Daisy, can't find your other post so bumping this up again so you see this one!

bluestarlavender · 10/08/2008 10:16

Morning guys,

Having fun in Jersey! The weather has been surprisingly good, despite the dire warnings from the weather men of lots of rain! We even had a BBQ last night. Today is looking nice and sunny, so we're off to the zoo this morning and then off to the beach to go surfing (not me...I'm going to sit and chill and read!). Sorry to all you guys having crap weather!!

HC and DD - Okay got a massive rise in temp at 9am this morning, after solidly sleeping for 2.5 hours - 36.89. I also took my temp at 6.20am this morning, after a horrible night of tossing and turning. But I was worried I wouldn't be able to sleep again (how wrong was I?), but my temp at 6.30am was 36.24. This is why I am struggling with temping and am very confused. HC - you mentioned that I need to have 4 solid hours of sleep prior to temp taking. I never ever have this, because I normally wake at least once or twice in the night and often have to go to the bathroom. Any advice...I'm putting everything into FF! But I had awful ovary Friday and Saturday, plus had a fading OPK positive yesterday. Feeling completely fine today, no ovary ache, thank god! So think I OV'ed Fri/Sat. Anyhow, sorry it's all me me me!! How are you guys doing on the 2WW??

Daisy - I can't really help very much, as I'm not very experienced with this at all! But I am sure everything is fine. Don't symptoms come and go anyway...? Thinking of you though and I hope you get the reassurance you need.

Soosy - we're all here for exactly these kind of frustrations! Don't think you're a fraud!!!

Hi to everyone I've missed and I'm sorry for being all me me me!! I'm a little limited with time at the moment! and now being shouted at to get my arse ready to go out!!

I promise I'll catch up properly either later or tomorrow!

Morning all, unusual for me to be here at the weekend but DH has just gone out to buy Lego Star Wars and Light Sabre sets for the Wii - guess what we will be doing for the rest of the day .

CE - hope that you had a good days' shopping. Went to Cardiff yesterday and spent more money than I was intending but I don't go very often so took advantage. I'm sure you will be fine this time around just take it easy and as they say "hang loose monther goose!"

Soosy - sorry to hear you have to wait so long for an appointment - NHS really is crap at times

Daisy - I'm sure Tuesday can't come soon enough. I don't know about the sore boobs only in my case if you poke them often enough to see if they are sore they do become so

Hope the egg catchers were sucessful - still a bit too early for me this month.

DH is in good books at the moment and is about to give Mr Myjob (saintly man of this thread) a run for his money! He has only gone and booked us a daypass for Chatsworth House and a night in a superior room at the Cavendish Hotel (which is on the Chatworth Estate) as my birthday present .

Going to lie down to get over the shock of it all.......

daisyj · 10/08/2008 11:25

Thanks, everyone. bellie - am only 7+1 today. Sorry for the major panic - am really trying to calm down. Reassuring to hear you've had something similar. willmouse - I've been doing the poking thing, and they definitely do feel more sore if you do it hard enough

Bellie · 10/08/2008 19:20

How are you now Daisyj? hope you have not been worrying too mcuh toiday (hard as that maybe)

Willmouse - wow for your dh really impressed! I take it he has arranged childcre too? Also hope that you had a good afternoon on the wii!

hope everyone is ok and you are just too busy bding or finding someother way to make the 2ww pass quickly.

Thinking of you ce and hope you are ok.

Thanks guys for the support, daisy i remember symptoms coming and going in early PG last time, DD is totally fine, and have a friend who is 34 weeks now and said the same thing happened to her, so maybe it's just your body adjusting and getting used to the hormones? Best of luck, can you talk to a Dr and have a scan maybe?

DawnAS · 10/08/2008 19:45

Hello all,

I hope that you've all had an OK weekend.

Finally got around to BDing again on Friday so almost time to have a bath and get ready for tonight's session.

Following my boss's agreement to pay for a new office chair for me, went off to Staples today to buy the massage chair - it is wonderful and will certainly help me get through all those boring conference calls!! £140 so quite a bargain really (considering I don't have to pay for it... .

So, daisyj, how are you feeling now? I'm sure that everything will be Ok and it's natural to be worried. I would suggest NOT googling anything - I'm sure google is the work of the devil.... Keep your chin up hun, you'll be fine.

