Question...is it possible to OV without OPK registering it? Only, my temps would imply that I OVd yesterday but the OP stick shows only the faintest of lines, which I know means negative... Is it possible that I did OV and it just didn't pick it up..?! Or is this delusional hope...?

Evening all

Dawn-hope the weekend clarifies things. Lovely to hear what the psychic had to say.

Had a lovely day at the farm despite the rain.

Does grapefruit juice work this quickly as I have tons of CM-never been known before.

willmouse-thank goodness you are back!

MJIM-after this month I think we are going for blue or pink.

Chips for tea as too busy to cook having been out all day.

Catch y'as later.

HC - the month I got preg was the month I had cm for the first time ever!!! - fingers crossed! And I want chips now, but dh out tonight and dd in bed so can't go

Dawn - sounds more hopeful and wow at what the psychic had to say. Will be waiting to hear how it goes on Sat.

Willmouse - great to have you back! Glad you had a good hols and that your sm job is taking off!

Flirty - go for it!

Mandy hope you are ok today

Someone asked whether I am in mat clothes yet - the answer is yes need to go and buy some more as seem to have got by last time with not very much at all.

DD loved swimming today (yey) so we had a lovely time.

MJIM - I thought I was being a bit hopeful wanting the kicking - still hopefully not too long to wait.

daisyj · 31/07/2008 19:23

I'm with bb and mjim. I used sticks for the first time last cycle and nothing seemed to match up. According to the stick I had the pre ov surge on day 16, but that would be late for me, and then I had what I'm sure were implantation cramps on day 18, which wouldn't have made sense iyswim. Anyway, little swimmers can fertilise egg up to 5 days after they start their swim . So get bonking, lady!

btw, DH just came in and asked if we can communicate soon, and now he's telling me that the cat is jealous of the computer. I think I might be acquiring an MN problem.

I think I'll just stick with the cm analysis and temping then...so far I had a +ive opk on cd9 and a -ive on cd12. Doesn't seem to make sense to me

ceebee74 · 31/07/2008 19:54

Evening ladies

Dawn - glad the news from the hospital wasn't bad and the psychic - wow!! Sounds good (although I am quite cynical about these things )

Willmouse - welcome back, we have missed you and were starting to get worried! Lol at sailing close to the wind - that is how accidents happen you know

Hi to everyone else - another one having chips for tea DH is on his way back from London so I told him to pick some up from the chippy on his way back! He is doing some work for a well-known, large department store in London at the mo and has returned empty-handed for the last 3 trips despite HUGE hints from me so he is under pain of death not to return empty-handed (other than chips of course!) this time - he is so unromantic, it is unbelievable!!

Bad mother alert - DS burnt his fingertips on my hair straighteners this morning. Not done any lasting damage and on the plus side, at least he won't touch them again!!

Am now 23 weeks pg and baby has really quietened down these last couple of days - do you think I should be worried? Still getting the (very) occasional flicker but nowhere near the movement I was last week. I honestly can't remember with DS but is this normal?

ceebee-Sophie burnt her fingers on my straighteners ages ago but was too to say so I'm glad I'm not the only bad mummy. DS2 is growing so I wouldn't worry too much about less movement. Space is running out for him.

Am being so bad on my diet at the moment but I did buy just one bag of chips between me and the two girls.

daisyj-lol DH just accepts my MN addiction thank goodness.

Have some ironing to do but too knackered to do it really.

Hey BSL,

Apologies for not answering your psychic questions earlier!

I've never really fancied Oz (until now [grin)), but the weird thing is that DH has always talked about wanting to live there (he's not really a believer in this stuff so was quite stunned...). Also, after seeing her, I did remember that I saw another spirtualist a number of years ago who said exactly the same things and I just put them out of my mind - just goes to show!!

