Dawn - I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time, but I agree with everyone that you should go for the scan!! I'm confused because it really doesn't sound like a MC.

Mandy - you okay??

Mandy73 · 29/07/2008 11:00

Dawn I'm so sorry. Still I really urge you to go for the scan if nothing else to make sure you are OK internally. I know this is all very difficult. xx

Bellie ((hugs))

Many thanks girls for kind words & thoughts, it really means a lot. GP just rang to check on me, she's been great & arranged a scan for me at the early pregnancy centre at 9.30am tomorrow. I'm still having some brown stringy CM (sorry) but no pain really.

I hope everyone's OK. xx

Mandy - You seem okay and positive!! I have my fingers crossed for you!! Let us know how the scan tomorrow goes!

xx

Mandy73 · 29/07/2008 11:12

Many thanks Bluestar. I'm not v positive (massive cry last night) but trying to be realistic & level headed as is GP (not wishing to give false hope I suppose but she understands me wanting to know what's going on asap - which I really appreciate).

I think at my age it's not 1 in 5 PGs ending in MC any more but sadly more like 1 in 3 or more. I've always been aware of that back of my mind. We shall see. xx

Mandy,

You are being really brave!! I honestly think that brown CM is okay. I know I've never been through what you are going through, but there's so much info on this site. Everyone seems to be saying brown CM is okay, red bleeding is more worrying, but if you've got no cramps and it's not very heavy...all could be fine!!

FlirtyThirty · 29/07/2008 11:47

Dear Mandy,

Cyber hugs! As BSL says you're sounding very brave and together...even if inside your crumbling and scared. I'm pleased that you have an EPU appointment - I think that it's important that GPS clarify things for people quickly as I know for me the not-knowing would be totally debilitating. I will be thinking positive thoughts for you and your hubby! Let us know how it goes tomorrow and take good care of yourself til then...

Love Flirty x

Just a really quick one for Dawn, as have to dash off to work lunch. Please have the scan. I hate to tell you what to do, as we all need different things, but I don't think you've mentioned having any cramping, and it really is worth checking for your own safety, hon. Best to be sure you are OK and at no risk of infection, so that if the worst is the case then there will be no risk for future pregnancies. Please let us know what you decide to do - we're worried about you...

xx

And mandy, all crossed for you too - glad your GP is cooperting .

HumphreysCorner · 29/07/2008 13:31

Mandy-good luck for your scan tomorrow. So difficult to remain positive.

Dawn-any more news?

Have just cut the grass and think I might have caught the sun a bit. Was in such a rush to get on with it that I forgot the sun lotion. Couldn't get the strimmer started and have pulled every muscle I have whilst trying.

Laters.

Dawn, I am so sorry to hear you have lost hope, but absolutely agree with the other ladies, you MUST have a scan. It may not be the bad news you think, but if it is bad news, some things need to be ruled out, like ectopic or making sure everything has passed. I speak from experience. I had a missed miscarriage between my boys and although the miscarriage started naturally, not everything passed and the risk of infection (and ultimately, losing my uterus) was very high, so I needed and emergency D&C. I am very grateful for the hospitals quick reactions, however upset and scared I was. Sending lots of love & hugs your way.

Mandy, good luck for tomorrow, I have everything crossed for you.

Waves at everyone else!

DawnAS · 29/07/2008 14:42

Hi All,

I thought I'd quickly just drop back in and give you an update.

I spoke to the Doctor over the phone this morning who said that it was probably a miscarriage but that the scan wasn't a medical necessity, but that if I changed my mind I could have one. What she did say is that I should keep an eye on things and if the bleeding gets heavier and the cramps get very painful to call her.

She also suggested doing another test next Monday. If it comes up negative, then she may need to send me for a scan for the reasons that you've all mentioned, particularly if I don't lose much blood. So either way, it looks like I may get the scan.

Anyway, going back to wallowing now. Thanks for all your support ladies.

Mandy and Bellie, I hope that you guys are both Ok. Good luck with the scan tomorrow Mandy.

Dawn - it's good to hear from you!! I'm really sorry for you and what you are having to go through! But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for Monday xx

Bellie · 29/07/2008 17:14

Dawn, I appreciate that you may not want to face having a scan at this time, but as others have said, it could be ectopic, or could lead to an infection that will give rise to future problems. Please (very pretty) please will you go. It may even be good news xx

Have spoken to the midwife today as have had more gunk again - she did not seem concerned as it was black/brown which indicates old - and she said that implantation (of placenta) can happen up to 13 weeks, so there could still be some old stuff being dislodged (am 13+5 today). She said I could contact the epu if I was worried, think if I get any more I will - already had 3 scans with this beanie though alread

Mandy thinking of you tomorrow xx

BB - have as good night

HC - you are always in the garden working - do you every sit and relax??

hope everyone else is ok

xx

bluestarlavender · 29/07/2008 17:20

Bellie - glad to hear things are okay with your beanie! But I don't think lots of scans early on is a bad thing, esp. if it'll set your mind at rest!!

BSL x

daisyj · 29/07/2008 17:59

bellie - good news . But like BSL says, if you need more reassurance, don't hesitate to ask for another scan.

Cat perked up a bit before 9.00, so decided to leave the vet till tomorrow, when DH can take him in the hire car that will be delivered in the morning. Hope he hasn't expired when I get home - otherwise I'll be totally

Evening all

Have been out of the office all day so only managed to catch up now DS is in bed.

Dawn - so sorry about what you are going through I know the others have said it already but I really do think you should go for a scan. I had a lot of bleeding with DS pretty much constantly from the word go - heavy and bright red - both me and DH just took the view that 'what will be will be' so I didn't go to the doctors or anything for a while (didn't realise the health risks of not doing). Anyway my friend persuaded me to go to the doctors which I did in the end, went for a scan at the EPU and was told I had a healthy bean which is now a 2-year old devil gorgeous little boy - not trying to give you false hope but just trying to say that a scan needn't be bad news even if the signs aren't good.

Bellie/Mandy - hope you are both ok aswell

MJIM - am also worried about Willmouse but I guess she has other things on her mind and she was talking of stopping TTC wasn't she? Bumpy bumps freak me out I'm afraid although I am sure yours is lovely I was fortunate with DS that he never stuck his arm or leg out or anything - just wriggled a lot - as it really does freak me out!!! This one seems to be a wriggler aswell - particularly early evening which is when DS was at his most active aswell - now if this one turns out to be even half as good a sleeper as DS was aswell this will be me !!

Hi to everyone else - have tried to keep up but it is getting harder - particularly when work insist on sending me to our other office which is a 90-minute drive away and no internet access - grrr!! Am going to have to put a stop to the travelling soon I think but I feel a bit pathetic using my pg as an excuse.

Thank you girls. Very heart warming. You are all lovely. Going to bed with a much lighter mind and thinking, like you said Ceebee, 'what will be will be'.

Was also wondering about Willmouse. I suppose we all go through ebbs and flows of wanting/needing to be on the forum.

Feeling so sorry for you Dawn, sounds like you're going through an awful time. Please stay here if you feel you want to.

Will update on scan asap tomorrow lunchtime.

xx
