New thread as requested (panic, panic) - hope the name will do?

OP posts:

Morning ladies

Listen-the pics on the OPK packet show that anything less than a bright red line is to be considered -ive. This is not so as my months of OPKing have proved. The first month I used them I got one feint line and nothing else so thought I hadn't OV'ed. Every month since the same thing has happened and I have marked it on FF and it has tied in with the temp rise. Last night I got my feint line so am taking that as a +ive and the weekend of lurve starts tonight. Also, with the girls staying at mum and dad's until Sunday I have primed DH that he has got to perform lots. I will test again tonight but suspect it will be -ive. Don't give up hope Flirty.

Dawn-are you OK today? Results tomorrow eh?

Willmouse-we bought DD1 an enormous bookcase shaped unit from B&Q and it took me hours to sort her room on Monday. Going to get some doors for it to make it look even more tidy. Good luck with it!

detoxdiva-I suspect you may have OV'd already but you did start the Summer of Lurve before that didn't you?

Hi to everyone else

Hi HC,

I've got the second blood test tomorrow and they say the results should be in by the afternoon, but with hospitals, I'm never convinced so may just keep badgering them all afternoon until they tell me!!

HumphreysCorner · 01/08/2008 11:42

Dawn-will look out for you post tomorrow night. Can't think it will be eptopic if they saw a sac.

DawnAS · 01/08/2008 12:05

Hi HC

Well apparently the sac still goes into the womb, even if the pregnancy is ectopic.

The only reason they're looking at EP is that the sac was so small, but no smaller than they would expect at 5wks PG but they have to cover all areas I think.

The doc did say it was unlikely to be an EP, but they have to test.

Hi All,

Miss Paranoid here!!

I'm starting to feel a bit nauseous today but I'm also starting to get cramps again. Still no bleeding but just feel "weak" around the whole abdomen and lower back area. I am putting a lot of it down to my chair, but for those people that said that AF type cramps can occur in early pregnancy, what were they like and were they consistent or on and off? I do sometimes get them for about 10 minutes, but then when I go and lie down, they go.

Not that I'm looking for an excuse to work from my bed ...

MrsPuddleduck · 01/08/2008 12:51

Miss Paranoid - the cramps I had with both pregnancies are as you described. Felt like AF pains which usually went away if I sat down for a while.

With DS1, I remember DH and I took a trip into town, bought a test kit and then DH insisted on going to WH Smith. I distinctly remember standing while he looked at the DVDs and saying that there was absolutely no point doing the test as I felt that AF was about to arrive any minute. Got a positive result when we got home!

Keep your feet up!

FlirtyThirty · 01/08/2008 12:51

Hi Ladies...just a quickie to say thanks for the advice and cheering me up...you ahve actually managed! Dawn - delighted to hear to didn't get the two dark lines and still got PG! That's exactly what I wanted to hear!
Willmouse and Detox - will work some of Mandy's magic tonight I think! Think you are right that we must just go for it...

So...AF left on CD7. We BD on CD 8 and 10...and I'm now on CD12 so will try and get some action in tonight (know I have my work cut out as DH is totally knackered just now with work!).

daisyj · 01/08/2008 13:03

Dawn - I've been getting an ache (like pre-period); not specifically cramping (as in not spasms) but definitely a periody ache. I get it on and off, often for up to ten minutes, and they do ease when I sit down. After initially panicking about it on Monday morning, I've decided it's natural and a 'good' thing. As far as I'm concerned anything that's different from last time is 'good' , and from everything I've read on the subject it does seem that's it's normal and fine, and just a sign of the bean burrowing it's way in and settling down.

Also, given my experiences last time, I do really think think that if you were going to mc at this point the cramps would have intensified by now.

Hope that helps at least a little. Good luck for tomorrow.

DawnAS · 01/08/2008 13:12

I just have to say this before the feeling passes!!

