TTC Baby #3 Not our first rodeo 🤠

I thought I’d start a thread for those TTC baby number 3 (and beyond, feel free to join!) It would be nice to share experiences. I feel like where I’m from 3 is the new 2 😅 but I’ve always felt like I wanted a bigger family anyway (I am 1 of 4!)

For background, DD1 has just turned 6 and DD2 has just turned 4. I’m on cycle #2, AF due in a couple of days but I’m testing BFN so roll on cycle #3. I was really hoping to catch before November so baby would only be 4 school years behind DD2 🙈 but what will be will be!

DD1 took 15 cycles

DD2 took 1 cycle

Anyone else??? X

@MamaO88 the line look progressive to me, especially on T3 which is encouraging. Sorry it's at a triggering time x

I'm doing much better thank you. My child has completely recovered. The severe nausea was I was experiencing has significantly calmed down. No complaints, things are much better.

The reality still hasn't quite set in but I'm feeling less anxious and more positive about the prospects of a 3rd. I've received a lot of pregnancy announcements recently, many having their first or second child. Seems like it's the season.

Total contrast from how I felt a week ago. My symptoms have diminished to the point that I no longer feel pregnant.

My rational brain knows this happens sometimes and that I should appreciate the respite. My irrational brain is leading me to pick up some more tests 😅

Oh @Outside9 there’s nothing worse! I would be doing exactly the same as you, it’s so hard to remain rational isn’t it?

I'm finding myself testing my boobs to make sure they’re still sore on a fairly frequent basis 😅this is definitely the longest period between the positive test and actually getting the next proper confirmation at scan point.

How is everyone else doing?

Nothing much happening here only CD9 still got between 8-10 days before O 😴

@mummatara if you ovulate on CD17-19, does that mean your cycles are typically longer? And do you test for ovulation closer to that time, or earlier just in case?

@MamaO88 absolutely right. As soon as I took a test yday, my rational brain took over again lol. Very easy to forget how early things are, I think technically I'm 5 weeks now.

Plus I've been doing tips to ease nausea (e.g. cracker before getting up, vitamin b6 etc) so who know maybe something actually works.

@Outside9 have heard from lots of people their symptoms disappear in 1st trimester totally normal! Could be the progesterone easing off whilst the HCG takes over? Glad your little one is better.

@MintRobin how are you doing? Any temptation to test soon or are you going to wait it out?

@mummatara ahh yes just waiting to O…the best part of the cycle as no obsessing but also boring 🤣

I have a question - do you could CD1 from spotting or a full bleed? I usually just start heavy straight away but on Saturday I was getting pink/light red when I wiped after weeing nothing actually coming out, put a pad in but nothing was on it all day. The proper flow started the next day. Should I could CD1 as the proper flow? In that case I’m CD8 not CD9 BUT…EWCM has started today! Wtf that’s super early.

@olivehush I usually count CD1 from the full bleeding. But I accept its just an estimation and not a science. Similarly with ovulation.

The peace and quiet now half term is over is exhilarating. I can actually think lol

@Outside9my LP is only 11 days so can make cycles seem a fairly normal length. Before last DS my cycles were around 31/32 days O was around day 20/21 🙄 since having him I seem to be ovulating a little earlier not much but a little so my cycles actually are around 28/29 days now. I usually start testing CD14. I’m glad when we first started trying I tracked everything and learnt when it was because I would have been dtd at totally the wrong time if I hadn’t 🤦🏼‍♀️

@olivehushthey usually say spotting isn’t counted as day 1 it’s from your full bleed. Wow I think those vitamins are doing their thing then looks like you could be O right on time about day 14 ish? I usually get 5/6 days of fertile CM though usually only EW in the couple of days around O

@olivehush doing OK thanks! Think I'm 9dpo today, but holding out on testing! Due AF by the weekend so will test Fri or Sat if nothing appears by then.

I also count from first day of bleeding; i usually spot the day before then bleed the following day and count that as CD1

Hi all! Back again, thanks for the advice! My LH surged again Saturday morning 😭 we BD 0230 on Saturday morning but that was our only chance! I must have failed ovulation during the first peak 🤦🏻‍♀️do you think I’m out? Sooo annoying!

