Oh Iate , how gutting for you and DH. I really don't know what to say hun. I know at my scan I was barely 5 weeks and there was a tiny little sac, but hardly anything really so they had to do bloods to be sure. And I had the MC later on that week.

So did they do your bloods aswell hun? They should have done them today and then again in 48 hours to see if the HCG levels had gone up. My tests got fainter so if yours are getting darker, I would say that more HCG is being produced. It's really confusing.

Is there any chance that you could be much earlier than expected? Did you BD on lots of different days? A test with 2-3 weeks could be more on the side of 2 weeks and mean that you're only 4 weeks PG, at which point they wouldn't really see anything I don't think...

I know it's really hard, but do try and refrain from testing until next week... You may find that your symptoms will give you the answer fairly quickly anyway. If they intensify, then you're more likely to still be PG, but if they lessen or go away completely, that will also give you an answer, although not the one you want to hear... So sorry for you hun. Especially when you'd almost got your head around a MC before and then your hopes were built again by more tests.

Thinking of you and your DH through this stressful and upsetting time.

Sending you lots of good vibes plus loads of hugs and kisses to see you through. Make sure you come on here and vent as much as you want to and if you want to speak away from MN, let me know and I'll send you my email address...

IAATCEY I've replied on the other thread but agree with what Dawn says here. [hugs] I'm around too so do vent if you need to.

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 07/04/2009 12:23

heya Dawn nothing mentioned about bloods at all! I asked and was told only if its a suspected ectopic will they test bloods! The digi test sat was within a min 2-3 positive, yesterdays test BFP almost straight away and much darker line than the other.

from my calender we assume AF started 26th Feb, it may have been a couple days later, but i def finished AF on the 2nd March.
We B'd 2nd,3rd,4th, 12th,13th,14th and then nothing since for that month.

I just cant comprehend why im still testing positive, lines getting darker, boobs still sore (only started being sore since i about stopped bleeding). Maybe I am just to early to detect on a scan. I seriously hope i get some big symptoms in the next week to put my mind at ease. Or like you said that they disappear so i know either way.
Thanks for being so kind to me Dawn its much appreciated, I called DH and he said 'is that it? so we still dont know anything!?'

DawnAS · 07/04/2009 12:30

I'm appalled Iate that they didn't do your bloods!! That's a sure way of telling whether a PG is progressing!!! If it's progressing, your HCG levels rise dramatically day by day, if it's not, they fall. That's how they confirmed my MC!! I'm really cross and confused for you honey. Bloody bloody ridiculous - do they not realise what it's like for a woman to go through this?! Just proves that we're all numbers to them...

Sorry sweetheart, I know this isn't helping you but I'm just so angry.

I am praying for symptoms for you aswell hun...

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 07/04/2009 12:37

so am I Dawn! They literally sent me home with a test in a little foil pack and told me to test again! I've called my surgery and the GP who saw me yesterday should call me this afternoon. She said its not 'normal' practise to test HCG levels and it would take a week to come back. Well fine I'll wait a week, get some blood taken tommorrow, more taken on Friday and then we should know by the end of next week!
Like you say they see me as just a number! Over 2 weeks i've been worrying for, if I am pregnant I shan't be giving birth in Bath hospital.

DawnAS · 07/04/2009 12:41

You bloody stand your ground and make sure they do test your bloods!! How long does it take to do a blood test for goodness sake!!

Just shows how different PCTs work I guess. I'm in Torbay and they do have a very good reputation in the Antenatal and Maternity units - don't know that the rest of the hospital is much good though...

Hope you get to speak to your GP later on. Try and keep your chin up hun, but I know how hard it is.

I'll be thinking of you... xxx

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 07/04/2009 17:42

Hey Dawn well GP just called me, was reluctant to do as she called 'serial HCG tests' as its not common practice ussually done by EPU. I explained this had been going on far to long now and i still dont know whats going on!
She said i could go in for blood test tommorrow and next Tues due to the bank holidays. Hopefully we'd have the results by the end of the week. But guess what the surgery cant fit me in till next week!

