Hi guys, new thread for us to carry on!

{{{{{{DAWN}}}}}}} Summer is right though.

Just to let you know I am still here lurking away. I find it quite difficult posting from my phone and acessing MN at work is a little dodgy as no body knows about the bub yet. But I am still here looking out for you ladies!!

My doc is stupid and doesnt understand that I am NOT 8 weeks gone as I didnt ov till day 29!!! I am only 6+4 but she wouldnt listed - infact didnt even want to hear it. I swear if I had caught first time after not having a cycle for 18 months she would have put me down as 80 months gone!!!

DawnAS · 11/09/2008 07:45

Hey ladies,

Thanks so much for your support. I think it's hit me more overnight to be honest, but not about me, more my boss. I only saw him face-to-face twice as we work remotely, but he was such a great guy who only got over cancer last year. He's got two kids that he's trying to put through Uni and his wife doesn't work. He's been with the company 37 years.

Anyway, Hever, just a word of advice (about your stupid Doc...), because I'm on a 35 day cycle, my Mum told me to make sure they understood that. The main reason being that when you start going for scans etc, they'll keep going on about the baby being too small and stuff and thinking there's something wrong. So I suggest that when you see the MW, you put her/him (don't know any male midwives but you never know...) right. Mum was quite worried about that with me because she had very long cycles aswell (sometimes 6 or 7 weeks) and they made her first pregnancy hell by worrying all the time.

Thanks again ladies! In the absence of wine last night, I had a Watermelon Bacardi Breezer!! . Didn't numb the worry though, just gave me a headache!!

summerbird · 11/09/2008 08:49

gosh dawn i feel so sorry for your boss, that is a terrible way to treat any employee never mind one who has given them such long service. i truly hope that this will happen for a reason for him and he gets something bigger and better.

i am on CD15 and still no OV pains which is odd for me as i am usually OVing on circa CD12. Am not concerned yet though.

Off on yet another training course today so see you guys later

saz007 · 11/09/2008 09:07

OMG Dawn what a shocking way for your boss to be treated I just don't know what else to say, I'm speechless

And truly sorry about the BFN Hopefully the bacardi breezer helped a little?

How's everyone doing today? One day closer to the weekend

Linwin · 11/09/2008 09:37

Hi everyone.

Dawn I know how you worried you must be right now, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm in the same boat. Its worrying times for a lot of people I think. I make about twice as much as DH and we just bought our first flat last year right at the top of the market so we're worried sick. All my friends are the same. But, as everyone has said already sometimes its can turn out to be an opportunity and as my mum says, they can't take your hands off you...whatever that means!
All I know is that I'm not going to give up TTC because of I'm scared of whats going on in the market place - if anything it makes family and health even more important.

Hi to everyone else. Went to see that movie The Duchess last night - my god that girl can pout!

Have a good day

saz007 · 11/09/2008 10:29

A voluntary redundancy exerise is underway (again) in my company at the minute. We've just been acquired by a major player in our field, so it's a bit uncertain over here.

Linwin is the movie good? I'm torn between going to see it or just waiting for the dvd release

AF is still a no show. It was funny yesterday but my tummy felt like I'd been on loads of rollercoasters, not feeling sick as such, just a bit flip-floppy if that makes any sense!!!! Also, my mouth wouldnt stop watering - most peculiar

Vix67 · 11/09/2008 11:45

Morning Ladies,

Hope you're all well!!

Dawn I am so sorry for your boss, our company has just made 10 people redundant yesterday. some of the men are in a similar position as your boss, long service, family to look after, etc.. I really hope that this has happened for a reason and it may change his life for the better!! Try not to worry too much, easy enough said I know!!

Bumps Welcome to our lovely thread!! Mettalic taste is a def sign of being PG, so will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Fairywing so sorry about your AF but great that your feeling positive ... pass some onto me will you?!

BSL hope that your DH swimmers are OK, fingers crossed for next week.

Summerbird have you filled in your application form yet??

Bubbap welcome back from your hols, great news that your little bean is coming on well!!

Big HELLO to everyone else!!

I am feeling a bit down today, think the fertility tablets I am taking are making my hormones all over the place. I have just found out that one of my friends is PG, and she is having a termination. She hasnt got a great track record with men and tends to sleep around quite alot, and she has fell pregnant!! I just feel that itis so unfair at the moment how can people just fall pg so easily and then just get rid of it and then there are all of us who are desperate for a baby and its not so easy!!

Sorry for the rant!! My DP is away too until Friday and think we should have been BDing Tues / Wed this week and we havent been able to!!

Anyway sorry for the moan and hope i havent depressed you all!!

On a brighter note it's Friday tomorrow woo hoo!! xx

Vix67 · 11/09/2008 11:47

p.s. think that might have been one of the longest posts ever ha ha

DawnAS · 11/09/2008 12:00

Hello All,

Again, thanks for all your support.

So, had a chat with the big boss this morning and my colleague and I have been asked to step up and take over our Manager's workload - so I guess it's sort of a promotion, but without the money!! I'm just grateful that I've still got a job - for now...

