I thought I’d start a thread for those TTC baby number 3 (and beyond, feel free to join!) It would be nice to share experiences. I feel like where I’m from 3 is the new 2 😅 but I’ve always felt like I wanted a bigger family anyway (I am 1 of 4!)

For background, DD1 has just turned 6 and DD2 has just turned 4. I’m on cycle #2, AF due in a couple of days but I’m testing BFN so roll on cycle #3. I was really hoping to catch before November so baby would only be 4 school years behind DD2 🙈 but what will be will be!

DD1 took 15 cycles

DD2 took 1 cycle

Anyone else??? X

Omgggggg @MamaO88 that’s clear as day! You must be thrilled! Looking like this is a lucky thread! Keep us posted with your next tests!

Lovely line progression there @mummatara keep us posted!

Welcome @OliveRose2 sorry to hear about your MC. I know a lot of people locally who are heading towards 40 and are pregnant/recently had babies so you’re definitely still in with a good chance! How old are your 2 DCs?

Hiya @justkeepswimming2701 a few of us on here with 2 DDs 😆 DH is desperate for a boy but will be happy with a healthy baby of course. Hope this TWW goes quickly for you.

Caved and tested this morning 7dpo 🙈 whyyyyy. BFN of course. Hasn’t dampened my mood as I know it’s too early. I guess I thought on the off chance I was a day out calculating O orrrr one of those rare ones that got a super early BFP haha. Back to the craziness of school runs tomorrow though so that should distract me from testing in the morning!

Also @MamaO88 the dog knew!!! Haha

Hahaha seems he definitely did!

Will test again in the morning on a clear blue and see how that compares

OliveRose2 · 19/10/2025 21:39

Thanks @MintRobin, yeah I'd never had a miscarriage before, and was quite shocked at how brutal and traumatic it was. The things we go through! I'm on D8 of this cycle now.

@olivehush i've got a 21 month old boy and a 4yr old girl (who keeps asking when she's getting a sister!) Good luck for when you test again, I always find it impossible not to test early as well!

mummatara · 20/10/2025 06:58

@OliveRose2sorry about your MC they really really suck. I’m 40 in a couple of weeks and it def doesn’t fill you with confidence but then I always think there are plenty of people that have babies much older than 40! We’ve given ourselves a year I said if we don’t get a sticky one in that time then we’ll have to be content with our 2 DS

@justkeepswimming2701welcome and good luck for the TWW

@olivehushoh no 🙈 like you say school run this morning will keep you nice and busy! No judgement here I have def tested super early before and even as I’m dipping it I’m like what am I doing 😂

I'm not sure if this is going to be a sticky one ladies 🙈 this mornings boots test looked a bit sus at the 5 min mark it does seem to have progressed a little from Saturday but I just don’t know next few days will tell all I suppose. Weirdly the easy at home tests have really progressed but I don’t have any left now 🙄

mummatara · 20/10/2025 07:07

Sorry for the terrible picture my bathroom light is sooo bright was trying to block the glare 😂

olivehush · 20/10/2025 09:27

I can see progression on all! Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you! Xx

OP posts:
mummatara · 20/10/2025 10:01

@olivehushnow it’s dried and developed a bit more I can see it easily it was just at the 5 minute point the test looked so much lighter. I won’t get my hopes up too much and then I might be pleasantly surprised 🤞🏼😂

olivehush · 20/10/2025 11:24

@mummatara hopefully!

hope you’re having a nice holiday @MamaO88

How is everyone else getting on?

I resisted the urge to test this morning go me! 8dpo - I’ve never had a BFP before 11dpo so I think I’ll wait until Thursday.

I feel soooo pregnant but I know that it’s my PMS going through the roof and it’s the progesterone causing all the symptoms 🙈 boobs are getting sore, I’ve been in a really bad/anxious mood since the weekend, I’m exhausted, starving, and getting waves of nausea 🤞🏼

MamaO88 · 20/10/2025 18:48

Tested again this morning on a clear blue as just needed to be reassured I hadn’t imagined things 😅

It’s not a dye stealer yet - I have one more clear blue with me, unsure if/when to use it?

MamaO88 · 20/10/2025 18:49

@olivehush oooh that all sounds soooo positive but I know what you mean about the symptoms - I was second guessing every time I noticed a symptom.

