New thread as requested (panic, panic) - hope the name will do?

OP posts:
ceebee74 · 07/08/2008 19:58

MJIM - thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately we have no proper food in the house either so my tea has consisted of a bowl of Frosties and some cherries!!

DS is fine - he seemed perfectly ok last night aswell - he had thrown up before he woke us I think so by the time I got in there, he was fine - wanted to play in fact!! Me and DH soon put a stop to that though

HumphreysCorner · 07/08/2008 20:04

MJIM-you lightweight you. There is still time to gain another 7lb.

Flirty-are you using FF if so can you post a link to your chart so I can put a link on my desktop like I have done with detox and bluestar's charts.

HumphreysCorner · 07/08/2008 20:09

x-posts ceebee-The girls being sick in bed is something I dread as they sleep with lots of cuddly toys and books on the bed which get covered. Bleurgh! Hope he is OK tomorrow-bless. BTW I read your thread on travelling and found some of the responses a tad . Must be very tiring for you. When are you going on maternity leave?

HC

ceebee74 · 07/08/2008 20:22

HC - Josh also has a cotful of stuff but the only thing he HAS to have is his blankie which unfortunately did get caught in the puke last night but we bought 2 so have a spare one for emergencies

RE travelling - I found the responses a bit aswell (as did most of my ante-natal pals) but I think it is due to the competitive streak that is on here - the kind of woman who says ' I was pg with triplets, already have 4 kids and carried on working 60 hours a week up until the day I gave birth' Good job I am thick-skinned eh?

Mat leave - I am reducing down to 2 days a week for 3 weeks in October (using my holidays) and then taking 3 full weeks holiday from 27 October and officially starting my maternity leave on 16 November - so really my last day will be 24 October - and I cannot wait!!!!!

bluestarlavender · 07/08/2008 20:34

Hi guys, hope everyone is okay!

Ceebee and HC - I thought some of your responses to your travelling question were not the nicest or most helpful...some were, of course. Dawn was saying on the first-timers thread about stuff like this...there are some very odd people about on MN and sometimes it can get a little unpleasant!

Anyhow, off to have some dinner!! DH is now stealing my grapefruit juice - he says it improves his CM!! Now I know I've been talking about TTC too much!

Oooh HC and Ceebee, not looking forward to the puking in bed thing....

My DH is actually really worried about me being PG because I've had a phobia of being sick since I was about 11. Whenever one of my younger siblings used to get a horrid stomach bug at school, I used to run to the chemist and buy bottles of Kaolin and Morphine (do you remember the stuff - looked like tar and didn't taste much better) and drink it, hoping that it would stop me catching it. Until I moved in with DH, if I was living in a house with someone who had been sick that day, I would actually move out and stay with friends for a week until I knew the germs weren't there anymore. And I'm not joking!!

I'm hoping that I'll be able to manage the MS, but I'm more worried about when I have a child and they bring bugs home from school.... I haven't actually been sick for 9 years!! So I'm guessing that the fear has grown worse over time.

The Dr wants to send me for CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy) but I just haven't got around to it....

I'm feeling jittery just thinking about it....

HumphreysCorner · 07/08/2008 21:16

Kaoline & Morphine-I have a bottle in my cupboard at all times-swear by it. DH looked at me gone out when I introduced him to it but now he is a convert. You see, TMI coming up, a Dr once told my mum that when you are sick swig some K&M and even though you might sick it straight up you never actually sick every bit up so some is left to do it's excellent job. Re morning sickness, to me it is completely different to food sickness as it was always frothy liquid and not food that I sicked up.

Right, have I put you all off your tea?

BTW Dawn-when I looked at you wedding pics my eyes watered. Was all emotional-do you think it is a sign?

Knax · 07/08/2008 21:24

Whoa, I just can't keep up with you guys. That's why I ended up leaving when I was pg to be honest, if I read back over all the posts before I start I don't get any tidying up done and stay up too late and am knackered.
Anyway, enough of my excuses, just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone and particularly to choc eclair, as I am so happy you pg again!
knax xxxxx
p.s. had insomnia last night so really need sleep tonight

DawnAS · 07/08/2008 22:15

Ahhhh HC were my photos that bad??!! - Only joking (unless they really were that bad - )!!

