Hi guys, new thread for us to carry on!

MAF just had a scoot at your pictures and you looked gorgeous girl! Glad you had a fab day - how was v festival? i was having a good drink and dance at your 'do' on thursday

flirty i would definitely recommend Bath for a mini break, the hotel we stayed in was fantastic too, our room was on the top floor and we had amazing views of Bath, when i get myself together i will post some pics.

BSL i had a go at surfing! well i say had a go - summerbird threw her fat ass onto a surfboard and lay on it and let the waves take me to shore - it was hysterical and good fun too. We went to the Kings Head both nights as you would expect and had some good food, the weather was horrendous but Hillend Campsite had really good facilities - oh and you are right about Eddy's breakfast - amazing!

On the 2WW now, should be due in about 10 days, i thought AF was due 31 Aug but as i OVd on Thurs it might come on Thurs 28th (honestly you could set your watches by my cycles), but hey what am i saying - hopefully the evil witch will keep away!!

makingafamily · 20/08/2008 16:05

Hey

Thank you all for your virtual toasts, fantastic frock wearing and boogie'in in honor of our big day. It really was all fab and cant believe its over. Will get some more pics as soon as we get them on disc.

Hows everyone doing today? We're off to dinner with our daddies to be (who ive posted a few pics of too!) Kinda scary that the next time we see them after tonight might be with yoghurt pot and turkey baster in hand

makingafamily · 20/08/2008 16:05

Fingers crossed for you on your 2ww summer

summerbird · 20/08/2008 16:33

LOL i was going to ask how you were going to do it MAF and indeed i imagined the turkey baster might feature at some point.

TMI ALERT

So MAF with that in mind i feel it is my duty as sistahood to give you some advice. Baby juice is icky yicky and downright messy! All i will say is be prepared to prop yer bum up on a cushion and when you have lay there for however long then give it a run to the loo - get your DP to have the loo door open so you can run for it as the left over stuff will - erhem - take you by surprise otherwise. You and your DP are sooo lucky not to have to deal with that all the time!!!

Sorry bout that girls - i just felt she ought to be prepared as the Girl Guides said........

Bonifacio · 20/08/2008 17:12

Summerbird I have been dying to ask how MAF, Mrs MAF, Mr MAF and Mr MAF were planning on conceiving, though I just assumed they would have sex, (sheltered shitty village upbringing so so sorry for my naivety) I know obviously about the turkey basting method however just assumed that sex would be the easiest option.

Flirty I have sent away to do a distance learning course, going to finally finish my A Levels as I left the UK mid way through mine. I am going to study English Lit and Ancient History. Both are subjects I am interested in and should be sufficient to get me into uni!

Ooh and my PG friend has found out today that she is expecting a boy!! How exciting I am so so

PS Summerbird babyjuice but mostly

makingafamily · 20/08/2008 17:36

ha ha ha Summer. Thanks for the tips although i have had some contact with baby juice many years ago although DP hasn't and is a little freaked out.

OMG Bon there is no way me and bio daddy could manage that, we'd look at each other and laugh.

Me and DP gave it a test run with egg whites last night after a bottle of wine! Oh dear what a mess! Was that TMI?

BubbaP · 20/08/2008 18:30

Hi girls

Welcome back to MAF, Bonifacio and summerbird!!

Summerbird - shame you had such awful weather in Wales!
Hope you remembered to wave to me on Sunday evening!

Are we all here at the moment, or is anyone away?!?! Feels like a bit of a reunion and catching up with all the news!

I'm fine, feeling a bit nervous about this weekend - the end of my 2WW... but it seems I'm not alone and we can all keep each other updated on MN!

Vix67 · 20/08/2008 19:06

Hi bubbap im feeling really nervous too about this weekend as its the end of my 2ww too!! Im feeling bit down tho cos am starting to get period like pains!!

Fingers crossed tho our AF's dont arrive!!

On a more positive note my free clearblue pregnancy test arrived today!!

xx

DawnAS · 20/08/2008 19:26

Hello all,

MAF, PMSL about the egg white -

Flirty, apparently most people don't get symptoms until at least 6 weeks so you're alone there hun!!

Hey Vix, Bubba, B, Saz and Summerbird - how are you all today?! Sorry you had awful weather Summerbird!! Hever how are you feeling today, and you BSL?

Well I think I may have been OVing this week. I thought I might have been having Implantation cramps earlier in the week, but they only lasted a morning and since then I've had lots of EWCM so I think it might have been OV pains instead. We've BDd every other day (back to it tonight) so hopefully we'll be lucky. But unfortunately, my trapped nerve has decided to trap itself again so I'll be back onto the Ibuprofen tonight - .