BSL, hope you've had a lovely time in Jersey. DH and I went there last summer for a few days and stayed just outside of St Helier. It was the first time I'd ever been there, although DH had worked there in the Pontins years before. He'd spent 6 months there (as Captain Croc in the Children's Club - ha ha - ) and loved it so wanted me to see it. It was near the "Portelet Inn" overlooking a beach. Unfortunately, when we got there, it had been demolished!! It was a long way to go for something not to be there anymore!!

I loved the zoo though and the Jersey War Tunnels. The weather was awful though . But I would like to go back at some point!

HC, oooh, I'm excited for you - nearly time to start testing. I'm getting a good feeling for you this month!!

Hi to everyone else - I hope you're all well!!

xx

HumphreysCorner · 10/08/2008 21:43

Bloody Internet Connection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bit late to catch up now I'm connected but will do tomorrow after the dreaded testing. Don't feel PG now just AF like-have prodded my boobs so much to see if the hurt so now they are sore from prodding.

Off up to bed now. PIL popped round tonight and it would appear that MIL has my hairstyle now.

Love to all.

BFN as I expected-temp has dipped a tad too so I don't know. Did dream I was PG then woke up and reality set in-doh! Really struggling to sleep so temp taking is a nightmare.

Back soon

DawnAS · 11/08/2008 08:52

Hi HC,

Sorry for the BFN.... When is AF actually due? I'm losing track!!

BDing is becoming a bit of a mare now because at some time on Friday daytime (not sure when because I didn't notice it until I tried to lay down...) I've trapped a nerve in my back which is agony and I can't get comfortable in bed. So even though we are BDing, it's become more of a chore again. I don't even know what painkillers can help a trapped nerve, if any!!

So I've three nights now of no sleep and now back to work .

Ho hum....

xxxx

bluestarlavender · 11/08/2008 09:04

Morning all,

HC - sorry about the BFN!! It's still early days though, right?

Dawn - Any anti-inflamatorys will help...so ibuprofen, diclofenac (altho this is prescription only), but if you don't want to take anythngmuch, maybe try some ibuprofen gel or a deep heat pad.

BSL x

HumphreysCorner · 11/08/2008 09:13

Oh Dawn-trapped nerve . Don't think painkillers will help-perhaps Ibuprofen may help slightly. AF due either Thurs, Fri or Saturday-I've no idea as my cycles are not always 28 days anymore.

daisyj-how are you this morning? Perfectly natural for you to worry. Hope you are OK.

bluestar-your chart is very confusing but keep temping and we will see what happens in the next 3 days. Hope Jersey was lovely.

detox-your chart is fine. How are you doing? Another few days and you will be where I am now and I will most likely be on CD1!

Flirty-you haven't updated your chart. Are you OK?

belgianbun-any news?

Right, must get on and do lots of washing for our caravan hols on Saturday. PIL deffo going to Bristol and Cornwall-nowhere near Wales is it?????????

Waves to everyone else.

Bellie · 11/08/2008 09:15

Sorry about your bfn hc - but it is still early days isn't it!

Dawn, can't really suggest anything else than bsl and rest I'm afraid.

Has anyone got any matchsticks? DD was awake at 3.30 this morning as there were shadows in her room. She then went back to sleep, just I was dropping back off again she woke up again at 5.00 - "mummy my fingernails need cutting" - err actually they were only cut 2 days ago no they don't. Finally dropped back off about 6ish then 7.15 "is it morning yet mummy" arrgghh!! Remind me why I am having number 2 ?

Also strange - had a letter on sat for dh referring him to the urology clinic, as his sperm test is dubious Seem this baby is more of a miracle than we first thought!

FlirtyThirty · 11/08/2008 09:29

HC - I'm so sorry for your BFN! How are you feeling today? When is Af due...or is she late?

I have just updated my chart (was away for weekend). I've had a big temp rise for the last 2 days, though a real dip on Saturday. AF is due on Friday - just in time for my birthday! Grrr! I've never had temps this high before, but gues it's just a post-OV rise...?! What d'ya reckon...?

