saz007 · 24/10/2008 10:09

Hi all,

Sorry haven't been on for a while but things have been mental at work!

Dawn as the others have said try not to worry too much, I know that won't be easy tho. Could you not ask for a second opinion at your docs?

Not real news from my end, apart from the tiredness seems to be lifting slightly - I'm grateful for small mercies!!!

Hello to everyone else and I hope you're all doing ok and enjoying their Friday's. Is anyone due to test this weekend?

wishinanhopin · 24/10/2008 19:56

MichaelaS · 25/10/2008 01:07

hello all! been a while since I've been on here as work's been nasty.

Just to update you all, and ask your opinion... this month we're on CD5 and I'm currently on CD27 of a usual 30 day cycle. This month I think we hit ovulation pretty close (although I'm not temping etc so don't know for sure).

So, for the last week or so I've had a strange feeling near my uterus - like mild period pains or kind of like the nagging pain when you have a bladder infection (cystitis) if you've ever had one.

So, I'm thinking it could be implantation stuff, or increasing progesterone making my uterus contract. I was convinced my breasts were a little bit tender, and that i was feeling nauseous. I've also been feeling v tired but i've had a cold all week so it could be that.

Anyway, I finally gave in this morning and tested - BFN. Now i'm really not sure if i've been imagining it or if I just tested to early. Maybe the stomach feelings are more digestion related like maybe a hernia.

What do you think? Obviously i need to wait a few days and test again, but I just can't stand the not knowing!! when do you think i should test again? anyone PG noticed similar feelings in the first few weeks?

hope you're all well, and i'll be trying to read this a bit more frequently now...

makingafamily · 26/10/2008 01:51

.

summerbird · 26/10/2008 21:07

to be honest michaela i didnt feel any symptoms until a few days after my missed AF. i think on CD27 you are testing a little early, i am a religious 28 day cycle and even on CD29 i got a really faint line. I would give it a couple of days then if you have one do the clear blue digital test - that was conclusive for me. Oh and GOOD LUCK!

MAF did you delete your message matey??

OP posts:
makingafamily · 27/10/2008 10:08

Ha ha ha! Not sure what happened there! Spent all last week waiting to ov it still hadn't happened saturday so thought sod it and went out and drank buckets of wine, got in and put the laptop on and fell asleep with on my lap so gonna assume thats where my . Message came from lol Anyway got up sunday and had a fantastic peak on an opk. I want to frame it but the misses says no! Lol So we started insem's yesterday. Woo hoo

Will have a proper catch up with all your baby news later as am on my phone at the mo

Hope your all doin well and here's too another month of lovely BFP's and sticky beans x.x

summerbird · 27/10/2008 11:53

oo MAF how exciting - maybe the vino brought on the positive OPK - maybe that is a secret tip?? good luck mate i have everything crossed for you.

Did i ever tell you guys that there was one night of BDing when Dexter the cat just sat there on the bed staring at us? He wouldnt shift at all. We are now convinced that was the conception night therefore if anyone wants to borrow Dexter for the evening then give me a shout - i can highly recommend him - to freak you out if nothing else!!!!

OOO am loving the halloweenies

OP posts:
MichaelaS · 27/10/2008 12:31

CD30 today and still no sign of AF. Am really getting my hopes up now, definitely something going on with the (.)(.) and am really tired even though i've got rid of my cold now.

x fingers crossed.

Will let you all know!

Good luck makingafamily, hope the insems go well this time!

wishinanhopin · 27/10/2008 13:47

Summer I am laughing my a** off at your Dexter the cat story.
We have 2 siamese cats Lulu and Bobo, and every once in a while we'll be getting into it and we'll look over and see one of the little creepers staring at us. They are sooo sneaky, and it's too funny. So the other night we ignored them both, even though it was like having an audience. So maybe cats are good luck luck charms. he's hoping. I was supposed to ovulate around the 25th.
Babydust to all!
xoxoxoxox

summerbird · 27/10/2008 14:48

thats it wishin you have done it now! if you get a BFP this month i am sending all you girls out to buy a cat!!!

OP posts:
DawnoftheDead · 27/10/2008 16:48

Hey all,

How are we doing on this "nearly the end of" lovely Monday!!

Oooh, you girls talking about your cats. That's one thing that I really don't like, having the animals in the bedroom, they have to be out with the door shut. My friend BDs with her two Cavalier King Charles's in the room. I can't be doing with that... I cringe just thinking about it!!

MichaelaS, I've got everything crossed for you hun!! Sounds really promising - !!

MAF, I did laugh when I saw your message, I wondered what had happened, especially when you didn't come on and retype it!! Good luck for this month hun, I really think this could be your month!!

Summer, how you doing hun? Replied to your mail by the way... sorry it was late...

So, after the crappy appointment with the GP, I called the Midwife who was sooooo lovely!! I started with "my symptoms don't seem that strong anymore", at which point she started asking me questions about the symptoms I do have and told me that it all sounded normal and not to worry. Then on Saturday afternoon (while I was asleep on the sofa - ), she turned up to give me all the books to read and stuff. She looked very hippy-like with long grey hair in a plait and I liked her straight away.

So, she's going to pop over and see me next week and go through all the notes and stuff and apparently I need to phone and book my first scan so I'll be doing that later this week.

