Well, I'd like to start this thread by saying a BIG FAT CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has managed to get their BFP so far, and an equally huge dollop of luck to all those of us waiting for our BFP's!

OMG OMG!! You certainly had us all on the edge of your seats, Congrats GYo and Congrats to Glask too . So pleased for you. wow! Such a lucky thread! Is there a record on MN?? We must surely be contenders!

Babytime - agree with the others in that you should test again tomorrow, or maybe even later
today. Have my fingers crossed for you.

Star - tell your mum!! Why not?? I would if it was me!

Cals so sorry for your BFN this morning, but all is not yet lost! Still no AF - I haven't been late since I came off the pill before Christmas, have had regular 30/31 day ccyles and this is day 32 (isn't it??). NOT NOT NOT going to test today just in case you're reading this NJ! Will test tomorrow maybe possibly.... if period hasn't arrived!

kookykid · 11/07/2008 09:01

GYo - there's no doubting that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tinkhasagorgeousbean · 11/07/2008 09:01

that is a very good bfp yah

i am waiting for my nuchal blood results should get a letter in post by today hopefully. neck measurment was 1.5mm which is great
then will get other blood results next week had to do 3 viles of blood
i have my next midwife appointment on the 7th of aug in aft. have managed to swap back to the midwife that i had with dd1 she is lovely. the midwife that i was put with was a newly qualified one and abit vague also had a bad stammer which i found abit embarrasing.

calsworld · 11/07/2008 09:02

GYo - that's fab, am very pleased - my DS was first bonk practically - DH was gutted.

I think he's secretly very pleased its taking a bit longer this time around although I do try to tell him quality, not quantity its just not how men's brains work is it !

Teuch, good to hear from you (oh wise one), I hate it when AF plays games, it would be nice if she could just ruddy well turn up at the same time so I know where I am...

OP posts:
GYo · 11/07/2008 09:05

OOh is that strong result then? (not done it before!)

I think I O'd on 26th June (judging by vol of EWCM. So that makes me 15DPO today.

I am praying it sticks now.....

symptoms that I had

dpo 3/4/5 lower back ache
dpo 8 to 10 ish - feeling very hot in strange places
dpo 13/14/15 mild nausea and odd. Light headed.

kookykid · 11/07/2008 09:08

Got to go to Tesco but back later.

glaskham · 11/07/2008 09:09

wow!! you're strong to have held on till the day after AF due!!! I wish i had that sort of strength!!

Bit gutted as i phoned Dh to tell him and he was too busy reminding me of the positives that i got last cycle!! cant we just be happy its a positive at least, no matter how faint???

calsworld · 11/07/2008 09:09

Great piccy GYo! In fact, that's one of the clearest BFP's I've seen

KK today is indeed CD32! so am expecting to run to the loo several times today to check for AF! LOL.

If AF doesn't arrive today I'll pick up some FR on the way home and test tomorrow on Sunday to give hcg plenty of time to increase, all provided no AF of course!

OP posts:
calsworld · 11/07/2008 09:15

aaaah its all moving too fast and I can't keep up!

GYo, I'm sure everything will be fine.

KK, will you get me some milk, yoghurts and FR's whilst you're there?

Glaskham, I'm sure he is pleased, could it be that he is trying to protect you from being disappointed?

Playingthe9monthwait · 11/07/2008 09:17

Morning all,

CONGRATULATIONS GYO . Thats a lovely strong positive, mine were nice and strong like that which is great cos it leaves you in no doubt over the result! Mind you, I was still sad enough to have to use a different brand as well just in case it was a "faulty" Batch.

Glask - sounds promosing, only concern would be if it was read after the time limit, still its a very good sign.

Heebeejeebee · 11/07/2008 09:19

GYo - congratulations! That is amazingly clear!!!!

I've got everything crossed for everyone else.

DH's birthday today but he's asked me to cancel the restaurant I'd booked as I had the beginnings of EWCM yesterday (despite monitor still saying low this morning)

glaskham · 11/07/2008 09:22

yeah i suppose it could be just to protect me.... though i'm just chuffed to see any sort of line there- gives me more hope!!and seeing as we GOFed at least once a day from cd8-cd20 means we shouldn't have missed it at all!!

Its peeing it down and sister cant babysit so have ordered some tests online.... so will have to wait till monday at the earliest to test again!!! Hopefully if this is a correct bfp then enough hgc would have built up for a stronger line by then, and AF is due on monday...so i'll know either way by then!!

glaskham · 11/07/2008 09:23

happy birthday to your DH HBJB!! Your honestly cancelling the restaraunt to GOF??? cant you do it afterwards??

calsworld · 11/07/2008 09:26

glask - where did you order from? I've ordered from accessdiagnostics with 5% discount three times now (not all tests ) on Friday afternoon and its arrived in the post on Saturday!