So, my suggestion, if you want to see one, is to go with someone that can be recommended by someone you know. You can find these people in the phone book and stuff, but the woman that I saw works with my friend at the local hospital and so she is very "normal", whereas some of them very much look the part. She definitely didn't, in fact she was still in her Occupational Therapist uniform when I turned up because I was early! She doesn't use cards at all, she just tells you what her spirit guide is saying. She doesn't mince her words either! Some of them change the words around to make it easier to understand, but she doesn't do that. She uses the words that they're saying and if you can't relate to it, well tough really! She doesn't want to add arms and legs that she hasn't been told to.

She was such a lovely person aswell and clearly very excited with my reading. She says that it makes a lovely change to get such a positive reading for someone where they're clearly going to have quite an amazing and happy future. So I was really touched (who wouldn't be?!). Of course in a way, she's really put her neck on the line with the baby thing. Because (God forbid) that something did happen, I wouldn't believe the rest of it and certainly wouldn't recommend her, so she's taking quite a risk.

Surprisingly, I was there for over 2 hours and she only charged £20! Well spent I'd say.... depending on outcome on Saturday...

hi Folks,
Thinking of you Dawn, sorry you haven't had the answer yet but keep positive for sat!!
Hi to everyone else, had a quick read but no time for personal replies as must pack for going away to my parents tomorrow!!
MyJob you are always so thorough answering to everyone, you put me to shame! Thanks for lovely comment - I think focusing on losing weight is a good distraction for me really, but I'm doing ok, and looking forward (in a way?!?) to the rollercoaster of ttc again soon!
Good luck to all the bonkers and bumps!
knax xx

Evening all, just got in and can't possibly catch up with everyone! You've all been super chatty!

Thanks Dawn for the info re: the Psychic! I'll ask a round a bit and see if any of my friends know of any...they're all going to think I've gone Bonkers!! hehe.

Willmouse - hi!! I'm one of the new faces!! good to 'meet' you!

Thanks to everyone re: the OPK sticks advice to DD and Flirty...it's handy to know not to be too concerned with them and to watch for other symptoms like CM and temp!

Anyhow, I have to go get ready for this weekend...surfing and camping. (off to pack like I'm away for a month and not two days! )

Morning Ladies

Hope all is well.

Willmouse - just wanted to say hi too! I'm a relatively new face along with BSL

Dawn - that reading sounds positive! Have to admit I'm a bit of a sceptic

BSL - have a great weekend, hope the sun shines for you.

Hi to everyone else. Still totally confused here after the ewcm yest and the -ive opk.

My temp has been rising over the past 3 days, but due to dh's shifts, we've only managed to do the deed on cd's 4, 6, 8, & 13 so far (although after seeing the cm yest, I couldn't let an opportnity go to waste and I practically jumped on him when his alarm went off this morning . He muttered something about being late for work but didn't put up much of a fight )

Have a lovely day all xx

bluestarlavender · 01/08/2008 08:01

Morning all,

In the office today and had to get up at some ungodly hour this morning. I could literally crawl under the desk and sleep right now, I feel so tired! I am empathizing with all the PG ladies...exhaustion is not fun!

Well another '-' OPK for me last night, but again I was expecting it. Temp still nice and low too! Hopefully, I should start seeing some '+'s in the next couple of days!!

DD - PSML at your DH not protesting too much this morning!! Men, eh! I know my DH would gladly be late for work in similar circumstances, but not because I'm so irresistable, just cos he hates work!! He actually told me about a dream he had last night, he was trying to escape work and found a handglider and launched himself out of the window, gleeful shouting 'I'm running away!! I'm running away!!'. Clearly his job is not his vocation in life!!

Mmmmm, chips!! I'm starving this morning and trying to be good, but the canteen here does lovely cooked breakfasts on Friday mornings! I am going to require serious willpower to resist.

Laters,

BSL x

DawnAS · 01/08/2008 08:20

Hi All,

Hey DD, sounds like you've been doing enough BDing so I wouldn't worry too much. DH and I stuck to every other night for the week before and after I was due to OV (according to babycentre charting) and we obviously did something right, even though I don't think I ever got the "right" result with the OPKs. In fact according to them, I OVd 2 weeks in a row!!

