New thread as requested (panic, panic) - hope the name will do?

OP posts:
Bellie · 08/08/2008 19:28

oh ce - i know exactly what you mean - I was absolutley terrified for the first 6 weeks this time after the ectopic last time. As others have said, last time is not the same as this time, and hopefully you will get through this weekend. As it is the weekend can you get up to some fun stuff with dh to take your mind off it all?

MJIM - lol at the milk (although I know it can be a bit ) I had this with dd and I had no idea that it would happen before she popped out!! Was mortified until I found mn and realised that it was normal!!

Had a lovely day with my friend and her baby although baby is suffering a bit with tummy trouble. Also - you wonderful people do you know if you can continue long term breastfeeding with nipple shields ?(I bottle fed so have no experience)

HC - yumm could eat chinese now! . Hope you manage to get up to some fun things to take your mind off testing!

Hope everyone else is having a wonderful Fri night and a good weekend planned

xx

HumphreysCorner · 08/08/2008 20:00

Bellie-I bottle fed DD1 and BF DD2 but she lost interest and finally stopped at 9 months. She was never hungry so my milk had dried up without realising. Unfortunately, I didn't use nipple shields so can't advise.

Dawn-so lovely what you have written.

Aww Dawn - you are so lovely and You have almost made me and Dp cry (he is reading this thread today). I have told him about my worries and he says we can go shopping all day tomorrow. I have been out and bought my fave sweets and biscuits, and I'm about to run a bath! All good advice thankyou!

I think I might keep off MN as much as poss for a few days, but it might be torture! Thanks again so much to you all for your reassurance - as always I literally do not know what I'd do without you xx

Hopefully I will be like a new woman by Monday and a bit closer to the all important 7 weeks.

DawnAS · 08/08/2008 20:24

Hi All,

I really admire people that can BF. My Mum didn't seem to have a problem, but neither of my sisters could take to it and just managed the 2 weeks at the beginning to boost the babies immune systems, but after that turned to bottles. Part of their problem was that the babies didn't seem to be getting enough milk so were never satisfied.

I don't know what I will do but I do know that I'll certainly do the best that I can and I guess that's all anyone can ask. I do know that there are lots of pressures about BFing, but my view is that whatever is good for Mum, is good for baby and vice versa.

Definitely going to get down to BDing tonight I think, although I'm feeling quite rough. I've got one of those achey throats that preceeds a cold - ...

Soooo, time for me to go now and boost my energy.

All my love to HC, Bellie, BSL, CE, MJIM, DD, Ceebee and everyone else I might have missed!!

bluestarlavender · 08/08/2008 20:48

Woohoo! I jumped DH as soon as he walked through the door. He thought I was hilarious. I just felt like Monica out of Friends when she and Chandler were trying to make babies.

Anyhoo, CE - so pleased your DP is taking out for the whole day shopping!! I suspect shopping is my most favouritest hobby!!

I have to go pack for tomorrow now. We have a 7am flight...so it's a very early start.

Love to everyone!! I will try to post from Jersey, but am yet to see if I can get connected over there!! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

BSL - you go girl

Have a great time x

Have a great weekend every one

ceebee74 · 08/08/2008 21:10

CE - I think everything has been said already and I can't think of anything better than a day's shopping to keep you busy Will be thinking about you but keep positive and I am sure everything will be ok!

BSL - have a lovely holiday - I bet Jersey is just fantastic.

Dawn - I couldn't bf either - I tried for 2 days but DS wouldn't latch on and I didn't produce any milk anyway. Not sure what I am going to do this time round - yet another decision to make in the next few weeks!!

Heebychick · 08/08/2008 23:08

Hi to everyone, it's just taken ages to get through all the messages and i hae only been away a day!

How is everyone tonight?

I had my blood test today and hope to get the results on Tuesday, i still feel the same and have been having twinges in my tummy too so hopefully the results will show something.

xx

bluestarlavender · 09/08/2008 12:03

Hi everyone,

In Jersey, HC did you see my temp this morning?? 36.0 what happened!!! I've discarded it, as I did have to take it at 3.30am this morning! But I did it 3 times and got pretty much the same result. Anyhow haven't managed to read anything yet! So will catch up now!

BSL x

majormoo · 09/08/2008 13:33

CE you have my sympathies because know how horrible those early weeks are. As others have said do nice things to try to keep your mind off it.

Bellie not sure about the breast shields but assume it would be OK.

Have SIL's hen do tonight and three friends staying here. It is pouring and cold here-we will be outside all night on the beach when her friend has hired a beach hut til 2am. At least everyone else can warm themselves up with booze. Can't say I am looking forward to it. Still, I will get a lie in as DH is taking the kids to stay with friends for the night.

Bluestar hope you are enjoying Jersey

HumphreysCorner · 09/08/2008 14:16

bluestar-don't discard it. As you got a +ive OPK yesterday it might be low as you may be OVing today. All you have to do is alter your time on the bit where you input your temp. As long as it was taken after 4 hours solid sleep it will be OK. Hope you are enjoying Jersey-I went to St. Helier when I was 7 years old.

