HC - you're so hot right now! (as my cousin's friend elegantly shouted at her during her first dance at her wedding!)

And all you other BDers - have a great weekend .

heverhoney1 · 01/08/2008 18:45

Hi all just a quick tmi question. If you have EWCM does that mean-

  1. Get BDing NOW or
  2. Too late you missed your chance and ov'd already?

Thanks

FlirtyThirty · 01/08/2008 19:19

Hever - answered on other post. It's 1.

Hi All,

Had a really awful night. Excruciating cramps started at about 7pm followed by bleeding at around 11pm. Fresh red blood. The pains carried on all through the night (I had an hours sleep) and are even more painful now, a lot more painful than normal AF pain and bleeding feels heavier.

I'm still going to the hospital, although probably in vain now, but I just want to check that it's not an EP because at least then I can try again and assume (rightly or wrongly) that there's no real problems other than, Pip just wasn't ready.

I'm absolutely devestated and feel totally alone as DH just gave the occasional grunt last night, while sleeping, when I told him that I was scared. This PG has been plagued with problems from the start and I just don't think he believes me that I'm losing the baby.

I've got to get ready for the hospital now so I'll come on line later.

HumphreysCorner · 02/08/2008 09:19

Dawn-I'm really sorry to say that the cramps you describe do sound like a MC. I do hope I'm wrong. Your DH will probably deal with it the same way mine did-they don't understand as they are not carrying the baby so feel no loss or grief. I wish I could give you a real hug but send a virtual one anyway. {{hug}}

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 09:22

Hi HC,

Thanks for the hug, a virtual one from you is a lot more than I'm getting from DH at the moment, so it's much appreciated.

I just want it gone now so that I can start again... Hopefully the next one will be completely different.

detoxdiva · 02/08/2008 09:27

Dawn, for you. Am sending another

Glad that you are still going to the hosp - it will help you move on and get ready to tr again if indeed it is the worst.

Men eh? Am also with mine after telling him this was prob my fertile wekend, he promptly fell asleep while I was getting ready for bed in the bathroom so no bding last night, grrrrr. If I didn't think there was still a chance I could get pg this month, there'd be no bd'ing for him for the next 6 weeks

Will be thinking of you this weekend Dawn, try and rest.

FlirtyThirty · 02/08/2008 11:42

Dawn - so so sorry for you! Huge cyber bear-hug from me too...
There must be something in the air...DH and I had a crap night together last night too. Won't bore with the details but it was horrible. Have sorted it with a long chat this morning. Nothing compared to the stress you are under though...I'm thinking of you..

Love Flirty xxx

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 11:53

Hi All,

Well, back from the hospital now. The doctor said that the blood test results that they had back from the lab after Thursday, showed that the levels of HCG hormone were extremely low, so it looks like the PG hadn't been going well for a while, so I guess my worries haven't been unfounded after all.

They took another one and are phoning with the result this afternoon, but since then I've had some small dark red clots in the blood, so I'm in no doubt anyway.

But strangely, already feeling positive about trying again. I've read that with an MC, you don't need to wait until your next AF until trying again, so as soon as I'm feeling better, we'll give it another go. Hopefully it'll be as easy as last time to conceive (although I'm not sure we'd be that lucky twice). DH is feeling optimistic saying that now my body knows what it needs to do, it'll be more prepared. I think he's more upset than he's letting on though...

So, hope you girls have a nice weekend and I'll be joining you again soon in John Wayne month. Glad I didn't sell my preseed....

detoxdiva · 02/08/2008 11:56

Dawn - glad you are feeling a bit positive. So sorry for your situation, but we look forward to welcoming you back into the world of John Wayne soon...

HumphreysCorner · 02/08/2008 12:35

Dawn-you will probably need to go for another scan then as soon as you feel ready you can try again. We will be here for you all the way.

WelliesAndPyjamas · 02/08/2008 13:03

Dawn. Thinking of you. So unfair but glad to see you are able to look forwards. I'm sure the truth will hit DH in time and you'll be able to deal with this together. Sometimes men can't quite get their heads around bad things being real.

Wishing everyone else pleasant weekends. HOT weather here and I'm hiding indoors.

bluestarlavender · 02/08/2008 13:06

Dawn - I am so so sorry, hun!! I hope you're okay...stupid thing to say I know...but just want to say I'm here for you! I'm glad you're feeling positive about the future!

Mandy73 · 02/08/2008 14:07

Dawn I'm so sorry for you both.
You are being amazingly brave and optimistic. I bet your DH is feeling much more than he can show right now - everyone has different ways of dealing with these roller-coaster emotions and it must be so much more abstract for guys. You just take it easy now and look after yourself. They do say that you can be extremely fertile in the cycle immediately after MC - fingers crossed for you. xx

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 14:18

Thanks for all your wishes girls. I really do feel strangely calm TBH, but I think that the stress of the last week has almost been relieved now that I know the truth. Pains aren't too bad now and are being easily controlled by Paracetomol.

Just out of interest, does anyone know how long the MC actually lasts if it's such early days (barely 5 weeks....)? Is it like the length of a normal AF but just heavier?

Anyway, catch up with you all later on.

xxx

PS: HC, they didn't mention anything about having to have another scan, unless the pain gets much worse or the bleeding doesn't stop. So hopefully it will be straightforward (unlike the PG!) and I can move on quickly....

daisyj · 02/08/2008 15:41

Dawn, >. So so sorry .

Not sure how long the bleeding will last, as it seems everyone is different. For me it tailed off completely after 10 days, but I was 11 weeks, although bean was a lot smaller.

There are three good reasons that some GPs suggest waiting one AF - on is to ensure no 'products' left, so no chance of you getting an infection (although a rescan would also answer that), the second is for dating purposes for the next Pip, and the third (which I can vouch for, having BD'd without protection before first AF), is that it can freak you out a bit to not know whether you're waiting for first AF or BFP (but that is a personal thing, and you may not feel that way).

I think Mandy is right and your DH is feeling it more than you realise, and I'm sure that will show itself over the next few days. Thinking of you - make sure you look after yourself and take it easy - and take a few days off work if you need to.

xx

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 16:03

Hi DaisyJ,

The Doc has just phoned back and confirmed that my hormone levels have dropped from 249 to 97 since Thursday so I'm definitely having an MC.

I asked him about trying again and he said that as I'm so early, I can try as soon as I'm emotionally over it because as the hormone levels are already so low, there's not going to be anything to worry about and I won't need a scan. I've put all my pregnancy books and things away now and thrown out the PG tests that I'd done.

Oh well, onwards and upwards I guess...

xx