Flirty x

HumphreysCorner · 11/08/2008 09:52

Flirty-you have a short luteal phase if AF due on Friday. Fingers crossed for us all eh? If we can just get one BFP between us that would be fab.

HC
x

bluestarlavender · 11/08/2008 11:01

Flirty - are your cycles always very regular?

HC - it would be nice if a few of us can get BFPs together! [hopefully emoticon]

ChocolateEclair · 11/08/2008 12:06

Hi ladies, I missed you lots!

You sound pretty OK though I think!

HC - sorry about BFN but it is VERY early isn't it!!!! Are you looking forward to the latest caravanning trip? No, Bristol and cornwall are not particularly close to Wales!

Flirty - I looked at your chart. It's very odd isn't it! Maybe you have ov'd twice??? ha ha ha!

BSL - I have misplaced your link but will have a look if you post it again! How are you feeling so far? Hope you enjoyed Jersey as well - my parents had their honeymoon there!

Daisy - hope you are feeling OK and have been reassured by some of the things said by the others. Keep your chin up!

Bellie- your DD sounds very sweet to me, but I guess it might not be quite so sweet in the middle of the night! How far along are you now?

Dawn - glad you are now officially back on the wagon and have started BDing again. How about some deep heat for the trapped nerve? Just don't get it in your eyes (or delicate bits!)as it stings like mad!!!!

heeby - only one more sleep til tomorrow then you will hopefully get some answers. (Hoping it's a BFP really!)

Any news/updates from ceebee, MJIM, HM2J, majormoo, BB, Juanitad, knax, Mandy or soosy?

We haven't heard from Angel/Baileymist for ages have we? Hope she's OK.

I am feeling loads more confident at the moment. I took all your advice, went shopping which was fab, watched a few films, had some cuddles and a bath, and stayed off MN all weekend!!! Also, my morning sickness is now pretty severe (IMO)and have actually been sick twice now!! The only thing I can keep down in the mornings are bacon butties! And, this could be a tad TMI, but my nipples seem to have almost doubled in size in the last 3 days. Is this normal???? They look quite strange to me!Only 2 more days to go to get to 7 weeks, which we will be celebrating!

Thanks again for being lovely on Friday girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

DawnAS · 11/08/2008 12:12

Oh CE, all this is sounding wonderful (although I'm sure you're not loving the sickness - although it's a great reason to have it)!!

The nipples thing is definitely normal so don't worry - just another wonderful symptom to add to your list!!

Glad you took our advice. Shopping sounds lovely. If it wasn't for my horrid spots, I would have done that too. But I didn't want to see anyone I knew. Much like your nipples, my spots are now twice the size too!!

Thanks for the Deep Heat suggestion.

Looking forward to lots more symptoms for you!!

xxx

bluestarlavender · 11/08/2008 12:23

Hi CE,

You sound lovely and chilled and I am so happy you had a nice weekend! PSML at you and the bacon butties!! Great PG food!! Sorry about the actual MS though, that's not so nice! But I guess you're probably kind of liking the PG symptoms, despite some of them not be that nice!

Here's my chart link www.fertilityfriend.com/home/21c0a7. I think my chart is very similar to Flirty's. I think I actually OV'ed Fri/Sat, so am in for a longer cycle this month.

Dawn - how's the back?? I would try the Deep Heat too! I find it can help...I also have one of those herbal heat pads that you heat in the microwave...I've found those to be really good!

BSL x

Mandy73 · 11/08/2008 12:32

Hi all,

Wow, so much chatting!
Sorry about the BFN HC but surely it's v early days? Will you hold off testing again for a bit?
Sorry to hear about the sickness CE. My nips got massive quite early on... You could hang a coat on there .
Dawn glad to hear your'e back in the saddle.
How are all you 2ww-ers feeling?
I hope all the PG ladies are well.

Great to be back after a hectic w/e - lots of house guests - lots of leftovers (yum).

Told DHs parents + my lovely SIL (I also have one I'm truly scared of) in person, very happy all around, esp FIL (we get on v well). Then told my parents on the phone (they live abroad). Seem v happy too - would be 1st grandchild - mum said she probably wouldn't be able to sleep as so excited . Also compared notes on symptoms and spotted a lot of differences, like she was plagued by morning sickness for 5 months & gained lots of weight - but she was 11 years younger & underweight when she conceived.

