Hi Vix

Different stats range anywhere between about 10-20%. Although i think 20% is very optimistic and 10-15% is more realistic. The difference for us is £500 pm instead of £3500 pm and that it is less drugs and we can go every month. Think we're gonna try between 4-6 medicated IUI cycles before we look at IVF. Although IVF is about 40-50% success rate. Choices, choices eh?

Hi guys

I remember when flirty got her BFP - how cool that we are all here and supporting eachother. In just over three months we will have our first First Time TTC baby!

Today is no better at work - but that is because i have just thrown a raspberry smoothie all over myself - i thought the lid was on so i shook it......

Holy Have you heard about the CB Fertility monitor. Its fab

MichaelaS · 16/01/2009 00:28

ooh yes, the CB monitor is great, i got pg the first month of using it! once I get past the 12 week scan i'm goign to lend it to a friend who is TTC too.

HolyGuacamole · 16/01/2009 01:23

The CB monitor?

HolyGuacamole · 16/01/2009 01:24

Pregnant first month.....do tell?

summerbird · 16/01/2009 11:50

thats just coz michaela is a randy little minx!

OP posts:
makingafamily · 16/01/2009 16:34

The CB Monitor is fab

www.clearblueeasy.com/index.php?page=ourproducts&subpage=fertilitymonitor

You can pick one up for about £60 and it costs about £10pm in pee sticks. It gives you 2 Peak Fertility days per month and also a few extra high days and you don't spend hours discecting pee sticks trying to decide whether its positive or not, or was that just me

MichaelaS · 16/01/2009 22:02

not that randy i'm afraid!

we were trying for 5 months and I decided to start temping and get some ovulation sticks too. Went into boots and came out with the clearblue monitor. you need sticks too, you either use 10 or 20 a week (depending on how long your cycle is).

like makingafamily says, it gives you 2 peak days and some high days too. also, if you use it for more than one month, it learns about your cycle too and gets more accurate. much better than looking at test sticks and trying to work out "how positive" an ovulation positive is!

i also had pet names for the levels, which in our house were called low, high, and EGG!

having said that, i'm sure we got pg the night before the first of 2 "egg" days.

MichaelaS · 16/01/2009 22:02

i'm not on commission by the way!!

summerbird · 19/01/2009 12:28

How is everyone today? Had a good weekend? I got to see my friend's newborn baby boy on saturday - he is adorable!

Vix67 · 19/01/2009 13:09

Hi Everyone

Happy Monday!! Hope all are well!!

I invested in a CB monitor last month and it's fab!! But think im obviously obsessed with weeing on sticks cos i still do ov sticks just to confirm things ha ha!!
Well my nasty nasty Af arrived yesterday so am now officially off clomid!! I have been going to my acupuncture so am just hoping that i start to ovulate naturally now!!

I also have my next hospital appointment in 2 weeks so will find out more then about what happens next!!

Thanx for the advice on IUI MAF I will see what the doctor suggests and go from there.

xx

fairywing · 19/01/2009 17:54

Just to update i went for the second scan today. There had been some development. A fetal pole has grown to 7mm in the last 2 weeks. Unfortunately that only dates me at 6+4 when i should now be between 9 & 10 weeks and there is still no heartbeat.

I hae opted to leave it for 2 weeks to see if i miscarry naturally before going for medical or surgical management. Will probably opt for surgical.

Thank-you for the support through this.

MichaelaS · 19/01/2009 22:15

sorry to hear that fairywing, not really sure what to say other than we're all thinking of you.

summerbird · 20/01/2009 13:27

fairy i am sorry hun, again all i want to say is that i am thinking of you. take care hun and stick with us. x

Fairy I was so sorry to read your news. I'm thinking of you.

Take care - we'll be here to support you through this x

Vix67 · 20/01/2009 19:45

Fairy I am so sorry , really sorry if im being dumb or insensitive. But if the fetal pole has grown, is there still some hope?? xx

heverhoney1 · 20/01/2009 20:30

Fairy I am so sorry. My heart sank when I read your post I was thinking of you yesterday. I hope your story has a happy twist coming like Dawns did xxxxxxxxx

fairywing · 20/01/2009 21:49

Not dumb or insensitie at all. Thats the bit i am struggling to get my head around, the baby can't have died if its still growing. Thats why i am opting for a natural miscarriage. I asked the nurse about this but apparently its still a non iable pregnancy as there is no heartbeat and it is too far behind.

makingafamily · 20/01/2009 21:56

Fairy I'm so sorry to hear that hun but as Hever said i hope there is a happy twist in your story
xxx

DawnAS · 21/01/2009 20:19

Fairy hun, I really hope that this is resolved for you one way or the other and I really hope that it works out for the best!!

Summer, sorry I haven't been in touch hun, it's been madness. When's your second scan to check out the little one's heart? Let's hope he/she parades it's heart proudly for the camera this time so that they can give it a good check over!! Little monkey hiding itself last time!! I've got my scan next Thursday which I'm really looking forward to.

Big waves and hugs to everyone else!! Sorry that I'm not able to answer you all individually, but have to get back to work!!

xxx

wildfig · 21/01/2009 23:10