Sometimes when I read all your posts, I have overwhelming feelings of affection for you ladies. They come over me in a wave and I feel like I want to cry. Considering we don't know each other, the feelings are quite bizarre.

Hoping this might be a sign - ha ha ha -

DawnAS · 01/08/2008 13:15

Thanks DaisyJ, the amniotic sack was still exactly where it should be on the scan yesterday, so assuming (and praying) that it's not an EP and that I've had the spotting since Sunday night, I'm sure the sac would have disappeared by now if I was having an MC, so I'm sure you're right.

I've come to the conclusion that as much as I know that I will love this baby, I never thought being PG could be so terrifying.

Does anyone know if there's anything you can take during pregnancy to make you relax? I just don't want to keep being anxious in case it really does cause problems!!

xx

detoxdiva · 01/08/2008 13:23

HC - you are the expert I feel on ov If I have ov'd already then should I keep bding for the next few days? Do you get ewcm before or after ov? I had lots yest and if Ia have ov'd then it will be the shortest cycle ever...I'm confused

HumphreysCorner · 01/08/2008 13:39

Dawn-the cramps I had while MCing were really strong spasm type cramps but the ones I had at 6-9 weeks PG with DD2 were like AF cramps and I freaked out but found that it is ligament stretching which is really common.

detoxdiva-I would keep BDing just incase you haven't OV'd but you are most fertile in the days leading up to OV and OV day. You get CM before OV and after as well. I do struggle to work out which type of CM I have so can't help you tell if you have fertile or non fertile CM.

DawnAS · 01/08/2008 13:42

Hey all,

Guys, I'm really sorry about this but I need to ask something else....

They talk about shoulder-tip pain being one of the signs of an EP. Now, recently (since before I was PG), I have been getting this pain down the side of my nick to the shoulder-tip, mostly because I have my keyboard too far in front of me so have to stretch my arms out which puts pressure on my shoulders.

I'm having the pain again today (but no other EP signs at all, none of the bleeding they describe or the abdominal one-sided pains AT ALL). But does anyone know whether the shoulder tip pain would be consistent if you were having an EP or would it just be there for a second and then stop and come back. I'm typing away now with my keyboard really close to me and am not feeling it at all.

Anyone have any experience of it?

bluestarlavender · 01/08/2008 13:43

HC - phew...I thought I was the only one with problems figuring out what type of CM I have each day. I know the theory, but translating that to me is proving problematic! I think I'm 2 CDs behind you, so am hoping for a positive OPK tomorrow...however seeing everyone elses trouble with unreliable OPK tests, I'm just going to BD through the weekend whatever the results.

BSL x

detoxdiva · 01/08/2008 13:49

Thanks HC - I have been told that the most fertile cm is the really clear (i.e raw egg white) type that is actually quite stringy - you can stretch it a few inches between your fingers [tmi emoticon]! I noticed it on the toilet paper yesterday and it was very stretchy so I am hoping I am having a very short cycle this month and due to ov about now (cd 13). Have bd'd today already (get me!) and will ply dh with nice food and wine all weekend - but not too much wine

Dawn - sorry I have no knowledge of that kind of pain. The only experience i have of ep, is a friend who had one, and right from the word go she was in intense pain which resulted in her being rushed to A&E - I am keeping my fingers crossed and am sure all will be well. When I had bleeding with dd it was very early days and they could only see a sac until I went back the next week and they picked up a heartbeat then. Good luck x

HumphreysCorner · 01/08/2008 13:50

Dawn-I don't really know but any shoulder pain should be reported but as you are back there tomorrow and as long as it doesn't get too bad I suggest you mention it when you go.

bluestar-I went on FF this morning and put in creamy CM and it said not fertile so I changed it to watery and it said fertile-lol! I am CD13 and think today will be OV day-OV was on CD16 last month. Hope you get your line very soon.

HumphreysCorner · 01/08/2008 13:52

Oh, I have that stringy CM today but not much of it so put down sticky on FF. Yesterday it was very wet. Sorry about the TMI. Think I will stick to the OPK and thermometer.

