hi, oooh never been here before.

can you halp.

i've had 2 negative tests. one at 7 days late. one at 2 weeks late. seen doc (for something else) day after 2nd test. queried could 2 tests be wrong?

she said yup. do another test when 4 weeks late. then make an appointment (had colposcopy few months ago. had normal periods since though. but just incase)

is there any tests that are more reliable than other. read something about boots own brand picking up lower levels of hormones.

also had a few symtoms all week. but feel really ropey today. almost hurled in tescos fish counter. and everything making me really queasy. even the though of certain stuff.

summerbird · 28/09/2008 16:04

aww girls i feel all emotional! dont you worry i am sticking on here and will gladly save the MS stories for another thread!! so far so good though!

welcome elmoandella i can say from experience that the boots own brand ones are rubbish! my first test on friday showed an almost non existent cross but the clearblue digital one was absolutely definite. Just to try out the hormone theory i did another boots own make one today and it was still a faint cross (although more noticeable than friday).

i would say do a cheapo test first but go to Clearblue for your definitive answer.

Dawn and MAF i will see you about 6.00 for sunday dinner!!!

OP posts:
elmoandella · 28/09/2008 16:22

went for first response. says should be accurate from 6 days before. so surely for this far overdue it must pick it up.

DawnAS · 28/09/2008 17:28

Hey Elmoandella,

I have heard that some people haven't got a BFP until they're about 6-7 weeks PG, so maybe that is the situation with you? I wouldn't give up hope just yet.

Summer and MAF, dinner was lovely. Couldn't manage the Jam Roly Poly though so having that for tea instead...

It's taken me back to the old days when most people had their Sunday dinner at Lunch time and there were no shops open. Sundays actully used to be quite boring as a child, but at least we had proper summers and after Sunday lunch, we'd be off to the "Rec" (Recreational Ground...) to play on the "Witches Hat". Do you remember those? I think they're banned now...

Oh well, got to do some more work now.

summerbird · 28/09/2008 17:44

ahhhh wasnt the witches hat a roundabout - or one of those swings that you swung round?

the 70s were cool!! our park was right behind my parents house and was massive. our house now is also right behind a park which is so cool!

OP posts:
DawnAS · 28/09/2008 18:04

Yep Summer, it was a roundabout type thing. It was shaped like a witches hat with the seats all around where the brim of the hat would be and it swung around a pole in the middle. Used to love it!!

Ahhh those were the days....

Babydust for all!!

Oh MAF, forgot to say, this is my first month temping so I'm not really sure what it's all about yet.

All I will say is that after AF, my temps were around 36.5ish but after OVing, jumped up to between 36.71 up to 37.05 (Highest yesterday). Today, it plummeted to 36.83 and has been accompanied with very odd cramps low in my abdomen and back, like mild AF pains. Only DPO10 aswell so not quite sure what it is. CM is normal though, no spotting. AF is due in around 4 days so I guess I'll see.

Won't be testing until I'm way past my AF due date anyway, I'd quite like to me past my MC time before I test. May sound silly but for my sanity, I need to stick to it...

Hello lovelies,

Just back home today after a lovely long weekend back in Ireland seeing my gorgeous new nephew. God you forget how tiny they are, I was so nervous lifting him to start with.

I should really be doing some online research as have another job interview tomorrow - yuck. but just wanted to check how you're all doing and say hi and catch up on all the news.

Congrats to Summerbird and Bumps - absolutely delighted for you both!

Dawn fingers crossed your finances get sorted for the house. I really hope everything works out for you.

Just checked and I am CD33 today, but what with everything thats been going on we haven't exactly been trying too hard so not going to bother testing or anything as AF will be here soon enough I'm sure.

xxxxx to everyone else who had a bad week last week

summerbird · 28/09/2008 19:10

dawn just looking at your temps i dont think a 37.05 to 36.83 is exactly a plummet, i dont know much about temping but that still looks a bit high. and i think you have definitely got a really good idea about when to test, sounds very sensible to me.

welcome back linwin i love ireland and all the very best of luck for your interview tomorrow

ahh yes the witches hat, i used to love it and always seemed to get flung off it at some point!!

DawnAS · 28/09/2008 19:11

Just got home form Bella's birthday party and haven't properly caught up yet, But need to say...Summerbird - I am so sorry you were worried about breaking your BFP to us!!! I really mean this when I say I was praying you would be PG, esp. when I knew I wasn't!!! You honestly made my cycle! I know some of what you've been going through and I knew you wre having a tough time TTC. I'm thrilled for each and every BFP! They really brighten my day.

To all our PG ladies, I want to say that I want to hear about what you guys are going through!! It makes all the crap seem worth going through and also maybe there'll be days where you tell me how I'm lucky for not having all the symptoms. And we can make you jealous about our wine drinking and cheese and sushi eating!!

Crunchy and Dawn - we can be miserable together!! But Dawn you're right! When the time is right, it'll happen for us all!

I am thinking about cutting back a bit on MN to try to be a bit less obsessive about TTC. But I will definitely be popping on once a day! I can't leave any of you guys!! Dawn and MAF - thanks for the email address offers, I think I will try to hang around, though! I would miss you guys too much to leave!

