Hello, holiday girls! DH and I celebrated the bank holiday in traditional British fashion by going to a car dealership to look at estate cars to accommodate our dog (pending) and our (so far imaginary) baby. The salesman was very young-looking, which only made me and DH feel even more glum about the realisation that we were trading up from our usual GTi to something more 'mature'. I think we're going to compromise by opting for something with tinted windows and more horsepower than we strictly need.
I have a cautionary Watchdog style tale for this Bank Holiday teatime - for anyone else who stockpiled those First Response ovulation sticks with the free Early pregnancy test when Boots had the 2-for-1 offer on last month. I felt so rubbish on Saturday (8 DPO) with the metallic taste/fatigue thing that I did a test when I got in, and after about thirty seconds I got two lines! I stood there looking at it in mild shock, then when it didn't change, phoned my mum, since DH was out. She was v excited, and started going on about names and cots, and how she'd known when I refused the fifth bacon sandwich, etc. I called DH a few times, couldn't get him, and was about to call him a third time, when I checked the stick again and the second line had VANISHED! VANISHED after ten minutes! I got straight onto the interweb, Googling frantically (what did we do before the internet? Seriously?) and apparently - on the POAS site - it's a registered problem with some of those FR early tests, that the positive result can appear then vanish, and you're supposed to consider it negative. I was a bit , then kind of , then kind of at the fact I was testing far too soon anyway.
I did a test yesterday (9DPO) and it was negative. But then I had a tiny bit of spotting, plus some rashy spots, and I've still got the metallic taste, so I don't know. My nipples seem pretty noncommital. I'm never late, so I guess I'll know by Thursday...
summerbird I'm doing that 'hmm? coffee? different?' thing too! I'm so stupid, though, because I always tell myself it does, and then DH points out I'm drinking decaff. Maybe we should combine our symptoms??
hello!! to everyone else [waves]
