BSL I totally understand why you need some time out.

I feel so blue myself after everything that has happened and although I have this new job coming up, it means we're going to have to put TTC on hold for a couple of years which makes me so

I wish you all the best of luck and take care of yourself.

OMG Dawn Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it would be your month. Doing a happy little dance for you now

Hever I know what you mean about the knicker checking - I do it every time I go to the loo and I'm terrified

Oh BSL I'm sorry you're leaving I can understand and totally support your decision, as I think we all do. You know that we'll all still be here for you when you want to come back right???? Please, please, please take care of you and your DH and hope that you do pop back and say hi

DawnAS · 03/10/2008 18:42

Thanks Saz.

So, after my rant earlier, I've had the worst possible news (for me...). I'm really sorry if this sounds selfish, but my sister that I was talking about, has just called to tell me that she's 7 weeks pregnant!!! . You probably all think that I'm a nasty cow, but I'm not, honestly!!

I'll try and explain. As I said before, I'm 34 and she's 23. I waited all my life to find the right man and get married. Literally a week after DH proposed to me, she announced her engagement to her now DH. Then the same night, they announced that their wedding was going to be before ours. She knew how long I'd waited to find the right guy and had been through such awful times, but she just couldn't give me that special time, even though she was only 21 at the time.

Our relationship became a bit sour and we decided to go out for dinner to sort it out, where she announced to me "I always knew that I'd get married before you, I was convinced you'd never find anyone!!". She didn't seem to understand how hurtful that was.

So again, I'm getting my life together and I get BFP. Then she announces that she's 7 weeks pregnant. But she actually says (bearing in mind she doesn't know about my MC or that we were TTC), "I didn't know how to tell you, but everyone else knows so I thought I should let you know". I couldn't believe it! I didn't even congratulate her and now I feel awful. But she just sounded so smug.

It's really ruined my week...

dawn i hate to say this as i dont know your sister (and hate speaking ill of other peoples family but...) i agree that your sister is a tad selfish. It sounds to me like she actually probably looks up to you and her competitive streak manifests itself in the most annoying ways. I really hope you guys can work through this, especially as your bubbas will be the same age.

Oh and i too am frantically knicker checking, i have a stinking cold and when i sneezed earlier i got a shooting pain in my groin area, which panicked me.

welcome back flirty i shall join you in a tipple of - oo tesco flavoured water!

off for a bubble bath now

Morning Everyone,

BSL really sorry that you're leaving MN but i fully understand. You have to do whatever's going to make you feel better. When you feel it's right we would all love to hear how you're getting on.

Dawn i understand how ur feeling with ur sister, and agree with summer on thinking that your sister looks upto you and maybe slightly envious so feels as she has to compete. Try and concentrate on yourself and your own little family, and try and not get too stressed as you need to relax as much as possible over the next few weeks.

linwin great news about job but for having to put ttc on hold. Good luck with everything xx

Hi to everyone else, hope you're all enjoying your weekend!! I babysat last night for my dp's sisters baby he is soooo adorable!!

xx

BubbaP · 04/10/2008 14:24

Hello girls

Dawn ? congratulations on the BFP! So thrilled for you . Sorry to hear about the difficult situation with your sister, but you need to keep focused on your DH and your little bean.

Linwin ? congrats on your new job! Sorry you?re having to put TTC on hold. I started a new job in January, but decided we would start to TTC as soon as I was eligible for the full maternity benefits which was after about 7 months. Obviously every company is different but you might be able to TTC sooner than you expect.

BSL So sorry to hear you?re leaving the thread. We will really miss you. Hopefully you might re-join us in the future. Good luck with everything.

Hever Good to see you?re still on this thread, my (almost) EDD twin! 10 weeks today for me!

Flirty Hope you and the bean are doing well too! Sorry you?re suffering with MS. I got my scan date through yesterday, it?s going to be on 17th ? day after you!!

Summerbird Big hello from Cardiff!

Well I've had another mixed week - had the 2nd of the 3 funerals yesterday and am absolutely dreading the next funeral which is early next week.