BSL x

bluestarlavender · 28/09/2008 21:21

OOH and hello to all our new friends joining!!

crunchynutter · 28/09/2008 22:32

hello! Good luck for the interview tomorrow linwin!! dawn I am very jealous about your dinner! My lovely hubby usually cooks us gorgeous Meals (I alwYs enjoy a Sunday dinner too!) but we have been out ALL day so I have only snacked! Am actually quite hungry now I have stopped work and come to bed but it's far too late to eat! I will enjoy my crunchy nut in the morning LOL

Anyway, we were out all day to visit my new baby nephew. He is absolutly gorgeous and so tiny!! I did get a bit soppy when my DH held him. They looked so cute together! We were the first visitors too so I feel he will have a Special bond with me now LOL.

I have the funeral next week anyway and was thinking I
Might try to get to the doctors the same day if I can mange to get it off work. If not I am determined to book into doctors in the half term to put my mind at rest A little. I hope all of you ladies have had a lovely Sunday anyway and have a great week!

Crunchy xx

summerbird · 29/09/2008 08:55

BSL you sound a little happier today, thank you for your kind words - i am thrilled you were thrilled for me!! anyway i want you to make me insanely jealous about drinking wine and having runny eggs!!

just got into work, i usually get some brekkie and a latte from the deli downstairs but have eaten brekkie at home and brought my own instant coffee in, used the excuse that i was cutting back on money - seems to have worked so far!!

OP posts:
saz007 · 29/09/2008 09:04

Morning all,

Hope everyone's ok today? Breakfast time seems like sooo long ago but mustn't eat anymore til lunch.

I have a question I'm hoping I can get some ideas on please? I'm going to a baptism on Thursday and am totally stuck for a gift to buy? Any suggestions girls? I don't really want to go down the "silver money box" route, but if I can't think of anything else, that's what I'll end up with!!

bluestarlavender · 29/09/2008 09:25

Morning all,

Summerbird - hehe!! I think the credit crunch will let you get away with quite a bit actually...not going out drinking, or for sushi etc etc. I'm just so pleased you can call and cancel the x-ray now!! It's great when things happen like that!! Feels like it was meant to be!

Saz - We got Bella a silver tooth fairy box to put her teeth in when she's little and jewellery in when she's older! I wanted to buy her a piece of jewellery for when she's older, but DH pointed out it would end up all tarnished, so we didn't. I think my sister would have been happy with some money for Bella's savings account too. Is it a little boy or girl??

Crunchy - AAAhh at your new little nephew! I always get a little soppy when my DH plays with Bells or our friends little boy! Good luck for the doctors this week and also I hope the funeral goes okay...

Waves to all!!

BSL x

saz007 · 29/09/2008 09:40

Hi BSL it's a little boy, sorry I should have said I like the tooth fairy box for a little girl tho.

bluestarlavender · 29/09/2008 09:50

Saz - what about a bottle of port that could be laid down til he is 18??

I'll have a think...boys are always harder!

questions2008 · 29/09/2008 10:40

Hello girls, another monday another week eh?

Well I tested this morning (i know i know, crazy), because I had a couple of days of sore boobs and over the weekend had a light fluttery stitch thing going on in my lower abdomen. But obviously I got a BFN as it's way too early either way. So now I'm just not going to think about it for another 2 weeks when AF is due (err, yeah right). But I've still got the on-off stich going on, like a lighter version of period cramps but not painful, although boobs aren't sore anymore

I wish we could just have a clear sign like two blue lines on our foreheads

Vix67 · 29/09/2008 11:05

Hey all,

I'm feeling better today too, so that's good!! We're all feeling more sprightly! Off to see the psychic later so will tell you all what she says!!

Summer, I've sent you an email about the book that you sent me, drop me a reply when you get a mo!!

Saz, this may seem a bit boring, but for my nephew's Christening, I actually ordered a copy of "The Times" from the day he was born and they put it in a lovely leather presentation folder with his name and DOB engraved on the front. So when he's older he can read all the headlines from the day of his birth.... For my two nieces, I got them silver bangles (which neither of them ever wore), but I had them engraved and they've still got them, not that they could wear them now!!

So, I'm DPO11 now and I'm still getting twinges and stuff, so who knows. Boobs are a little more sore but are on and off really. Nothing much different to last month though when I was convinced I was PG, but wasn't. So I guess we'll wait and see. Although normally get brown CM on DPO10/11 but nothing yet....

Crunchy, this may seem a blonde question (yep, that's me - blonde from the bottle!!), but did you choose that name because of your passion for "Crunchynut Cornflakes"?

Big waves and hugs to everyone else. Thanks so much all for cheering me up over the last few days!!

xxxx

summerbird · 29/09/2008 12:40

Hey dawn and BSL i like your christening ideas! My dad bought me and DH the copy of The Times on the day of our wedding which is in a box. I also like the vintage port - very original!

I have just blabbed to a close work colleague, she started blubbing for me in sainsburys!! Was ever so funny!! I am actually going to be open about it, and if something happens then at least i think that people can be there for me (my parents are in Newcastle).

Anyway, MAF have you been doing any yoghurt potting??

Here's to a happy Monday! and bucket loads of baby dust for all..!

Guys I do like the ideas, thanks very much. I really like the port one very original!!!

I have another favour (how needy am I today?!? ) It's my FILs birthday this week and altho we have the pressie sorted - phew! There will be a family birthday dinner, where I am known for my love of red wine (so I can't even replace it with apple juice). PIL know that I've given up alcohol as we are TTC, but no-one else knows about this (and noone outside of DH, me and you guys know about the BFP!) so would be expecting lots of comments from SIL if i turn down a glass of wine. How do you think it would go down if i had a glass of lemonade and said there was a vodka in it? Or do you think that's really obvious? I may even have a small glass of wine poured for me and stick to drinking water or juice. I just dont want to get rumbled!!!
