Fairy am thinking of you, cant imagine how you must be feeling. I know I would be the same and would be clinging on to any little hope that things might turn out OK.

Hello to everyone else, hope you're all ok xx

crunchynutter · 24/01/2009 11:53

Hi all-I've just had to have a big catch up! fairy I hope you are dealing with this as well as you can. I know how terrible you must be feeling.

dawn a girl is fabulous news! Go mad with the pink

I'm sorry I've been away-as I said, AFs stopped coming every 4days and I had a 21 day cycle which I though was good but then AF was really painful and heavy for a day and a half theN spotted for a day then went it's now been 16days I think but I've been feeling 'funny' and thought it was coming early again yesterday (it's he boobs! Very painful but I've not had cramps which I had before!) I've also been a moody cow! I guess my bodies not quite settled yet but it's very confusing isn't it?! Xx

DaphneDM · 24/01/2009 21:28

Hello can I join in too?

I've been off the pill and 'seeing what happens' for a year and started ttc properly last month but got AF last weekend (at least I think I did, it was a bit shorter than usual and five days early). One of my best friends announced she was pregnant just before Christmas and have just found out my little sister is pregnant too - both straight from coming off the pill. Am thrilled for them but also feel (guiltily) upset - what's wrong with me? Reading your posts have been very reassuring that not everyone gets a BFP straight away - but am still worried I'm turning into a paranoid obsessive!

Sorry for the rant - need to get it off my chest!

xxx

Vix67 · 24/01/2009 21:55

Hi everyone

welcome daphne its completely natural to feel upset , i think we have all felt the same at some point!!
Have you been to your gp?? I went to mine after ttc for over 9 omonths, i stretched the truth a little bit and said i had been trying for over a year and i got referred to hospital for all the check ups, etc..

And dont worry i am already a paranoid obsessive ha ha!! Have you started weeing on sticks yet??!!

crunchy hope ur feelin a bit better!!

hope everyone is havin a nice weekend

xx

crunchynutter · 25/01/2009 14:31

daphne just to let you know, my husband and I have been 'seeing what happens' too but my peiods have only returned November after being on the injection for years and I still don't know what's going on cycle wise! I know how you feel though. I'm trying to be very laid back and 'wait for nature' but there seems to be people everywhere getting pregnant very quickly! We will all have our time though!!

summerbird · 25/01/2009 17:43

hey daphne and welcome to the 'wait and see' club! yep we are all on your wavelength and know exactly how you feel, it is frustrating when you have people tell you how 'easy it was to get pregnant'

i agree with vix get yourself to the GP for a referral - it cant do any harm.

hope you all had a lovely weekend

We are very excited too about getting back to TTC again. Only one more AF and we're there.

Hopefully will be a bit of a smoother journey for us both this time around!

Hey all,

Sorry I haven't posted much this week. Compulsory Redundancies at work and unfortunately I have to prepare and send the letters so it's been a bit crap really...

Summer, I can't believe I missed your birthday hun!! I'm so sorry - Happy Belated 36th Birthday!!! I hope that you had a lovely time and were spoiled rotten!!

Welcome Daphne, are you sure you didn't have an implantation bleed last week? With my first PG (unfortunately had an MC but now 21 weeks PG again), I had an implantation bleed which felt like an early AF as it was 5 days early... Could it be a possibility? Stick around, it's been quiet recently but we're normally a chatty bunch... January blues I think... Stick with us though!!

Big kisses and hugs to everyone else!!

Fairy, how you bearing up hun?

So, had our 20 week scan today (at 21 weeks + 1 day) and our little girl is perfect. She's the size she should be and was jumping around all over the place. We saw all the areas of her heart and all the organs that we would expect to see at this stage. The Sonographer kept saying what a gorgeous baby she was... We had to agree !! In the early hours of this morning I had my first real kicking from her aswell that I could feel outside of my body, which was lovely!! It turns out (I found out today), that I have an anterior placenta (lying against the front of my body) which explains why I hadn't felt a lot of movement up until now because she'd been kicking the placenta instead of me, but she's making up for it now!! She hasn't stopped wriggling since!!

Anyway, I hope that all you girls are well and I will post a longer message tomorrow. But for now, I'm exhausted and going to have an early night.

