Hey ladies

I don't think i've ever cried tears of joy and then tears of sadness in such a short amount of time

Fairy I have no idea what to say other than i am so so so sorry that your angel was taken from you and DP and that i think a tree for Rowan is a beautiful idea.

Bubba i actually squealed when i read your messaged (and i'm not a squealer!!)

Sometimes i feel like me and DP are on the worlds longest and hardest journey to start our family and then reading this thread gives me a big kick up the ass to realise that if i think things have been long and hard so far, its not even started!!!!

On a different note and i wont post this story now but Linwin if you were worried about having 2 ex's at a wedding remind me to post about my best friends wedding (where the guests included my DW, my ex fiance, the guy i had an affair with, the other guy i nearly had an affair with, the guy that took my virginity, and a "straight" friend i had a one night stand with and a "straight" friend i had a fling with!!!) Would you believe me if i said its not as bad as it sounds???

Big Waves to everyone else

xxxx

BubbaP · 15/02/2009 10:29

Thanks girls for all your wonderful, kind messages. I'm so glad to know that you're all here to hold my hand through the next couple of weeks and months!

I'm 5 weeks today and so far so good. We're keeping everything crossed that our journey is a smooth one this time! We've told our immediate families this week, but we're not telling anyone else or even thinking about celebrating until after the 1st scan.

Hope you're all OK... have we got anyone on the 2WW? I think there's lots of baby dust around this month!

MAF tell all about your best friend's wedding - sounds like a good story!

hugs to all *

crunchynutter · 15/02/2009 15:30

fairy we are all thinking of you and will always be here to support you whenever you need or want to talk xx

MAF you alwAys manage to make me laugh, that story sounds fab! I hope everyone else is good? I too would like to hear about any 2ww's, up coming scans, baby kicks or anything else cheerful while I, yet again(!) have nothing of great interest to say LOL xx

summerbird · 15/02/2009 15:44

MAF for the love of god tell us that story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, can i join please?
Think i joined a while ago but your threads move so quickly i got left behind.
Need some moral support and feel like i am in the same boat as you all (apart from those with the BFP )

Where are people up to here? Are you all trying and been trying for ages with little or no sucess? (like me)

crunchynutter · 15/02/2009 18:45

Hey deany and welcome! I have bee. 'trying' since June although my periods only returned the end of November. It feels like forever already but I know there are people who have been trying for longer so I try to stay positive! How long has it been for you? Xx

Linwin · 15/02/2009 19:10

hi Deanychip and welcome.

Well I've been trying since June as well - although had about a 4 month break as I started a new job (which i hate by the way) so just starting back TTC again. How long have you been trying? You will get plenty of support from the lovely ladies on this thread.

Oh MAF, the wedding was blooming awful. I felt so awkward and maybe it was just my paranoia but I was sure I clocked dirty looks from a couple of people who are close friends with one of the ex's. Like for goodness sake, it was almost 10 years ago and none of their goddamn business anyway! Poor old DH hadn't a clue what was going on but thought it was really boring anyway so we had a couple of drinks and a bit of a boogie and went home to BD TMI I know!

DawnAS · 15/02/2009 20:35

Hi all,

Welcome Deany, this thread is so friendly and supportive, you'll get all the babydust you need here!! So what are you trying at the moment? Other than BDing obviously!! Are you temping or using OPK sticks? I did OPKs the first month and fell PG, but unfortunately had an MC 5 weeks later. We then got PG again 6 weeks later and was temping that time, but believe me, I know that falling PG that quickly at the age of 34, is very very very rare... So how long have you been trying. It took my sister a year each with both of hers, she did eventually need some assistance, my friend took 6 months for each of hers, so I think anything under a year is fairly average.

MAF, I'd also love to hear the wedding
story!!

Linwin, sorry you had a crap time at the wedding. I do know what you mean though.

My wedding story is similar. My best friend got married about 5 years ago (marriage lasted less than a year although they'd been together 14 years when they got married!!). I was a witness and my ex-fiance was best-man. His wife was there and gave me daggers the whole time. To top it off, there were two more of my exes there. Both with their girlfriends who were also giving me daggers. The funny thing, was that one of those exes is my now DH!! We saw each other there and even though he was with someone else, we knew that we wanted to be together. I didn't see him again for months until I received an email saying that he'd split with his partner and the rest, as they say, is history!!

Crunchy, how are you doing hun?

Bubbap, hang on in there girl, you'll be fine. The weeks seem to be flying for me now and every time I get to Wednesday and I'm an extra week PG, I think - Ooooh, another week for Bubbap too!! You'll be at 12 weeks before you know it hun!!

Summer, how are you doing sweetie? I hope your bump is Ok. Jelly's just enjoyed my beef casserole and bannoffee pie!! She's having a little kick right down in my groin to let me know - bless!!

So, I've had a week off this week but back to work tomorrow - . Oh well, such is life I suppose...

Hope everyone else is Ok. Thinking of you if you happen to log on Fairy.

Hi! I am not too bad thanks dawn it's my birthday Thursday and my DH is taking me away for the weekend so it should be great! Ive got a throat infection and am struggling to talk at the moment but I'm hoping I'll be better by then! As you know I lost track of my cycle as I was so upset when I came on last time but I think I should be due around the time were away so I am hoping I don't come on for several reasons!! Fingers crossed!

It's lovely to hear you are feeling lots of movement dawn it must be so exciting xx

deanychip · 16/02/2009 17:57

Trying for nearly 2 years.
4mcs all in all. Last one last March.
Got a 5 year old.
I have just started to chart my cycle seriously over the last 3 months, from 24 days to 34 days so i am all over the place.

Not doing any thing other than Bding, no ovulation sticks no cm nothing like that, jsut cant bring myself to do it as i feel that it will only magnify my utter diapointment every month.