Thanks for the visions of the frothy stuff

Anyway, off to bed now ladies!!

Hi Knax!!

Chat again tomorrow!!

Love and sweet dreams to you all.

Bellie · 08/08/2008 08:32

Morning!

Ceebee - at the comments on travelling. Not particularly supportive. Roll on October when you are cutting down/starting mat leave!!

HC - oh is that another sign!! Roll on Monday!!

MJIM - and at you and losing that weight straight away!! I was soooooo upset that I had to come out of hopsital in maternity clothes - I was convinced I would at least be able to wear my larger normal clothes. In fact I think I was still wearing mat clothes about 2 months later!

CE - hope the morning sickness isn't too bad, although I know what you mean about it being a good thing too!

Hope everyone else is Ok, have a friend coming round today with her 8 week old so will be interesting to see how dd reacts!

Have a good one!

HumphreysCorner · 08/08/2008 08:36

Morning ladies

Dawn-your pics were so gorgeous.

Very wet and windy here in Lincolnshire. Have been studying Charts Like Mine on FF as I do every month even though they don't really tell me anything. On one of them they got a +ive at DPO 7 which is today for me but am not going to test until Monday. Should really wait until DPO 11 (Tuesday) as when I compare previous charts that is the day my temp starts dipping for AF.

Anyone due to test soon (apart from the serial tester of course )?

Have a good day-off to symptom spot do some ironing and bits.

HC

FlirtyThirty · 08/08/2008 09:28

HC

Thank uyou SO much for explaing the temp thing so clearly! I do now understand what I'm looking for!

I do use FF - and will try and post a link for you...will go and work out how to do it!
I know I am not PG this month, but it would be lovely to have someone help me over analyse in the coming months...

For the first time ever, FF decided today that it thinks I OVd on CD16. Bloody typically, one of the only days I did not do an OPK test as i thought I should have OVd earlier in the month because of CM!

This has gone some way to confirming the need to BD every other day...am off overseas after next AF and will be away (with DH) for 3 weeks...hopign some sunshine and a change of scenery will up his s*x drive!
(Doubt it'll be the site of me in a bikini!?! Thank God, beauty is in the eye of athe beholder...)

Very excited about your imminenet testing! Fingers firmly crossed!

daisyj · 08/08/2008 09:45

Dawn - what can I say - you look amazing. I've never seen a dress quite like that before - it's stunning.

LOL about the patience. I'm the most impatient person I know. In fact, I'm hoping that this pregnancy will teach me some. I've just found out that my GP couldn't swing it for me to have a reassurance scan on the NHS in our area (no real surprise there), and although I may still crack and do so, for the moment I've decided not to go for a private scan and just wait till the nuchal screen at 12 weeks.

Oh, and snap with the spots and aching after my mc. They went away fairly quickly, but seem to be creeping back a bit with the pg hormones...

I'm going to have a really quiet weekend and read all the posts and catch up with you all properly, but couldn't resist looking at the wedding pics!

Have a lovely day, girls.

xx

MrsPuddleduck · 08/08/2008 10:13

Who ate all the cheese!

Great photos Dawn - what a fantastic wedding!

I have just caught up with all of the posts but am too busy to reply to them all today Need to do housework from top to bottom (which two children to supervise) so it will probably take all day.

I think I may resurrect FF and temp this month for the sheer fun of it. Is it OK to start on CD8 (or 11 as it will probably be by the time I get around to it?).

Catch you all later!

DawnAS · 08/08/2008 10:17

Morning All!!

HC - I'm getting very excited for you now. Not too long to wait!! Any more new symptoms today? I definitely think the emotions yesterday were driven by PG!!

Having loads of problems with my shoulders and back today and yesterday. Have persuaded my boss to fund a new office chair for me (I work from home) for £140. I didn't tell him that it had a built in Massager though - !! Can you imagine when I'm on conference calls and forget to mute the phone!! First they'll get the buzzing, then they'll get "Oooh aaahhh, oooh yes!". I'm sure when I'm having meetings with the Texans they'll love that!!

So anyway, off to buy the chair this weekend!!

