thanks anyway guys I have opened a new thread seeking an answer - someone on here has to know. Ping on sticks is a national pass time on this forum lol

summerbird · 08/08/2008 10:53

saz PMSL about the pop wagon, i have just run your idea about the mixers by my colleague and we both agree our mothers prob did the same thing!!

i remember i used to go swimming on 50p
5p bus fare each way
25p to get into the baths
15p for my hot chocolate afterwards

aaaaaaaaaahhhhh how sweet!

crunchy you have a good rant love, but make him pay for it when he gets back!!

makingafamily · 08/08/2008 11:20

Morning Ladies! THere you all are

Honey i use OPK's. At the moment i've got the internet cheapies and they seem to work for me. A few people i know from another site swear by the Smiley Face digital Clear Blue ones and i also know that they have had different readings from different OPK's, so sorry not much help. As soon as next AF arrives i'm going to start using my Clear Blue fertility monitor as apparently thats really reliable My advice would be any lines on any OPK's get BD'ing

crunchynutter · 08/08/2008 11:43

hell just fit in a BD whenever possible! Can't hurt!

Do any of you ladies have never ending piles of ironing? God help me when I hvr baby clothes to do to!! LOL

I have my baby shower for SIL tomorrow though so am quite edited! I just want it to go really well and to get some note photos! She's bringing my little nephew to so I will probably be very very broody Sunday maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all...

makingafamily · 08/08/2008 11:46

crunchy i'm very lucky that my misses has a washing obsession and wont let me near a washing machine and daddy to be no.2 has an ironing obsession so that will be his department

bluestarlavender · 08/08/2008 11:56

MAF - would you recommend the Clearblue fertility monitor?? It's pretty expensive, isn't it? It's just I am really not getting on with the OPK sticks from ebay...I have no idea whether I really got positives, or if the faint lines (very faint) were negatives. I actually don't really trust the temping either. I'm convinced if I've hurl the bedcovers off in the night I'll get a low temp and if I don't, it'll be high!

Last month,we just went for lots of BDing (apart from the days we were sick), but I was spot on about OV day (the day after we were sick - no surprise no PG!). This month I am in a complete muddle with all the temping and CM analysis and OPK sticks. DH and I are just going to BD again tonight and then move to every other day til AF probably. Reason being, I have no idea if or when I OV'ed.

I am seriously wondering whether to take a leaf out of Dawn's book and forget all this stuff and just have some fun!

BSL - Haven't used the fertility monitor yet as due to start this month but will keep you posted. If cost me about £50 for the monitor and £20 for the sticks but i also think ClearBlue were offering them to people to trial, i'll have a look see if i can find a link.

I'm crap with the temp thing too so like the idea of the monitor as it predicts upto an extra 5 days a month when we can do inseminations

heverhoney1 · 08/08/2008 12:07

DP is still sore from his injury so no fertile time BDing for me v depressed. Like everyone I suppose I so so wanted it to happen quickly

saz007 · 08/08/2008 12:16

I'm going to Boots tonight to buy a PG test. Would you recommend getting a dig one or just a normal one?

crunchynutter · 08/08/2008 12:18

MAF you are a lucky lady! I have a bit of a clean obsession and my husband seems to have a cleaning phobia makes for never ending housework for me LOL.

I am trying to take dawns approach at least until periods return-I think I obsess enough without worrying about temping etc at the moment but when I know my body is working I might give it all a go. Those things do seem expensive though! Be nice to know if they work first-you ladies can do the reviews xx

heverhoney1 · 08/08/2008 12:18

never had a bfp so dont know what to advise but I am keeping everything crossed for you. We want to be the first to know - well the second I suppose you might have to let DH in on the info first lol

crunchynutter · 08/08/2008 12:22

heverhoney don't worry-if I am lucky enough to be ovulating my Dh has been away and his little swimmers have been sozzled anyway so no baby for me either this month I don't think! Just think, the longer we are waiting the more money we will have saved for beautiful baby furniture xx

heverhoney1 · 08/08/2008 12:27

and the more money I would have spent on super over obsessing amount of OV sticks!!! Grr. Am very upset really dont want DP to know that though am trying not to be too hard on him but I just think "A little sore" is nothing compared to the "Sore" I will be going through if we ever to get to the DC stage!! And he should at least try to deal with it!!!!

Sorry know I am unreasonable

bluestarlavender · 08/08/2008 12:28

Saz - Don't get the digital ones...they are less sensitive apparently. I would go for a clearblue normal one....oooh so excited for you!!

MAF - yes I think Clearblue were doing a clinical study with their monitors, the study is full now though...let us know how you get on with it!

Hever - Oh no...I wonder what caused that?? He must have pulled something down there!

Crunchy - I too am scared of the piles of baby clothes to wash and iron. My DH is great with the washing (I am rubbish), but he rarely needs to do any ironing - the joys of non-iron shirts!

I HATE ironing with a passion. I'm lucky that DH helps so much with the housework (if I'm honest he may do more than me but don't tell him I said that lol )

Crunchy and Hever hoping your DHs are ok for tonight

Thanks for the advice BSL

I've had a really wierd feeling in my tummy today, a kinda fluttery feeling. It feels like I'm a kid waiting for Christmas!!

Guys I will be sure to log back on here either way after I've tested - still holding out for Sunday morning tho so I may be the only one here!!! (and if I'm honest am expecting a BFN but you have to have hope right???)

summerbird · 08/08/2008 12:50

i would just go for the ordinary pee sticks saz everyone i know who is PG have used them, i dont know anyone who used the digi tests. Good luck - is it this weekend? Sorry i need to catch up - shall we do another revised stats list?

you ladies are very lucky! My Dh is a great cook and really enjoys it so does all the cooking but I am left with allthe housework he tidied occasionally but I don't think he even knows where the kitchen/bathroom cleaners and polish are kept! I have to constantly tell him to use my lovely washing baskets too-I'm sorry to say he just drops clothes anywhere he is slowly getting better though! I think he is tying now LOL my nagging is working! I think it's probably my own fault for being obsessive though-he used to do washing and he'd do it wrong so I took over and if he did try to clean my kitchen for me once and I ended up re doing xx

bluestarlavender · 08/08/2008 13:05

Heverhoney - I think we can probably hold hands on the 2WW...FF says I OV'ed on Tuesday, but I suspect it might be wrong and could be kinda now(ish). Lots of EWCM and my cervix is open and soft (eeuuuwwww TMI! Sorry). Still no strong positive OPKs, and that's been worrying me.