On a much more positive note, I've just found out I'm having a big pay rise (5k) from next month, which is perfect timing with the expense of having a little bub! And I got my 1st scan date through, so totally focused on that now

Hello to everyone else!
And babydust to all

crunchynutter · 04/10/2008 15:26

BSL I hope you are feeling ok and will know we are here whenever you are feeling ready to come back xx

dawn I am soo pleased for you. You Make sure you are lookig After yourself! Big hugs!! {{{{}}}}}

bubapp congrats on the payrise! It is really good timing for you! I can't imagine how difficult the funerals must have been. I have to go tony uncles Thursday and I am dreading it. Good luck anyway xx

Anyway, I have had a lovely start to the weekend! My husband whisked me away straight after work yesterday and took me to the opening of an art gallery. We stayed over night so got to sip on plenty of Champagne and I really liked one piece and my lovely hubby has said he is buying it for me he was trying to keep it secret but I think my hinting got a bit too obvious so he admitted he'd alreDy sorted it with the owner was a lovely evening. And a rather nice wake up this morning too xx

questions2008 · 04/10/2008 16:03

BSL I know what you mean, MN can get a bit too much sometimes. Hope to see you in the future

So knowing-ladies, as this my first month of doing all this (checking, counting, hoping etc etc) I think I have mastered recognition of the egg whitey, stringy CM that signals ovulation. So that stopped a couple of days ago and now (sorry if TMI!) I'm getting quite a bit of white discharge, not stringy at all, so the opposite of pre ovulation CM. What does THAT signal??

summerbird · 04/10/2008 18:13

hiya vix i love cooing over other peoples babies, what fun!!

bubba woo hoo on the pay rise, what perfect timing too, that is significant enough to make things much easier (such as child care etc)

crunchy how fabulous! you sound like you had a lovely time and well done on your DH buying your piece of art!

questions i really dont know hun as i get CM quite a bit, maybe you have just finished OVing??

well i have an exciting evening of X Factor and tesco flavoured water ahead of me! quite looking forward to it actually, i had a latte in cafe nero and asked them to just put a single shot in it - it felt like a cup of milk - will get a small next time!

I'm thinking of playing a new game LOL. Bug, baby or bullshit LOL. I have had recurring feelings of nausea over the week but am not ill in any other way. So could it be a baby sign? Something I've eaten or drunk That doesn't suit me or perhaps it is just bullshit And I Am imagining baby symptoms (there is nothing else by the wAy, my legendAry. Sore (.)(.) haven't even kicked in this month yet !) god we really could drive ourselves mad-every tiny feeling or change and I'm wondering if there's a baby LOL so place your bets!
bug
Baby
Or am I really going mad (finally!) and it is just pure bullshit?!?!?!

DawnAS · 04/10/2008 18:48

Crunchy - I'm sooooo going for BABY!!!

What a lovely night you had last night, my DH doesn't seem to be romantic like that - . Although saying that, he does do most of the housework and if we have a take-away, he ALWAYS goes out to get it. He also ALWAYS carries the shopping bags and has done since we've been together, including if we're going out girly shopping for me. I love to see him carrying a big pink Jane Norman bag and a big bag from La Senza - but he never complains!!

Summer, ooh strange you mention CM, I was going to say about that. Mine has always been quite bad. Do you think that's why you knicker-check a lot? It is with me. After the last time, even though I suffer with CM all the time, I still expect to see brown/red CM. It's almost becoming an obsession!!

Bubbap, that payrise is awesome - it'll make such a difference - how fab!! Do you think my company will do that for me when I tell them?! I doubt it ... That's great news and no doubt well deserved!!

Hey MAF, Vix and Questions.

Loads of babydusting flying up from the South-West!!

crunchynutter · 04/10/2008 18:57

thanks dawn LOL I hole your right but I've got. Horrible feeling it will be the third option and I am reading into things too much! I have two tests so am considering a morning test but am very doubtful it will say whAT I want it to!

