Friendly/supportive/sensitive thread 🌱

Hi everyone, I was hoping to start a nice friendly supportive and sensitive thread. Maybe for those ttc for a while or after losses or just finding things difficult with ttc in general. I love to read others have had bfp's as it gives me hope, but have been finding some threads with alot of positive test pictures posted quite difficult.
Hoping to find others looking for the same as it's lovely to have a place to rant, feel sad, feel happy, get advice, or just obsess without judgement 🙂

I am 36, started ttc 2 years ago, had 2 mmc, and have now been ttc for 14 months since the last one without success. Currently on cd14 on a "not tracking"cycle. x

I have to disappoint you, but I can't get to the store before tomorrow. Maybe I'll try to hold my wee a couple hours and test tomorrow afternoon, since you asked so nicely 🤣

Ahh no🤣 yes i definitely think you should do tomorrow

CabbageFan · 17/02/2025 10:38

The test was negative! As I expected. They were out of all early tests except clearblue and I did buy one, but didn't want to use it quite yet. It' only 11dpo, I used a regular test and it's mid-day, so not ideal.
I'm still feeling very tired and slightly nauseous. Last night I had to get up to pee, which almost never happens. But, I also had a bit of a drop in my bbt. Still above the baseline, but I think I want to see if it gets back up or at least stays consistent before doing another test. Just in case, because if the progestrone medication shortened my cycle after all, I think I could expect AF within a couple of days especially if my bbt drops further tomorrow.

Do you find bbt easy to track? I’m thinking of trying it but I’m just not sure if waking up in the night a couple of times will effect it too much

I haven't found it too difficult. But it's a little bit annoying, a watch or other wearable device that measures bbt at night would make it so much easier. I use just a regular digital thermometer.
I'm also waking up a couple times a night, or rather I kind of just stir when I notice the kids have climbed to our bed and fall right back to sleep. Maybe it's a bigger problem if you're actually getting up or waking and then staying awake for longer periods, idk? I can't say much though, because it's my first cycle trying it.

i dont actually get out of bed either, I just get my boob out 🤣 I was thinking of getting an oura ring as a treat to myself

erihskreb · 17/02/2025 20:48

Sorry to hear about your ectopic @BGxxx 💐

Still no success here either or any sign of either AF or ovulation - now on CD76. A bit disappointing as we’ve just come back from holiday and last year I got my period on 3 different holidays so I was hoping that would do the trick!

On the plus side, my GP referred me to the fertility clinic and I’ve got a phone appointment in April. Not sure how many appointments you need before treatment starts given I already have a PCOS diagnosis as the obvious cause, but hopefully I can get things moving soon after that. I think I need to get some bloods and an ultrasound done beforehand, and a semen analysis for DP.

CabbageFan · 18/02/2025 05:11

I think I'm out this cycle 😕 My temperature spiked back up so you know I went ahead and tested again, even though I said I wouldn't 🙄 It was one of those clearblue ultra early ones, so at 12dpo I think I shoud've got a positive result. I even took it apart to see the strip just in case, but it had only one line as well. I might test again if I don't see a temp drop or AF, but I doubt that.
It looks like nausea is becoming a lovely luteal phase symptom for me. No thanks 🥲
This one feels a bit tough, because I was REALLY hoping. The due date of the baby I miscarried is steadily approaching (march 28th). Going there and not being pregnant just feels... increasingly bad. I guess I just have to keep praying, tracking and hopefully next cycle could be it.

Figtree11 · 18/02/2025 07:13

@erihskreb i’m sorry you are still waiting for AF or ovulation. I’ve been there & it’s tough. That’s good that you have been referred to the fertility clinic though. Do you take anything for the pcos currently? I was taking metformin & inositol & ovulated on cd18 which is unheard of for me. Before that I was having cycles that ranged between 45 and 75 days long

@CabbageFan oh I’m sorry, it’s so disappointing, especially when you have that feeling that it might have worked this time. And I know it’s so hard with a due date coming up. I had 2 due dates last year that I wasn’t pregnant again for either, and I did find the lead up to it harder than the actual date instead. Hold onto that hope, I am sure one day you’ll get positive news again

SimJac2025 · 18/02/2025 09:52

Hi everyone, hope your all well, so i;ve recovered from my moody weekend with AF coming early, i've been surrounded by people finding out theyre pregnant at work so felt super peeved off! No idea what my cycles are doing right now, only been this year they are all over the place! i am CD 4 today and round 6 xx

BGxxx · 18/02/2025 11:24

@erihskreb thank you!
I had my hcg tested yesterday and it’s dropped from 16500 to 400 in just over a week so hoping I’ll get a negative soon

erihskreb · 18/02/2025 13:07

@Figtree11 I’ve just been taking inositol and some other vitamins/minerals but you’ve reminded me that I have metformin in the cupboard so maybe I will start taking it from now until my appointment to see how I get on! I’ve taken it on and off for a few years but always end up stopping because of the side effects (nausea/loss of appetite and stomach aches for me). Now that we are TTC I do have more of an incentive to stay on anything that might possibly help!