DaisyJ, thanks so much for your note on the spots and aching. I am starting to get quite upset about the spots. I wouldn't mind if I could hide away, but it's Nieces 21st tomorrow and we're having a family meal. I can't even cover my spots because they're soooo bad. I use Clinique make-up but even that won't cover them.... I'm not being vain (although you might think I am...) but it just makes you feel so low and looks so unclean aswell! I do wash I promise!!

Flirty, I haven't started using FF yet. I think we're just going to BD every other day (starting from tonight hopefully) and then see what happens. Let's have a race to a BFP for next month - !!

Bellie have a lovely time with your friend and her baby!!

xxx

ceebee74 · 08/08/2008 10:40

Morning

Dawn - I completely sympathise about the spots. I have suffered for about 10 years with bad spots and it really is awful! The only time they have ever cleared up was when pg with DS and for about 12 months afterwards and now they have cleared up again so I guess I will be ok for at least another 12 months - but that only highlights how awful you feel when you have them and how great it is to have clear skin. I never found anything that worked and, believe me, I spent a fortune on products that promised to clear them up. Went to the doctors for antibiotics which did work but as soon as I stopped taking them, the spots came back and so on. And it is always worse when you have got an 'event' aswell - sorry, no advice there but just wanted to let you know you are not alone!

Thank god it is Friday eh?? Am definitely ready for a break this weekend - although my boss isn't in today so I am taking it easy at work - plus really rebelling and have the radio on aswell (that is one of my bosses pet hates ).

Mandy73 · 08/08/2008 10:54

Hi all,

Just a quick hello.
PMSL at BSL's DH finding his CM much improved by grapefruit juice .
Gorgeous pics Dawn I'm particularly enchanted by the cheese!

We had a lovely 1st anniversary. Now: House guests all w/e: Just waiting for some book shelves to be delivered, then off to buy big roast beef, make potato salad and do some essential work browsing. I hope everyone's well and has a great w/e. xx

Hi everyone,

Any news from Heeby yet??

HC - I have my fingers crossed for you!! After the 5 times in one weekend, there's not much else you can do!! So here's hoping!!

Can I ask about temping? How convinced is everyone of this?? I'm asking cos I've noticed peaks and dips relating to whether I've thrown the bedclothes off in the middle of the night. So I am not very convinced by it all. I had a massive peak during AF, when it was ridiculously hot because of the weather. Thoughts, anyone??

I think I've managed to befuddle myself with all the temping and OPKs and CM analysis this month. Last month I knew it was around OV time, because of the ovary ache I got. This month, to be honest I have no idea if or when I OV'ed. FF says CD15, but I don't trust anything at the moment. I've almost managed to convince myself I might not be OVing...mainly because of the super faint lines on the OKP tests. AAArrrhhh!

Anyhow, DH and I have agreed to BD tonight and then move to every other day BDing til AF, just in case OV hasn't happened.

Mandy - so glad you had a lovely anniversary!! I've taken your suggestion of the ruby grapefruit juice now...it's a bit better than the yellow one! DH is still stealing though!

Dawn - sorry about the spots! Just a word of reassurance though, they probably look way worse to you than to anyone else! So don't let them worry you too much. Plus your chair sounds great!! Where'd you see that??

Ceebee - I'm feeling like rebelling today too...so do not want to work!!!

Daisy - you're being good by waiting til week 12 for your scan...I'm not sure I could (very impatient too!). Can you not get a dating scan at week 10??

Big waves to everyone else

Flirty-if you click on home page set up at the top of your chart page it gives you a direct link to your chart at the top. Then we can help you make sense of your chart.

Meant to say both me and DH were acne sufferers hence me going on the pill at 17 to help it. DH had that awful roaccutane (sp) treatment for his in his teens that took the top layer of skin off. It has now been banned but he permanently has a farmers glow. Doesn't bode well for the girls.

Must get some lunch as I feel washed out. My friend texted me to say she woke up feeling dreadful so I suspect it could be why I feel so rough. Although, I haven't seen her for 3 weeks. Oh, the waiting is terrible.

Flirty-got a link to it now. Looks like FF has got it right and has put red dotted crosshairs as it hasn't got other signs to back it up like a +ive OPK. Will monitor you temp over the next week or so to get a pattern.

MJIM-bet you can't wait to go maternity leave.

bluestar-I agree with FF OV day. Just watch your temps over the next week as they will stay much higher than pre OV.