I think I've managed to work out my spotting now. The doc said that it's probably still implantation as the little pip needs to burrow in deeply and I think what's happening with me, is that because my CM is sooooo heavy and thick, the spots of blood drop out through the cervix and hit this massive glob of CM (sorry about TMI) and that's why I only get the spotting in my CM. I guess people that don't have heavy CM, there's nothing much to stop it just coming out so it happens quicker. Mine is prolonged by the slower moving and thicker yucky stuff! Does that make sense to anyone or am I just losing the plot?

FlirtyThirty · 01/08/2008 08:54

Another negtive OPK result for me. Have decided that I definitely didn't OV this month...
Last month I got a positive result on CD 12, today is CD12 and nothing today, but I've alreday had the dip and rise on my temp chart... So...don't think they'll be any April baby for me...to rub salt into the wound it means AF will likely arrive on my birthday...

bluestarlavender · 01/08/2008 09:08

Morning Flirty,

Did you get EWCM this month?? I can't remember, but I thought you might have mentioned it in a post.

Don't be too glum, you might be OVing later, or the sticks might not be very accurate! I'm definitely not going just on the sticks!! If the temping does suggest you've OV'ed, the sticks might just not have picked up a hormone surge.

Anyhow, fingers crossed now for the next two weeks!

BSL x

MrsPuddleduck · 01/08/2008 09:26

Morning all, its good to be back! I was trying to stay away on the basis that we shouldn't really be ttc atm - just taking things as they come (pardon the pun LOL!). However, I would only stalk you all so I may as well join in !

Re OP kits - I know that a few have had sucesses with them but when we were trying to ttc DS1 my consultant told me not to use them. I think that if you read them wrong or if they don't work for some reason you could miss the boat so to speak. Don't get despondent Flirty - just go for it!

Dawn - hope you are better. I had spotting with both of my pregnancies and had scans for both at about 6 weeks (I think - I have a terrible memory). I actually had a 'light period' with DS2 - that's how I realised I may be pg - I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

MJIM - just looked at your new photo - fab bump!

HC -didn't take you long to go for either pink or blue LOL!

Is H2MJ still around?

Anyhow, don't know what my chances are this month. I ended up taking those hormone tablets on hols to stop the bleeding which I kept on getting on and off. It was definitely stress related. It does say on the instruction packet inside that if AF doesn't return when you stop taking them to check that you are not pg but they must affect you somehow..... I am not really fussed - I am supposed to be concentrating on the childminding thing (still waiting for certificate........)

Hi to anyone I missed!

Off to tidy the toy cupboard see you in about two hours

FlirtyThirty · 01/08/2008 10:06

Thanks everyone...I'm trying not to be too sad. It's only month 2 so I know it's very early days...I guess I kind of want to hear that some people get PG in spite of never getting a positive OPK...but anyway. I'll be fine, I just get depressed at fertility Friend's contsant 'Probably Not Fertile' reading...

BSL - I'm not too good at the CM analysis. I'm trying. I thought I had EWCM on CD10 (I'm now on CD12)...but it's gone now.

Flirty x

detoxdiva · 01/08/2008 10:10

Don't be too down Flirty - I'm abandoning the opk's too as I got a +ive on cd9, swiftly followed by 2 negatives . I had ewcm yest and another -ive opk, so I'm just continuing to follow Mandy's lead, and bd every other day! Ov is a wierd thing so you may have ov'd without realising or may still yet ov - so just get to it and you'll maximise your chances

DawnAS · 01/08/2008 10:37

Hey Flirty,

I'm the answer to your prayers!!

I was using the OPK every day during when I thought I should OV and I got faint lines on 2 days and nothing on the others (bearing in mind I did it for 2 weeks so not a short amount of time), so I don't think there were any +ives and I'm pregnant!!

So, as someone else said, just go for it!!
