4w5d test still not dark solid

Hi,

after previous losses/ ectopic I’m worried that my tests still aren’t as dark as the control line. I have had progression but I was hoping they would be stronger by now.

im nervously waiting for my results from a blood test today. Hopefully they have risen 🤞🏻

anyone else at a similar stage?

@Lemonmarigoldthank you! I can’t quite believe it after trying for soo long.

good luck for yours 🤞🏻 I thought I was around 6d6w (guess as wasn’t tracking and irregular periods) and they dated me at 7w so pretty close.

they showed me the yolk sack which was like a round halo, then the little baby next to it. It was like a little long blob, you could see the little heart flicker.

I didn’t get a photo which I’m sad about, but I’m just soo relieved

@whatdoyouthink123456 all good! Measuring one day ahead and got to see the heartbeat! It was incredible to see. Such a relief to know all is ok!

@whatdoyouthink123456 yes I did! Crossing everything that the next few weeks go well until the 12 week scan.

CharlotteRae · 25/06/2025 15:37

Hey! How is everyone getting on?

Im really surprised at how ropey I feel at 7 weeks.
iv been feeling soo nauseous, soo tired, sore boobs, headache and so bloated/ constipated!
it feels very early to feel this way. I struggled today looking after my 3year old as I’m just exhausted. When my partner got home from work I had an hours nap! 😴

I know all these symptoms are fairly normal, but they feel a lot soo early!

@whatdoyouthink123456 hey! So far so good with me, just over 8 weeks now… had a scan last week which was looking all good and had my booking in appointment yesterday. My symptoms were strong between 5-6 weeks but have eased now. Boobs still tender, only niggles are after a meal, get little cramps feelings. The tiredness was horrendous over that time too but thankfully has eased! How are you getting on? Have you had a scan recently? X

whatdoyouthink123456 · 01/07/2025 21:44

@CharlotteRaeim soo pleased you are doing well!

my symptoms are still going strong. I’m nauseous a lot but not actually sick so that’s good.

I had a scan last week, have my booking in appointment next Monday.

will you have any more scans? Or wait until 12 weeks?

OP posts:
CharlotteRae · 02/07/2025 06:59

@whatdoyouthink123456 I think we may have a scam at about 9.5-10 weeks just for some reassurance and to check in, depends if there’s a slot we can do as we don’t really want to miss anymore work. How about you? I’m hoping my lack of symptoms are ok, I got away lightly with my daughter too so trying not to read too much into them xx

whatdoyouthink123456 · 02/07/2025 07:38

@CharlotteRaeyou are a bit further along than me so maybe mine might drop off too. my boobs are soo sore all the time, but other symptoms come and go during the day.

Arrggh I’m feeling really stressed (I think worse because I can’t really talk to anyone yet) I really want more reassurance about the baby before our wedding in 2 weeks! I’m really worried about celebrating ‘‘having both our babies with us on such a special day’ etc. then if something going wrong it will tait the wedding. Il always remember that I was pregnant etc. But then if I have scans close to the wedding and something is wrong then it will be awful. What if iv lost the baby a few days before the wedding. Il only be 10 weeks at the wedding so not far enough to have an anomaly scan.

sorry, I think I’m spiralling! It just all feels a lot 🫠

OP posts:
CharlotteRae · 02/07/2025 12:33

@whatdoyouthink123456 how far are you now? If I was you I would have a scan in the next few days, this will reassure you and then don’t have another one until after the wedding. That way worst case scenario if it’s not the news you want you have some time to get your head around it before the wedding x

Unusualtests · 02/07/2025 12:44

I had an early scan and it showed 2 sacs so I have to go back in 2 weeks I think that’s why my tests were so dark

whatdoyouthink123456 · 04/07/2025 09:43

@CharlotteRaeim 8w2d.

Iv decided to do a the Panorama NIPT at 9 weeks. I might not get the results by the wedding (can take 6–9 working days. the wedding is day 8 🫣) iv also booked a private scan for next sat which is 7 days before the wedding.
To me it feels catch 22, if ignorance is bliss but something has gone wrong, the wedding will be tainted because I thought I was pregnant on such a special day. But if I get bad news before the wedding, obviously that would be really sad. I don’t know if that makes sense?!

I wish I could have an nhs scan before but they said you need to be 11w2d.

have you had your scan appointment yet? Mine is 1st August x

CharlotteRae · 04/07/2025 09:54

@whatdoyouthink123456ah I have booked a scan for next Saturday too, after work! Hopefully it will be great news (sure it will be)!

Lemonmarigold · 04/07/2025 13:22

@whatdoyouthink123456 At the moment I’m waiting to hear back from the maternity unit with a date for my 8-10 week booking appointment and then after that I’ll get a date for the 12 week dating scan. They seem to be very busy where I am, a girl I work with didn’t have her 12 week scan until she was 15 weeks. Not currently planning another private scan but if I have to wait that long I might end up booking one!

whatdoyouthink123456 · 04/07/2025 13:33

@CharlotteRaei hope so 🤞🏻 I’m just nervous because of previous losses etc. I think the wedding is making it all feel very intense too. X

OP posts:
whatdoyouthink123456 · 04/07/2025 13:37

@Lemonmarigold

you still don’t have your booking appointment? Iv got mine on Monday?
That’s a bit annoying to have to wait soo long.

Private scans are good for viability etc but it’s not a proper scan. With my son the private scans were all really positive. Then the NHS 12 week one was soo stressful as they thought he had Down’s syndrome markers/ maybe cleft palate etc. I ended up have scans from 12-20 weeks and luckily he was fine. But the private scans gave me a false sense of security x

@Lemonmarigoldare there any other hospitals? Or is that your only choice?
iv moved with this pregnancy and I’m finding the service really good x

OP posts:
Lemonmarigold · 04/07/2025 13:42

@whatdoyouthink123456 this is the only hospital near me. I remember them being very busy with my last pregnancy as well, I think I was 14 weeks having my first ultrasound. I self referred at the weekend to the maternity unit so hoping I’ll hear back soon. We go away on holidays next week for 2 weeks so I’m thinking I better ring them today and see if there’s any chance they could see me before I go otherwise I’ll be coming up to 11 weeks having the booking appointment.

whatdoyouthink123456 · 04/07/2025 13:57

@Lemonmarigoldfair enough. Hopefully it’s not too much longer.
I can’t even really remember what happens at the booking in appointment. X

OP posts:
Lemonmarigold · 04/07/2025 13:59

@whatdoyouthink123456 I decided to ring them there just in case a letter for my appointment would come when we’re away and I’d miss it. The midwife said I wouldn’t have been due to be seen until the 13th and it will most likely be the 28th now. From what I can remember it’s bloods and they go through yours and your partners medical history.

Everythingisokay · 04/07/2025 14:39

OP, I found so many of your feelings relatable!
We had a MMC, a biochem, and then had a baby. The said baby is know 2 years old. We've been trying for a second for some time and had two biochemicals since. I've tested positive a few days ago, re-tested yesterday and it's looking better but I'm now even 4 weeks yet.
Literally everyone around us is either heavily pregnant with a #2 or already gave birth. All the questions from them hurt!

Wish you all the best.

@Everythingisokay

its really tough isn’t it. Once you’ve had issues/ losses it just really plays with your emotions.

I wish I could have a scan every day to check the baby is okay. The waiting feels like torture.

are your tests looking good? No concerns? X

I only took one on Tuesday and then one on Thursday. Thursday's one seemed darker.
Will test again tomorrow and then planning to leave it to Wednesday.
