TTC #4 at 39!

Morning everybody, looking for support/company in my TTC journey!
Bit of back ground info I'm 39 on Saturday so well aware time isn't on my side. I have 3 Children (19,12 and 6) and have had multiple miscarriages between those 3, last year I had 2 mc and a mmc at 12 weeks which resulted in a major hemorrhage and emergency surgery! We have been TTC actively since but feel very lonely in this journey 😢 Hubby is fantastic and very supportive but I feel speaking with people going through the same will help to feel less alone and less guilty that my body is failing me xx

Did you get many opportunities to dtd, I remember you saying you had family over so it was gonna have to wait, maybe we both took the to relaxed approach haha 😄 xx might have to go twice as hard next cycle 😅xx

@Fluffy38 yes we did, around 4 times in my fertile time I think. How about you? I think I ovulated from my side that I don’t have a fallopian tube this time which I haven’t done for ages! 🥴 so haven’t put money on it happening this cycle. 😩
Nearly at the end of hooked now! Few more chapters left! It’s taken me ages to read for one reason or another!! It’s ok but not brilliant! How are you getting on with your books? Xx

We only managed once this cycle!! So odds definitely not in our favour lmao but having said that my 2nd son was conceived after just once and whilst on the pill! I finished hooked in a few days I'm now almost finished scarred which is another story in the same series which I believe is based around disney characters lol 😆 it wasn't a bad book and it passed the time but still to tame for me haha xx

Yeah we only had nookie once when we fell pregnant with our last little one! 😆
Did you wow! That was a quick read! I’ve been either busy doing something else or too tired to read once my little one falls asleep or that lights are off and it’s too dark! lol. Should finish it by the end of tonight! Xx

I'm on the last chapter of scarred now, iv just had a new release delivered which completes a series I read 2 months ago and I'm itching to read it as it left it on a cliff hanger lol 😆 I'm such a simple creature a good book and a brew and I'm happy lol xx

@BabyBorn I done 2 early detection tests this morning and both stark white! AF not due til 15th but I'd say we're out this month. Now I'm trying to decide if I should buy more OPKs or not I have my fertility app on 16th May so we potentially have another cycle before the app, I'm feeling very deflated today xx

Hey@Fluffy38 how many days post ovulation are you now? Still very early days isn’t it? Forgot to ask you how you managed to get a fertility appointment? Given you’ve already got 3 children? I’m not going to bother asking my GP because if it doesn’t happen in the next 2-3 months it wasn’t meant to be and we are going to stop trying! Xx

After my miscarriage in Sept they sent a referral to the infertility/fertility clinic because I have a history of multiple miscarriages that have never been investigated. Because I'd had 3 consecutive mcs within 7 months one of which was life threatening and I made it clear I wanted another child they said they would try to push it through but I could still be waiting up to 18months. Within 2 weeks of being discharged from hospital I had my appointment xx

Aahhh I see, that’s terrible, sorry to hear that you’ve had so many losses! 😢 I’ve had a few since June 2
2024 and a D&C in November, they said I would be extra fertile after a miscarriage but been the opposite! 😂😂 xx

Iv had 12 all together over the years but when I had my daughter 6 years ago I changed hospitals and they have been really on the ball with it, the previous hospital were so dismissive and said these things happen and there is no point investigating as its not going to change the outcome and she was a female consultant too!! Xx

God! Shocking isn’t it. I’ve had 3 miscarriages, one ectopic rupture, 1 termination and 3 children. I’ve put two miscarriages down to age and the fact I was breastfeeding loads at the time but the first one was very hard because I found out at my 20 weeks scan my baby had died at 18 weeks.😢 Not every egg is viable even if it fertilises, especially as we age 😮‍💨 Glad you’ve got a hospital that will help you with this very difficult journey. Xx

I Hope they can help but I have this awful feeling that given my age and the fact I already have 3 kids they probably won't get to involved and just run routine tests check for clotting disorders ect xx

I have no idea but it’s good that it’s a fertility clinic as wouldn’t your GP just run tests? Mine did March 2024 as I had been trying a good few months without any luck at all. They just did the 21 day test to see if my hormone levels were ok and if I was ovulating and it all came back normal. Hopefully a fertility clinic will do a more in depth investigation and scan you too xx

Hey @BabyBorn sorry for not replying iv been in the wars!! I was cleaning my daughters room and I back completely went, I couldn't feel my left leg properly spent most of yesterday laid up and off my trolley on pain relief. Iv managed to get up and about today but still in alot of pain. Did you do your test this morning? Xx

Yes did a test yesterday and it was stark white 😩 not going to do anymore now until AF arrives. You can’t be far off testing now? Xx

I started testing on Thursday but all BNF and AF decided to show her face this morning! She can do one lol 😆. Backs still in bits but I'm trying to stay as mobile as possible, it's a recurring issue that I was suppose to go for an MRI for but it was scheduled when I was pregnant last year so they cancelled it and now have to wait til they can squeeze me in again. Trying to keep positive thought that this is a new cycle and I will make it happen lol 😆 xx

Aawww hope you get to have the scan before you fall pregnant again. Get it over with so you can get it sorted. Yeah the only thing you can do is keep postive isn’t it. I fell off my clean eating wagon but back on it today with vengeance! Sorry to hear AF arrived but I am sure I will be right behind you, trying for another month! X

It's so frustrating isn't it trying to do everything right, eating clean, less stress more exercise blah blah blah the harder I try the worse the failing feels. It makes me so angry that people with really bad life styles and drug habits ect seem to fall pregnant so easy and retain the pregnancy yet those of us that really want it and play by the rules just don't get anywhere 😑 xx

Currently 3dpo so in the 2ww.

Welcome to the chat, the 2ww is the worst it just drags and makes you insane with all the symtom spotting xx

Hi yes the tww is awful. I can't test until next Wednesday which feels like a long way off. I'm very impatient!

Hey @Fluffy38 sorry for the radio silence, been so busy. AF has come this morning 😢 My cycle has gone from 31 days 4-6 months ago and slowly changing to a more normal cycle of 28 days. I think it’s because I’m only breastfeeding my little one once or twice a day now. I’m going to start taking raspberry leaf tea this cycle. How are you doing? Xx

Morning hun, it was a weird one this month AF only stayed 2 whole days! Lil bit of spotting on the 3rd day and now all ready to go again. What does the raspberry leaf tea do? I'm back on the conception plus supplements this month hopefully it helps I didn't take them last month as they actually suppress my appetite I think it's the cod liver oil one that makes me feel crap 😅 xx