I am about to scream about this whole process now im so! angry, disheartened and feeling messed up!

Logging now as DH has come home and needs to me lift rubbish from my car to put more rubbish in!

DawnAS · 07/04/2009 19:01

Oh Iate, . Have you tried calling the EPU again to see if they'll do the test for you? That's where I had my bloods done and being a hospital, they should be able to do it at any time. I had my first lot taken on a Thursday and had to go back on the Saturday morning for the next lot. They called me that afternoon with the results because the use the labs on site.

It's getting bloody ridiculous and it's sooo not fair on you and your DH that they're putting you through this.

Try the EPU again and make a pest of yourself if you feel up to it...

Vix67 · 07/04/2009 19:57

Iate i am so sorry for what you and your DH are going through. Its bad enough without the hospital bein so bloody awkward. They have obviously nevr had any problem ttc or they would clearly understand how worrying and frustating it is.
Dawn is right pester them until you get what you want. xx

laurielou · 07/04/2009 20:31

iate really sorry to hear what you & your DH are going through. Thinking of you, xx

summerbird · 07/04/2009 21:37

iate so sorry and about the way you are being treated by the hospital. they obviously havent got a clue what a rollercoaster of emotions this has been for you. i agree with the girls that you should kick some butts until you get what you want, regardless of whether it is not 'usual practise' that implies that it can be practise if necessary

sending you good vibes xx

OMG Iate, I just remembered something about after my MC!!

About 4-5 days after I finished bleeding, I did a PG test and it was BFN!! Bear that in mind if you're still getting BFPs considering you stopped bleeding sometime ago... Not wanting to raise your hopes but thought I should tell you.

Everyones different and it may be that some people continue to get BFPs for longer, but my BFN was very soon after I had the MC.

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 08/04/2009 11:09

hiya all well im OK today. Boobs were quite sore last night woke this morning and they felt huge/swollen and sore and after scan yesterday had some spotting, very light and now just have some brown cm.
Not going to ask for hcg tests or anything, as im making a name for myself now.
Dawn i started bleeding 27th and stopped bleeding Thursday 2nd, so like you i'd assume i would have stopped testing positive by now! Esp as i didn't bleed heavily or anything like that.Planning testing once over weekend and again Tues. Unless i have any bleeding or anything before then!
Had huge row with DH over the whole thing last night, he said im becomming obsessive about it and if im pregnant then i'll have a baby and he's right! He still seems pretty sure i am pregnant too. I just want to know but like he pointed out lots of woman do a test and thats it they know their pregnant so im going to stop obsessing and take it day at a time.
I have had this wierd achy feeling on my left side these past 2 days, its like a tightening or something not sure what it is any ideas?

How is everyone else, im getting bored of myself now and would love to know how your all getting on!

DawnAS · 08/04/2009 11:54

Hello Iate,

You totally have to do what is right for you so if you're worried about doing the HCG tests, then don't hun.

Sorry that you had a row with your DH. With this PG, my DH and I didn't even talk about it for some time because he was scared that something would go wrong. We just got our heads around it after we'd been for the 12 week scan, then we got the high-risk result for Downs, so through my DH back into quite mode again...

Anyway, as for your pains in your left side, absolutely had that (you tend to notice these things if you've had an MC or a threatened MC). Assuming that you are PG, the little one has to burrow very tightly into your uterus/womb to make sure that it's safe and secure and they have to do this on one side or the other. Mine was also on the left-side and that's what I put it down to. So is probably implantation pains. I also started to get period type pains at night aswell and they always disappeared when I went for a number two... . So don't panic if you get those aswell.

So, things are fine with me, really bored at work so spending most of my time on Mumsnet. It's Jelly's 31st week pre-birthday today. The weeks are going to quickly!!

