Hello! Back early from work after getting a lift and can't believe how much chatting has gone on ! (you don't need to apologise Cals, tis fascinating catching up ).
Can't reply to everything I'd like too, but wanted to send good wishes to BB, and also to Cals .
Kays, that SS line is pure rubbish. I work with Social Services and they would laugh what your midwife said out of the office - what bullies .
Really good to read about everyone's birth experiences. Had epidurals 2 out of 3 times myself here (I am a real wimp when it comes to pain)and BF with dd1 for 9 months exclusively but FF exclusively for dds 2& 3.
I know I am building myself up for a fall by symptomn spotting, but boobs now feel really weird - keep getting that 'let down' (is that the phrase?)sensation when the milk comes in when BF. But then if I have been lucky this month (a miracle) why would I have got a BFN on Saturday (cd 24) with hpt iu15??? Ahh, questions questions, where is my patience!!!

Squack · 03/06/2008 17:15

It's not bad advice to not scream tbh. My m/w for the last one at home instructed me not to expend the energy vocally but to push it downwards.
This, as ludicrous as it does sound, was actually very good advice. He was out in a shot!

I cannot possibly catch up with you all today, so i'm not even going to try, we've been out the best part of the day, despite the rain. I haven't missed anything juicy have I?

Can I ask you all to have a wee look at this thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 17:17

Thanks LL and Diege.

I'm really hoping that it will be easier this time round.

Symptoms sound good Diege!!!

I didn't want an epidural, loads of people told me to have one but I knew I didn't want one. I was quite pleased I managed not to have one as I was expecting I'd be begging for one but I didn't.

happynappies · 03/06/2008 17:23

Kay - am so sorry you had that awful bf experience. I get so cross when people are told the wrong thing or don't get the support they really deserve - I think everything is so medicalised in this country - birth, feeding etc. With the right support who knows where we'd all be... in terms of giving birth and feeding (but I know there are exceptions where medical assistance is necessary etc). I am STILL bf my dd - I tend to keep it quiet these days as I don't want to be accused of being some sort of 'freak' (she is 18 months old - feeds 7am and 7pm, and never in between any more). I figured I'd bf until 6 months if I could - then when I managed to get there after various probs there was no way I was giving up! Got to 1 year and thought I'd try for 2. If I got pg maybe she will wean herself. Love bf, and love nappies (hence my MN name). am such a baby bore!!!

lardylumps · 03/06/2008 17:25

Squack I am lost what do I need to do to find out what that is about?

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 17:25

Nappies are another thing I have been thinking about. We want to use reusable ones this time. We have seen some great brightly coloured ones. I just don't know if they will be hard to use. But they have velcro or poppers so they cant be that hard.

happynappies · 03/06/2008 17:31

Nappies not hard to use Kayz, honestly. I love 'em... We had to use disposables when dd was born (in hospital for 5 days) but as soon as we were home we started using them, and haven't looked back.

glaskham · 03/06/2008 17:31

i used real nappies... wont be around anymore today... off to put the kids in a bath and to bed now and wont be back till morning. But they are really easy to use!! i used them for both my 2 at the same time!! plan to buy some more to use for when i -finally- get pg and have dc3....

Squack · 03/06/2008 17:34

Ask VS to put you in the picture she will then send you the email with detais on the situation and who the MN'er is, if that makes sense.

I'm the noggin coordinating a Tescos shop

I can safely report nothing in the way of symptoms. Still have the occasional twinge but other than that zip, nada, nowt!

Diege it all sounds good Roll on Friday!

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 17:36

I have e-mailed you Squack

Squack · 03/06/2008 17:41

I have emailed you right back, you're a star!

I have been rather surprised at how lovely a bunch of strangers can be.

By strangers obviously I mean those with whom you know soooo much about their fanjo's you could spot them in the supermarket, but you all know what i mean lol

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 17:46

Its ok Squack. It is amazing how we all rally round to help.

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 18:10

Does anyone else have really annoying siblings?

kookykid · 03/06/2008 18:13

Phew! Exhausting catching up. I'm so sorry some of you are having a tough time - sometimes it's so hard being a woman.
Great to see everyone's birth stories too. I was extremely lucky - I hired independent midwives and it was the best money I have ever spent as DD was born at 43+3 and the hospital were really anxious for me to be induced, which I really really didn't want as wanted to be at home. In the end had a great water birth - only laboured for 8 and a half hours and no tearing. She was 7lb 11oz, so not the huge monster the hospital had predicted.
Can't afford IMs this time so will definitely be hiring a doula.

Who's next to test?? Squack and Moos? Diege? Fingers crossed for some BFPs soon!

kookykid · 03/06/2008 18:13

Kay, so step-siblings count??

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 18:16

Yes Kooky as mine is my half-sister.

kookykid · 03/06/2008 18:17

What's she done??!

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 18:17

See here don't fancy typing it out again.

She is such a pain!!

kookykid · 03/06/2008 18:20

OMG... Pretty irresponsible!

Squack · 03/06/2008 18:21

God mines a saint compared to that Kayz. You must be bloody worried sick.

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 18:21

I know. She is so bloody stupid.

kayzisexpecting · 03/06/2008 18:22

I am Squack. She can do what she bloody likes on her own but now she is taking my DN its annoying me. Plus I'm like 150 miles away so I can't do much about it.

kookykid · 03/06/2008 18:24

Do an anonymous call to DN's school...!
