New thread as requested (panic, panic) - hope the name will do?

Dawn

Onwards and upwards indeed

I am sure dh is upset in his own way...men are generally pretty rubbish at verbalising their feelings, esp when it's not something that is physically happening to him. Have a big drink together tonight and a proper chat

Fingers crossed for when you decide you are ready to start again x

ChocolateEclair · 02/08/2008 16:32

Hi everyone - I'm back from Mallorca - did you miss me? (Course not!)

Firstly, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news Dawn. Truly gutted for you . I have to say, reading the posts after the event, you have been amazingly strong and positive. As others have said, it might hit your DP later on (it did for us) and he is probably trying to be strong for you at the moment. I hope you feel better soon and can get back on the wagon as it were - we'll all be here for you - it's still the summer of love after all. Just do whatever you need to do for a few weeks, maybe a little break away? When you want to try again I would say go for it! (look where that got me hey!). We were told to wait one AF but ignored it! I think if it helps your mental state to be actively trying then go for it. The waiting would have been awful we felt. Massive hugs for you babe xxxx

Glad to hear the other 'scares' seem to have been dealt with. Hope everyone is ok - you sound like you have been a busy lot!

Our holiday was just what we needed! Very relaxing, loads of lazing around and swimming. Food, hotel and weather just lovely! And we now have a nice tan for the summer! The wedding went well aswell - pics on profile! I almost got away with the not drinking, but my sister asked me outright the next day "Are you pregnant?". I was so shocked I just said yes! We told them we didn't want to tell anyone yet, so I hope they keep quiet! Everything is ok with me, pg wise. No symptoms to speak of as yet! Kept hydrated on hols and didn't lift any cases etc! I'm not feeling as anxious as I though I might be - I think DP is doing the worrying for both of us! (If I took longer than 2 mins in the toilet he was waiting worredly outside!) bless him awww

Hope I haven't missed anything else of vital importance, sorry if I did, but there were 13 pages to read through!!!

CE xx

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 16:51

Hi CE,

I think I've been so convinced that it was going to happen, I'd already decided to be positive and try again as soon as we can.

So did you get PG again the month after the MC? Someone has said that it can be that you're most furtile after an MC and the Doc didn't seem at all worried about us trying sooner than AF as the MC was so early.

I'm so glad that you had a wonderful holiday. I don't know that we can afford a break away as we need to buy our first house before Xmas - and that'll be a mission in itself so with the stress of that I may find out that I'm 8 weeks PG and didn't even notice - wouldn't that be nice?!!

xx

Heebychick · 02/08/2008 19:43

Hi Dawn,

I am so sorry for your MC, it is very upsetting and i really feel for you, good for you for feeling positive about it and i pray that next month will bring you success.

I thought i'd write to say i had a similar experience, we fell pregnant in may and had a bfp after 4 weeks, then 3 days later i mc. It was a shock but like you once i knew what was happening i felt a little more settled and able to look forward.

The bleed was like a period, it lasted about 6 days although quite heavy. Then 3 weeks later i had a 'normal' period although it was early, i thought i had ov'd during the 2 weeks after the mc but i guess it probably didn't happen for me right afterwards.

I have a close friend who mc then fell with her dd around 3 weeks later so there's a good chance, plus she says it's almost more likely seeing as the hormones etc are all there already so you should be more fertile!

Good luck and lots of hugs xx

Thanks Heebychick and MJIM,

I had a nice bath and ate a very creamy cheesecake and I'm starting to feel better. DH and I are having lots of cuddles and know that we want to try again as soon as we can, but have decided to do it slightly differently this time.

We're going to aim to BD about 3 times a week, irrelevant of where in the cycle we are, so as to reduce the pressure and just see what happens.

In September we're going to start looking for our first house so it's going to be an exciting time which will hopefully take the onus off of TTC slightly and then it may happen and I'll have other things to occupy my mind than constantly worrying about another MC. It will be nice to have something else to focus on.