Saz, we've just been bought by a major player in our field too, maybe we work for the same company... If it's anything to do with being an IT services provider, maybe it is the same place...

Vix, you are in the right place to moan about that. I can't believe how 14 and 15 year olds get pregnant the first time they have sex - how is that fair?!! But hang on in there girl - the wait will make your baby all the more loved....

Summer, I received the book this morning, thanks hun. With everything that happened yesterday, I didn't get time to get out, but it is packaged up ready to go. Will be sending DH out with it later!!

Hope all Beans are Ok and that everyone is looking forward to Friday, I know I am. We're also doing a second viewing on the house on Saturday and taking my Mum and Dad to have a look too!!

Bumpsadaisie · 11/09/2008 12:21

Dawn

Hello - we've not "met" as I'm a newbie ...

But just a thought - I don't know any details of the case of course, but there are laws to protect people from being made redundant without any notice (i.e. protection against unfair dismissal). See this wikipedia article. There are also laws to ensure continuity of employment where one business buys another business - see this wikipedia article.

Is your boss sure he hasn't any redress of this sort? The local ACAS, CAB or free legal advice service should be able to advise.

Best wishes
Bumps x

wishinanhopin · 11/09/2008 12:36

Hi Girls
I'm new here. DH and I TTC for 2 1/2 years. Finished my first ever 5 days of clomid. DH and did all we could in the baby making department, and now the waiting game begins. I'm sure it's rare to conceive on the first round, but I can't help but be hopeful.
Love to see a place where woman can connect in this way. It's lovely.

P.S One of my girlfriends just announced last night she's 13 weeks along. My heart leapt with excitiment and sunk with disappointment all at the same time.

saz007 · 11/09/2008 12:44

Hi Dawn I do indeed work for an IT service provider....OMG!!!!

Welcome wishin it's a lovely thread. I do believe that this has become more than just a TTC thread tho.

Now just need to get my ever so talkative colleague off the phone as I need it for a teleconference. I thought it was women that were supposed to be the big talkers!!!!

bluestarlavender · 11/09/2008 15:01

Hi everyone!! And welcome to our newbies!

Just wanted to pop on and post to say...I am finally OVing this month!! YAY!! Got a positive on an OPK stick at about 2pm today. This feels like such a long cycle for me! I think the travelling did it.

Anyhow off to go on a t-con, back later with a better catch up!

Hey ladies and welcome to the newbies.

{{{{{{Dawn}}}}}} Easy as it is for me to say, try not to stress and just see what happens

BSL go get BD'ing girl

Saz when you testing

DawnAS · 11/09/2008 19:53

Hey All,

Bumps, thanks for the info, but unfortunately the company I work for has worked out exactly what they can do to stay on the right side of the law, although it does feel immoral... .. Welcome to you though!! I started the original First Time TTCing thread what seems like ages ago now. It's so lovely on here!!

Saz, spooky... If the UK head office of the company you work for is in Uxbridge or Berkley Square, London (although I think that office might have moved to Canary Wharf), I think we're in the same one... Wouldn't that be weird!!

BSL, I hope you're not still on here - you should be BDing!!!

Hey Wishin and welcome to you aswell! Good luck with your first month TTC. My sister has two gorgeous children and used Clomid both times!

Vix, thanks for your post - it was mammoth but a good read!! Redundancy is so difficult and you know that in the present climate, finding a comparable role is soooo difficult.

Linwin, sorry that you're suffering too in the same way that I am. We are carrying on with looking at the house again on Saturday and will probably put an offer in next week. I guess if I hold off because of this, I could be holding off forever and lose the house. I don't know what the future holds so I might aswell go for it I guess!

Summer, the book is in the post, it's gone first class so hopefully it will be with you tomorrow or Saturday. Yours got here safe and sound - thank you!!

Hever, thanks for your thoughts hun. I hope your little bean is Ok!!

Crunchy, where are you hun, haven't seen you on here for a while - or have I missed you?!

And where's Flirty gone?

MAF how are things with you, you're in the 2ww now aren't you? [smile}

I think I'm coming up to OV time, although I'm not sure but all the signs are there. Sort of EWCM and I've been temping and my temp jumped up from 36.3 to 36.5 and has stayed there now for the last 3 days, really odd considering I'm only on CD9 and normally have a 35 day cycle!! Of course I don't really know what all the temping means....

Hope everyone else is Ok!!