It's really difficult to keep track after an MC as to what your body is doing. Now I understand why some people suggest waiting until you have an AF afterwards, but I didn't want to wait, I just wanted to get back to TTCing again.

So, from 1st September (yes, we set ourselves a start date), DH and I will be starting to look for our first house. We're aiming to be in by Xmas and since we're FTBs we should be able to get a really good deal. So really really pleased that good old Alastair Darling is looking to freeze Stamp duty - it'll save us soooo much money!!

So, gossip from you ladies please? Where's Crunchy today?!

xxx

PS: Apologies if I've missed anyone out...

summerbird · 20/08/2008 19:49

Hi bubbap i did indeed wave madly at you on Sunday night, although we were a bit fraught as my friend had been burgled whilst we were all away at the weekend, but i have to say that her neighbours and Cardiff Police were exceptionally helpful (and the Police officer was sooooo cute!!)

MAF i too PMSL about the egg whites, still is good to get a bit of practise in!!

Dawn i dont blame you (and am rather proud of you) for your positive outlook, they do say that you tend to get PG whilst you are focussing on other things so maybe the house move will kick start it....?

Bonifacio i too have mother issues, i love mine to bits but she too is overly critical, but she also gives a lot of love and good advice, good work on the A Levels, i dropped out of doing mine too and went to work instead, i dont regret it as i have a decent career but admire you for going back to it.

hi to flirty bsl vix and crunchy and big waves to everyone else!

wildfig · 20/08/2008 20:16

I'm visiting my mum and dad for a few days too - Mum and I were having one of those frank mother/daughter chats on the way to Tesco, about me maybe starting a family, and I mentioned that I was taking my temperature every morning, thinking I was being oh-so-modern. Wasn't really expecting her to roll her eyes and say, 'Yes, your dad used to get reeeeeeally bored of me doing that first thing, and the charts, and then I got my tubes blown out and your father had his sperm tested and I had to go to the clinic immediately after we'd... you know... and check it was where it should be (?!), then I was about to start on Clomid and...'

At this point I was yelling 'lalalala' and literally taking my hands off the steering wheel so I could stuff my fingers in my ears at the thought of my dad taking a jam jar to the village clinic and/or running my mum there in the car in his boxer shorts (God...) - but I suppose it goes to show Nothing Changes, thirty years on, and at least we've got the internet to be supportive on!

PS bonifacio that's so cool about the a-levels - hope everything works out. I did English and Latin, and loved the Ancient History parts. Go Classics!

wildfig · 20/08/2008 20:18

PPS my mum isn't usually an over-sharer, and i HAVE come to terms with the facts of life, honestly, but I think that's what happens if you don't have MN to vent on: there was 33 years of TTC stress bottled up in her and it just erupted in scary, detailed fashion...

bluestarlavender · 20/08/2008 20:57

Hi guys,

I love this thread!! I have PMSL at loads of the posts tonight, from egg whites MAF (I heard that you can use egg white as lubricant like pre-seed!!) to parents sharing far too much information Wildfig!!

My sister announced the other night while out at a nice restaurant with me and my mum that sex was so much better post-baby! My mum agreed and I sat there in disbelief! Firstly at the general sharing of these details (and it did go into more detail at this point!), secondly at the public place it happened and finally, because I have always been a bit worried about the sex-after-baby thing!! Good news for us all! But I would have rather not found out while eating my dinner!

Summerbird - so sorry your friend got burgled! That's so rubbish! But glad you had fun in the rain camping!! Oooh were there power sockets in the shower blocks??

Dawn - I have my fingers crossed for you, hun! You have been so sweet to me and I know you've had a horrid time of things! Roll on the house buying and the TTC!

B - great news about your courses!! And you inspired me to buy a mooncup today! If the evil witch does make a visit at least I'll have a new toy to play with!

Hever, Bubbap and Vix - we're all due this weekend!! Fingers crossed for all of us!! You guys might or might not know, but yesterday I had a mini meltdown on the Bonkers thread!! I stupidly tested on Mon and Tues and got BFNs! I'm getting back on track, but not holding out much hope!

Saz - I haven't marked my BDing dates in my diary yet, but I have checked out FF for what it's predicting for next month already!