So here i am baron it seems!
Got an apointment with the gynae bod next month. Maybe he can tell me what is wrong because there is something clearly very wrong with me.

DawnAS · 17/02/2009 16:03

Crunchy, well happy birthday for Thursday hun - how lovely to be taken away!! I hope you have a really wonderful time!! xx

Deany, sounds like things have been really traumatic for you. At least you've got an appointment to see someone and maybe he'll give the reassurance that there isn't anything wrong, but at least if there is something that can be sorted out, you'll be on the right path to resolve it. Keep your chin up hun, easier said than done I know...

deanychip · 17/02/2009 18:33

What advice would you all give to improving the chances of conception?

So far i have:
Lost weight to get to a healthy BMI
Cut out aclohol
Cut out tea and coffee...occasional decaf coffee
Healthy diet (weight wachers, tons of fruit and veg)
Taking folic acid.

What else can i do with out having to piss on ovulation sticks or check what position and output of my cervix is today??
REALLY dont want to go down that route.

DawnAS · 18/02/2009 11:47

Hi Deany,

You've made all the right moves so far. The best way though is to monitor when you're ovulating and to be honest, the only way to really do that is to use Ovulation Kits, checking your CM or temping. Even if you have a regular 28 day cycle, you may not ovulate at the same time every month and you may not ovulate in the middle of your cycle either, everyone is different.

If you don't want to go down that route yet, the best way is to BD every other day once your AF finishes!!

xxx

deanychip · 18/02/2009 12:43

Hi thanks for that.
This is what we have been doing for the last 2 years though.
I even get ovulation pains and time things around that..still nothing.
Got an apointment with a gynae bod next month so some light at the end of the tunnel.

Just got AF today,,,day 27 of the cycle.

DawnAS · 18/02/2009 13:41

Oh dear Deany, I'll really hoping the gynae-bod can give you some answers - what a pain in the backside!!

xxx

summerbird · 19/02/2009 09:09

Hi guys and welcome deanychip i agree with dawn that at least if there is something wrong then you are on the right track to getting things sorted.

How is everyone else today? Do we have anyone on the 2WW? Any imminent testers??

Hey all,

Summer, can you believe that I'm ill - AGAIN!! I finally recovered from the cold at the weekend and I've now woken with the most awful sore throat for the last couple of days. Yesterday I thought it was due to snoring (my only real PG symptom has been nasal congestion so I've started snoring... ), but it got worse through the day and I can hardly swallow now. As you can imagine, paracetomol does nothing!! I'm really fed up with it. My only pleasure is hoping that Jelly is being kept well with all the goodness that I'm obviously not getting myself!! To top it all off, our company have now announced that everyone will be getting a pay cut this year!! I hoping that it's just 2.5% for me as some of the cuts range to 20% for the most Senior staff!!

So all in all, it's a pooy Thursday!!

xxxx

summerbird · 19/02/2009 12:57

dawn i was told when i was ill at xmas that the bean takes all of your goodness which is why when we get colds we suffer more than usual. i found that drinking hot juice (any kind of juice but fresh orange with boiled water was fab) really helps.

rubbish news about your pay cut, especially at this time fingers crossed for you hun

Hey ladies - how is everyones weekend going? I havent stopped all day, doing lots of DIY which is productive but extremely dull

i need some exciting chat!!

makingafamily · 21/02/2009 22:16

Hey all

Our swimmers arrived in the uk today. Its weird but it makes me feel like we're a little bit closer

xx

wildfig · 22/02/2009 19:54

MAF that's really exciting! When are you going to do the yoghurt potting? Do the swimmers have to sit in quarantine, or anything? I am imagining them arriving in big refrigerated lorries like the flower trucks.

Sorry to hear about the illness and paycuts. How much more gloomy can things get?! At least the weather is improving... (touch wood)

I am on the 2ww right now, and would be getting excited by faint twinges and tenderness if I hadn't had them every single cycle since I started checking myself for twinges and tenderness.

summerbird · 23/02/2009 12:43

ooo MAF how exciting, it is certainly moving on for you isnt it? do tell all about the yoghurt potting!

wildfig fingers crossed for the 2WW, dont worry about the lack of symptoms - if you remember i didnt feel any different when i got my BFP, in fact i only took the test to see if i could have a bottle of wine!!!

I just realised - the last time i got hammered was in September...ah the memories

OP posts:
heverhoney1 · 23/02/2009 13:06

Pah you lightweight last time I was Hammered was in JUNE!!!!! !!!!

Hever will be such a cheap date by the time she can drink again lol.

p.s I spent most of the time around testing crying as I had such bad period pains I thought I was pregnant but was about to loose the baby. Turns out it was just the little madam bedding in! I dont think signs and twinges are an indication either way until you look back on them.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx BIG DOSE OF BABY DUST XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

heverhoney1 · 23/02/2009 13:26

lose not loose obviously - The living proof that baby brain exists is here!!

DawnAS · 23/02/2009 14:03

Hello gorgeous ladies!!

Wildfig, absolutely agree with the others - second PG (this one) had hardly any symptoms. Only things I noticed was that normally my hair falls out loads in the shower, but it wasn't falling out as much. Also, sometimes used to get hot flushes leading up to AF, they stopped. That was it!!

Ahhhhh alcohol.... [dreamy emoction] I miss it so much!! I did actually have a small glass of white wine on Saturday AND a small glass of red wine last night. Totally unlike me but I'd had such a lovely weekend with DH that I really felt like treating myself.

Hope you've all had lovely weekends too!!

Work is really quiet at the moment so I'm currently reading Dawn French's "Dear Fatty" that my sister got me for Xmas!!

Any exciting gossip from anyone?