I'm working abroad 1st week of Sep so lots to do in the run-up. Just hoping I'll still feel as well as I have. Booking appt. Wed 13th - looking forward to it.

Have a good day all. xx

ChocolateEclair · 11/08/2008 12:38

BSL - that looks good to me! Not sure what's going on with the dip but these things are never simple! (PS. You have done a huge amount of BDing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) You must be feeling pretty confident!

Dawn - sorry your skin is still bothering you. Did you try the blemish gel?

I have been worrying about someone else quite a bit this weekend. One of DP's work mates wives is 26 weeks pg and they think she is on the brink of going into labour! She has had some strong contractions but they have temporarily stopped. The doctor is giving her some steroids to help the baby's lungs I think, but OMG! What if she has it this week? We didn't have a clue what to say, except that if they needed anything then to let us know! Their dd was 8 weeks early as well a couple of years ago. Scary stuff.

I guess I will probably only really relax when my baby is born! lol

bluestarlavender · 11/08/2008 13:28

CE - Oh, sorry to hear about your friend...it must be a scary time for her, but at least the baby is viable at this stage. (sorry I don't mean for that to sound heartless - I know what they are going through must be terrible! All I meant was there is hope.) I guess everyone must be trying to keep the pregnancy going for as long as possible. I read something in a book the other day that said having a child was like allowing your heart out of your body to walk around. I thought it was a beautiful way of describing a mother's love, but also her constant fears.

As for all the BDing, I was having a go at copying what Mandy did on her John Wayne month. The problem was I was so unconvinced about the OV day that we kept going. If I did OV Fri/Sat...then we just started BDing too early!! Poor DH! In terms of confidence about this cycle...actually because we did start BDing so early and have BD'ed so much, I'm more worried about the 'quality'! I guess we'll have to see what happens now. I don't think we could have done anymore, so I guess it's up to fate now! Feeling quite calm on this 2WW, compared with last month, but it's early days! I'm sure I'll start going crazy soon enough!

BSL x

daisyj · 11/08/2008 13:42

HC - sorry about the BFN - might still be a false one though...?

Dawn - ouch, you poor thing. It's just adding insult to injury isn't it? I'm sure the spots will calm down - remember that your hormones are still all over the place. Hope you feel better soon, hon. You are so right about Google, though. I try to avoid it.

CE - glad you had a lovely weekend. I'm also feeling pretty sick. Food helps, but unfortunately there are so many things that make me feel more queasy that it's hard to know what to eat. Bacon butties definitely good, though . My cousin had her baby at 28 weeks - it is a frightening thing.(Incidentally, same cousin said she knew she was pg when her nipples went 'really scary' ) Although she's doing really well, it's still just a day by day thing, as she develops and gets stronger. Really tough - but it's amazing how much help can be given to really premature babies these days, so fingers crossed for your DP's friend's wife.

Hi Mandy - good to hear you sounding so well and perky!

So, in the middle of writing this message, I called and booked a scan for next Wednesday; I must say I feel a bit better now I have a landmark to look forward to. Thanks so much for all your support. I might stay off here for a few days now, and try to chill out and not think about things. xx

Hi everyone! Done my usual of not logging on for days and you lots are sooooo chatty I haven't got a hope of catching up apart from what I see above.

HC, sorry about the BFN, but I am guessing from previous months that it is early days?

CE, sorry to hear about your friend but if it is any consolation, a woman on another board I use had her baby last week at 27 weeks and her little girl is already off the ventilator. It really IS amazing the things they can do with such prem babies these days.

I have not long returned from my 28 week midwife appt (28+5 today). Once again, I am measuring scarily big, the growth chart in my notes literally looks like it is moving in a straight upwards direction......well, not quite, but it is definately a steep upwards curve. At 24 weeks I was 28cm and this week I measure 34cm, so am measuring 6 weeks ahead already. The midwife was a little concerned and is insisting that I tell birmingham that they have to do a full growth scan as well as rechecking the heart when I go on the 2nd Sept. If the baby really IS measuring big I am looking at being delivered early, possibly as early as 37 weeks, which is scary considering it is only 9 weeks away .

I hope everyone else is well.
