Feeling for you Dawn and keeping everything crossed!
Thinking of you for tomorrow's scan Mandy!
Glad things are better Bellie!

Went for my scan today to check all is well after mmc, and i don't have to have any more check ups which is great. The Dr i spoke to after the scan clearly hadn't read my notes, and must have presumed I am pg and asked if I was having some bleeding. I then had to go through the whole thing to tell him what happened so he could fill in his form.
Anyway, he told me I could TTC after I get AF next, so I've got a bit of a rest. (Not that I'd particularly go on his word as was not impressed with him - probably makes sense to wait a month though).
Knax xx

HumphreysCorner · 29/07/2008 21:48

Knax-that is good news. As soon as AF has gone you can start the Summer of Love.

Good luck Mandy.

belgianbun-don't you just hate it when that happens? If he does agree to BD it will be a non romantic thing.

I was wondering where willmouse was. Is she on Facebook does anyone know? That's where I can be found at all times.

Off to wee on an OPK and watch BB in bed.

Love to all.

Oh, meant to say that the sonographers don't read notes IMO-they rely on the midwives.

Night all

Hot again here so trying to think of ways to keep ourselves cool. Birthday party this afternoon, so no doubt one hyped up dd in time for bed!!

Wave to everyone else xx

Hey All,

Just wanted to say good luck to Mandy for this morning. I'm sure you're going to be fine hun.

Well, still feeling really odd to be honest. Not feeling quite myself this morning. I've had the runs a couple of times, that were preceeded by what I thought were period pains and I was expecting blood, but no blood at all and the runs instead! Unfortunately I suffer from IBS and the pains I get before I have the runs are VERY similar to period pains and of course with the worry, it's likely that the IBS could have been triggered.

So, yesterday, used a sanitary towel afer having a spot of red blood yesterday morning. Nothing all day and then about 2 spots of brown blood early evening. That was it. Boobs are a lot more tender again and generally just feeling unwell today. I wouldn't say sick necessarily, just a very odd feeling in my stomach.

Had two, what I thought, unnecessary comments from best friends yesterday when I told them what I thought was happening. One said "Well, I guess you did get pregnant rather quickly" and LAUGHED (she's having her second baby in a month...) and the other said "Oh well, at least it was early days"! So basically they were both suggesting that because it happened quickly and that because I'd only just found it, it didn't really matter. Thanks girls! I'd chosen (I thought carefully...) who I wanted to tell thinking that they'd be there for me. I guess I know for next time....

So, throwing loads of babydust over you all this morning, especially Mandy and Bellie, hope everyone's Ok.

Good luck this morning Mandy - will have everything crossed for you

Dawn - how very insensitive of your friends - for you!

x

daisyj · 30/07/2008 09:12

Dawn . All I can say is that some people have NO idea what it feels like to have anything other than a completely 'normal' preganancy. If/when you feel strong enough or you want to then I think you should say something - you won't forget this, and it will affect your friendship with them on some level.

Anyway, enough lecturing! Thinking of you today an sending you sticky thoughts...

And to mandy and bellie

Hello everyone

Dawn, those were very strange comments from your friends. I can only guess at them not knowing what to say at that kind of news and it came out wrong. Really wrong.

Mandy - good luck

Hope everyone else is well.

A very exciting morning for me ...going to buy a chest freezer. Been pondering all weekend on whether to get the massive one which is a C rating or the very big one which is a B rating. Guess I'll just have to go with my instinct when I get there since the prices are the same. I know I would find a way of filling both either way. I have 20 courgette and squash plants that need harvesting, just for starters - lots of soup this winter!!!

FlirtyThirty · 30/07/2008 09:34

Dawn - I'm shocked and sad for you; what awful things for your friends to have said. Very insensitive. I agree with Daisy...if you can, it might be worth mentioning to them the effect of their words - in email or text if you find that easier than in person.
I know we aren't real life friends- but we do care! So please do hang around. I was going to email you but your settings wouldn't allow me too...
Sorry you IBS is playing up too - the last thing you need. I'm afriad I'm still with the majority in suggesting you have the scan; but I hate to say it in any way that makes you feel hasselled, so please read this as though I'm speaking very gently!
Stick around if you can...on good days and bad...we will listen and help where we can... How's your DH?