Anyhow off to read OK! mag, I never normally buy these types of magazines, but it's got Britney in it and I like her! I feel really sorry for her having gone through such a public melt-down!

laters,

Well back at work today and the first time i'm away from the Mrs, other than an hour on Tuesday when i had to attend a quick meeting from work (Yes, i done that!! I am commited to my job lol) and i miss her

Wildfig, i love that story.

Well had a bit of a false OPK alarm yesterday and dinner at the harvester nearly turned into insems at mine. The clearblue fertility monitor decided not to work yesterday morning so i done a cheap ebay OPK, nothing and then picked it up to throw it in the bin 20 mins later and 2 lines, one very faint!!! Went to the chemist and bought the clearblue OPK's and negative, re-read the instuctions and found out that a line fainter than the test line is a negative reading. Oops! You would think after peeing on sticks for 3 months i would have got the hang of it by now!!!! I now have 3 sticks to potentially pee on everyday, do you think i'm becoming a little obsessive LOL

Fingers crossed for all you that are testing this weekend

heverhoney1 · 21/08/2008 10:00

Morning all!

I make it that I am now 12 or 13 days post ov. Having quite bad cramps that feel like AF so I am not holding out much hope! The waiting sucks because I am supposed to be going out for a family do on sunday and I want to know if I should offer to drive or I am going to be in desperate need of a drink or several!!! Message to all - DONT test early it messes with your head!!

BSL - Huggs for the mini breakdown I have had many many of those!!! We are all here together!

Dawn- You are so right trying for no #1 is so different from the others as none of us know what to expect or how to feel. I hope it happens for you really quickly and that this time it feels right right from day 1 xxxx

bluestarlavender · 21/08/2008 10:50

Morning all,

I'm seconding Hever on the not testing early!! It really does mess with your head! Although, so does the whole TTC cycle for me to be honest. My temp dipped today, so still not holding out much hope although I am freezing! I've decided not to test tomorrow. I'm going to pack my new Mooncup and one test to take on holiday. If AF hasn't arrived by next Thursday, then I'll test. It's the test day FF gives, so I'll go with that. I am also going to have some champagne at the airport tomorrow night! It's a stupid ritual DH and I have got into whenever we go away...oysters and smoked salmon at the seafood bar, I have champers and DH has some very strange very alcoholic beer. I'm going to stop putting my life on hold waiting to get PGand just have fun!

Hever - I'm sorry you think AF is coming! I hope it doesn't and lots of people say that they thought AFwas on the way and then got a BFP...it's not over til the witch swoops in!!

fairywing · 21/08/2008 10:52

Hi again ladies . I think that i am possibly on the 2ww now but won't stop bd'ing just in case! CD1 was on the 8th, we managed bding on CD5,9,11 & 13 so far i think. Yesterday i had a tiny bit of EWCM and some cramping. Today no EWCM so far. So does that sound like i am on the 2ww? As i said before i don't know how long my cycle is and more as this is the first one since my endo treatment but that would put me at around a 28ish day cycle i think wouldnt it?? All very confusing this TTC lark!!! So if i am on the 2ww i would plan to test on 8th sept at 3 days late but realistically will probably test on 6th which would be 1 day late will see how it goes So who am i joining on the 2ww??

I woke up this morning with waves of nausea and laid in bed till it passed thinking hmm i wonder!! That would be some early morning sickness though lol!!!

makingafamily · 21/08/2008 11:02

Hever i would go with BSL's advice and just carry on life as normal. I don't intend to put down a glass of wine with dinner until i see a BFP. We are still booking holidays and doing the things we would normally do. Its too easy to let TTC take over your life. Although this coming from the women that is now peeing on 3 sticks a day and although has no CM and no positive OPK readings is tempted to get the boys over tonight to start insems as their off to see Madonna in cardiff this weekend and i'm on CD10. Trust Madeg to get in the way of our baby making TSK

BSL have a great holiday

Everything crossed for your BFP's ladies

bluestarlavender · 21/08/2008 11:08

MAF - I think it's worth getting the boys over...after all if the swimmers can survive up to 5 days, it's worth getting some troops in well in advance of OV!!