Figtree11 · 18/02/2025 13:29

@erihskreb the side effects are tough, I really struggled with sickness & a bad stomach. But I’ve been on it for almost 2 months now and have just started to notice the past couple of weeks that I’m not noticing the side effects much any more. I hope it’s not long til you get your appointment, and that in the meantime ovulation comes soon

@BGxxx sounds like a really good drop. Hope you’re doing ok

Ladyinpink1 · 18/02/2025 21:58

I'm sorry things are tough @CabbageFan @erihskreb and everyone else having a tough month, ttc is such a rolercoaster of emotions isnt it.... i'm hoping for good news for you all very soon! x

@figtree I am very pleased for you, you really deserve this after all you have neen through, and I have a good feeling about this time for you. x

I hope you continue to recover well @BGxxx and I hope all continues to go well for you too @vanilla. xx

I am going to take a break from our thread for a bit. I have been struggling with how I'm feeling recently (i have been really quite sad this luteal phase and I think my journey is different now with it being such a long time trying.
I will be back to read all the good news from you all soon 😃 ❤️ x

@Ladyinpink1 sorry to hear you need a break, I’ll miss you and hope to see you back soon with some good news!
I should probably take a break from mumsnet too,
I still don’t know how long I need to wait before trying again and then it will fall near holiday so it will probably be after July like I thought which is a such a depressing thought

CabbageFan · 20/02/2025 09:15

Its 14dpo and I just started spotting. I know it's AF coming 99,99% but still I'm trying to hold onto that 0,01% chance that it's early pregnancy spotting and I just had a late implantation 🥲 Why must I be like this 🤣 My bbt hasn't dropped below the line yet and I'm curious when that will happen, because I saw most women reporting that theirs usually drop about a day before AF or on the day that their periods start. But honestly I'd be very happy to see my periods properly start later today or tomorrow. It would make this a 31 or 32 day cycle, which would already be an improvement from 35 days. I know the couple days here or there sounds like nothing, but I swear it matters! I've felt so out of touch with my body during the longer cycles compared to when they were 30 days.

CabbageFan · 28/02/2025 11:31

It has been very quiet here lately! What have you all been up to? February os over and march is about to begin. How's that making everybody feel?
I haven't been up to much. Started spring deep-cleaning our house in preparation for lent, that's the most interesting thing going on in my life right now 🤣 Oh, and I finally managed to make a functioning wheat sourdough! I'm feeling excited and hopeful for spring.

LuluGilmore · 28/02/2025 15:00

Hey, I've not been very active on here but the cycle of it all is sometimes overwhelming. The trying, the hope, then unfortunately the period where I feel utterly defeated and like It'll never happen for me.
Had blood tests and iron was very low so have been on supplements and had a follow up blood test today. Currently on AF, trying to commit to a healthy month, pre-prenatal vitamins, CQ10, drinking more water.
It is quietly exhausting - wishing you all little Christmas babies.

BGxxx · 01/03/2025 08:58

Hi! Just waiting for my period after surgery and then will be ttc again. My test is pretty much negative so hoping it will be soon. Hope you’re all okay xx

Figtree11 · 01/03/2025 09:44

I'm so sad to hear that. How are you now? 😟

Elephantscantjump · 03/03/2025 13:30

Hi all, first time posting on anything like this and I suppose acknowledging that we're actively trying.

I came off birth control last March and cycles have been 32-34 days pretty consistently. Last month was 37 days had terrible PMS symptoms for longer than usual but then AF arrived. Currently on day 42 of cycle, BFN yesterday so don't really know what's going on.

I'm a bit worried I'm perimenopausal as approaching 34 but not sure if it's just anxiety.

How are you monitoring ovulation? This will be the only way you can work out your cycle.

I've been using the flo app and ovulation tests from amazon (although not consistently) hadn't wanted to put too much pressure on myself.

carolinep3 · 03/03/2025 13:42

Until
You know when you ovulate you won't be able to work out why your cycles are so long. Did you ovulate late? Is your follicular phase/luteal phase too long/short etc. did you ovulate at all? This could cause a longer than normal cycle. Optimal cycle length is 28-32 days for fertility health.

Thanks, sounds like I need to be more on it to make sure consistently.