Hugs and kisses girls!!

summerbird · 30/01/2009 08:47

Hey dawn dont worry, i have had a manic few weeks at work too, not as crazy as you i gather. I will send you a catch up email this weekend.

I too felt my first full on kick on Tuesday night, i was sat in the bath and it gave me a good welly! i had a pamper spa for my birthday yesterday and the baba was going ballistic!!

So how is everyone today?

OP posts:
DawnAS · 30/01/2009 12:23

Hey girls,

It's really quiet on here at the moment isn't it - I'm one of the main culprits too!! Now the PC is down in my office, I usually only have the energy to venture down here through the day when I'm working, plus we don't have central heating down in the lower ground floor yet so it's quite chilly.

Anyway, no more excuses "Must Try Harder"!!

Summer, looking forward to a catch up with you. I thought you were supposed to bloom and have lots of energy during the second trimester but I'm more knackered than I was during the first trimester!! Also, now we leave on a hill, everytime I take the dog out the walk is getting shorter and shorter. I keep forgetting though that I'm carrying over an extra stone in weight which may have something to do with it, but it's purely the pain in my legs that slows me down!!

Any news from "Flirty", she's not been on for ages and I believe her little one is due soon isn't it?

Crunchy, how are you hun?

Hey to Linwin, MAF, Vix and Daphne. I wonder where Fairy is, I hope she's Ok...

So, I've finally posted a pic of our little girl from the scan yesterday!!

Hugs and babydust all round girls.

Dawn your little girl is gorgeous-that really is a great scan!! And summer i'm sorry I missed your birthday-hope it was great !

I secretly have my fingers crossed anyways- I am on CD 22 and as you know AF was coming at 21 days but the last one was lighter and only lasted 2days. I know it's a buy optimistic as my cycle may have just lengthened again buy I'm trying to think positively! Hope you are all well :-) xx

DawnAS · 31/01/2009 09:28

Hello all,

Oooh Crunchy, I've got everything crossed for you hun!! One of our ladies on the other thread was on month 10 of TTC number 3 and got a BFP last week, we were all so thrilled. Now wanting the same for you!!

Summer, they do all look very different don't they, are you going to put a pic on your profile of your little one. In a few months we can all start guessing on the gender of your little one. It's amazing when you compare the 12 week pics with the 21 week pics aswell. Both of mine were very clear (apparently it helps if you're slim and all my weight seems to be hips and bum at the moment!!) but the 12 week one, even though she looks like a baby, is quite skeletal. But I think in this one she looks like a proper baby!! After all the worry at the beginning I can't believe how much in love with her I am when I look at the pics and feel her moving. I just hope it stays like that... My best friend was like that and then when her little girl was born, she didn't bond with her at all and neither did her husband. It took a good year for them to even really like her. Now she's their world (she's just turned 6) but it was really hard for them for a long time.

MAF, thanks hun. I can't wait to read all about the experiences that you're going to have over the next few months - I'm wanting time to move a bit faster for you!!

Hever, how is your little bubba doing hun? Things all moving along nicely? I've been googling average sizes for 21w foetuses today and our little girl is exactly where she should be (give or take 1-2 mm) so I'm really chuffed with that. She was never going to be a big baby as DH isn't that tall and my sister had two very small babies. But as long as she's got all her bits and they're all in the right place, I can cope with a small one!!

Linwin, how are you doing hun? When is it you're planning to start TTC again? Can't be too long now!!

Hello to everyone else!!

DH and I are off for a nice expensive meal tonight. My boss dropped me an email to say that as a thank you for all my hard work recently, I should take DH out for a meal up to the value of £100 and expense it. Well, as much as we have some gorgeous restaurants down in Torbay, it's difficult to spend £100 on two of us when one of us can't drink!! So we've picked "The Orange Tree" which won restaurant of the year for the South West last year and decided that we'll choose a bottle of Sancerre (our favourite white wine...) and ask to take it home and have it after our little girl is born!! So we're really looking forward to that!!

