Thanks Cal - it helps in trying to persuade me that it's my hormones and that the logical side of me needs to try and get some strength to override my emotions.

SesHasapinkline · 04/09/2008 19:44

DH has just come home. He's agreed we can get take away this evening as I'm feeling too shattered to do anything else.
His suggestion (in jest) was to give him sexual favours to take my mind off things! I passed....

calsworld · 04/09/2008 19:45

I think what you've said makes absolute sense and you're not rambling at all...just talking out the thoughts in your head.

I can totally understand your fears but think that the plans you have made are appropriate given your problem with your thyroid and previous history.

IMO, I do think its worth pushing for an early scan, even if they can't see a heartbeat, they can still check that everything looks like its an order and appropriate for the stage you're at, can't they. I know a scan is scary for but its because it tells the truth and I think that's what you need.

Pains are normal, as are the tears, and in your case so are the fears. Take it easy tonight, drink lots and lots of fluids coz you'll need to replace what you've lost crying as well it being good for you anyway.

Wish I was better at sympathy but I'm kind of known for being a bit naff....my friends take the piss because of it - my words may not be eloquent but know that I don't think you're being irrational or stupid and would give you a hug if I could.

calsworld · 04/09/2008 19:47

Lol at your DH - sounds about as desperate as mine to squeeze in a plea for favours

Not wanting to be a scaremonger and quite happy to be told not to be so daft, but be careful with takeaways - make sure its piping hot won't you? I got a right bollocking off my MW after letting on I'd had one.

GYo · 04/09/2008 19:49

Hi Ses
Sorry to hear you were feeling a bit blue... reckon is completely normal to be worried with your m/cs previously....

Getting under some kind of medical care, either GP for the thyroid or Midwife might make you feel less alone...

Hope DH comes home soon and wraps you up in his arms and looks after you. x

Cal- exciting about your DS going up a class- hope that helps.. sounds like you've got a bright LO there

Gruff- how did it go telling the family about being PG...

Diege- sore fanjo?? I need to re-read this afternoons posts...

Work inconsiderately meant I had to attend meetings rather than reading MN working quietly at my desk.....

Hi glask, Dal and anyone else...

OP posts:
GYo · 04/09/2008 19:50

oooh and Ses, great about getting positive comments at work... always a good thing

OP posts:
GYo · 04/09/2008 19:51

Cal- I didnt know that about takeaways..

Is it same risk as undercooked meat etc?

Certainly not read about that!

SesHasapinkline · 04/09/2008 19:52

Don't worry Cal - you've helped.
I'm no good at sympathy either in RL - I tend to get v frustrated with people who don't help themselves,
eg: "I've got a headache and I feel awful."
Ses - have you taken any painkillers?
"No, I don't want to. Oh, I feel so awful"
Ses sympathy goes out the window at this point!
I'm worst with my mum who always seems a huge drama queen to me. The other month she phoned me on a Sunday afternoon saying she had a bad chest infection (to be fair she sounded like she did) but asked me to take her up to A&E as she felt so bad and took her nightie and wash bag with her "in case"! Needless to say they referred her to the walk in centre and sent her home with antibiotics!
There you go, a topic that will always distract me - my mother!

SesHasapinkline · 04/09/2008 19:54

Hi GYo!

Cal - thanks, will be careful. Didn't realise it was a bit of a no no

calsworld · 04/09/2008 19:58

Evening GYo - I'm not sure about bright he's only 20 months old - although she did say he was good at pairing animals . His favourite words are currently 'no' and 'oh no', the latter said very dramatically like there's been a big disaster - normally when he's dropped something or broken something . I like him to have fun though and think going up to the bigger class where he can have more independence will be good for him.

Your work is inconsiderate. I missed you today!

calsworld · 04/09/2008 20:05

LOL Ses - I think you're the same as me! I'm def. in the 'stop moaning' camp when it comes to headaches and the like... it bites me on the bum sometimes though , like when I'd got BFP but too early to tell anyone, moaning about a headache but not wanting to take anything for it!

Re takeaways, I'm not actually sure what the official advice is - just make sure you're not eating stuff that might not be cooked or might have been kept in one of those open air fridges (like coleslaw etc). I'm sure I was told to avoid deli counters too....

GYo - do you know anything about this?

SesHasapinkline · 04/09/2008 20:10

SesHasapinkline · 04/09/2008 20:14
