Thanks for that Lottie. I will mention it when I visit the ERI, this is pretty much a deciding factor for us.
That sounds a good idea, getting out for a chat. Hope it is a bit less soggy tomorrow than today.

mowmi · 13/12/2008 22:14

LL please don't get hung up on the tests - i know exactly how you feel because i did it last time! my clinic told me that if i decide to a pee test rather than a blood test they will want me to do one two days later as well if it says negative. I was reading something about how it can take up to 10 days for implantation to take place and hcg wont start to be produced until this has happened and can be in only tiny amounts at first so testing early is pointless! Please hang in there!
RB they can do 3 in UK if you are 40+ and your consultant thinks there is a case for it so push, push, push!
Alexandra to win!

Thank you Mowmi. We have recorded X-Factor so are just about to watch the show now. How exciting! We seem to have a backlog of things to watch, still have a 'Heroes' to watch.
Did anyone see that new series with Kenneth Brannagh?

Hi this is wonderful! I really like to read all of your experiences...it gives me positive motivations. I am 35 and I had a ectopic preg. and miscarried it a year and half ago. My doc says since I got ectopic pregnancy my tube may got defected. My hubby has very good sperm count so no prob in his side. so my doc suggested me to get a IVF.

last month I have tried IVF and I had 9 good eggs but only fertilized 1 excellently, thought I will definitely get preggo but was negative result, I am going to try again in January ..I do not drink alcohol much maybe once in a month (2 glasses of wine) and drink coffee once a week.
I do not really know what's gone wrong with me? why its so difficult to get preggo? when I was 20's I got pregnant but I had abortion twice volanterily. please give me some advice or if you have any opinions...love you all..

rowingboat · 14/12/2008 00:30

The Kenneth Brannagh thing is quite a funny one, it's on tomorrow at 9pm on BBC1. The series is called 'Wallender' and tomorrow's is part two of a two part series.
He plays a police detective in Sweden, but everyone speaks English. There is another Swedish version on BBC4, with the same name, but everyone speaks Swedish and I don't know if KB is in that one.
I hope somebody can explain this better than me.
Stay away from the tests!!

rowingboat · 14/12/2008 00:35

Hi Rosayy good luck with the next cycle. I haven't even started yet, so can't really offer any advice.
I had a termination when I was 27 after a condom ripped. I don't think it does anything good for your insides. It's ironic really, because now I am trying for a baby I'm sure it has affected my chances of conceiving by causing scarring.

flibbertywidget · 14/12/2008 12:17

Morning ladies
LOTTIE [shouting in a cross voice], I agree with rowingboat, there is no point testing now, the hormones wont have built up enough. The "officials" say the very minimum is 7-10 days after blastocyst or implantation, which is easily next week at the earliest.. Yes you need to be prepared for all eventualities, but there is no point wrecking your head.

mowmi - wow it really will be a busy week for us all before christmas.

RB i think you can get more put in over here if you are over 40, I think they will put 3 back. but I can't be sure. So many clinics and so many different policies. You have to become a blooming expert in fertility before you even start

yay to alexandra winning yesterday, althought i thought her drama at the win was a little OTT. but she definitely deserved it. thought beyonce was awesome, much better than Britney a couple of weeks ago. I actually hate reality TV, but I love xfactor, as I love singing too and think its fab. Have to say I was too lazy to turn channels and watched girls aloud and thought they were really good too and I am not into that kinda music at all.

My ulcers are finally going and so is my cold. I can actually taste things today. And my LO is finally sleeping through the night again.

I am symptom spotting like mad at the moment and am driving myself crazy. I have tingling boobs and lots of nausea yesterday and this morning. I have also turned into an emotional wreck. But I am also a pragmatist and realise that this is all probably the hormones I am pumping into my body. Trying not to have my brain fool my body.

