Dawn Im really sorry they've messed it up for you. I know it won't make you feel any better but I really think you should put in an official complaint. Especially(as you said) due to increased risk of miscarriage they should be as careful and accurate as possible. Surely they should be aware of how much blood they take?? It sounds like you have made a good decision though but I know how much you will worry throughout the wait. I hope it does all turn out fine for you (obviously!). But just so you know, a cousin of mine has a little downs. I don't know all of the INS and outs to be honest as she is several years older than me-however, she has lived a normal life and just needed a little help with Learning and coping srrategies but she is now a fully functioning adult, married with a beautiful baby(healthy by the way) and she is doing great! You honestly wouldn't know! I think it is very personal what you decide to do if you do get a result you wouldn't like but we are here to support you either way.

Well, I'm fed up!! I have started my third, yes third period this month, as I said, I had very light spotting for two days. Then just over a week later it came back, still light but heavier and lasted a week. That was just under two weeks ago. I've had a crap week at work, been really moody and yesterday I was in agony with stomach cramps and I've woke up this morning with heavier bleeding it's painful, I'm grumpy and there's no way were going to make a baby cos we've had no time to fit any BD ing in!! I'm sorry, just wanted to get that off my chest-my body is officially a mess!

MichaelaS · 06/12/2008 13:18

Hello all - yes I did test - and got the faintest of faint lines!!!!!! don't know what to think, am going to test again tomorrow morning. Am very excited but am trying not to get my hopes up too soon just in case its a CP.

Will tell you more tomorrow!

summerbird · 06/12/2008 19:01

michaela do a couple of cheapies then get a clearblue test for the final BFP! keep us posted i am soooo excited for you! i got a really faint line first time too but the cheapies are rubbish anyway.

i have been suffering all day today, i cant take anihistamine and have a dust allergy, i have literally sneezed non stop all day. dont know what set it off. the pharmacist basically said there is nothing i can take other then rubbing vaseline on my nose!

baby dust for all the testers!

oh crunchynutter? i've just seen your post, poor thing that sounds such a pain. hope it gets better for you, and that you get some rest and time for BD. xxx

BubbaP · 07/12/2008 10:41

Hi girls

We came back from Italy in the early hours of Thursday so I'm just catching up properly with everything that's been happening here.

Dawn I can?t stop thinking about you and what you?re going through at the moment. Stay strong ? you are doing brilliantly. Big hugs.

MAF has your AF arrived yet? Have you had your blood test results back? Hope all is OK with you, please keep us posted. And please don?t feel like a fraud on this thread ? we?re not all TTCing all the time!

Crunchy I can?t believe you?ve had 3 AFs this month, you poor thing. Hope work is a bit calmer for you this week too.

Big welcome and hellos to GWAC and ttc2yrs. GWAC it sounds like I?m in a similar place to you, had an MC in October and TTCing again now. I also hate grapefruit juice! Ha ha!

Am I right in thinking that we have 2 BFPs this month so far??? Fantastic news Fairy and Michaela. Please keep us posted!!! Wow what an early Christmas prezzie for you two!

Vix glad to hear that you?re feeling chilled about this month!

Saz great news about your test results.

Summerbird sorry to hear you?ve been sneezing so much? maybe it?s worth asking your GP when you see him/her next if there?s anything you can take?

I'm on the dreaded 2WW although it may turn out to be more like a 3WW! My cycles have been almost a week longer since my MC in October, so not really sure when I should test? The earliest my AF would have been due was yesterday (if on a normal, pre MC cycle) and my AF could start as late as next weekend.

I've got a really busy week in work and socially so think I may just wait until next weekend to test if AF has not arrived by then. I've got a couple of symptoms... spots and sore ()() but they could be AF or PG symptoms! argh!

baby dust to all*

MichaelaS · 07/12/2008 20:16

Well I tested this morning again and it was still faint but slightly more pink than yesterday.... am using a 10mu test so very sensitive. will test again tomorrow and see if its any better, then maybe buy a non-cheapo test to make sure!

Fairy how is it going for you?

baby dust to all***

Vix67 · 08/12/2008 12:20

Morning Everyone!!

WOW ive only been away from mumsnet for a couple of wks and it looks like we have 2 BFP's!! Well done fairy and michaela!!
Any tips for us ttc ladies?? Did you do anything different this month??

Dawn i will keep praying that everything turns out ok for you and your little babba.

MAF please feel free to ask me any questions about the clomid!!

Bubbap good luck with your 2WW, I am now on D17 so am also on the dreaded 2WW.