Other than that, I'm looking for Moses Baskets and Baby Bouncers today. We ordered our pram/pushchair/car seat in the week and had it delivered to Mum's house so we're off over there to check it over aswell to make sure it's all Ok. Then it'll stay there until just before our little one is born. Then the week after next we're off to IKEA to buy the nursery furniture all of which will be built and put in the nursery, other than the cot which will stay at Mum's. I know it sounds like we're doing it all really early, but DH has to start a really intensive home study course for Electrical Engineering which will take him to right when the baby's due, so we want to get it all done now so he can concentrate.

Gosh, ever get the feeling that your waffling? Sorry ladies!!

I hope you all have a really lovely day and I'll be back on line later on.

xxxx

crunchynutter · 31/01/2009 22:02

Thanks Dawn but day 23 and AFs arrived. I know I was being optimistic but I'm still sad. Oh well, maybe next month xx hope everyone else is good xx

BubbaP · 01/02/2009 14:09

Linwin · 01/02/2009 17:55

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Mine was really good, although we were out both friday and saturday night so we've been lounging on the sofa all day. Getting too old for 2 nights in a row!

Crunchy so sorry that AF turned up.

Dawn hope you had a nice dinner, and sooo exciting that you are choosing all the lovely baby things.

Hi Buppap good luck with the 2WW...

Yes, I'm counting down the days until TTC - AF still here so it will be a week or so before we can start again. Its been such a long wait.

waves to everyone else

Hello ladies,

Well, our meal was lovely on Saturday. I started with a Pearl Barley Soup with root vegetables which was just beautiful, then I had an apple sorbet, main course was Duo of Pheasant and Pigeon wrapped in Pancetta and served on a sauce of apple and golden raisin with potatoes and vegetables (so gorgeous) and then for dessert, we were quite full so we shared a Trio of Mini Desserts (Sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream, Creme brulee with hazelnut shortbread and Rich chocolate tart with compote of red berries and creme fraiche ice cream). All of it was just beautiful. We had a bottle of wine and I had one small glass, which I split into two servings and drank with alternate mouthfuls of still mineral water. It was nice just to have a taster of it, I miss my wine. It came to £95 so I did manage to spend my £100 limit after all - brilliant!! We even bought half a bottle of the wine home with us so, since I have a cold, I may well treat myself to a glass with dinner this evening. So all in all it was a lovely meal and the service was outstanding. If anyone's ever down this way, I would recommend it!!

DH finished decorating the nursery this morning. We have a biscuity colour on three walls and a light coffee coloured carpet. But the piece de resistance is the beautiful Nursery Rhyme Mural that we bought online which covers the whole of the back wall. It looks amazing. When the furniture is in there, I'll take some pictures. Although we won't put the cot in until nearer the birth.

So, how is everyone? Who's on the 2ww now other than Bubbap?

xxxx

makingafamily · 02/02/2009 23:01

OMG Dawn please tell me more about the "Trio of Mini Desserts (Sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream, Creme brulee with hazelnut shortbread and Rich chocolate tart with compote of red berries and creme fraiche ice cream)"

The funny thing is before i was TTC i didnt have a sweet tooth but in the last 6 months i've gone pudding mad!!!

Ladies....today we done it.......

We bought our sperm! After months of checking the euro and trying to be at home between 10 -4 at the same time, today we went for it. So £3500 late we have our euro swimmers. We both melted when we actualy ordered it. I can't really explain it but its like we've just got half of our childs genes. I'm still a bit freaked out but amazingly happy

DawnAS · 03/02/2009 09:07

Oh MAF, that's amazing news!! So what happens now? Does it stay where it is or does it have to be shipped closer to you. Tell all!! Are you waiting a little while until you actually start TTC with it though? I'm sure I remember you saying March/April... Sorry if I've got that totally wrong!!

My BIL is an award winning dessert chef and he and my sister own a lovely restaurant/pub about 5 miles away from us in the Teign Valley. So I've got used to very gorgeous desserts during the time that they've been married. But I am a sucker for the stodgey hot desserts. At our wedding, I astounded the hotel by wanting hot apple pie and clotted cream for our dessert at our sit down meal!! That has to be my favorite I think. Homemade Apple Pie with Cream - yum yum!!

Where is everyone? Playing in the snow I would imagine. We finally got some snow yesterday afternoon and our labrador loved it because she'd never seen it before. She barked at it at first but then she raced around the garden like a mad-thing!!

Anyway, going to see DH off to work now. Catch up later all!!
