Cockenzie
I'm an American married to a native Edinburgher and living in Edinburgh (probably for good; Scotland is home). Have one daughter, Aillidh, who is 19 months. I'm nearly 34. Dh, however, is 27.

fresco · 03/02/2005 08:22

ailidh - sounds nice, lovely name for i am sure a lovely little girl.how do you like it in edinburgh?

ernest · 03/02/2005 08:33

ln, How long/when was she taking clomid? Persona says it's not to be used if your cycles are outside the 23-35 day length & are bredastfeeding/ taking any kind of hormone - imbalancing drugs, & can't be used till 3 cycles after stopping. I reckon chlomid must come under this catagory, so it won't work I would've thought.

I'm also having probs with light periods. My recent research says the 4 main culprits are - pregnancy - I guess that's not the case for her, not for me either unfortunately. Thyroid problems, early menopause & alcohol. Maybe she needs to go to doc & get thyroid checked & try giving up booze if she drinks?

Ok my stats, this is depressing doing again cos you see time marching on...
ttc number 4 ( sounds crazy. must be mad)
ttc 4 months
age 34
dh age 34
cycle 4 or 5
cd 15
DPO still waiting
Stopped minipill Oct
using persona for OV. Cycle normally 25 days. Persona telling me OV day 18, so luteal phase much too short. Going to gynae next Thursday. Fingers crossed.

sparkly · 03/02/2005 08:44

Wow - I now feel old compared to some of you!

I'm 34, DP 27 (much like expatinscotland!)
DD1 is 5 but with my ex
Years of infertility treatment prior to getting pg with her - which happened without any intervention.
Month 2 of TTC - CD20 of 30 day cycle (going on last month only)

Thankfully we're away this weekend so I won't be worrying about testing but will probably test 9 Feb which apparently is earliest a test would work! Get back from Barcelona Wednesday, test Thursday .... hopefully it will be a BFP. Have no reason not to feel positive - BD'd at the right times so fingers crossed this is our month!!!

Am away from tomorrow morning so good luck to anyone who is testing soon!!

jessicasmummy · 03/02/2005 08:48

im considering giving up after last nights row with dh!

OP posts:
munnzieb · 03/02/2005 08:55

linny leading on from ES - she would of course be welcom on this thread as well.

JM - It will blow over hon. Stick with him!

Cockenzie - glad ur new Dr seems to have his finger out! hopefully we'll be having some BFP's from this thread!

jessicasmummy · 03/02/2005 09:00

ok ok.... just because we had a row didnt mean we didnt babydance!!! I felt awful but i cant waste opportunities and because of this he thinks he is back in the good books!

OP posts:
ernest · 03/02/2005 09:05

hey sparkly, I'm 34 so no more talk of being old please,

munnzieb · 03/02/2005 09:14

well, neither of u two are the oldest (i'm sure they won't mind me telling u..... gather close girls, cos I'm only gonna whisper this once........ Hester/Jedds are in their 40's) but SHHSHHHHHHHH! (well at least v late 30's.)

Nikkichik · 03/02/2005 09:38

I'm 38! Will add stats later when I've a bit more time. Think I will make an appointment to see the doc for a chat and see what happens - as you all say, it's better to get it over with.

fresco · 03/02/2005 10:27

OI! us in our thirties are the best!! i am not 35, 36 on the 15th so no more of this 'they are too old!!'. 30s is the best decade... heheh...especially for babies

Hulababy · 03/02/2005 10:56

Morning all. CD7 here o all quiet still. How is everyone?

Still feeling pretty out of it with this flu virus, but hoping to feel a bit brighter (and without the aid of drugs) for tomorrow night's ball. Fingers crossed for me!

fresco · 03/02/2005 11:17

a ball hulababy?

Hulababy · 03/02/2005 11:32

Yes Get to wear my posh frock. Even if I feel rubbish, at least I can try and look alright, if not fab! Missed having my hair done yesterday in preparation, as felt way too bad to go. But at least I did get my eyebrows waxed last week so they are good!

fresco · 03/02/2005 11:41

well i wish you all the fun you can get.should be nice!! what kind of ball is it? didnt know people still throw balls around.(maybe except in the army or posh circles?)

Hulababy · 03/02/2005 11:45

It's the Law Society ball. Dh is a solicitor, so we get to go to a couple a year generally. It's generally great fun as we are friends with lots of the other solictors and barristers there, and sometimes have taken our own guests. DH's ticket is free but mine isn't sady but once there it's a massive meal with free champagne to start, wine all night, and after dinner drinks. Then there are 3 speeches (which vary in quality!) and then dancing all night - just like a normal band/disco. Desperatly hoping I am feeling a bit better.

fresco · 03/02/2005 11:45

is there anyone from pakistanese/india/bangladesh on this thread?

Bella23 · 03/02/2005 11:50

OOH Hulababy - ball sounds fab, hope you feel better for it.
Morning everyone - how are we all?

munnzieb · 03/02/2005 18:08

hope you have a nice time tonight hula, and let ur hair down.

we#re v quiet on here today!. i'm really fed up at the mo as the dog's have ripped a big hole in the bed I was trying to sell, (so I have told the woman she can just have it - I can't very well expect her to pay for it now can I?) it wasn't for a lot, but that's not the point, (How do I train my dogs better?? - also as well, they don't like children touching their toys... how do I stop that, In fact i'm gonna start a thread I think!)

fresco · 03/02/2005 18:42

is everyone beding just now?

geordie · 03/02/2005 20:04

sending you all babydust on your new thread!!

Had scan and all is well!! Just gotta wait for the 20wk one now!!

Lets hope that this thread is VV lucky

Hulababy · 03/02/2005 20:05