What plans has everyone got for the weekend? My DH is working on Friday so I'm going to chill out with my dog and cat, watch some really girly films (love The Holiday and Love Actually) and eat something other than chocolate... boo hoo!!

It's our first wedding anniversary on Sunday so we've booked to go out for dinner. Other than that, think my SIL and her family are coming around on Saturday at some point. I really like them, but sometimes can just do without it TBH. I like to cocoon myself with DH and our animals at the moment and don't really want anyone else around, it feels like a real invasion of privacy when people come around.

Gosh aren't I a miserable cow!!

I want to ask everyone to eat LOADS of chocolate for me as I can't have any... make sure you tell me what you've had though so I can salivate to my hearts content!!

xxxx

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 08/04/2009 12:56

ooh thanks Dawn! Hope you have a lovely weekend as for the family i totally understand how being alone with DH is much preferable to being with lots of family!

I'm of to bake a chocolate walnut cake and prepare a nice big pork roast dinner for DH its the least he deserves the way i've been the past week! He'll be happy to have dinner on table when he gets in and the cake hes not expecting so it will make a nice suprise for him! I'll eat a nice big piece for you.

DawnAS · 08/04/2009 13:41

Ahhh thanks Iate, that cake sounds gorgeous!! Your DH will be so chuffed when he comes in.

That's another thing to add to my list of things to eat after I've had Jelly - I might need to get someone to make it for me though as I've got a feeling a may be a little bit busy - ha ha ha!!

Oh well, I know it's early afternoon, but just going off for a shower now - aren't I lazy!!

xxx

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 08/04/2009 14:06

not sure how it will turn out its been a while since ive baked - cue mad dash to shop whilst cake in oven as i'd forgot the icing sugar!? heheh

As for late to have a shower nah im having a bath once the porks in the oven, big joint needs nearly 3 hours to cook. enjoy the rest of the day its lovely and sunny here

PistachioLemon · 08/04/2009 14:21

Mmmmm, chocolate cake. Can I have the recipe if it's a nice one please?

Oh, and my only tip is that if it has real chocolate in it (as opposed to cocoa powder) make sure you line the tin properly to stop the edges and bottom getting too crispy and bitter.

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 08/04/2009 14:38

looks ok its chocolate and walnut cake you still want the recipe?? Its on the window cooling down, then i can finish it of. Porks in the oven, taters all prepared, and carrots and parsnips soaking in honey as we speak. Ohh cant wait i love cooking a roast dinner!

summerbird · 08/04/2009 14:54

mmmm roast dinner and chocolate cake - lets all whizz round to iate's house for dinner tonight - see you there!!

PistachioLemon · 08/04/2009 15:12

Yep, I'm coming to yours for tea too!

Yes please for the recipe... I'm on [email protected] mmmm yummy

DawnAS · 08/04/2009 15:25

I'm coming too!! Just wondered if there was any way, Iate, that you could take the chocolate out of my slice of cake and the honey off of my veggies?!

Alternatively, I could just give myself 50 units of insulin instead of the normal 6 and eat ALL OF IT myself while you guys watch!! Obviously I will let your DH have a bit Iate, since it is for him and I wouldn't want to be greedy!!

xxx

PS: Very unhealthy sausages, boiled potatoes and veg for our tea - boring...

Ladies,

I just had a thought, isn't it about time we organised Hever's Baby Shower? She must be nearly due now!!

Next time she comes on, if I forget, can someone mention it to her?!

xxx

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 08/04/2009 15:32

lol Dawn!

Cant do much about the cake but im still having healthy cabbage, mixed veg without honey! Just the parsnips and carrots are better roasted this way My roasty potatoes should be ok for you with the pork! Im cooking it in tin foil right now hoping it will keep all the juices in, then cut the cracking of and get that cooking away nice and crispy.
Failing that bring plenty insulin with you, and i'll save some walnuts from the top of the cake
Clearly DH are not the health concsious kind!
