Heebeejeebee · 12/09/2008 20:11

Hey all

Sorry I've not been around much - I got AF just before interring my dad's ashes and got fed up pretty much with everything, but I had my appointment with my consultant, which went well. She said as I'd got pregnant, the risks of infection from an hsg outweighed the gain from having one and as I'd only been ttc for 6 months (as I opened my mouth to protest, she said they reset the clock after a bfp, so the year it took to get the bfp, doesn't count) she shouldn't really do anything. HOWEVER, she said the next step was clomid, and that it was up to me. Thought that the clomid might give DH and I a bit of hope, so we took it with both hands. Now just in my 2ww before AF due on Mon to see if I need to take it at all.

Cal - I'm so sorry - I know how awful it is.

Ses (and all the other bfps in my absence) congratulations!!

calsworld · 12/09/2008 22:42

Hi HBJB, chin up duck! We're not like that and you know it! Lucky you with your consultant being so lovely - we've not had any clomid takers in the wagon so looking forward to hearing your 'story', if you're happy to share

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/09/2008 08:32

Morning

Glask, hope the meds are making things more bareable now? And hope your meal out is as lovely as it sounds

Welcome back Heebee Fingers crossed Monday will be a no show and you won't need the clomid, but if you do, I have read many many stories on here about it working a treat On my old TTC thread (with DS2) there were a couple of girls who were on it, and it certainly worked for them!

Cal, mattress sounds devine darhling! We need a new one, has been on the list to get for a couple of years! DH actually mentioned getting it sorted a couple of weeks ago but once again haven't got round to actually doing it...

LB, MIL's can be a PITA at times, I guess you have to tell yourself that DH wouldn't be here without her (and when that doesn't cut it, DD and the new baby wouldn't be here without DH )

DH is working this morning but once he is home we are off to order the carpet for the boy's room, oh the excitement I can hardly contain myself..... What is exciting though, next weekend we will be getting the boys room sorted out and DS2 moved in there, which means I can then get properly stuck into buying the babies things Barn Yard, Zanzibar, Barn Yard, Zanzibar?????? Will probably order the furniture this week because that will take a while to arrive. And then I can focus on the buggy! I smile at the thought of it now, but I know once I get started on the buggy there will be tantrums and mucho stamping feet before I decide which one! The one I really really really want isn't available in the UK, and isn't going to be for a while (i.e. the week after I give birth no doubt!) we could get it shipped from the states (and because of the £ difference at the moment would still be cheeper) but I'm not sure I can put up with the hassle, and then what if there is something wrong with it? etc etc etc.... I've not even started on the buggy properly and already have filled the thread.....

Oh and then we have the very unimportant task of FINDING A SODDING NAME FOR THIS CHILD! Grrrrr!!!

tinkhasanactivebean · 13/09/2008 09:24

morning

enjoying some sun here

i am off int otown in a min and then mothercare

Diege · 13/09/2008 11:18

Morning . Enjoy you day TINKS - sun has just disappeared here, but fingers crossed it holds for you . LB - agree, MIL are in general another species (with the odd excpetion). My gut instinct for you would be to say supervise visits, but then you've got to be realistic, and that could be even more stressful. She sounds a total nightmare to be honest, but there are some useful threads on this in Relationships that I'm sure will be helpful (and at least convince you that you're not alone!).
I'm at hairdressers this afternoon, for the full works - roots, full head of highlights, cut and blow which I'm looking forward to. Tomorrow (gulp) is MIL 80th, so will be going over to hers for a full day of stress love and joy. Dreading it already, but het it is her 80th ; might be a bit difficult to get out of that one...
Oh and while I remember NAT, take care with US purchases. You're be stung by customs charges which can make any 'bargain' seem prohibitively expensive. I've been stung on a few occasions! You may be lucky, but just wanted to mention it in case you didn't know

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 13/09/2008 12:15

Morning again Tink! (T'is strange being on two threads together now!) Hope shopping goes well

Diege, oh god yes, I knew about the customs thing but had completely forgotten about it in relation to the buggy, think it's because I know I can't be arsed ordering it from America so haven't really thought too deeply about it! 80 years old, quite an achievement! Enjoy the hair dressers

Still waiting for DH to get home...

tinkhasanactivebean · 13/09/2008 15:01

souds gr8 diege

hi nat

went to elc in mothercare and had a look they had the rosebud dolls house out it is gorgeous so going for that for her main present and ordering six rooms to go in it
bought her portable pink keyboard and rosies world doll to go with her others. then at least she has a couple of other bits to open later on xmas day

Diege · 13/09/2008 15:33

Well I said the Rosebud Tink . Sounds like your dd will have a lovely xmas morning
Well back from the hairdressers and I am virtualoly blonde . I think I like, though will take a bit of getting used to. My base colour has been getting lighter, so with full head of blonde highlights on light brown base looks a lot brighter!
Hope dh gets back in time NAT for your carpets! (He's not sneaked off to match has he? - all the med in the village are out in their shirts today as we are mid-way between the two teams. Poor dh is stuck in a childrens playbarn for another half hour

calsworld · 13/09/2008 15:34

Is anyone about??