I have been feeling quite chilled this month about it all, but now am starting to symptom spot aaahh!!

Would absolutely LOVE to get a BFP for Christmas!!

Big hello to everyone else and to the new ladies!!

xx

fairywing · 08/12/2008 20:01

Hi all, well 5 days later i'm still getting faint but clear positives if you know what i mean! I have phoned the docs and have an appointment for next week cos my gp is away till then and i am calling in to pick up a form tomorrow to be referred to the hospital for a blood test to confirm in the meantime. I'm hoping i can go straight down and get that done in the morning. I have no idea how long the results take to come back though...does anyone know??? I am paranoid i will have it done and they will tell me i've got it wrong Been having lots of crapming but nothing to bad so fingers crossed thats just settling in. Quite nerve racking though. Other than that boobs slightly tender and a bit of nausea although i think that could just be excitment to be honest. Didn't do anything different this month so no tips really, just seemed to time it right!

Dawn hope everything is ok with you hun.

summerbird · 08/12/2008 20:11

oo fairy and michaela it is all very exciting!

welcome back vix and bubba

crunchy hope your AF's settle down, you poor thing you must be so fed up! You are more than entittled to be a little grumpy!

Well my sneezing degenerated into a full blown cold and i have been off work today, i literally couldnt lift my head off the pillow this morning. I am off to bed again with a steaming mug of green tea and my scooby hot water bottle!

Good night all

OP posts:
MichaelaS · 09/12/2008 15:31

poor you summer, sounds like a horrible cold. Please try not to sneeze on us here!

fairy sounds like we're doing exactly the same - I'm having cramps too, not painful ones but enough to worry me, but this morning my boobs were sore and still testing positive with no sign of AF so am slowly becoming convinced i'm actually pg.

This month - well I didn't really do anything different, but I did get one of those funky clearblue ovulation monitor things. It was expensive but obviously worth it. Didn't even BD on peak days (i had 2), but on the day before peak which was "high". Just got lucky I guess. On cycle 6 it was just about my turn I think!

So, where is everyone else - anyone testing soon? What is everyone doing over christmas? How are you going to avoid the alcohol if you are 2ww over the holidays?

saz007 · 09/12/2008 16:01

Fairy and Michaela congrats ladies very excited for you both!!!!

Summer you poor thing, your cold sounds dreadful. Best place for you in bed.

My sniffle is still hanging around, bah, but I'm taking some (slight) comfort in the fact that at least my nose isn't blocked. I've had one cold like that while I've been pg and it's horrid not being able to take anything.

I have my work's christmas party next Friday (19th) in an Italian on the quayside. It should be alright, but for once I won't be the last to leave!!! After all there's only so much OJ a girl can drink

I had my 16 week MW appointment yesterday, and I was a little disappointed if I'm honest. I thought she'd listen to the heartbeat but I was told they don't do that anymore as too many mums were getting worried if they couldn't hear anything - so I have to wait....rubbish I don't know if they will listen at my scan or not (that's on the 22nd Dec) or whether I'll ahve to wait till my next appointment, but that's not til Feb next year!!!!
Other than that they just took my blood pressure, tested my wee and had a feel of my tummy to see if the uterus was growing. I was told it was fine, which was a relief as I don't have a bump yet - is it wrong to have bump envy?????? Who'd have thought??

Dawn thinking of you hun xx

Crunchy I hope things settle down with you lady

BubbaP welcome back! Did you just love Florence? We did and I'd love to go back.

All those on the 2ww fingers crossed for you

Waves and Hello's to everyone I've missed

Anyway ladies, hope you are all well

summerbird · 09/12/2008 17:53

ooo saz would that be the quayside in Newcastle? I used to go there loads when i lived there, which italian restaurant are you going to?

and so you are a week ahead of me then, i have my 16 week appointment next friday and was wondering what they would do, to be honest i have been a little disappointed with the midwives here (for the record my mum is a Practise Manager in a surgery in Northumberland and she said they are much more proactive there). I also think it depends onthe scanning machine as to whether you will hear the heartbeat on your 20 week scan, I know ours here was a little outdated so i wouldnt be surprised if i dont get to hear mine either [fsad} Oh and I have bump envy too! I do have a little bump but i am pushing my luck convincing people i am actually PG!!!

michaela whoop whoop! i know what you mean, it took me ages to really convince myself i was PG.