I'm still a little bit nervous, but then when I read other people's posts on other threads about not having any symptoms at all but they're already into their second trimester, it makes me feel different. I still have sore (.)(.), constipation and the occasional queasy feeling when I'm hungry, aswell as having to wee at least twice during the night, so I'm not tooooooo worried... ...

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!! Loads of babydust coming around - although it will turn into fairydust by the end of the week to be inkeeping with the festivities!!

**

summerbird · 27/10/2008 17:37

dawn i want your hippy midwife - she sounds so cool!!

i am the opposite to you on the animal front, i cant bear to lock my cats out of the bedroom as they are soooooo cute. Boris snuggles at my feet and Dexter - well he is a bit annoying as he has taken to sleeping on my belly....

right who is next to test then? i have been out of the loop with my gallivanting.

OP posts:
makingafamily · 27/10/2008 20:12

Hello to all

Dawn thats great you've got a midwife you like

Summer i'm with Dawn on the animals in the bedroom front and we have the bedroom door permenantly shut. A few probs with Norman scratching the carpet occasionally but considering they spent 12 years sleeping on DP's bed they are doing well.

Michaela everything crossed for you. It does sound promising

I get to this point every month and wish i'd started temping

Well thats official i am now starting my 3rd 2WW

Yoghurt pots and baby dust for all

(Oh summer i'm not sure how to tell you this but we dont actually use a yoghurt pot lol)

summerbird · 28/10/2008 12:18

MAF that is sooooo disappointing! i still get that yoghurt pot giggle when i see one tho!!

Oh girls can I hide on here?? I mentioned over in the preg thread that I was thinking about trying to express breastmilk rather than BF in Public or at night and now I think they all think I am evil!!!

MichaelaS · 28/10/2008 12:51

yes yes, come back to us and hide!

surely it would be much better to express milk to feed the baby rather than bottle feed? Why doe it matter how you get milk into the baby? (maybe i'm being thick here but so long as the baby has the milk it needs and someone who loves it doing the feeding, not sure why it would make a difference whether it is breastmilk from a breast or from a bottle?)

welcome!

wishinanhopin · 28/10/2008 13:01

Hi Ladies
hever you are too funny. I have so many girlfriends that have babies, and the ones that breastfeed we call them the boob Nazi's. It's their way or the highway.
I totally understand. But I also have friends who have chosen not to breastfeed at all and thats their choice. I really don't believe in judging anyone over their decisions.....every woman and every baby is totally different! You're safe here love!
Well DH and I have been bding like crazy. not sure exactly when I'm Ov-ing. but I'm on clomid, and used the clomid calculator which says I should ov around the 25th of October.
Here's hoping. My cats were watching......so if Dawn and Dexter are onto something this just might be my month hahaha!!!!!

heverhoney1 · 28/10/2008 13:22

TBH the more they moan the more I think Formula feeding is the way forward!!

I have had enough throat infections, ear infections and stuff that I think bub could benifit from my ramped up immune system if BF but sorry Just not willing to get my HUGE bazookas out in public andI am not risking falling asleep while doing it either!!

summerbird · 28/10/2008 21:20

wishin it was me with Dexter - Dawn was the one who wasnt having any of the animal action - but hey honey if it worked for me then i am holding out for you girl!!

hever you do what you feel happiest doing, i also intend to express milk to feed in public, but then again some people dont take to breast feeding at all and get mastitis, you do what is right for you - and you hide on here with us - i am doing that too!!

masses of babydust for all - and huge hugs for those n the dreaded 2WW
*

come on then - who is next to test?

OP posts:
makingafamily · 28/10/2008 23:11

I've decided not to test this month and if in 9 months i have a baby then i'll know i was!!

Its bloody snowing here

Hever happy to have you hiding here with us. I think we are lovely on this thread and ive seen a few scary attacks from the perfect parents brigade so wont be going anywhere whether ttc'ing or pg

DawnoftheDead · 29/10/2008 08:26

Hey girls,

Hever, I think I may stay here aswell then!! Not having "real" (.)(.), I may not be able to breastfeed full stop as I have no sensation in them so won't know whether the baby is getting any or not. So I will surely be shot down in flames!! Also, neither of my sisters could breastfeed easily. They both managed it for the first two weeks to give the babies the immunity they needed, but after that switched to bottle. I always think that it's worse for baby if you get stressed and upset trying to do what is expected, than if you just go with what your own body tells you!!

Whinge over!!

So guys, our Halloween party is on Friday. What's everyone dressing up as and everyone has to bring something along!! I'm bringing green slime jelly!! And I'm dressing as a zombie (actually I probably don't need to dress up for that right now...).

wishinanhopin · 29/10/2008 12:55

Hey girls
Sorry Summer. I knew it was you with Dexter, no clue why I wrote Dawn. Brain wasn't turned on yesterday. I have a friend I was telling about the cat audience and she was in agreement with Dawn, very creeped out. She said she doesn't even like changing in front of her dog LOL.
I won't be testing for about 2 weeks. I'm on clomid and the hot flashes are driving me CRAZY. I wake up like clockwork at about 3 am every night sweating like crazy. But it's a small price to pay.
Babydust to all
xoxoxo

summerbird · 29/10/2008 13:06

dawn i shall be gothed up to the eyeballs at our party, i plan to dye my hair deep red, and wear my pussy cat outfit.

i will bring a bowl of punch heavily laced with vodka - as you see in the virtual world i can drink as much as i like - oh and can i have smoked salmon and brie too please!!