Was this my true one or could it pick up super early pregnancy hormone (I read about this). I’m so annoyed because the first time we BD loads! 🤦🏻‍♀️

This was Saturday morn lh test and clear blue said it was negative!

@MamaO88 that looks like good progression to me - totally get feeling anxious though, it's so hard to have no control over how things go!

@olivehush i've had the same question about when to count as D1, and I think the usual advice is not to count the spotting, and just count d1 from when normal flow starts.

I just had my period start this morning so feeling quite deflated. Think I might just have to accept that it's too late for me but so hard to accept as got pregnant so quickly with my last one (which I miscarried) :(

LH peak indicates ovulation is about to occur over the next 12-36hours. So it's likely you did it at the right time.

Me again and very Confused!

I had ewcm and cramps day 13 of cycle, ewcm and cramps day 20 of my cycle - both had positive lh surges, I am now fay 25 and have more ewcm/ stretchy discharge but just a bit more of white in it and have a flashing clear blue smiley - any insight as to what on earth is going on😬 negative pregnancy test too!

@Daisy42016do you have any strip opks rather than clear blue? Clear blue are good but you have to be very specific about when you start them. You can’t just pick them up whenever and do a random test it won’t show a peak like that you have to start the day it tells you to and do them every day until you get your static. Or it just thinks you’re starting a new cycle. When did you start using them? Also have you had a feel of your cervix? How does it feel and is it far back or low down?

Thank you for replying! I started day 9 (got a positive day 13) and then continued again (at day 16) due to the continuing symptoms/ discharge! It came up a negative (solid circle) but the strip itself was 100% positive for an lh surge but I know it resets to a blank circle anyway when you start again, then continued to test and have had flashing smileys since 🤦🏻‍♀️ along with ewcm that’s really stretchy - so strange! I haven’t had this before

@Daisy42016do you normally track ovulation or is this first cycle? I take it you don’t bbt? The CB tests will think you have started a new cycle so they won’t now go static until you get another peak. When I used them and looked at the actual tests they were always darker than a standard opk test would have been I don’t think you can go off what the line looks like on them as reliable. I get quite watery fertile CM after O when I’ve been pregnant so that could be a possibility just too early. Even though the CM is EW is it clear or does it have a cloudy appearance?

Thank you! It’s so strange. I tried bbt but my sleep was that bad with my toddler it wasn’t reliable either 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think it was effecting my temperature readings being up and down all night! It’s was clear and stretchy the first time, clear and stretchy day 20 with maybe a wee tiny bit of white and now it’s clear and stretchy with a bit of whiteness too but not overly cloudy any of the times, the first round (at day 13) was the clearest though definitely x

Hi @Daisy42016 what a conundrum! Have you been poorly at all? Could be your geared up to O but didn’t actually. Or like others have said some people just get EWCM again in the TWW regardless! Hope you get some answers soon 🤔

@mummatara I think I will O tomorrow on CD14 however since I last posted (CD8) I’ve had just one bit of EWCM every morning since, but none throughout the day at all! Had a bit more this morning, but again nothing since. I can just tell it’s going to be a bit harder to pinpoint this month…think I’m going just go gung ho on DH until next week and hope I catch it on the right day 🫠 sigh

Isn’t it so weird! Just for an update I got a solid smiley this morning 🤣 so strange. Day 26 of cycle now! I’ll let you know. No idea what’s going on

@olivehush I am struggling a bit!

Nausea/sickness is kicking my butt and my boobs are sooooo sore. I most definitely did not have either of these this early with my other 2 children.

On the one hand I’m grateful for symptoms as it is reassuring and helps me with knowing everything must be progressing ok. On the other hand I am knackered and feel lousy haha

Early scan is next weekend, still feels so long away!

@olivehush yep, have held out! CD31 today - app predicting period tomorrow. Ovulated CD18 from the tests. Haven't tested, just been waiting to see if AF arrives! If nothing today, then will test in the morning but trying not to get my hopes up!