Even though I am positive, I do get low moments where I actually feel a failure. Other than one sister, no-one in my family or close friends have ever suffered a miscarriage and I can't help but ask "why me"? I've never smoked, I don't drink (well maybe 2 glasses of wine a month...), I eat well and my BMI is only 20.5 and I walk for an hour a day.

I am encouraged though that we managed to fall PG on Cycle 1, although not expecting to be so lucky second time around. I try to be optimistic but unfortunately, I'm normally a glass half empty kind of gal...

Oh well, I must stop moping and pick myself up!

xxx

Evening

Dawn - so sorry about your mc. Have only just managed to log on for the first time today since yesterday lunchtime but really wish I had been on earlier to give you support. Glad you sound so positive but, please, do not blame yourself for what has happened - it really is 'just one of those things'.

Soosy and CE - welcome back Glad your holidays were good.

Hi to everyone else - guess you are all off enjoying your Summer of Love

Had a busy couple of days - last night, straight after work, we met my parents and my sister and her 3 children at the local pub (with play area) and it was 9 o'clock before DS got to bed (and this was after a full day at nursery ) but he has still been his usual sunny self today so obviously the late night has not affected him! Although, twas quite funny as he was perfectly happy playing with his cousins and showing no signs of tiredness but the minute my sis and her kids left at 9, we asked him if he wanted to go to bed and he practically threw himself up the stairs

Baby still quite quiet but trying not to worry about it - am still feeling flutters, just not as often so am sure everything is ok.

detoxdiva · 03/08/2008 08:55

Morning all

Welcome back ce - sounds like you had a great time!

Who wants to help me anaylse my ff chart? My temp was it's lowest on cd 11. For the next 3 days I had ewcm and my temp rose, and for the past 2 days (cd14 & 15) it's fallen again.

When you've ov'd, should it peak high and stay high? This is all new to me!

HumphreysCorner · 03/08/2008 10:41

Morning ladies

Dawn-I am so sorry that your MC has now been confirmed. Can I just say something important-forgot to say it to CE and knax. Although it may be difficult you must keep taking PG tests as I had positives until about 6 weeks after my MC so I needed to know when they turned negative so I knew what was a fresh, new pregnancy and not left over levels from the previous pregnancy. {{mega hugs}}

Welcome back ChocEclair-hope you had a brill time.

detoxdiva-go onto your homepage setup on FF so that you can get a link to link us to your chart so we can have a look. Looks like you OV'd on CD11 but need to see your chart really.

MJIM-31 weeks Only 9 weeks to go.

ceebee-sounds like a lovely evening. DS will be tired today. Sophie never moved so was permanently prodding her but rarely got a reaction. She was and still is a laid back child. I used to sit and watch my tummy rippling all the time with Em and as you know she is wild, wild, wild! You can go to the maternity unit and they will have a listen anytime.

We went to see Mamma Mia and it was fab! Stuffed at the Pizza Hut first-ordered 2 small pizzas but they had run out so gave us 2 medium ones for the same price. Of course I couldn't leave any. After we went in a wild pub on the waterfront-just great. The girls are coming home this afernoon so looking forward to that. The summer of love is going well and I think I OV'd on Friday-too knackered this morning to send any more men in but may try tonight even though the OV day is well over.

Have a lovely day girls.

Oh God, HC - posting a link, never done that before...here goes

www.fertilityfriend.com/ttc/

Whaddya think?? If I ov'd on cd11 then I've missed the boat haven't I Grrrr.

detoxdiva · 03/08/2008 13:46

But also to ov on cd11 would indicate a cycle of 25 days? Never in the history of the world have I had such a short cycle - could it be I haven't ov'd yet?

heverhoney1 · 03/08/2008 13:48

Has everyone here paid for the full membership on ff?? I am still on my free trial but as I am so irregular I think it would be good for me to track what goes on and when?? Did anyone have any problems witht he exchange rate?

detoxdiva · 03/08/2008 13:51

HH - I haven't paid to join yet - and am still using the free basic membership.

HumphreysCorner · 03/08/2008 14:04

detoxdiva-your link just takes me to the logon page. If you click on homepage set up it will give you a link to share at the top of the page.

this is a link to mine My current chart is the top one under the Chart Underlay Graph which you set up by adding previous charts.