My cold is getting better now, i will have to go into work tomorrow as the stroppy cow has been on her own for two days and will be moaning - i will show her how ill i have been and sneeze on her

will keep the lurgy away from all you lovely ladies though!! [fgrin}

saz007 · 10/12/2008 08:32

It would indeed summer! I haven't been down there for ages. We're going to Azzuri, near the millenium bridge just behind pitcher and piano. I've never been but I've heard good reports.

I'm 17+4 today, I can't believe it's whizzing by so quickly.

One of the boys I work with was asking if I was showing yet (I took that as a compliment!!!) and he told me I looked radiant - bless him. I think he was mistaken for embarrassed tho

I can't wait to be off for Christmas, I'm finding it hard to get motivated at work at the minute - is it just me??

Enjoy your days ladies

summerbird · 10/12/2008 17:48

ah saz that sounds like the one that used to be Est Est Est - if so it is very swish, enjoy! You made me a likkle bit homesick there - that part of the quayside is lovely when all lit up at night. What a sweet compliment from the guy at work too!

i went back to work today to a mountain of emails, i have booked a docs appointment tomorrow to see if they can give me any antibiotics for this cough, also i had to get off the tram this morning as i felt like i was going to pass out. I hate feeling ruff!

OP posts:
FlirtyThirty · 11/12/2008 14:31

Hi ladies...just a quick pop by to sprinkle a little festive baby dust on this thread...it proved lucky for me, so hoping it will spread!
Unbelievably, I am 21 weeks now - I still honestly can't believe my luck! Have had latest scan and baby's doing just fine; now I just have to hold out til the spring to meet him or her...I never thought that day would come, it makes me quite emotional just thinking about it.

Anyway...hope that those fo you hoping for good news over Christmas, have your wishes granted!

Love Flirty x

Vix67 · 11/12/2008 14:41

Aaw thanks Flirty that was a nice message!!

Hello everybody!!

I am now on cd20 so will be going to get my bloods done tomorrow to make sure clomid is still making me ovulate. I am feeling v short tempered though today so think i am starting to get PMT!!

If i dont get a BFP this month, next month is my last on clomid. So that would take me to mid jan, I have an appointment at the hosp on 3rd feb to see where i go from there. I'm feeling bit dis heartened just found out someone else I know is PG and i am genuinely happy for her just sad for myself!!

I am looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend though hopefully that will chill me out!!

xx

DawnAS · 11/12/2008 14:58

Hello Ladies,

Hope you're all doing Ok. I put a really long post on here on Wednesday night and then our broadband went down. Something to do with some Vandalism at Reading. We're still not back on so I've had to reconnect by BT Business Broadband - we'd disconnected it all and packed the router up and everything. So we had to unpack loads of boxes. It hasn't happened in three years, but the way things were going, it was bound to happen when everything was packed away... Oh well...

So, I can't remember what I put so I'll start again:-

Michaela and Fairy, that's amazing ladies - CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Summer, Sorry you're still suffering hun - - that's not good. Hopefully the doc will give you something to ease it or at least give you some good tips.

Saz and Flirty, glad that your babies are both coming along so well. Spring's not that far away Flirty, lucky you!!

Vix and Bubbap, how are the 2ww coming along? Are you coping Ok? Any symptoms you want to divulge - however outrageous they may be?!

Crunchy, how are you hun? Are you still in pain or are things settling down now? Thanks for your kind message hun.

Big hellos and hugs to everyone else!!

So, nothing much to report here. Made an appointment for the MW to come around tomorrow just so she can listen to the baby's heartbeat. I just want to make sure that everything's Ok after the CVS. I haven't had any problems and no bleeding so I'm assuming that things are Ok, but I'd rather know than wait for the Amnio and then there be something wrong.

Still no movement on the house. The Vendors are waiting for their second mortgage offer and when that comes through, we can exchange. Hoping to complete next Friday latest. But I'm still not convinced it's going to happen, so it'll be a very sad Xmas in our house. No decs and surrounded by boxes.... Also all the presents that we've bought people are packed...

Oh well, I'm sure I've got lots to be grateful for so I'm going to stop whinging now!!

I'm wishing for lots of BFPs for you ladies for Xmas. I hope you've sent your list to Santa!!

Big hugs and kisses to you all!!

xxx

makingafamily · 11/12/2008 19:26

Hi ladies

I've been lurking around but not posting much but am feeling a little more positive now so thought i'd have a good catch up with you all (and write an essay lol)

Bubba thank you for your message, its odd not TTC'ing but i'm feeling much better after the news we have had today?!??!??! I have everything crossed for you on your 2WW

Fairy and Michaela WOW WOW WOW thats brillaint and another two BFP's on this thread. I really think this is probably the best mumsnet ttc thread ever lol

Summer How you feeling? Hope your feeling better ((((hug))))

Vix any advice about clomid will be really appreciated. And everything croosed for you during your 2ww. That short temper could be pg hormones?

