyone heard from hever or flirty recently? I really hope they?ll be on here for a virtual baby shower and to share their baby news when the time comes!

Hello to everyone else I haven?t mentioned in person.

summerbird · 09/04/2009 08:44

dawn all of those names are lovely and unusual, i really like Lily Ellen Rose. at least on the day you will have a few to choose from and will be able to go with the one that feels right.

We have been quite fixed on these two names for a few months now and havent budged so here goes:

William Henry - William is a popular middle name in both of our families - he would be shortened to 'Will' to bring it up to date

Ella May - we just love the name! Oh and are fans of Ella Fitzgerald...

bubba good to see you back my little welsh lovely!

crunchy definitely eat when you feel sick, sounds weird but worked for me as i was never actually sick. ginger biscuits are a cliche but def do the trick

Hey everyone!
Dawn it sounds like you have some beautiful names chosen Lily Ellen is a lovely name!

Crunchy i hope your feeling a bit better today!

We have names chosen already for a boy or girl, just hoping there is a little bean and he/she sticks!

PistachioLemon · 09/04/2009 09:51

Dawn, pink jelly (that's so exciting). Well, I like Mischa but I'm biased becasuse my mum used to call me that as a child (my real name is something else because my father wouldn't agree to Mischa).

Summerbird whoohooo, congratulations! Hope you get to have some nice time off before the lo arrives.

Morning to everyone else. [waves]

PistachioLemon · 09/04/2009 09:52

Crunchy sorry I missed you off - second what iate says - hope you're feeling a bit better today. [hugs]

DawnAS · 09/04/2009 10:02

Morning all,

Thanks for the input on the names!!

Summer, loving both your names, equally aswell (which is good since you'll be using one or the other - ha ha!!).

Crunchy, how you feeling today hun? Any better? I was very lucky as I didn't suffer with MS at all, but just got a bit nauseous so found that eating stopped it. Salt & Vinegar Walkers crisps in particular!! Also Sainsburys/Tescos/Asda all do those tubs of mini gingerbread men that they make in the store and they work a treat (and they look cute...).

Iate, how are you feeling today hun? How did your meal go down last night. I dreamt about cakes last night... Also, I got a letter yesterday from "Cow and Gate" with a recipe for Sultana and Banana Flapjacks, they look lovely, but I don't think I could have any yet...

Pistachio, we like Mischa because DH and I (sadly) were big fans of "The OC". In fact, Marissa was also on our list, because we thought we could shorten it to Missy, but then FIL got a dog, called Missy!! So that went out of the window...

So, the hospital called this morning to go through my blood sugar level readings, my diet and how much insulin I was using. They were really pleased with my readings and said that I'd obviously grasped the concept really well. So I was pleased about that. But then I asked the question about the chocolate bar on Easter Sunday and they told me to avoid it until after Jelly is born. I thought considering I was already taking insulin, that they could have just let me have one little bar and tell me how much insulin to take, but they said no...

So I'm very now...

Going off to mope and feel sorry for myself for a little longer, then I'll be back and bright and breezy again!!

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 09/04/2009 10:15

aww Dawn can u maybe get sugar free chocolate?? I dont know if theres such thing.... .

As for me im ok, tested again (i know i shouldn't!!) still BFP bit lighter but been looking online and most people say the colour of the line means nothing, if its there then its positive, so this time thats it no more testing till Monday at the earliest. Its a nice fat pink line so im sticking with that.

DawnAS · 09/04/2009 10:21

Iate, they do have diabetic chocolate, but it's not very nice and gives you the runs (nice - sorry about TMI), so I'll be avoiding that!! You're right not to worry about the line on the test. Was just having that exact conversation with another lady on one of the threads that I'm on. She has been TTC DC#2 for 5 years and in that time has had 3 MCs, all at 5-6 weeks. She's coming up for 7 weeks and even though no bleeding or pain, has tested this morning and worrying because the line is lighter. But it means NOTHING. All tests are different, even if they're from the same packet. Any more signs of bleeding or pain? If not, don't worry. (Easier said than done I know...).

PistachioLemon · 09/04/2009 10:22

Hey Dawn, Thorntons do a 'diabetic' chocolate which I used to get for my Dad and my Grandmother. Sadly (but unsurprisingly) it's not as nice real chocolate.