FlirtyThirty · 01/08/2008 14:36

Dawn - Mention it tomorrow but don't panic unduly. Like Detox my only experience of a friend with an ectopic PG was intense pain and a mad hospital dash..there was no doubt that it was something serious. Sounds to me like the keyboard is the most likely problem...I have shoulder pain from that regularly and know I'm not permanently PG.

Mandy73 · 01/08/2008 15:09

He everyone,

Dawn thinking of you for tomorrow. Happy you found the psychic good & comforting. I?m a sceptic and tend to think good psychics are mainly brilliant listeners and hobby psychologists - but I totally understand if others find them interesting & helpful in life. Each to their own I say!

BSL yup, rummaging a bit can help.

DaisyJ I have a little pot belly too! Or, hang on, that?s probably the dorritos I scofffed yesterday.

Detoxdiva with me the OPK tests were more reliable than the CM charting - but it does coincide, kind of. I have much more EWCM before than actually during OV ? but hey, that?s exactly when you need to do lots of BDing so makes sense really. Have fun over the w/e ? NOT focusing too much on when?s a ?good day? I think is key.

MJIM how are you feeling today?

Flirty I?m sorry! Not sure what?s going on, perhaps OV is still to come? If I were you I?d stick to BDing like mad for a bit longer.

BB you OK? Thinking of you. How is it over at the ?TTC for 40+? thread (I seem to remember you were going to check it out there after your birthday)?

HC sorry about the rain, jealous of the chips... Yum.

Bellie I?m fine thanks, beginning to relax & enjoy this experience again. How are you?

Ceebee Not a bad mother alert at all ? just one of those things!

Knax smiling att you ?looking forward to the rolercoaster of TTC? ? that?s the spirit, v Dunkirk! What doesn?t kill us makes us stronger, right?

Willmouse I hope it all works out and that you get the certificate!

All a bit gloomy & autumnal here, I think I need to put tights on before dragging myself to tesco. Have a lovely w/e all. xx

PS: Forgot to say re. the whole CM interpretation saga: Worth keeping in mind that during Summer of Love - BD fest-08 when you have lots of sex and get - ehum - tuned on a lot, the 'basic' CM produced will mix with sperm and - ehum - your 'excitement moisture' (well what the heck to call it?! ) and play havoc with the look & texture.

OP posts:
bluestarlavender · 01/08/2008 15:24

Mandy - Re: this CM malarky - Bloomin'heck - even more confusion for me! I'll keep on rumaging though.

BSL x

bluestarlavender · 01/08/2008 15:28

Anyhow, Ladies,

I am off to South Wales at 4pm today...will have limited access to MN, so just wanted to wish everyone a great weekend, and to the undergraduates, Good Luck for the BDing this weekend! We should all be walking like John Wayne next week - is that right, Mandy??!

Dawn - hope things go well tomorrow, but it's all sounding a bit more positive. Good luck!

BSL x

MrsPuddleduck · 01/08/2008 15:32

Mandy - how can you be putting tights on!!!!

Or is it just me sat here with shorts on (albeit overcast)

Have a good holiday BSL!

detoxdiva · 01/08/2008 15:43

pmsl at 'excitement moisture'

Bellie · 01/08/2008 16:54

PSML at 'excitement moisture' too - but you are right Mandy - what else can you call it!?

Dawn - I had an ectopic and had no shouldertip pain at all - so as the others have said, mention it tomorrow, but try not to worry about it, it is probably to do with all the stress that you have been under.

Hope you have a good hol bsl.

detox - sounding positive with your stringy and stretchy cm! Sounds like anothe bd night in the detox household!

pretty boring day here - apart from the gardeners (I know get me ) lit a bonfire at 9.30 this morning and it is still going can't open the windows or put my washing out and dd has refused to go in the garden because of the stinky bonfire . Just hope the neighbours have been out all day so they won't realise that it has been going for 7.5 hours already and is still really smokey.