Saz everything sounds fab

Flirty WOW over half way there???

Crunchy Hope everythings settled down a bit

Dawn Sorry for everything your going through but stay positive hun and moving is always a f**king nightmare but it will happen and when in 2009, you DP and your gorgeous baby are all moved into you new home all this will be a distant memory

Quick update from me! We have had a great day

We had our first appointment at the Homerton today. We saw the consultant, my dp had blood tests done, i booked in for a HSG, and we booked in to see the counsellor in Jan and the Nurse and 2nd Consultant appointment in March so i guess if all goes well we should start treatment in April ;D

We have chosen our donor and i'm speaking to the Embriologist tomorrow to sort out getting the swimmers shipped from the European Sperm Bank ;D

We were told that as we are using donor sperm that we won't get funding. I said i had spoken to City and Hackney PCT and they have emailed me their funding criteria and don't seem to know anything about this and the consultant advised me to look into things more and get them a letter from the PCT and if i do then he said they will happily fund. Also he said that that criteria might be changing ;D ;D I'm willing to fight it but even if we self fund then its DIUI here we come

So i'm not an official TTC'er til April so me and DP are gonna an amazing boozey selfish Xmas just the two of us and get ourselves ready in Jan for treatment

D xx

Hi MAF nice to hear from ya!! I have updated me on the list!!

I was given clomid as i wasn't ovulating properly, i started on 50mg and it worked i have ovulated every month so far.... now just not so patiently waiting for a BFP

Have they done your blood tests for your progesterone levels, its usually taken on d21 of your cycle?!

dawn sorry to hear your stressed about your move, just think of how perfect next christmas will be!!

BIG waves to everyone xxxx

loobylou26 · 11/12/2008 20:37

I am on 150mg of clomid now, I did 1 month 50mg-no ovulation 2 months of 100mg-no ovulation and have just taken my last dose of 150mg clomid for this month. I have diabetes type 2 and PCOS so have also been taking metformin for a year. I do have had side effects from the clomid - stomach pains - crying...a lot! and generally being a total bitch to anyone who speaks to me. I have decided that if this doesnt work im going to have gastric banding surgery as after 8 years of dieting and getting nowhere, my body obviously refuses to get pg at my current weight....anyone else had gastric banding??

summerbird · 12/12/2008 09:21

Hi everyone

loobylou hi there, sorry you are feeling down, i think the best thing for you is to go and have a good chat with one of your GPs (the nicest one!!) i havent had gastric banding but do kind of tenuously work in the medical profession - all i will say is be careful and get lots of good advice before fully considering it. I know you said you have dieted but i can highly recommend Slimming World - you can eat as much as you like (of the right stuff) but it is great for winter - lots of comfort foods like potatoes rice and pasta - def worth a try if you havent had a go. Good luck whatever you decide - we are all here to support you.

MAF wooo hoooooooooooooo! What a fab day you have had, that is very positive news, I have said it before but you are going to have a likkle one popping out singing Eurovision with onions round its neck smoking a legal spliff!!! [hgrin]

dawn the house will happen, things happen for a reason at the right time, i agree with MAF that 2009 is gonna be a good year for you

Good to see you flirty doesnt time fly? I am on 15 weeks now and it all feels a little surreal. Keep in touch lady as spring will be here before we all know it.

Big waves to fairy michaela vix bubba saz and all you lovely ladies!

Oo and i am feeling a little better today, still coughing but getting there

Sorry, I've been doing more lurking than posting lately - am really, honestly thrilled for everyone else's BFPs, but this spectacularly lucky thread has turned into an internet extension of Real Life where everyone else is happily making babies... except me & DH! Which sounds really churlish and whiney, I know, and I guess someone has to be the per cent who doesn't get pregnant each month, but having followed this thread from the very start, I sometimes feel like I'll still be on the First Time Frolickers list while everyone else is choosing names.

But I didn't want to rain on the parade, just explain why I'd gone a bit quiet of late. I really am v happy for everyone but I might just take a break from the whole MN thing. It's been nearly a year now, and I'm coming up to 35 so I guess that's going to open up a whole new kettle of discussions in the New Year.

Still, looking on the bright side, more champagne and prawn cocktail for me this Christmas!