DS has had a temperature on and off since Wednesday which I've been keeping under control using calpol / calfen. I took him to see the doctor on Friday to rule out a 'hidden' ear or throat infection as he seems to get them quite a bit but doc said he looked OK but call if he gets worse.

He ate some tea last night, tuna spread on toast and some plain pasta, but that's all he had yesterday.

His temp has been better today but I can't get him to eat anything at all - aside from a few mouthfuls of a chocolate cookie at about 10.30.

He's been drinking milk and diluted apple juice and water, but no food today...

So, do I just continue as I am, assuming he'll eat when he's ready and as long as he drinks, we'll be OK?

Just looking for reassurance, if anyone's out there to provide any?

Diege · 13/09/2008 15:34

How bad was my typing then!

Diege · 13/09/2008 15:37

Hi CALS . I would say that as long as he's keeping down fluids he should be fine. I wouldn;t worry at the moment, unless he starts bringing the drinks up. Maybe try something like jelly, even icecream? Soups etc? To be honest, I'd just stick with sugary drinks/milk/water as I'll bet by end of weekend he'll be tucking in again

Diege · 13/09/2008 15:56

Oh and meant to say af arrived as expected, so cd 1 for me . A 27 day cycle this month, so body seems to be getting back into some kind of order. Have checked the calendar too and while I'm away a bit for work, we should be in with a better chance this month

calsworld · 13/09/2008 15:59

Thanks D, that's what i thought but wanted at least one other person to agree with me!

Good news re af and timings for the month ahead

sorry brief. ds on lap and can only just reach keyboard!

Diege · 13/09/2008 16:51

No problem!

tinkhasanactivebean · 13/09/2008 17:07

sorry that ds is poorly agree as long as he is taking fluids hope he gets better soon
at least you know where you are diege good luck for next month

GruffaloSoldier · 13/09/2008 18:34

Evening everyone!

I had a lovely day at the beach today, the weather was just glorious! Put a on my face anyway! My DH even let me have a Maccy d's (v.rare occasion!)

My DH has a big unicycle race in Warwick tomorrow so he is getting ready to go to that and we are babysitting tonight too.

I am starving - to be helpful I started dinner but have had to stop cause of sickness - only got as far as beating the eggs (having spanish omelette)

Cals sorry to hear DS is still struggling - there are some nasty bugs going around at the moment. Fluids sound like the way to go. I hope he gets better soon!

Diege that is good that AF turned up. God luck for the month ahead!

Tink - rosebud was a good choice

NJ - sounds like you are well on your way for baby preparation. Very exciting. I can't wait til Im at that stage.

Right well am going to try and do the next bit of the meal before I feel wretched again.

Byeee

Diege · 13/09/2008 18:46

Hi Gruff! Sounds like your dh and my dh are kindred spirits re: cycling . Hope you get nthrough the omlette prep!
Hi TINKS!
Right, got to get dds to bed before 7.30 X-factor - I have managed to get out of the pre-MIL brithday party meal as we don't have a baby sitter (usually MIL)so dh has gone alone...phew!

wilsonmummy · 13/09/2008 19:15

Evening all!

Just thought i'd pop in and say hi! i not been writing much but have popped in every day to see how you all are!
We're moving at the end of the month and the previous owners have been kind enough to give us some keys to get stripping walls and so on!! It looks like a building site, no bath room kitchen or anything!!! Can't see me getting any bedroom action at this rate! oh well there's always next month!!

Deige... i'm also an x factor fan, watch out for Joesph Chukereree he got thru last week he's my work buddy and sooo lovely!!he's got thru to boot camp but not sure which judge he got or whether he's thru to final group!!! oh and my dh is a cycle freak too!!

wilsonmummy · 13/09/2008 19:20

Sorry Diege just noticed spelt your name wrong!

SesHasapinkline · 13/09/2008 20:47

Did everyone else watch X Factor??! Only one more week of auditions and then it's boot camp!

I've been feeling really tired all day. Still trying hard not to worry but this evening I've got a pain that comes and goes in the middle of the right side of my back and so I'm thinking up all sorts of scenarios again...

Also did yet another hpt the other evening just to make sure and to check it was still good and strong. It did come up with a thick strong line immediately so I was temporarily reassured.

Diege - sorry for AF but looks like you're all set for this cycle
Trip to hairdressers sounds good.
Hope MIL's party is better than you think it will be!

wilsonmummy - all being well, we'll be moving at the end of the month too! It's v exciting!

Cal - hope ds is starting to feel better.

Gruff - day at the beach One of my favourite things to do and you were lucky with the weather!

Hope you're all having good evenings anyway!

Diege · 13/09/2008 22:12

Evening! Hi Wilson I'll have to look out for your friend on x-factor - wow, I can say I know him now iyswim!
Good to find another cycle widow...my dh spends more time in the bloomin' garage attending to his precious bikes than he does with me but have to say he does use them for transporting the dds around - dd3 on a front child seat, dd2 on the back child seat, and dd1 on the tag along - they are quite a sight!
Hi SES - strong line sounds very reassuring. Back pain totally normal too - sounds ligament-y to me, and something I always got with dds in first trimester. Actually developed into sciatica for a while, but then settled down by 12 weeks. A sort of shooting nerve pain?
Right, up for a bath with my Lush butter bath bomb then bed. Speak tomorrow xxx