Fairywing - you might have OV'ed but it's hard to tell...I would keep going with the BDing just to be sure. I had a little bit of ovary ache on CD15 and EWCM (just a little bit), but then ended up OVing on CD19 (loads and loads of EWCM)

BSL x

OP posts:
heverhoney1 · 21/08/2008 11:09

under normal circumstances maf I would agree with you but on Mon Night I got a pos result which quickly turned into a neg on tues morning. I suppose the real answer is to test again on sat wich will make me at least 14 days post OV. IF it pos then I am and if it neg it is fair to say the little one didnt stick.

lol at Madge getting in your way. I vote you start insem as if I am preggers It would have been from BDing 3 to 4 days prior to OV!! Those swimmers can last!!! Yoghurt pots at the ready -wooohoooo

fairywing · 21/08/2008 11:21

Thanks BSL will keep bding anyway and see what happens then. I was only a tiny bit of EWCM so perhaps i will be the same as you and haven't ov'd yet like you say.

makingafamily · 21/08/2008 11:28

I think i'll see what the clearblue says in the morning and if its a high reading get the boys over before they go to see Madge. Just getting into a panic that i'll get a positive reading over the weekend whilst they are away although last month think i OV'd on day CD16. ARGHHHH this is driving me nuts!!!

Hever i've read so many stories about people getting BFP's and BFN's followed my BFP's. So hold out for as long as you can

Bady Dust (and yoghurt pots) for all

FlirtyThirty · 21/08/2008 11:30

Morning lovely ladies!

MAF - Def get the boys over...the sperm can hang around inside you for a few days...so better safe than sorry... Oh, and as for the drinking; I drank (not to excess, but none the less a few glasses of wine) right up until the day I got my BFP. Definitely the way to go...9months without something deliciously alcoholic is enough for me as it is!

Hever - Well done on the 'no early testing' campaign. It will save you stress and money. :-)

BSL - My temp looks like a roller-coaster course..it is up and down all over the show and I still got a BFP, so please don't worry about that. In fact FF doesn't even think I OV! Here's my bizarre chart to reassure you:
www.fertilityfriend.com/home/21abc0

Wildfig - WAY TMI for the mother! I would have died if my mum had told me anything about the ins and outs of my conception! (and I consider myself pretty open and liberal...)

Dawn - Sounds promising...possibly! And so exciting about the house move. DH and I moved last year..it is SO lovely to have a new place...and far better to move now than with a little baby in tow. Hope you find a place you love soon...and fab if you can get in for Christmas!

Big hello to everyone else!

Flirty x

Bonifacio · 21/08/2008 12:17

Good evening!!

Well MAF I agree with everyone else about getting the boys over before they go away. ANd I would resist testing over the weekend while they are away as it would just be so frustrating for you all if you got a potitive OPK while they weren't available. There's no point putting unnecessary stress on yourselves!

BSL Definately continue your ritual! When me and DP go away I always have a glass of champagne when I get on the plane before take off and I don't intend to stop. Especially as flying terrify's me!! ALso good luck with the mooncup!!

DAWN I'm inspired by your strength the carry on trying and hope I would be the same in that situation!

Wildfig I really hate when parents over share! Mine all over share about their toilet habits which is just way way way TMI for me!

Fairywing Looks like quite a few people are on the 2ww! You should be in good company!

Hever I agree that carrying on as normal until you get a BFP is the only thing to do if you want to keep your sanity!!

Flirty I love moving house! All the packing and excitement and picking a new place and buying new things. SO much fun! Hopefully the next time we move we WILL have a little baby in tow!!

SO I am on CD5 at the minute, just waiting for AF to leave and then DP will be on vacation sun sea and lots and lots of sex! WHat more could a girl ask for!!

Ooh and another good friend of ours just gave birth to a little girl at the weekend 6lb's!

summerbird · 21/08/2008 12:18

MAF you do make me PMSL! 'Baby dust and yoghurt pots for all' i love it - and yes get those boys over before Madge wrecks your weekend!

BSL There was one solitary plug point at the shower block but these annoying 18/19 year olds were hogging it - anyway as a result i have discovered that i can make my hair go a little bit curly with hair wax (instead of just plain frizzy!)

wildfig you think you have it bad honey - my NANNA started telling me stuff a while back about 'frolicking on the bed' eeewwwwwww

fairywing i am with you on the 2WW - am due in about 10 days time

flirtymamma how are you and little bean today?

I agree with everyone elses comments about not putting our lives on hold, i too am drinking alcohol (well it has been my 1yr anniversary), BSL i loved your story about champagne, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, i am soooo with you! I too am planning holidays and not cutting back on the booze until i have to.

I have to tell you all this - when we were having breakfast at the hotel there was a couple behind us, she was clearly abot 4-5mths PG, and when she said to the waitress 'could you please ensure my fried eggs are cooked right through as i am PG' DH saw my face and we both giggled, as i was really trying not to tell he to stop showing off..!!

And a big HI to everyone else (summerbird waving madly)