My lovely hubby is very romantic but tries to do it discreetly lol. I love him to bits though and we did have. Great night!! xx

crunchynutter · 05/10/2008 11:26

hey girls. I'm throwing myself into my weight watchers diet today-wish me luck! LOL xx

questions2008 · 05/10/2008 11:51

crunchy can I play too?? I could have sworn I felt sick in asda yesterday... ooh good luck with the WW!

Now, I'm a bit confused. I went to see my diet lady (I lost weight a while ago but I still go to see her to keep check on it) and she keeps note of when I started my periods. So apparently, I started on the 13th Sept, which means I'm now on CD23. I'm pretty sure I had the stringy CM 27 Sep - 1 Oct (CD14 - CD19). Does that mean my next period is due 2 weeks from CD19, ie CD33? Because that wouldnt make sense, as I usually get my period about 29/30 days after my period?

summerbird · 05/10/2008 14:32

oo crunchy and questions - for you both i am saying baby

oo and crunchy good luck with WW - i have successfully done slimming world a few years ago but tried again last year and was rubbish, i have no willpower! but you go girl!

Hi all.

I finally told my sis and brother-in-law last night. They were really pleased for us and had pretty much guessed anyway. They say they can see a fake excuse for getting off drinking miles away as they had to do it for so long when they were going through there fertility treatments.

They are so much stronger than I could be and I am so in awe of their strength, I even got a hug off BIL and I dont think he has hugged me in the 19-20 years I have known him.

crunchynutter · 05/10/2008 16:43

congratulations! It must be lovely to tell people! I have decided to see how I am this week as I don't wAnt to waste a test or be disappointed as I am On my own this week anyway and don't want to get depressed and ruin my diet by eating. Tub of ben and jerrys! If I have nausea this week though I may give in and test next weeekend! LOL I am weak I know!

The diet has gone really well today though on a positive note! I have even measures cereAl out into little plastic containers as I am rubbish in the morning and itwill save me time whilst sticking to my diet! I am very proud of myself xx

DawnAS · 05/10/2008 16:59

Hey Crunchy,

I love WW. I find it such an easy diet to do and to stick to!! I tended to try and save 4 points a day and have a blow-out at the weekend, but I'd never be able to eat them all because by then my stomach had adjusted - but it always worked for me!! Since coming off the pill though, I did notice that the weight didn't go on as quickly as it used to... But I was planning to start WW this week if I hadn't got the BFP. I am still going to try and watch my weight though. I don't want to end up taking 18 months to lose the weight afterwards!!

My DH used to do the diet with me aswell but I was always so envious. I'd get 18 points a day and he'd have 32!!! He used to sit there in the evenings pigging out while I had my 2point packet of walkers crisps!!

Anyway, hope everyone's having a really great weekend!!

makingafamily · 05/10/2008 19:24

Evaning Ladies

Hope you've all had fab weekends

xxxx

summerbird · 05/10/2008 19:44

hey there MAF when did you yoghurt pot? i know the boys were away for a bit but if you did it a couple of days after OV you might be onto a winner.

oo hever how exciting for you, i think that telling people makes it all the more real, not that i am feeling it yet, in a twisted way i am wanting for a bit of MS just to authenticate it.

how is everyones weekend then? i am just getting over my cold just in time for work tomorrow

OP posts:
crunchynutter · 05/10/2008 20:10

Aww that's really encouraging to know dawn! I went to the meetng Thursday but couldn't really start properly tip today as we were away. I reAlly think it will work though! I had the same idea as you I think-I want to be as slim and healthy as possible before I get pg or I'll never lose it! I tried cutting down and stuff when we started TTC but I think I've managed to put it on!! I get depressed and eat chocolate but now the though of being weighed should make me stronger! I've found it quite eAsy though as a lot of the food is whAt I eat anyway. It's made me realize that my problem is portion size and snacks! I had twice admich as I should thinking it was ok cos it was quite healthy and then thaT would also encourage me to 'treat' myself to sweets and chocolate! It really has been an eye opener it's reAlly good to hear it worked for you though! Xx