Mowmi - I didn;t realise that Zita did a relaxation tape too. I have the natal hypnotherapy ones and found them a god send throughout my first pregnancy. I haven;t gotten into Zita as much as others have. I have her book, but felt much of it didn't apply to me as I don't have any ovaries and didn't need to get that bit working again.

Anyway. I am off, gotta take the dog for a walk around a very wet and muddy field. If only someone could invent some fur protectors so that she didn't get muddy!

take care all - remember NO EARLY TESTING LADIES

hugs xxxx

Oh Lottie- are you still using the progesterone supps? Your period should not surely start til you stop using them??

nomoremagnolia · 14/12/2008 19:07

LL don't know how much this helps (or otherwise) but I started bleeding before finishing the progesterone, phoned the clinic and they told me to carry on with the progesterone anyway just in case (anally if vaginally was too icky) Really hope it's not bad news

nomoremagnolia · 14/12/2008 19:10

ps it was 4 days before I was due to test but 14 dpEC / 11 dpET

Really hoping and praying for a good outcome. It could be (clutching at straws) that one has stuck and one hasn't, I asked about this at my initial consultation and there can be a bit of bleeding if one doesn't stick but the other one can hang on so don't lose heart. I know it's probably a very tiny number of people that this happens to but there's nothing to say that you're not one of them. Has the bleeding got any worse/better as the day's gone on?

You're not the one who just typed 'icky'!
Fingers crossed for you.

mummy2olivia · 14/12/2008 20:03

Lottie- have thought of a good name change for you- NOMORERUMMAGING!! If your cervix is tender you may be making it bleed?

clutching at straws....

nomoremagnolia · 14/12/2008 20:04

LL I agree with M2O, stop making it worse by rummaging!
Hi M2O how are you? Haven't seen you since you fell off the Nov thread

mummy2olivia · 14/12/2008 20:09

I'm ok- just had my lap and dye 2 weeks ago so just getting over that. The results looked ok from what me and the nurse in recovery could decipher

Hope you are ok nomore? Things have been pretty rough for you recently from what I can gather when is your lap and dye booked for? Its really not that bad- I was back to work after a week.

I dropped off the November thread when the consultant told me to stay on the pill for 1 more month but am off it now and TTC again....

Watch this space

What have you been up to?

9sorry for hijacking Lottie- me and nomore often bump into eachother and hijack)

nomoremagnolia · 14/12/2008 20:15

Back to work after a week??? What have I agreed to? Thought it was a one day thing? Help! Haven't heard when it will be - was told in Sept (when I didn't take up the offer of L&D) that it was approx 2/3 months wait, so if it's 2/3 months from ep it'll be the end of Jan or sometime in Feb. Think everything is back to normal cycle-wise, though will have to wait for next period (due xmas eve) to be sure. Going to wait a couple of months after L&D to see if it helps sping clean my tubes before going for another round of IVF probably around May. Seems ages away...

mummy2olivia · 14/12/2008 20:19

They put a camera in your tummy! You won't be up to work the next day! I prob could have gone back after 5 days but the consultant signed me off for a week. You will feel quite sore afterwards- just take it easy.

I know this sounds awful, but do you kind of hope that they find something wrong when you have the lap? At least you will have a reason for FTC. I feel at a bit of a loose end since the results of mine were ok.

nomoremagnolia · 14/12/2008 20:27

I'm not sure - the IVF consultant who first offered me a L&D post IVF (in Sept) but he said either my tubes were either blocked or not but either way the only way forward was IVF as if blocked then we'd have diagnosis but would still need IVF to get pg or if they weren't blocked then it would be unexplained infertility (3 years ttc) so it would be IVF anyway. He did say I could be a little bit blocked and L&D might help but he thought that only a small possiblity. Now I've had the ep it's more likely that tubes are a 'bit blocked' and it might help. Who knows?

mummy2olivia · 14/12/2008 20:30

I hope it helps you- I've heard that it does for a lot of ladies. fingers crossed for you x