Mandy - Thinking of you with everything crossed... (I'm planning your mini-skirt technique tonight, by the way...)

HC - I too PMSL at the OV before bed, and then puzzled as to why you were going to bed with Belgian!

Knax - Doctor sounds appauling! No excuse at all. But I'm glad that you are feeling a little stronger and are ready to join us in the Sunner of Love!

Everyone Else - Good morning!

bluestarlavender · 30/07/2008 09:54

Morning guys...in the office today so had a horridly early start (4.45am!). How am I going to cope with a small person waking me all through the night??

Anyhow, Dawn I'm so sorry you got such thoughtless comments from your friends!! That's really insensitive and horrid! Can I ask you a question though...do you think you're still PG?? it doesn't sound like you've bleed much....just wondering. Sorry if I'm now being insensitive...

I tried out my first OPK stick last night and got a '-'. So that's good as I want a nice plot for my chart!! HC, I went for 9pm last night and good a nice clear result!

Mandy - thinking of you and hoping everything goes well today!!

More later guys,

BSL x

DawnAS · 30/07/2008 09:59

Hi BSL,

My Mum's convinced that I'm still PG (hoping that Mum's know best...), but I'm trying not to build my hopes up too much...

Boobs are very sensitive again today and just seem to be getting spots of blood.

Having not had an MC before, I really don't know what happens. But the slight spotting started on Sunday, so even in my limited opinion, I would have thought that there would have been more than a couple of spots of blood a day by now if I was having one. As my Mum just said, if my last period was 18th June, there would have still been the initial build up since then to come out aswell as baby and all the stuff around it.

Like others have mentioned, my Mum also had bleeding and spotting throughout 2 of her 5 pregnancies and each time she got some, she thought that was it.

My problem is that I'm such a worrier, any slight show of blood panics me. But I'm still not getting any pain at all (other than this morning which I think turned out to be my IBS.... ).

So in longwinded answer BSL, I don't know...

xx

FlirtyThirty · 30/07/2008 10:21

Dawn - Get thee to the EPU! I just feel that you are still PG...and I don't want you to have all this worry and stress and sadness if it's all ok... Please. x

bluestarlavender · 30/07/2008 10:29

Well said Flirty!! Dawn, I have a feeling you're still PG too!!

I read lots of threads yesterday (bored at work!!) and there does seem to be lots of people who bleed and go on to be fine.

Some people bleed a bit at AF time throughout their PG. They don't even realise they are PG til the bump appears, or they feel a kick!!

Question for anyone who might know...what's the name and author of that book about fertility that's supposed to be really good...?

I thought it was 'Taking Charge of your Fertility', but I can't find it for sale on Amazon...

bb - good on you, girl! Obviously I can't take all the credit, but I'd like to think it's because I am in SE London with my babydust, which I sprinkled liberally for you yesterday

Whereabouts are you, by the way? I'm in Lee.

DawnAS · 30/07/2008 14:32

Has anyone heard anything from Mandy yet? I hope she's Ok!!

I will go and have a scan next week. Bleeding seems to have all-but stopped and I think it was a lot less than I think. My CM is very heavy (all the time) and even one spot of blood will colour it quite a bit because there's so much of it. So I'm keeping everything crossed that it's just my body settling down.

So, I'm going to do another PG test on Monday (as recommended by the doc) and if it's +ive, I will ask for a scan anyway to check that everything still looks Ok and if it comes back as -ive , I will go and make sure that there's no other problems.

That sounds good and realistic Dawn. Glad you are sounding a little less . Like the others have said, it does still sound like there's some hope. Thinking of you.

MJIM - your little boy is a sweetie
how old is he?

Got my chest freezer today and that's all I have to report. Symptoms have settled down now I guess, as I feel kind of 'normal' again. I even had a moment of self-doubt as I was driving past the chemist today and wondered if if I should buy another test to make sure it was still +ive - anyone felt like that in the early days? When you run out of symtpoms are wonder if you dreamt it all?

Time for a stats update?