Vix67 · 11/09/2008 20:18

Hi Everyone,

Welcome wishin i am on clomid too, on my second month this month!! What cycle day are you on??

xx

summerbird · 11/09/2008 21:21

HI everyone, just wanted to jump on to see how everyone is tonight,

Dawn i shall look out for the book tomorrow/saturday i know the last couple of days have been pretty crap, so hope you are feeling a little better this evening. It would be funny/weird if you and saz worked for the same company!

welcome wishin it is always lovely to meet new people

vix you are right to have good moan about your friend (much as i am sure you love her but.....) it me so much when i hear of that happening, the injustice of those who dont want to get pregnant and just need to look at some baby juice to get there grrrrr

big waves to everyone else, i am off to try to create lickle summerbirds as my DH is up for the preseed tonight

makingafamily · 11/09/2008 21:57

Evening ladies

Firstly i want to say that i think this thread is amazing and it has turned into so much more than that. You guys know more about where i am than my friends and family in real life. If i read back over the days before my CP and see your posts and toasts it still makes me smile

Which is why i'm gonna post this here! Have been a bit quiet for the last few days as on tuesday i woke up with streaming eyes that i wanted to rip out!!! ended up in Moorfields and have viral conjunctiveitus so have been islolated at home for the last few days feeling a bit sorry for myself. Convinced myself sore, puffy, watering eyes where a symtom of PG turned out not lol

Anyway tonight, DP is on lates so made myself dinner and had a small glass of vino (yes bad ttc'er again) fell asleep on the sofa and when i woke up went for a wee and ended up doing an Early Response (i actually have a very cute Ikea tin full of HPT and OPK's next to the loo!!!!) and i have the faintest of fainest seconds line, actually its only on one side of the test, and its SOOOOO faint i've thought about calling a friend round for a second opinion lol. So not sure what to think, i'm only 7 dpo but only have 10 day LP !!!

Havent spoke to DP or the boys. Just hating myself for early testing

Thank you for listening (reading!!)

D x

makingafamily · 11/09/2008 22:38

Ok, just done another early response and nothing! So gonna take that as a very false positive and test again on sunday

wishinanhopin · 11/09/2008 22:42

Hey all
Just to give everyone a bit more background. I've been trying for 2 1/2 years. After I went off BC I had no period at all. So after months I was prescribed provera to see if that would get my cycle going. So after that I did have a period, but it very minimal. And after that small (tiny, barely there period ) nada. No AF for months. So I was sent for an ultrasound, and it came back fine. Nothing irregular,a few cysts but nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing that would explain my lack of menstration. So by this point I was beginning to get frustrated. DH and I were trying and trying, but it's impossible when you have no periods, and very frustrating. So finally she decided to put me on clomid. SO she was pretty vague about the whole thing, basically saying...."well you can start taking it whenever you want, I would tell you to wait for day 3 of your cycle but since you don't have a cycle, just start taking it, and if all goes well you should ovulate 5-9 days after the 5th pill." So I took the pills, and DH and I got to work on the baby making end. Now I wait. I feel kind of alone and confused, and don't really have any support, and kinda feel like my doctor could care less, but gave me clomid to shut me up.
Sorry for rambling, but i know all you ladies hear me all too well.

heverhoney1 · 11/09/2008 22:52

MAF I just wanted to say - chin up honey. It could be a dodgy test or it could just be so so early that there is only a tiny bit of hormone in your system. I did 2 FR tests 1 night which both showed faint lines then next morning with FMU nada!!! Here I am a fully proficient frolicker of nearly 7 weeks (and it still hasnt sunk in!!!!) Early testing is evil and confusing. It really is more grief than it is a help, so step away from the test!!! Give it another few days (4 or 5 if you can hold out) and if no AF (fingers crossed) try again.

I feel the same as you all about this thread. Most of my family, and none of my friends, know about TTC let alone bumpy. You guys know all about my CM for GAWD SAKE!! I love ya all!!!

bluestarlavender · 11/09/2008 22:52

Quick pop on to say...MAF - great news about the faintest of lines!!!! Yay!! Fingers crossed for stengthening BFPs in the coming days!!!

Off to jump DH again!!

Woo hoo Bluestar!!! Get that jiggy going!!

Wish - I dont want to but in on your story but can I be here to give you a little bit of hope. I had no cycles at all for 18 months after coming off the pill. Then I had 1 every 3 or 4 months for a couple of years after that. I had scans and bloods done too which were fine. Then something happened, no idea what, and they kicked in again out of nowhere - To be fair I only had 1 period a month or so after the 1 previously and next cycle- bam - bump!! I hope your body kicks in ASAP!! and CLomid helps. Good luck xxxx

makingafamily · 11/09/2008 23:20

hey

Thanks hever but i don't feel PG and in all honesty i really see this as our tester month. I'll have to write more about our insems stories!!! Early tests are the work of the devil lol

BSL you better be shagging for england now girl

wishin After reading your last post i feel like an ass about worrying on our first cycle as i realise the ttc journey can be a very long one so i wish you good luck and welcome again to this thread. Its our little space where we can chat about whats going for us TTC'ers

D xx

wishinanhopin · 12/09/2008 01:28

Thanks for all the reassurance girls. I needed it today. Sometimes it can just be so discouraging. Wa wa wa LOL!!!!
So I was supposed to ovulate between the 6th and 11th of September. So according to the clomid calculator babymed.com/tools/fertility/clomid/
I was to make love from the 4th onward.
So I did, and this week I have NO engery!! and today I feel totally crampy. I super hope it's not AF coming. It wold be nice to have a period for once, but it means no baby....so it's a negative.