HumphreysCorner · 09/08/2008 14:18

Oh majormoo, it is dreadful weather here in Lincolnshire-so depressing. How that your SIL is going to have her hen night spoilt by our crap weather. Hope you all have a good time despite the rain.

HC

majormoo · 09/08/2008 15:02

HC everyone else will be fine I am sure just sober billy no mates here left to feel the cold!! I was pregnant when my sister got married, when lots of very close friends did and now DH's brother's wedding so should be used to it by now! Still have had time to tidy house and mumsnet in peace as everyone is stuck in traffic outside Brighton and DH and kids have already left.

Hope you are doing OK. Have my fingers crossed for you on the long long two week wait

HumphreysCorner · 09/08/2008 15:23

I just need to add a symptom that looking back on my old TTC after a MC thread I had then before I tested +ive with DD2. I am freezing cold and just cannot get warm. Hoping I am not ill or anything.

ceebee74 · 09/08/2008 15:27

Majormoo - hope you do manage to have a good night despite the soberness and the cold! The weather really is crap isn't it?

HC - ooh, I can't wait for you to start testing next week - but I know how hard the 2ww is!!

All is well here - Disney channel are showing a feature-length Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at the mo so guess where DS is Am trying to get him to conserve his energy as he has been invited to a birthday party this afternoon which doesn't start until 5.30 - and this is a party for a 2 year old!! I have to ask why anyone thinks that is a good idea but hey ho, am sure DS will enjoy himself anyway - just be far too hyper to sleep when we get him back. Fortunately DH's cricket match has been cancelled (not really surprising given the weather ) so at least he will be at the party aswell so I may be able to relax and chat to the other mums a bit more!

Bellie · 09/08/2008 16:37

Majormoo - what a shame about the weather tonight . Hope you manage to have a good time though - make sure you take a jumper as you will have no booze to keep you warm!!

HC - I think it is just cold and horrible rather than you being ill - I have just dozed on the sofa wrapped up in a big blanket!

Bluestar - what is the weather like in Jersey? Hope you have a fab time!

Hope everyone else is making the most of the miserable weather!

daisyj · 09/08/2008 17:40

CE - I'm feeling just the same way, and we WILL get through these first few weeks, especially with everyone's kind words and support here. Your words to CE were just what I needed too - thanks, lovely ladies.

BSL hope you're having a lovely time in Jersey.

HC - everything still crossed. The wait is nearly over, hon. Hang in there...

I'm exhausted - the strain of keeping it together at work and not just laying my head on my desk has caught up with me, and I'm lying in bed reading books and magazines, rising only to catch up on here

Have a great weekend everyone.

xx

soosy · 09/08/2008 20:23

HC I wish you a calm and successful 2ww.

CE hope you are feeling less stressed and having a lovely bath. I was so stressed when pg with ds I had five scans before I was 12 weeks pg! So I am thinking of you.

daisyj, I understand you are in similar position. Shoot me if I am wrong, thinking of you too.

Bellie glad to hear you are ok.

majormoo I would love a tidy house, well done.

Ceebee hope the party was good.

Wishing great things for tuesday Heebychick

and lots of love to anyone I have forgotten.

I know I am a bit of a fraud here, but just to let you know I have finally got a follow up appointment to my failed FET in June, its the 3rd Oct, don't you love the NHS! Not entirely sure what I am going to do yet. I read today that Senator Edwards wife has terminal cancer linked to fertility drugs am now feeling v nervous that I have pumped myself full of the damn things for 10 years and I really want to be around to DS grow up. Just something else to worry about.

MJIM - good luck with the b/feeding again..lol at the cow like functions

Heeby - good luck with the results on Tuesday

BSL - HC is right about the temp...you could be ov'ing. See what happens tomorrow - fingers crossed for a big temp rise.

Daisy & CE - hope you are feeling well today

MM - rubbish luck with the weather for your sil's hen do - hope you kept warm and had a good night none the less!

Ceebee - hope you all had a good time at the party, and managed to get ds to sleep after

Hi to everyone else out there !!

Am taking dd to a giant soft play area tomorrow in case the weather is naff again - she went a bit stir crazy today in the house today! It also keeps my mind off the 2ww.

Catch you all soon xx

daisyj · 10/08/2008 07:00

Ladies, I need some advice/information. Didn't sleep very well last night, as in a bit of a panic. My main symptom (this time and last) has been really sore boobs. In the last couple of days this has all but faded. I know that's not a good sign, but has anyone else had the same thing and still gone on to be fine? Is there any reason other than the worst one for symptoms to fade so early on in pg? I'm going to post this elsewhere, too, as am desperate for some reassurance.

Daisy

Bellie · 10/08/2008 08:13

Daisy - my boobs hurt then didn't then hurt again and are still hurting a bit.
How far are you now (sorry have lost track a bit)? Not much help am I but wanted to answer you, will also try and find your other thread.

Soosy, great to hear from you - that is a long time to wait, but at least it is something to focus on. Don't really know waht to say about the drugs, but maybe you should ask at your appointment what the stats are (or maybe not if you are worried), but you know what I mean. Hope the house move etc is going well.

Hope everyone else is ok back on later xx