I bought the full membership of FF as it does so much more and I needed all the help I can get with it. Would recommend doing it.

Any good??

Thanks HC

detoxdiva · 03/08/2008 14:27

Ok...just done an opk and it's a def positive! So - that means I am due to ov in the next couple of days right? Dh away on Tues until Thurs (typical) so need to get in as much bd'ing before then as possible.

HC - your evening sounds lovely. Fingers crossed for a positive result after your weekend of lurrve!

ChocolateEclair · 03/08/2008 14:42

Hi everyone - time for some proper replies!

Daisyj - congrats! Are you really excited? Any symptoms yet?? Hope you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy, but I know what you mean about the innocnece being lost.

MJIM - cannot believe you only have 9 weeks left to go! I am so shocked! Hope you aren't feeling too whale like and are starting to get the nursery ready! Very exciting! Ds must be looking forward to meeting his brother/sister!

ceebee - sorry you are a little worried about bump.(Must have missed that when I skimmed through sorry). Hope you are relaxing today. As HC says, could you pop in to the midwife for a quick listen to put your mind at rest?

detox - I don't think you have ov'd yet! Don't stop BDing!!! I had a crazy chart like this once and though I wasn't going to ov, and we were about to give up on that month then I ov'd! You do sometimes get the EWCM at other times in the month, it's the temp rise that def confirms ov. KEEP AT IT GIRL!

Dawn - how are you today? Hope you are OK, and that your DH is able to comfort you a little. Did you have a nice glass of wine last night? I so know where you are coming from with the "why me?" questions, I went though the same questions. It doesn't seem fair that people who want a baby so much and do everything right, seem to have the mc's. I would echo what HC sadi about doing a couple more pg tests to make sure they do go -ve so you know for the end of the 2ww. My experience was that I bled for 10 days, quite similar to a period but longer, and more painful (I don't normally get period pains much). The last 3-4 days it was tailing off a lot. The pg tests finally went -ve on CD18 (mc started on CD1)and I ovulated on CD24. Got BFP on CD 38. This was a mc at 7 weeks although baby was only 5 weeks size. I don't mean to go on, but thought this might help you figure out what to expect.

HC - your evening sounds fab. I think I might have to go and see Mamma Mia! Where are the girls this weekend?(excuse ignorance)Are you going to share this months chart? Any trips planned in the caravan coming up?

Mandy - nice and relaxed?

BB - I really feel for you. You mustn't give up though. You know that you can get pg seing as you have before. It is just taking time. Keep positive and rant on here! (Suggest Mandy's mini-skirt and lovin' the grapefruit conversations!)

soosy - glad you also had a great holiday. Have you moved house yet?

bellie - you are doing so well and time is flying! Can't believe you are in maternity stuff already! If you didn't know better you might think it was twins!

waves to HM2J, Willmouse, Juanitad, baileymist (where are you?), flirty, and wellies!

who is heebychick? Are you new or someone changed names????

detoxdiva-I suspect that you haven't OV'd yet but will either tomorrow or Tuesday so get BDing!!!!!! Repost your chart on Tuesday.

ChocEclair-I posted a link to my chart earlier today. Hope you are OK.

The girls are back and chaos has ensued. DD2 is soooo tired and keeps whining-happy days.

Can't wait for Mamma Mia to come out on DVD as I will have to buy it so I can watch it again and again like I do with Bridget Jones, Evita and Notting Hill.

Hi All, sorry Mandy i gatecrashed as i was following Dawn's story and wanted to add my support.

We are ttc DC2 and having a pretty tough time of it right now, long story short is i have strong PG symptoms, am on CD36 with no AF, had slight bleed on CD24 which lasted a very short time and was mostly spotting (impantation maybe??) but only BFN so far - although thought i got a very faint line today.

so that's me, very confused, had a MC in May so hoping this hasn't gone the same way.

Whilst i'm writing has anyone used the LH advanced, access diagnostics tests and found them any good or useless?? i had some but so sure of them.

Thanks and hi to all!

x