Told my best friend yesterday as she’s on holiday with me, so obviously not drinking etc and she was just like “YOU KNEW ALL ALONG!” 😂

mummatara · 21/10/2025 06:28

@MamaO88that is an excellent line! In my experience I’ve never had a dye stealer until much later like 17/18dpo so probably not until you get back? I would do next one in a couple of days as that will give you your 48 hour rise

@olivehushgosh it’s so hard when you have symptoms too. you’ve got this only a few more days to test. You have much more patience than me I would have been on Amazon getting more tests 😂

olivehush · 21/10/2025 07:01

@mummatara girllll at 6.30am I was like I can’t take it anymore, I’m testing today and ordering more from Amazon if I have to!! Then 5 minutes later I went back on the decision - I didn’t test! 9dpo…holding out until 11dpo but these next 2 days are going to be harddddd 😂 I had some pulling-like cramps last night secretly hoping it was implantation. How is your test today??

OP posts:
mummatara · 21/10/2025 07:19

@olivehush😂 I honestly don’t know how you did it what willpower 💪🏼 ooooh they sound promising I’ve had loads of cramps this time which I never get.

test today is not looking promising. It’s def lighter than yesterday’s but only marginally so likely another chemical 🙄 tomorrow’s test will tell all but I have a feeling it’s over. TBH as much as it sucks a chemical is better than all my previous MC which were missed and I didn’t find them out until a scan least this way if I know it’s over it’s a lot quicker

olivehush · 21/10/2025 10:00

@mummatara ohh I’m sorry. There’s so many hoops to jump through the BFP is just the start. Keeping everything crossed for you still!

soooo popped into Waitrose (of all places) and picked up a couple of tests to bulk up my collection…obviously then couldn’t resist doing a cheapie when I got back could I! The starkest whitest BFN I’ve ever seen. I feel so stupid now haha. But it’s still early! I’ve heard 9dpo is the most common day to implant so wouldn’t show on a test anyway until 11-12dpo which seems to be my sweet spot with BFPs so not out yet 🤞🏼

Outside9 · 21/10/2025 11:26

Hmm the above tests do look like positives though, albeit not the strongest. I would try cheap red dye and a digital, considering you're 15 DPO they should provide an indication.

I'm at least 8 DPO I think. My youngest is ill with hand foot mouth disease and older one is off nursery for two weeks 🫠. So definitely no urge to test at all right now.

mummatara · 21/10/2025 19:20

@olivehushdont feel stupid I have def done exactly the same before. You’re def not out yet not until AF shows her mug 😅 glad you’ve bulked out the test collection 🙊

@Outside9I’ve always done well with the boots tests I’ve never had a bad one yet they’ve always been a good indication if it’s progressing well or not. Tbh the lack of progression on them is what makes me suspect a chemical again this is what they did last cycle progressed for a few days then got lighter and by the end of the first week it was over and AF arrived. Oooh you poor thing sending big hugs your way it’s not fun when everyone is at home needing you for everything

I almost caved and did an evening test but I talked myself out of it and told myself to be patient until the morning 😂

olivehush · 22/10/2025 07:22

@Outside9 ahh hope you’re little one is feeling better soon. Can’t believe it’s autumn break already!

10dpo BFN today. Still holding out hope 🤣🤞🏼 what will be will be!

how is everyone else doing? @MintRobin any luck with the LH tests?

mummatara · 22/10/2025 08:21

@olivehushsorry for BFN got everything crossed for tomorrow 🤞🏼

This one is def on its way out I reckon AF will be here by the weekend. Still least I know now and not a few weeks down the line. The line was very faint at the 5 minute point this morning. I get my thyroid under control and it’s my silly old eggs letting me down now 🙄

TTC Baby #3 Not our first rodeo 🤠
olivehush · 22/10/2025 15:13

@mummatara so sorry. When would AF be due or is it late by now?

one thing after another isn’t it!

OP posts:
mummatara · 22/10/2025 15:29

@olivehushAF was due last Fri/Sat so fairly late by now I would be 16/17 dpo today. Ahhhh it’s never as straightforward as it seems is it 😅 makes me think my first pregnancy that was textbook was a lucky fluke 🙈

how you feeling any unusual symptoms?

@MintRobinare you in the tww yet?

mummatara · 22/10/2025 17:07

Ok I really don’t know what to think now. This is giving me brain explosions 🤯 I took an afternoon test for some reason just to torture myself and it’s considerably darker than this mornings test. I just don’t know what to think at the 5 minute mark they always look fainter but then they develop and dry and they just look the same pretty much

Outside9 · 22/10/2025 17:33

They're expensive but at 16 DPO a digital test should be very accurate and help provide clarity

mummatara · 22/10/2025 17:43

@Outside9i don’t want to fork out £20 for it just to say pregnant which I know I am. The lines (usually) give me some direction of if the baby is going to stick or if somethings wrong and likely to be a loss. I’ve been pregnant 8 times now I’ve gotten pretty good at reading the line tests as to whether is going well or not in the beginning but I’ve never had a situation like this before
