Here we go again ladies!!!

OP posts:
mummygow · 02/02/2005 19:48

Only since the 17th Jan. My dh always said that we would try when dd was 2 but that was in July and it came and went. But dd was going to be 2yrs and 6mnths on 22 Jan and we just thought if we dont make the decision just now dd would soon be going to school. So I am so excited and anxiouse as I dont want a big age gap between them and I think now that we have made the decision I am being unpatient.

Sorry to go on Elf1981, what about you when did you start trying again sorry if you have already said but finding it difficult to work out everyones circumstances, but i'm sure i will get there.

munnzieb · 02/02/2005 19:48

lol, honey help ur self! lol. i'm off for a nice long aosk in the bath - now I actually have hot water again! YAY DHE!!

Elf1981 · 02/02/2005 19:50

I was introduced to mumsnet via ebay - I brought the "mums on pregnancy" book, and thought I'd check out the site.
I'm so glad I did. DH has gone out, I feel in my bones that I am not pg this month, and hope off loading my frustration (as if why does everybody else get pg at the drop of a hat!) into the wide web may prove to be very threaputic.
As opposed to putting my dressing gown on, sobbing while I watch Eastenders (even Zoey is pregnant!) and eating choccie biccies!!

jessicasmummy · 02/02/2005 19:51

Nowt wrong with choccie biccies!!!!

OP posts:
munnzieb · 02/02/2005 19:54

exactly JM! infact i'm gonna sit in the bath, (with extra bubbles) and eat a whole bar of choc all to myself! and read a book, I would have a glass on wine, but I don't want to open 2L just for one glass for me. You know I bought a milk choc bar (it says milk choc on the wrapper, and.... and... inside it's plain choch do u believe it!!!

Elf1981 · 02/02/2005 19:54

I know what you mean about finding out others circumstances!
I don't mind being asked anyway!

We started TTC in October. I came off the pill at the end of September, so didn't really expect anything to happen in Oct due to the pill. I'd not been on it ages, only a year, as I'd only gone back on it before the wedding, to make sure didn't get pecky monthly on honeymoon!
Nothing happened in November, but leading up to Dec time, I was sick all the time, I felt achy and oh so tired. I had the flu, but read everything into it!

Was late in Jan (another false alarm) so am trying not to get too hopeful.

I know there are people who have been TTC longer than me etc, but it seems everybody I know (in real life) gets pregnant at the drop of a hat!!
Never realised how upsetting it could be. But feeling more optimisitc, have decided that if not pg this month, might invest in ovulation sticks, as I could be missing my ov date.

mummygow · 02/02/2005 19:55

Sorry Elf is this your first time trying - it took me 8 months the first time and I cried every month but my Dr told me that if you become pregnant in the first year of trying you are very lucky

Elf1981 · 02/02/2005 20:01

I'm trying to be all chilled out and stuff. I've been run down at work, though things seem to be looking up, so that's a good thing. DH paid for me to go to a health spa next month (very excited), am having 1 1/2 massage, and a hour facial. Lots of swimming pools and saunas etc, so am hoping if not pg this month, will be all chilled out after trip to spa, and maybe wont spend the rest of the month thinking "is this the time I will get pg"?
Dunno if it will work or not!

Hulababy · 02/02/2005 20:04

Well, DD is now in bed (late, and still awake!) and Dh is out at the gym. Have had something to eat and some more tablets, so having some brighter time again, hence on here for a bit.

Seems there are quite a few new people around on this thread and the last. Do you think it might be time to do a recap of stats?

expatinscotland · 02/02/2005 22:38

Linny
Tell your sis to peruse the TTC boards on webmed.com. They're an absolute wealth of advice and very friendly and supportive of new members the world over. Failure to ovulate can be caused by MANY things, from premature menopause to thyroid conditions. Your sister needs a referral to see a reproductive endocrinologist, a doctor who specialises in complex fertility issues (for both men and women). Chlomid can cause women to ovulate, but it can also kill off the cervical mucus needed for sperm to live to make it into the Fallopian tubes. A lot of women drink green tea and take Benelyn (NO decongestant) to improve their cervical mucus when using Chlomid.

What she needs now is a lot of support from women in the same situation. Tell her to give the boards a look if she fancies. Good luck!