PistachioLemon · 09/04/2009 10:22

Haha cross post!

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 09/04/2009 10:24

heya nope no bleeding or pains. I think i mentioned i had a tiny bit of spotting after the scan but i think thats due to her prodding me about alot and it was brown.

Had dinner last night it was lovely except for the stuffing, i was adamant it was no good and it tasted chemicall! DH had mine and said it tasted normal so that marmite and stuffing i dont seem to like any more.
Feeling slightly sick this morning but i am putting it down to the stress of the whole situation. Trying not to worry and have this overwhelming feeling of being emotional and wanting to cry when i think about it all which im trying not to do.
My little sis is annoyed with me now to, telling me to stop testing and wait! If only it was that easy.

DawnAS · 09/04/2009 10:28

Oh Iate, it is so difficult hun and it doesn't help that you're not getting the support you need from the medical profession... If you can wait until Monday to test again, then do. Brown blood is old blood so nothing to worry about there, it was probably left from when you had that slight bleed.

Can't remember if anyone mentioned this, but when you had the clotting, it's possible maybe that it was twins and that maybe you lost one, terrible still, but a little easier to understand and live with when it's very early. I just wish you knew one way or the other...

Pistachio, LOL at the x-posts!! My Mum was so poorly when she had diabetic chocolate - yucky!!

xxx

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 09/04/2009 11:01

Dawn thats exactly what i thought about the twin, i'll have to wait and see

heverhoney1 · 09/04/2009 12:28

Blimey I miss a week and there is sooooooo much to catch up on!!! I am officially off work now which is great in 1 way but am currently feeling simultaniously bored, that I am never going to finish my dissertation and Terrified!!!!!

Crunchy I am so pleased for you I know how hard it is when your cycles go all messed up and you think it is never gonna happen! I can vouch for the eating thing helping to keep away MS little and often is the way to go - gingerbread men sound perfect!!

Fairy BRILLIANT news I have everything crossed for you

Iate I am sorry that you are going through so much, this is a time of worry for every newly pregnant woman and the last thing you need are medical professionals who are that unsupportive (not even sure if that is a word but you know what I mean)

Dawn you sound like you are very well behaved with your GD. Not long to go now - just look at it like an extended period of lent! not long to go now and may the chocolate return!!!

MAF and Vix hope the IUI is going well and there are more BFPs to come in this amazing month!

Summer How are you feeling now?

So sorry I know I have missed people out but I will return and add more - I have not forgotten you - P.S anyone hear from Flirty she has to be 38 weeks now!!!

heverhoney1 · 09/04/2009 12:29

Oh Dawn you are much better at the names thing than we are we cant agree on ANY!!! - I am a little biased about your middle names though as my middle names are Rose Ellen lol

DawnAS · 09/04/2009 13:41

Hever, how amazing that your middle names are Rose Ellen!! One matching middle name is always nice, but two is amazing - especially when they're quite unusual aswell - wonderful!! Well they're definites so I'll remember to tell Jelly all about this coincidence when she's old enough!!

So, shall we arrange your Baby Shower for next week some time? I think most people can get on through the day or early evening. I can't do Wednesday (watching my little nephew in a dancing competition - bless) but other than that I'm free.

You choose the day and we'll all slot in!!

xxx

PS: Did you like the idea of 80s theme party food? You know, Cadbury's Mini Rolls, Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers, Cadbury's Chocolate Animals, Jelly and Ice Cream, Party Rings, Egg Mayo Sarnies etc etc....

heverhoney1 · 09/04/2009 14:35

They were both my nans names which is lovely! As for the shower - Monday (As DP will be around) and Weds (Anti natal appointment) are the 2 days I cant be on much but other than that I sould be fairly tied to my computer.

summerbird · 09/04/2009 15:47

dawn LOL at your post re the baby shower food, not that you have chocolate on the brain or anything.....

hever i am off work too although have a little further to go than you, i am not bored yet but have been doing lots of sorting out in the 'nursery' and general pottering about, i went to get my hair done today which was the first proper outing on my own for over a week, am shattered now tho!

happy easter everyone