OP posts:
GYo · 11/07/2008 09:30

Phew- I've persuaded DH to come to my office at lunchtime and meet me for lunch. Dont think he will be suspect, since he emailed me to say he was bored so I suggested it...

How did you guys tell your respective DPs/DHs?

Happy Bday to your DH HBJB - Im glad you are taking GOFing seriously!

glaskham · 11/07/2008 09:32

just off ebay.... hoping they do post them today and they arrive tomorrow, but wont get my hopes up!!

DH said if i miss AF then we'll go and get FR on tuesday. With having to pay for the car he's worried about spending money on tests now when...

glaskham · 11/07/2008 09:34

pressed enter before i'd finished then!!

meant to say when it could just be evap line and AF arrives on monday.... he's too sensible but i suppose it makes sence!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 11/07/2008 09:35

Mine was with me when I tested (wel actually ironing his shirt). Got up at 6am when he got up as I was desperate for the loo and pee'd in a little pot, brought it back in the bedroom, fumbled for tests (still half asleep) dipped in and got BFP almost immediately. Got out of bed and stood staring at it, DH came in also looked, he then made me do another one just to make sure. That was pos too so he stood there grinning like a loon for a couple of seconds, then the smile left his face and he said "I thought you told me it would probably take 6 months or maybe longer, I was looking forward to months of plentiful sex!". Men.

glaskham · 11/07/2008 09:39

Well i gather OH knows you were ttc???.... thats much easier- he'll kinda know to expect it at some point, i'd just blurt it out!!

With DS we weren't trying and i was on the pill, it was a couple of days before payday, and only he had some money left, so i needed to ask him to lend some to get a test.... i'd been sick for about 4 days beforehand with sickness, and i just had to tell him!! spent the whole day texting a friend for reasons why i'd need to lend a tenner!! but in the end i told him in the middle of gamestation that i might be pregnant!!! was a complete shock for him!!

LOL yes DH knew about TTC. But neither of us thought it would happen this quick.

glaskham · 11/07/2008 09:46

I gathered so!! Just you do hear of women trying and DP/H's being unaware!!- thought i'd double check!!

Maybe just give him the test- though in my experience it'd have to actually sat 'pregnant' for them to understand it!!

glaskham · 11/07/2008 09:47

oh i so wanna add myself to the list as pg but will not tempt fate till i've missed AF and got a true strong BFP....

GYo · 11/07/2008 09:48

LOL good idea

Think he might be shocked as although I've been having odd symptoms I kept telling him that there was no way. Even in the last couple of days when i thought it was more likely.... I didnt mention it to him...

Cant wait to see his face...

Diege · 11/07/2008 09:50

Morning! Many congratulations GYO, that's wonderful news . Did you do the test at work? [confused emoticon]And a tentative congrats to Glaskham too . Can I ask if it was one of the tests I sent you? I so I can say from vast experience with that brand that if you're not pregnant no sort of line ever seems to appear, not even an evaporation one after many hours. My first inkling that I was pregnant this time was when I saw a fainbt line after about 30 min, v.faint but with pink colour, that certainly wasn't there after 10, so it's looking good!
BABYLOVE: welcome to the theread . I would wait 48 hours before testing again I think as that's when you're supposed to see doubling of hcg if pregnant I think? Good luck .
POP, briefly scanned through thread, and I'm sure you will be fine after your fall. I had the same with dd3 at 10 weeks, though straight onto my front - had lots of cramping too, but thing it was just my ligamants re-setting themselves as all was fine . Good luck with your scan!
Sorry for my unauthorised leave yesterday. My mum was over and I had my booking in appointment too. I did end up telling my mum (my bump seemed to be particularly noticeable, and when I announced it she said that she thought I was, but didn;t like to say in case it was just fat (well it is really if I'm honest - glad to hear the flab firms up soon Tinks!)She was, if anything underwhelmed, but much preferable to what I'd imagined .
Booking in underwhelming too, but pleased that I'm under midwife led care this time and not consultant. As I'm not having screening tests for Downs etc there's no real need for Consultant care etc, which I'm pleased about as it means not dragging myself up to the hossie every few weeks for checks.
Hi Sorky! Happy 9 weeks today for both of us Good to hear from you, but awful that you're feeling so poorly . I know it may not be your thing, but have you thought about anti-emetics? Saved my life with dds (stemitol). Might be worth having a talk with GP? Still can't believe my luck mikssing it entirely this time round. I'm sure you'll start to feel more postive about the pregnancy when the sickness stops - I remember thinking some awful things when in the throes of hyperemesis.
Right, better pay some attention to dd3!
